Oak Tree Inn

The staff and the locals were very friendly and welcoming. The Oak Tree has a lot going on, e.g. local acts, karaoke and bingo. The Oak Tree is a great pub and it is well supported by local residents.

We stayed in the annex this time. The bedroom was great. The only issue was the bathroom was very small.

Staff and facilities were brilliant

The booking through booking.com when we tried to book an additional day it reserved another room which was sorted by the staff as they rang me to clarify. Again good customer service.

Lovely place- a great location for visiting Beamish and surrounding towns and villages . Really friendly staff and locals - would highly recommend if you are visiting this area.

Lovely friendly Inn , great location , brilliant breakfast, not far from Beamish , Newcastle and Durham.

Room was lovely plenty of space breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful nothing was any trouble great atmosphere local people were lovely and welcoming they had a free chilli and curry night which my husband Enjoyed. unfortunately I don’t like either of them the owner did explain why they don’t have a dinning room and evening meals when I asked but did recommend places for good food only 5-6 minutes away which we tried and it was ok food and price reasonable

Can’t think of anything at all

Ideal for what we were in the area for and would return if we were up that way again. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Sue the landlady was lovely. Cooked a great breakfast and gave us directions to good restaurants for dinner.

The bathroom was tiny and had a shower curtains and our knees touched the wall when on the loo!

Room was big, clean, facilities for making tea and coffee. Large bathroom with bath and shower, plenty clean towels. Bar downstairs was lively, serving a good pint of beer at a reasonable price. Locals were all friendly. Would recommend the breakfast, at £7.50 is good value for money and is delicious, served by a lovely lady who was very helpful and could not do enough for you.

Bed was a little hard for me ( I sleep in a quite soft bed at home) but that is just me. Other guests were making great comments about there sleep at breakfast.

Only slight problem was, a unexpected music in the downstairs bar, which lasted till late, which sleep was hindered.

I liked everything from the welcome we received from the bar lady. The welcome from the landlady, the customers were all very friendly. The room and breakfast were superb, and the landlord was very welcoming when we chatted in the morning. 110 out of 10, would recommend to anyone. A great experience away from home 🏡

Staff and customers were very friendly and the pub had a great atmosphere. There was a bonus of as much free curry and rice as you could manage on Tuesday evening. The room was clean and was large enough for our needs. Breakfast was traditional english and was well worth the additional cost. Although we didn't use it, the bus to Newcastle passes through the village. There was a handy convenience store opposite the pub.

The only thing that I pick up on is that This was advertised as having Traditional pub food which would have Saved one of us driving but I asked the Lady in charge and she said that they Hadn’t done pub food for years but it’s Still advertised on line ?

Im OakTree Inn wird das Frühstück in der eigenen Küche frisch zubereitet.Wünsche werden berücksichtigt,und von der freundlichen Inhaberin umgesetzt.Sehr zuvorkommendes Servicepersonal,und erläuert es nochmal,falls man es sprachlich nicht versteht.Ruhig gelegen,trotz der Straße vor dem Inn.Der Pub wird von den Einwohnern auch besucht ,und ist gemütlich.Es gibt z.B. Bingoabende und vieles mehr. Ein guter Aufenthalt um die landschaftlich schöne Umgebung zu erkunden.

Schade ist nur ,daß dort zum Lunch oder Dinner nicht selbst gekocht wird.Doch man kann sich verschiedene Menüs durch den Lieferservice bringen lassen,und in dem Inn essen.Das nette Personal hilft und bestellt .

Only stayed one night but would highly recommend the Oak Tree Inn. Very friendly staff and made to feel welcome in the pub by the locals. Great accommodation and really good breakfast. Will definitely look to stay again.

The Oak Tree Inn is ideal if visiting Beamish living museum and is approximately 15 mins away. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is freshly cooked and excellent.

Difficulty in finding Oak Tree Inn. It about half a mile from the quoted address so satnav cannot guide one to the Inn. Address needs to be changed so satnav gives correct location. That said staff member was most helpful in guiding me to the Inn over the telephone

When arriving they upgraded us as they were having music playing and karaoke, the accommodation was located next to the the oak inn and was realy nice inside. The staff were realy freindy and we would definitely stay again.

A lovely classic inn, with spacious room and friendly staff. Greeted each morning, breakfast was delicious and generous. And the location was perfect for our wedding destination, but had some lovely walks around.

Property was lovely, had a warm welcome and shown to room above the pub. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, we opted for breakfast which was cooked fresh and tasted amazing! Overall a lovely stay and we would absolutely stay again.

The only niggle and very minor was the shower head was spraying water everywhere. My partner did not like the shower whereas I was fine with it!

Its a lovely pub in a lovely location and the room was very nice and the breakfast the best I have ever had I have stayed there a few times and will certainly be back to stay again.

Lovely comfortable bed, nicely furnished rooms, good temperature at night, superb value for money breakfast, friendly staff, friendly locals and a great location.

Nothing really. There was a little noise from the television in the bar area at night, but if you book above a pub, what do you expect! It didn’t go on too late and there are alternative rooms in a building next to the pub, which I’ve stayed in before and are very quiet!

A really lovely little pub, everyone we talked to was so friendly and polite, the pub had a nice atmosphere all the locals making guests feel welcome. We stayed in an upstairs small apartment in a separate building to the main pub and it had everything we needed, it was very clean and comfortable and had a great view over rooftops to the countryside. Breakfast was cooked fresh and was delicious and plenty of it. Great location to Beamish museum.

Staff very helpful. When I arrived exhausted from travel, they ordered me a high quality take away meal. The room was very comfortable, and Tantobie itself was a very friendly and interesting village.

There’s not many places l’ve stayed in including 5 star hotels that can cook poached eggs without boiling them in vinegar making them inedible but looking lovely poached eggs at the Oak Tree nothing great to look at but perfection on a plate great home cooking just the way it should be 🥰
