Beds and pillows were super comfortable and staff was really sweet.

Breakfast was excellent/ The host (Bambi) was extremely helpful and very kind

The location of this hotel is perfect, with a skywalk to the convention center where we were working over the weekend. The bar and restaurant area were welcoming and had a nice buzz of industry people to network with. The food was great and the drinks even better. The bartender, Grant, took excellent care of us and even recommended local restaurants to check out. Thanks for a great stay!

My stay at the Downtown Hilton in Des Moines was very enjoyable. Trevor in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. Olivia and Chris were super bartenders. Braeden was very helpful at check in and check out.

Cathy was the best server in the dining room at breakfast. Cathy served us She was attentive, friendly and made sure everything was just right.

Sherman and Trevor facilitated my WELCA group to enjoy supper on a Saturday night. The food was served in a timely manner. Trevor and Sherman were very gracious and made us welcome. Food was excellent and filling. Nathan took group photos for us twice.

Sherman was a wonderful server who handled our large group very professionally. Nathan was kind enough to take our photo not once but twice. And Trevor was pleasant and we appreciated his hospitality. My meal was delicious. Was a very nice experience.

The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Check-in was quick and efficient. The restaurant staff were kind and attentive to our needs. The assistant manager made us feel especially welcome.

We booked the exact same room for our 5th anniversary as we had for our wedding night! That was cozy. It is a lovely and clean hotel.

There was the same problem with the shower door sliding open as there was 5 years ago.

the internet was spotty at best several times a night i had to reconnect which was a hassle. room service was incredibly expensive for mediocre food as well as poor amount of options.

The room was clean. We ordered room service and the food was great, but it was expensive!

The pool was a joke. It's too small for a hotel that size. There was too many people in it. It was so loud you couldn't hear the person beside you to have a conversation. There were people swimming in sweatpants! There were no towels and no where to sit. There were people drinking and having a pizza party in a space that was already full with people and kids that wanted to swim. There was no hot tub. There's no free continental breakfast. The breakfast buffet, which wasn't great, was $30! Who wants to pay $120 for a family of 4 to eat breakfast?! We won't be staying there again.

I was going to a hockey game at the Casey's center and was able to walk indoors from the hotel to the venue it was wonderful

Hotel is nice but customer service is terrible. Employees are less than helpful and a bit condescending. Had to errors on my bill, hotel will only refund one. Usually Hilton bends over backwards to correct problems but not this hotel. Won’t be staying here again.

This place was very clean; room cleaning was provided during my stay. Staff were all very nice. Pillows were comfortable, overall no complaints at all. Thermostat worked as expected and well.

Walls are very thin, they no longer offer valet parking. I had a noise complaint from the room next door two nights in a row. I complained twice and their hotel “security” wouldn’t even knock on that rooms door and address the issue. I guess if you want something done you have to handle it yourself.

Staff was helpful and nice when there was a small glitch in the booking! They let us keep our truck there for nearly 12 hours after check out even!

Room was clean, large shower is a plus as I am a bigger person. The hotel was quiet at the staff were helpful.

The amount of food in the restaurant for the money was not where it could have been. On top of that the pasta I had ordered had no protein on it. The $30 a night stay to park my vehicle is a bit excessive, and the grab and go might have been the worst price wise that I have seen.

Loved the location and stayed for ISAA archery. Closest to the convention center. Clean modern hotel. The glass walk-in shower was very nice. Housekeeping did a fantastic job cleaning the room for a multinight stay. I called to add an extra night, and the staff was polite and accommodating. It was nice to have a bar and restaurant as part of the hotel.

Some of the outlets were loose, which wouldn't charge my phone. It was not a major deal, but for the price of the room, it's something that should be fixed. We parked outside, and the hotel charges $30 a day. That seems like something that should be included, but if parking underground, that would be worth the price. No breakfast included but able to go to connected restaurant.

If you have business in downtown Des Moines or you're attending a convention in the Iowa Events Center, there is nothing more convenient than a room in the Hilton Des Moines Downtown. Located at 436 Park Street, this three-star hotel is part of the Des Moines Skywalk System and is connected to the Iowa Events Center. How close can you get? Me? I was just looking for a good night's sleep before embarking on the last leg of my journey to Chicago. Hilton Des Moines Downtown has every amenitie you can imagine, including breakfast, fitness center, on-site restaurant, bar/lounge, indoor swimming pool, al fresco eating area, room service, free wi-fi, EV charging, private parking, free high speed internet access, airport shuttle and patio. I booked a King Room with a king-sized bed, refrigerator, 50-inch flat screen TV, workspace, in-room safe, coffee/tea maker, air conditioning and wi-fi access. And, yes, I got a very good night's sleep.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms are modern and smart, plenty of storage and a decent sized telly. The beds are super comfortable and the shower was spacious and beautifully warm. The shuttle bus service is absolutely top drawer and I cannot praise the hotel enough for this, a major selling point and one that other hotels would be wise to consider. Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about but not bad either, the service team was friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel itself is pretty close to a five star rating from myself, it missed out from me due to the outrageously priced convenience section, 3 bottles of drink (2 of which was water) for over 20 bucks is unacceptable to me, I know I didn’t have to pay it but as a person based outside of the country and also late at night I didn’t know of any other options at the time! However, with that said I would 100% stay here again, no doubt at all. Thanks for a very comfortable stay Hilton Des Moines!

Eine sehr gute Lage und eine tolle Bar.

Wir hatten eine Skyview-Suite und das Zimmer war schmutzig. Wir haben uns zwischenzeitlich bei der Rezeption gemeldet und es wurden auch nur Stellen nochmal gereinigt, die stark verschmutzt waren. Beispielsweise lagen Glasscherben unter dem TV-Tisch - diese wurden entfernt, aber der Boden nicht nochmal gereinigt. Als wir bei der Rezeption die Kritik geäußert haben, dass unser Baby beim krabbeln auf dem Boden schwarze Hände und Knie bekommt, gab es keine überraschte Reaktion. Schade, dass die Reinigung und der Service nicht dem Standard entspricht, den wir bei Hotels der Hilton-Gruppe kennen.

Although the hotel was excellent the receptionist was not welcoming. Interesting how your whole experience can be affected by your first impression at the reception. Also, I don't recall reading anywhere in my reservation package that parking is $30/day! For Des Moines that's significant.

My suite was not ready at check in ! They had to clean it so it was 45 min from check in t 3 before it wa ready. They told me since it was a third party booking there wa nothing they could to to comp me except give me 2 breakfast vouchers! Breakfast was awful nd not much of selection for $23 per person . pancake hard s a rock ! Room was not the cleanest. Very disappointing esp for the amount of money I paid.

The shower wouldnt stay close and wouldnt drain we told them about it about an hour of check in theu said they would fix and didnt i almost fell getring out of the shower because water was wasnt draining. Not happy at all with what inpaid for the room very ipset

10/10 - very nice, affordable and convenient. We were in town for a concert and were within walking distance to the venue and downtown. This will be our new place to stay every time!

I stayed at the Hilton for business this past weekend. The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the food was good. However, the customer service could use improvement. There was an issue during my stay—something that was a mistake rather than intentional—and it was resolved. The manager personally came over, apologized, and offered our company four drink coupons for the bar, which I appreciated. On Sunday morning, Starbucks inside the hotel was closed earlier than expected, so we asked the bar attendant if we could use the coupons for two non-alcoholic cocktails. To our surprise, we were told that the coupons were valid only for alcoholic beverages or coffee. I explained that we simply wanted the same cocktails, just without alcohol, which would actually cost the hotel less. Still, the answer remained no, and we were told, “You can come back tomorrow when Starbucks is open.” Since we were checking out that day, that wasn’t an option. In the end, we returned the four coupons with our best wishes. I share this not because of the initial mistake—which can happen anywhere and was handled well—but because the bar experience reflected a lack of customer service and flexibility. A simple solution could have turned the situation into a positive one, but instead it left a disappointing impression.

Not what I would expect from a Hilton. The grab and go items are very limited without any serious thought put into it. Whoever does the food service has no clue as to what a good snack or healthy and wholesome meals mean. For example, the lunch packs are cheese, eggs, melon and crackers. I mean what is that and who eats that? At the restaurant, there’s no option to take buffet items in a plate to your room, you have to order to-go. That must change. The parking situation is limited with the underground parking small and a small outdoor parking. This hotel needs to put some effort into their service. That is NOT what you expect from a Hilton in a major city in America.

Beds were awesome; hotel provided shampoo/bathroom products- awesome.

They do have on site parking, but if you cannot get a spot outside you have to go to the basement and it is very cramped. Taking a truck or suv down there is not easy. It would not be for everyone, especially inexperienced drivers.
