EVERYTHING
I don't know whether it was a scam or not but we were redirected to another hotel called Hanoi Boutique House due to beg bugs or something. The room and bathroom were tiny, quite loud outside (it's also in the old quarter). Everything was old and seemed half-broken. No wardrobe, no kettle. For 3 people just 1 tiny night drawer, no chairs, no other surfaces to put things. Ants everywhere. Huge but super old balcony - but it's loud and underneath people sell raw chickens... The man at the reception seems friendly but it feels like it is fake in order to please people. It was a disaster overall.
The room was fine.
The stairs are a bit much is you live on the top floor. The staff was to pushy on the trips with them, "with us its cheaper", "we do it better".
Amazing location , really clean and cozy property. The owner was so helpful with organizing everything for us and helping us with recommendations ! Really recommend everyone to stay here
Thomas is the best host you can get. Always smiling and ready to help. 🙏
They offer an airport pick up at competitive price. Walking distance from things to see and do in Hanoi. Clean, no bugs. Very pleasant employees. I gave a good 7.
Room and furniture little banged up. It looks way better in pictures! My street facing window was not soundproof much. Scooter and honk noise quite late and very early. Gave a good 7. Lost some points for street noise, room need TLC. Would score better if 25-30% cheaper. Priced too high.
Very friendly host and a great location in the old town, whet you are able to walk to anywhere you wanna be
The bathroom is a bit basic - a shower curtain would do wonders so that you do t wet the entire room
The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make your stay easy and comfortable. Especially when it comes to check-in and out. The beds are comfortable, which I appreciated, as I tried to get over my jet lag here. Toothpaste, toothbrushes and hand soap provided for you, including clean towels. The location is brilliant, especially if you'd like to visit the key sights of Hanoi. Also, have no fear if you are arriving very late or very early, the night receptionist will be able to let you in.
The only critique I have is that the water when taking showers was cold.
Thomas the manager was so helpful and friendly. He booked our tour for the Ha Giang loop and a food tour. He made everything easy.
I would have liked breakfast included.
Comfortable, lovely host
The room was spacious and as the pictures showed. The bathroom had a bathtub with a shower and everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The location is very convenient, close to the old quarter and everything we needed was reachable by foot. The best part was the owner Thomas who was so friendly and attentive. He gave us great tips for restaurants when we asked and helped with getting us to the bus to Sapa. While we didn't use the excursion booking service he offers (we didn't know and booked from Germany in advance) I am sure he will gladly help you book any bus or activity you like. Thank you Thomas for a great experience, we will come back if we ever return to Hanoi!
It was very close to the center, everything was great, I would recommend it.
With some modifications, conditions can improve significantly.
Friendly and helpful staff
You can't pay by card
The room was clean, pretty and in the middle of everything we wanted. So easy to access the old quarter.
It’s clean, comfortable, accessible to all, near tourist spots, and the receptionist is SUPER FRIENDLY AND NICE! 👍👍👍
The noise of the city, that’s it.
Clean rooms, great location
Room was great and staff were lovely!
All the room needs is a shower curtain in the bathroom otherwise the whole room gets very wet.
The location is great and means you can walk to most attractions. Despite being central the room was surprisingly quiet. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
There is no window which can make it feel claustrophobic and the lighting is quite bad. There is also lift in the building which can be a problem for some. The room and bathroom despite being clean and comfortable is old and needs updating.
I liked the location, it was in the center of everything. You could walk to the lake, cathedral, shops, restaurants. Perfect location.
There was no curtain for the shower. I got water on the floor whenever I took a shower.
At first, hotelkeeper was one of the friendliest persons I ever seen. Thank you Thomas! I felt like I visited my old friend in Hanoi. I believe the attitude towards guests made also our stay very remarkable and unique. However hotel itself was in great location there are almost all you can do in Hanoi within walking distance. I recommend that hotel for staying in Hanoi.
Lovely staff, efficient communication, clean, very good location. Good value in Hanoi
Thomas was amazing! He makes sure you are being well taken care of, be it by recommending restaurants, arranging day trips to Ha Long Bay or Ninh Binh, he was always happy to help with a smile. Location is right in the center of old town, easy walking to most places of interest. I would definitely come back!
The bed was a bit soft for my taste.
Really friendly staff - Thomas was lovely and very helpful. The location was also great, within walking distance of all of the places I wanted to see. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. I just needed a base to sleep and it delivered.
This hotel almost tick all the boxes. Very comfy bed, great location and most importantly Thomas the owner. He is super helpful, likeable and tries to provide his best service. I would recommend this stay to everyone. BTW, he upgraded us with no charge. Stairs might be an issue for some but definitely not for us.
Nothing!
Staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. Room was decent.
No elevator in the building, access to the top floor via stairs only.
Good location Very helpful and friendly staff
Very dated No lift so have to climb stairs. Can be tiring if your room is past the 2nd floor. The bathroom was so dated it just looked dirty, especially the bathtub. The shower was just awful as it's impossible to adjust it to face you. It only faces the wall or the bathroom itself and wets the whole place as a result. Saw a dead cockroach come out of the aircon after I switched it on.
Tomas and his family are super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room is very spacious and clean. The location is ideal, next to train street, market, restaurants etc.
The location is exceptional! Close to all main attractions, cafes and restaurants. Thomas , the manager, kindly accommodated my request of having a room facing the back of the building. He also helped me arrange transportation to pick me up at the airport and take me there for a very reasonable price. The room was very clean.
In general I am very happy with the property given the price I paid. But a few things to provide an even better experience would be to give free water to the guests; the lamp in my room was making a bit of a loud noise when turning it on (but it was fine cause I was there for a short time).
Thomas was the best host.
Thomas the owner is a really lovely guy, we had nice conversation about God and the world :) He will make sure that you feel like home and try to help you with everything 24/7. Thomas I wish you all the best, take care of yourself and if you ever come to Germany, just text me :)
Nothing everything was perfect
The location and equipment of the room were very good. But the best was the hotel manager Tom, available at the reception 24/7. Always ready to help with anything needed with a smile on his face. He flexibly organised all our trips to Hi Giang, HaLong Bay and Nihn Bihn at a high quality and good price. His service was so good that we even decided to stay at the hotel for three more nights.
The hotel has 5 floors without a lift and the staircase is quite steep. We were ok with that but it could be a problem for some people.
Spacious room, very convenient location, nice and helpful staff, very clean
Not the hotel’s fault - It was a bit noisy in the room bc it’s facing the road.
super friendly staff, he was very helpful and spread great energy! If you need any support with anything, he'll be happy to help. Thank you!
Everything was nice, modern and clean. Only the beds were not comfortable. They had some sort of plastic wrapping around them - to protect the mattress I suppose -, but that made them uncomfortable to sleep on. It made sound everytime you moved. Please remove that plastic wrapping.
Had a lovely stay in Hanoi Moonlight Hotel. The location is great, right in the Old Quarter, yet there was no issue with noise at all! The room was spacious and clean, and the manager was so friendly - he would go above and beyond for his guests! I would definitely stay here again, it is great value for money!
Staff so kind and friendly as well as a great location. Room was spacious for such a central location. Would happily stay again.
The staff was really friendly and welcoming, the location Is really good, we really enjoyed our stay
Friendly staff, good location, no complaints
Friendly staff and good location in the old quarter. You can also book tours with them if you want to.
The room didn’t have a window which made it feel a bit depressing. We didn’t manage to properly master the air con, so always felt either too hot or too cold.
Stayed here for one night before we flew home to Aus. The staff here are sooo kind. We really enjoyed speaking to them - the man speaks good English. They organised our taxi to Hanoi airport and we paid 270k vnd. Located in a great spot in the old quarter. 10 min walk to train street
We liked everything
You have to book this property. The owners are so incredibly lovely and helpful. You have to book your tours through them, they have great tour offerings at a great price. I would definitely come back
Recommendations and support from Thomas are much appreciated! All perfect ! Hotel and room but also trips they offer are good quality for this price
A comfortable, quiet, relaxing stay. I was offered an upgrade with balcony but asked for no window instead (= no street! It was so quiet). The host is always happy to help. There are so many places to choose from in town, this one should definitely be under your spotlight.
I work as Reservation Manager at a 5 star resort in Bali and as a hotelier itself I could say that this place is truly exceptional. If you have never been to Vietnam yet, it would be best for you to come here first as the owner will happily give you a lot of helpful information and recommendations, also the transportation rate that he offers is cheaper than online transport there. The location is great as you can reach many popular places by walk, just ask the owner for directions and some 'hidden gems' as well in the Old Quarter.
None
It’s was in a perfect location, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The stand out part was Thomas he made our stay excellent. Thanks to Thomas we booked an incredible trip and ensured we had a great time even after we had left his accommodation. Would recommend this accommodation to everyone.
The location is brilliant for exploring Hanoi and especially the Old Quarter. The rooms have all the necessities you need and the beds are comfortable. What truly makes this hotel stand out though is the manager, Thomas, who ready to welcome you, help you and give you great energy around the clock. Thank you Thomas!
Really comfortable room, good aircon, lovely bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Organised taxi to the airport for us for a little less than price of Grab. Excellent location right in the heart of the old quarter beside the markets.
Everytime we left, they turned off the trip switch for our room. It was done sneakily. It made the fridge in the room pretty pointless.
Great place for me to stay after landing in the old quarter for a couple days. A relaxing place to regroup and swim. Shopping nearby and cooking food was awesome.
Free room upgrade from the very friendly staff! Opened the doors at 2am to let us in :) Also organised a car to the airport for us for cheaper than grab prices.
The hosts are extremely thoughtful, accommodating, and helpful. They helped us book tours to Ninh Binh right after a big typhoon in Vietnam, allowed us to use their personal bowl when our food delivery didn't include one, and saw that our room was cleaned daily. We were always greeted with a smile and good conversation. I highly recommend this place to anybody.
Meticulously clean. One of the most gracious owners I've ever met. Retro style hotel Chinese teak furniture. Rooms had an understated feeling of simple elegance 1950. Extremely quiet. Extremely close to a very exciting area of the Hanoi old without actually being caught up in the pandemonium of the old quarter at night.
A walk up. No elevator. Only a small window in bath room.
The hotel is located in a great area, all sites in the old town are close. The room was clean and spacious. Thomas who worked at reception was amazing! He was so friendly and helpful and really added to our stay.
The shower leaked a small bit but nothing major!
It’s in a very good location and the owner is a delight. The room we had was spacious and quite nice.
It’s a little noisy from the street.
Staff was very friendly. Close to everything
No elevator and was on the 5th floor. Had to go up and down 5 flights of stairs to tell them my power was out
The owner was the kindest most generous man who helped me with everything
Nothing it was all good
It was a good location
We had a very warmgreeting stay in that nice hotel! The room was spacious, very clean, well furnitured and we were in a very good location with shops and restaurants around there. The owner and his family are wonderful! They take care of every need you have and they are very friendly and respectful people. They also offer tours and transfers to your next destination. We warmly recommend them <3
A realy helpful staff
The location is very convenient and the street is not too noisy. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Thomas is extremely nice and helpful, he was always there for us, gave us some good recommendations and helped organize transport.
The manager and his family are so friendly and helpful, it was really a pleasure staying with them. Very comfortable bed and I enjoyed having a bath. Needed to get some incense just before leaving and Thomas lit one of his and sent me to the amazing market round the corner holding the incense so I could show them what I was looking for. Had found what I was looking for in about 3 minutes. Really funny ending to my 48 hour Hanoi experience. Loved it.
Friendliest host! We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you so much 😊
As mentioned by many others, ‘Tomas’ is an amazing host; always willing to help and answer any questions. Great location and walking distance to many attractions in the old quarter. Obviously not a luxury hotel but great value for money!!
Maybe a little outdated but didn’t expect luxury when booking this place so can’t really find anything I didn’t like :)
We had a great stay at moonlight hotel! The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The owner was also very helpful and a lovely host! Recommend if you’re in Hanoi
Really kind and welcoming staff. Thomas, the manager, will always welcome you with a smile and is always kind to help. He upgraded me to a better room for free and had no problem with me having late check out. Rooms are clean, aircon working good and no noise from outside. Very recommended.
-
It's got everything - money changer, trip arrangements, a quiet and safe place while being at the center of happenings, and last but not the least, a kind and responsive hotel owner :) Room is bang for the bucks given its location at the heart of Hanoi, just walking distance from the old market and restaurants. Also liked how considerate and easy to coordinate Thomas is given our last-minute requests. And when I requested some information even after my stay, he still accommodated me.
None :)
Great location, very comfortable. Thomas has been really helpful, he upgraded our room which we really appreciated
Good location, nice staff
The shower water was cold
The hotel manager is super helpful and friendly. The hotel was actually the only thing that I liked about Hanoi (I'm no fan of honk town, a.k.a. Hanoi). The bed was comfy, and the room very good.
The rain was a bit noisy on the tin roof next to the window. But the room was quiet nonetheless, as it was not on the side of the street.
Location very nice. The staff very friendly and helpfull.
The comforter very thin buat still okey.
It’s an ok place
The owner Chung is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. He couldn’t have done more for us - he absolutely made our stay, even keeping our bags when we went to Sapa. Great location. Comfy bed. Really good value for money.
The towels always smelt damp which was unpleasant. We were on the fifth floor and there’s no lift so it’s quite a workout each time you leave your room (but Chung very kindly carried my bag all the way up!)
Super comfortable and clean room! The staff were so nice and welcoming.
No windows in the room, but it makes for a good sleep!
The owner was wonderful and so helpful, organised our pick up from the airport and gave us great recommendations. The room was lovely and big and it's in a great location.
Nothing!
Hotel owner was very friendly, helped and arranged for airport pickup and drop off, also organised transport to Ninh Binh which was better than I had already booked. The location is in the heart of the old quarter, but on a fairly quiet street. Had a nice big room with all amenities. Very good value for money , I would use this hotel again.
You have to be aware there is no lift, but was not a problem for me.
We rallye like to stay With moonlight hôtel, room very big and clean, Thomas hello me to arranged halong bay and sapa very Good price
My mum and I really enjoyed our stay! It's close to the center and you can find supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, pharmacies.... All over around. They were really helpful and friendly. They can help you to organise different tours and give you good tips for the city! There is always a smile that welcomes you ! I recommend the place! Thank you for the hospitality!
Ok for one night.
Great stay here, good location, clean and big rooms. Thomas the owner was very accommodating!
The staff is very welcoming and make you feel excited to stay there. They are ready to help with anything and have plenty of great suggestions to share with you. The location of this hotel is perfect! There are tons of AMAZING restaurants nearby. This hotel is still in the Old Quarter and in walking distance to everything, but also not in the center so the traffic and noise is much better.
