The school vibe was nice and the room was amazing. You feel like want to use the desk and study hahaha
All good!
Safe campus location in middle London. Helpful friendly staff
Lovely staff, functional infrastructure, great location, travelling as a single woman - felt safe
Having to leave my room to use the toilet … and there was some level of outside noise (I did have the windows open)
Very nice building. Big room. Nice staff.
Walk from elevator on 4th floor to room very long including several stairs up and down, so that would be a problem for a person unable to carry luggage
Good value, a quiet comfy & clean room, while most students were still on holiday. Loved the breakfasts in the Great Hall!
Because my single room was unavailable, I received an upgrade. I had a very nice and large corner apartment. It was roomy, had a kitchenette and own bathroom. The accommodation was quiet and the bed was fine.
The room seemed to not have been used for some time as there was some dust. However, this was not a big issue. Some of the staff members could have been more friendly, but others were nice and helpful.
Excellent location which was walkable to central London. Surrounded by parks and greenery in a quiet pocket. The rooms are basic but very clean and perfect for a solo traveller. I had a lovely view of a park. Staff were very helpful.
Could have used a kettle but wasn’t a big deal.
Fantastic location in leafy Bloomsbury, 10 mins walk to Russel.Squate tube and various buses for easy access to Victoria ( bus 38).& west end. Upgraded to a 2- bedroom apartment which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Tasty, good value breakfast (english or continental).in the impressive 'Great hall' (think Happr Potter vibes). Couldn't fault it
Nothing
Breakfasts were fine.
Room lacked aircon; window opening restricted; no daily cleaning; and only one flimsy pillow
Raum, Ausstattung, tolle, ruhige Umgebung!
A közösségi terek, a szoba is rendkívül tiszta, a személyzet kedves, segítőkész. Standard kétágyas szobát foglaltam, azonban meglepetésemre lakosztályt kaptunk (standard kétágyas szoba áráért). Tökéletes volt minden.
Nem volt ilyen.
Room was clean and comfy, quite bare as is to be expected of an empty uni room, but great value and the staff at check in were lovely
A kettle for a coffee or tea would have been a welcome addition
This is a superior student residence, designed for adults with landscaped gardens, good security and professional and friendly on-site staff. It's in a particularly pleasant and interesting part of London, while also close to Euston and King's Cross stations. The single room I booked was obviously a student room, but maintained to hotel quality. The shared bathroom and shower were opposite my room on the corridor (though it took me a while to realise how close they were). I didn't explore the catering facilities, but there are good coffee shops offering breakfast in nearby streets, and of course excellent restaurants. For the location in Central London (and in the high season, when I stayed there), the rate is very good.
nothing
The space, the reception workers and the location.
It smelled completely molded in the kitchen, the sink hasnt been cleaned for some time and the cupboard beneath the sink was too gross.
The dining hall & location
Great Location..near Kings cross. Lovely grounds, quiet, big room.with fridge.Big double bed. Good showers and plenty of them.Access to kitchen is fantastic.
Electricity wasn't working in the nearby pantry. Could've done with a fan in the room in the hot weather as windows don't fully open.
Location.
No A/C, it was July and very hot (they didn't even close curtains to keep it cool).
Location was great - perfect for our appointment at great ormond street - Rooms very clean - comfortable beds. Breakfast very reasonable price and good choice of items.
It’s basic but that’s okay just don’t expect luxuries. The bath panel was damaged/broken so just didn’t look great. Shower head looked like it needed a descale.
Air conditioning
The location was great
The bathrooms were dirty and mouldy
Large spotless room in a postgraduate University accommodation facility. Room was great - spacious, clean, and in a really quiet quad building set amongst quiet residential neighbourhood, although right in the centre of London. There is no hotel style reception or concierge etc, although 'check-in' was smooth and easy from the 24hr manned service desk as you entered the building. The room had hard wood floor, no carpets, desk & also a fridge and mine was en-suite (others were advertised with shared facilities). No aircon, but two sash windows opened for fresh air. The bed shown in the photo was a single bed, mine was actually a mid-size, closer to a UK double bed width than a single. Only small criticism is that it only had one pillow and I normally prefer two - I should have asked for another but was too tired by that stage! There is an on-site self-service cafe and also a bar/coffee shop style facility which had great food at really low prices too (main dinner meal was £9.90). Room has no TV, although in the cafe there is communal TV areas (thsi was a short 2 min walk form my building). There are no hotel-style communal areas, there are other communal areas e.g. library etc. Was a great find and great place to stay, when you need a good bed, good shower and relaxing environment -- all spotlessly clean.
* Good location: 10 minute walk from Piccadilly line and Russel Square station. * Convenient room fridge: The in-room refrigerator was a nice touch. * Reliable elevator: There was an lift/elevator which worked perfectly during the stay. * Easy access: The keycard entry system functioned without issues. * Decent shared facilities: The shared toilet and shower were perfectly fine. * Friendly front desk/registration staff.
* No air conditioning: The room had no AC/aircon/air conditioning, relying only on an open window. * Broken internet: The Wi-Fi did not work at all on the second floor, and forced to rely on mobile data for the stay, which was very frustrating.
Tout était top comme toujours 👌😉
J’ai tout aimé
In winter - it might actually be a nice place to stay. The room was big enough, bed wasn’t comfy though. Location is the best thing about the hotel.
Do not stay here during summer. The heat in the room was unbearable!! No air conditioning or fans available. I’ve experienced sauna’s colder than the room. Went out and bought a fan but wasn’t much use as the room was already heated. Ended up sleeping on the bare floor as it was the coolest place and having cold showers regularly. Worst experience and a huge waste of money. There was also some sort of event on, a drinks reception of sorts.
Beautiful buildings and setting - 15 minute walk to my office which was so convenient. It felt very secure and friendly and I think if it hadn't been for the heatwave I would have had a very comfortable stay.
The shower room was right outside my room but it was out of action so I had to walk a long way round to the next one. The lift was also out of order and it was very hot to climb 3 flights of stairs. The window's lock to leave it open was broken. I had to ask for a fan which was available but it would have been good to have one in the room automatically. There were dead flowers behind the radiator so I don't think that had been cleaned for a while.
Quiet Location in a kind of college campus next to a park with many trees. close to St Pancras station, spacious room, good bed and great shower. Very helpful and nice staff. Nice relaxed vibe.
On a hot summer day the building turns into an oven😅 It was warmer inside than outside and without airco. Also the building lacks some kind of natural ventilation. Maybe it is global warming and old buildings were not made for this kind of weather. So, had some difficulties to sleep even with the windows maximum open ( it stayed almost 30 gr inside) You feel like a student again in this building which is very nice but 200E per night are not student prices. Wifi was very slow or not working at all. So, not handy for the digital nomads visiting London.
Clean
Nothing like advertised. Some of the furniture was in a derelict state. Oven didn’t work. Neither did ethernet sockets. Despite high temperatures, not even a fan was supplied. Inadequate cooking utensils, no frying pan etc. Just another educational establishment ripoff.
Very friendly and a nice clean room

location
On Saturday morning, I was woken up by very loud screams and chants outside my window at about 9 am. My window faced the internal courtyard, and the screams were coming from some sort of festival taking place at 9 am on a Saturday in the courtyard that all the rooms face. When I contacted the hotel (which manages the stays) to ask about it, I was answered by an extremely impolite woman (Rose I think) who kept on saying that it is their right to host loud events at that time of the day and refused to even apologise for it (in addition to implying that I was the one in the wrong because most people are up by 9 am on a Saturday). There were also minor disturbances (people chatting loudly in the courtyard until late at night, a guy hanging out on the female floor), and the bathroom wasn't cleaned often enough for a shared facility (toilet paper was missing half the time). There was no fan or A/C, and the only bedding available was a very warm duvet, so I would advise against this option during the summer.
Beautiful property and location with a pretty quad garden to sit in. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The quality of food was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Being an old building the room was like an oven, the single window only opened 8cm so no ability to get any air in. The staff were helpful and found a fan for me but it was extreme temperatures for London and whilst it helped to move the hot air around it didn’t cool the room. These third floor rooms need air conditioning or the ability to open the windows and even a ceiling fan would be better as it could be left on with the curtains closed to reduce the heat coming in.
Great, central location with decent facilities and a good breakfast at a reasonable price. Room and bed etc were basic, but functional, nice view over the park. Would recommend as a good budget option.
I asked for an extra pillow and toiletries three times and received nothing. The room was extremely hot and there were no mitigations other than the limited opening of a window, only a problem in a heatwave!
Friendly staff, lovely building and location
First room toilet didn’t work, moved to second room which was much less clean . Not hot water for a shower.
Extraordinary cost/quality balance. London center, very safe and quiet, spacious room, clean, comfortable desk and chair, even air fan, plenty of showers and toilets
A peaceful and green setting in the heart of London. Nice food too.
WiFi included. Desk (though I didn’t use it this time, so useful generally). Washbasin in the room. Working fridge in the room! On-site buffet style cafeteria where I had a very reasonably priced, good quality breakfast every morning.
Bed was comfortabel.
Russell Square Station.
The location is great for an exploration of london. The premises are beautiful and the atmosphere inside is tranquil and friendly. The staff are super nice & very helpful. The room is basic but has all the amenities needed. The bed is comfortable!
I stayed there during a week which was a bit warm (but not extremely hot) and the room was too hot, due to a lack of proper ventilation.
Lovely building. Really spacious apartment. Good bathroom and nice products. And really handy to have the kitchen.
Kind and helpful staff. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed and great location with it being close to the Train stations

The location was good and within walking distance of a lot I wanted to do. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The price was reasonable compared to other nearby options. The room came with a fridge and sink.
I was there during a heat wave, and the room never got remotely cool — combined with construction that started around 6 a.m. in the courtyard I overlooked, I barely slept. I was initially sent to the wrong building. I still have no idea where the bathroom and showers I was supposed to use were — there were a couple right by me that were locked, and a front-desk person gave me access on my key on the second day but said they were supposed to be for students. Before that, I was going really far away. The Wi-Fi was super spotty. There were no hangers in my room. I also wasn't given any info on the dining hall, library, or any of the other spaces.
Calm, clean accommodation in central London. Great breakfast!
Excellent location for movement and Russel Square area has a good mix of meeting points
WiFi quality in room was poor and having to move to Freddie's @London House for bandwidth not always practical. Surprised they could not provide more than 3 hangars for clothing. Regular clearing of dustbins in room would add to comfort.
Basic correct, authentieke refter, historisch kader , eerlijke gerechten, vriendelijke bediening
Perfect location. Safe, friendly. Good value.
Flat a bit bare & run-down.
Nice experience overall, no loud students at all.
Showers were a little old with limescale.
The location was great. The staff were exceptionally helpful and very polite. There could be information shared about the dinning facilities and other options at the college, i.e., bar gym,
Lack of facilities in the room. No TV, never changed towels or bed linen! I would have expected the rate to be much cheaper given these issues. The rate was far too high for a basic room with ensuite bathroom.
Great location, comfortable room, good breakfast. I will probably come back.
Overall is excellent.
The apartment is on ground floor and facing bike parking and the construction work near the entrance.
I love the location, the peace of Mecklenburgh Square and the 1920s Bloomsbury atmosphere.
At this price (>250GBP/night) I expect wifi to work; tea and coffee to be provided along with the kettle; a less desolate room; and some kind of shared space to sit outside the room. Saying 'this is student accommodation' doesn't cut it when it's advertised as a hotel.
Fantastic location. Nostalgic.
Todo genial
Las camas
My ensuite room was clean and the staff were really helpful. The have a canteen for residents and it has good food seven days a week.
As a Hungarian citizen, I’m used to dorms in Hungary often being less than modern or perfectly clean, so I had modest expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Goodenough College Uni Residence — it exceeded them in every way. I chose it based on the positive reviews and central location, and I’m glad I did. The building has a romantic, elegant aesthetic, and my room was spacious, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed. The soundproofing was excellent — I never heard my neighbors — and I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as fresh towels and small toiletries provided upon arrival. I stayed in a room with a shared bathroom, but I must say, both the showers and toilets were consistently clean and well-maintained throughout my stay. (The room itself had a double bed (yes, it was comfortable), mirrors, a sink, a fridge, a giant wardrobe, chest of drawers and a big desk with a comfy chair.) The garden area is beautiful, made me feel like I was in a Taylor Swift-Love Story music video. (oh and the cute terrace, I fell in love with that.) The staff were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful when I asked for local recommendations. Their assistance made settling in much easier, and I really appreciated their welcoming attitude. Overall, I’d highly recommend it — not only for the amenities and cleanliness but for the quiet, elegant atmosphere it provides.
Honestly only one thing comes to mind: I wish the shared showers had built in hairdryers.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8/10Generally praised as very clean (rooms, shared showers); however a few mentions of dirty/mouldy bathrooms, a damaged bath panel and a descaled-needed shower head temper the score.
Service
9/10Staff repeatedly described as friendly and helpful; free luggage storage and attentive café/service are noted positively.
Location
9.5/10Consistently strong positive: excellent, convenient location (near King’s Cross, suitable for appointments such as Great Ormond Street) and pleasant grounds/courtyard.
Room Quality
8/10Rooms described as spacious with comfortable beds and fridges in some rooms; however accommodation is basic for some guests and issues like limited window opening and broken panels were reported.
Amenities
7.5/10Good shared kitchen access and plentiful showers, but notable negatives: no air conditioning or fans in heat, occasional electricity issues in pantry and intermittent/weak internet.
Value for Money
8/10Many found meals and breakfast reasonably priced and good value; a few guests felt student-room pricing (no private bath/no breakfast) was high.
Food and Beverage
9/10Meals and café frequently praised as good, copious and good value; dining hall also mentioned positively.
Overall Experience
9/10Overall positive stays thanks to location, pleasant courtyard and helpful staff; some discomfort from heat and isolated cleanliness/amenity issues but guests generally willing to return.
