Train and highway noise. Arthur's Pass is a scenic but 'tight' valley and sound echos. Unfortunately, KIWI Rail spent several hours switching diesel locomotives which was very noisy.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Easy walking distance from the train station and staff were exceptionally helpful - especially giving advice about what to do in town with a toddler on a rainy day, and enabling us to both check in early and check out late. We would 100% stay here again next time we come to Arthur’s Pass. The unit was well stocked, and easy to walk into town. Beautiful views.

I really didn't like the bed to much, was bit hard for us. Singles the teenager said was comfy as. 🙂, train was a little noisy but goes with the experience of staying there.

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026Our room was lovely, the heat pump was put on prior to arrival, which was welcomed. The accommodation was comfortable from the couch to the bed. Parking was right out the front. Fiona was great the deal with. Could not ask for better. Would happily stay here again.

The accomodation is at the beginning of town and so a reasonable walk to the store. Bring what you need to eat with you as food options are very limited.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026Perfect cosy, warm cabins to stay at Arthur's Pass. We've stayed here on our last three trips now, on our way from Christchurch to the West Coast. Perfect every time. What a beautiful, wild place to wake up in! The beds were a bit soft for me, but all the same I slept like a log. Special mention to the hosts. Welcoming and helpful.

Arthur's Pass is a small, remote town with limited resources. Only 2 restaurants were open, only one past 4:30 in the evening, and only one opening at 8AM. That limits your dining options.

The hosts obviously enjoy living in Arthurs Pass and sharing this thoughtfully with their guests with local tips. Thanks for the very comfortable, warm and clean accommodation - great value for money. This was a great base for exploring this beautiful mountain park, and to relax. We will definitely return.

Reviewed May 20, 2026I loved my cabin in Arthur’s Pass, the location was perfect in the village, my cabin was bigger than expected and had everything I needed. Kitchenette was very functional, bed was comfortable, the pillows were incredible, and one of the best hot showers I’ve ever had. The view from the cabin was phenomenal. My check in process was very easy and welcoming, and loved the lending den. This is a beautifully run family owned business.

The unit was very warm, with plenty of heating and bedding. The staff/owners were friendly and made helpful suggestions regarding food options and walks/sights. The prices was very reasonable for the standard of accommodation.

The photos do not show the inside of the room, but only the other 2 rooms available, which is what I based my booking on. The room we were given, unit 9, was very old, dated and was more like a family shack than a motel room. I think the photos are very misleading.

El alojamiento es perfecto para desconectar, ya que goza de bastante tranquilidad y está rodeado de un entorno precioso, pero con la ventaja de estar muy cerca de los puntos de interés de la zona. Muy buena limpieza y la habitación destacaba por su comodidad, ideal para descansar tras un día de montaña. El personal fue muy amable y atento en todo momento; se nota que cuidan los detalles, por ejemplo, hasta una botella de leche nos dejaron. Sin duda, una opción muy recomendable para disfrutar de la zona.
Por recomendar algo, más menaje de cocina vendría bien.
