A warm welcome and options to eat at the property

The location, warmth of the host and the caretaker Vee and the fact that it just felt superbly homely. Spacious room and great bathroom facilities. The thoughtfulness - Awesome to have electric blankets on the bed as Joburg was quite chilly in that week and really welcomed this!

Beautiful place, able to store our luggage which was great.

We weren't the usual clientele for this place and I felt like the host treated us as second class at breakfast. We weren't really spoken to at the breakfast table, while host was continuously checking on other guests and getting them everything they neeed. Our breakfast order was muddled, my partner ordered tea and toast both mornings which never arrived, (even after asking), while tea and toast was fetched for the other guests. Felt like as we were young, we were overlooked. The housekeeper also clicked his fingers at me to get my attention, which I don't love. In general although we liked the place, we felt we were treated as less important guests, we both separately came to this conclusion and admitted it to each other.

Host was very helpful in advance, was fine to arrive early, and our room happened to be ready. Spacious rooms, parking, Ubers plentiful, restaurants bars etc within 10’ drive. Good breakfast

I was delighted to return to Leighwood Lodge for many reasons: the rooms are very comfortable, I always feel welcome by the owner and the staff, it is also extremely well located 10 mins from Sandton City, 5 mins from Hyde Park, Dunkeld Center, and 4th Avenue in Parkhurst. I would not stay anywhere else.

Wir wurden so freundlich empfangen! Da es schon fast dunkel wurde und wir nicht so hungrig waren, wurde uns ein Imbiss gereicht. Auch der Wein fehlte nicht. Am nächsten Tag wurde angeboten, für uns am Abend zu kochen. So konnten wir tagsüber ganz entspannt unterwegs sein. Wir brauchten uns um nichts bezüglich einer Reservierung zu kümmern.

It’s a beautiful property a little bit outside of Johannesburg city centre. The rooms are well equipped, you have a pool outside and the hospitality especially during breakfast is amazing!

Great location, very cheerful and helpful staff and beautiful garden. The breakfast was prepared as per individual taste and served in the grand dining room of the main building. The rooms and bathroom were big and airy.

The decor is a bit tired and appliances need an upgrade. One of the refrigerators was very noisy and the door on another one didn't close properly. The AC and wifi didn't work because of a lightning hit recently. It didn't bother us much but we would've appreciated a heads up.

My stay was fantastic.Everything was super.

Location was brilliant the breakfast superb and tasty and the staff so friendly and helpful and delightful - we loved the garden and the outside area - it was so peaceful and calm

Couldn’t fault it at all

The guest house and friendly staff were superb. Loved the location: we walked to the Rosebank Mall (15mins) and local restaurants (8-10mins). We felt safe walking day and evening in this location. Highly recommend.

Everything ❤️ It was our second time staying at Leighwood Lodge and for good reason! The incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming staff always make you feel right at home. The beautiful, peaceful, well kept gardens provide a calm space for you to rest, relax and unwind. The breakfast is out of this world. The cozy bed and luxurious feeling linen make for a fabulous night's sleep. Just love our stays here and have already booked our third stay 🥰

Room was very chilly and there was no heating besides electric blanket

Mostly everything was excellent.

The shower head was sub standard. The kitchen area / fridge could be better.

We were greeted for our late check-in and were made to feel welcome right away. Leigh is a born host—so very helpful and accommodating. She even made us a dinner reservation, dropped us off there and insisted on picking us up after dinner. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. Would stay there again no question and will certainly recommend to anyone traveling to Johannesburg.

It is a beautiful property with large, modern, and comfortable rooms situated in a lovely garden. The best part was the owners and the staff—simply the best.

The staff at this property were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Breakfast was delicious and tailored to our preferred time, which was a nice touch. The security was excellent, and we felt safe throughout our visit. Our room was comfortable, with lovely decor that made the space feel inviting.

Beautiful gardens, quiet location but still convenient to visit a wide variety of areas of interest. Leigh and her staff were exceptionally hospitable - they were incredibly kind & happy to help with anything, going above & beyond to make us feel comfortable & welcome. Communication was excellent. The rooms & bathrooms were large, comfortable & filled with lots of very thoughtful touches. The garden & pool was beautiful & there were comfortable sitting areas which were particularly helpful as we had a late evening flight on our departure day.

Location may be a little too suburban for some.

Leighwood Lodge has oodles of charm from the roses to the china tea cups and antiques… and the tranquil surrounds make it a very relaxing place to stay. The rooms are big with all the facilities you’d expect eg hair dryer and tea and coffee & a very reasonable mini bar. The en suite is large with an option of shower or bath.

Located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, the setting and garden were beautiful, as were the rooms. The attention to detail was great, and Leigh and her staff went out of their way to make us feel special.

Lovely large room, well appointed with a fridge and satellite TV. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The owner Leigh, even drove to the car rental office, so she could bring me back to the lodge after I returned our hire car.

We loved the people and the facilities so much , that we couldn’t move . We stayed all the following day and relaxed

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was brilliant and in a very safe neighbourhood. The room and breakfast were really good also. We even received an avocado as we are vegetarians. Brilliant place!

We had a wonderful stay at Leighwood Lodge - everything from the location, beautiful gardens, comfortable and spacious room and excellent hospitality was perfect. We would love to stay again soon!

Beautiful gardens, excellent location

There was a lot to like: the room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and ready to answer any question. The garden was big and full of trees. It was a lovely space to just sit and relax, and also to bird-watch. The breakfast was delicious, and served right on time. The location is on a leafy street, with several restaurant options nearby as well as closely located to the Zone@Rosebank, with more restaurants and the start-off point for the Hop On Hop Off bus, which was a relaxing way to cover a lot of Johannesburg. We'd gladly come back to Leighwood Lodge.

Wonderiful place, in a very good and safe neighbourhood in Johannesburg. The room is really large, with all comfort needed. Beautifull garden with a nice pool. Good restaurants and shopping nearby. Staff is very helpful and nice. Leigh, the owner of the lodge, is fantastic. Helpful with any tips, wishes and fun. If in Johannesburg, stay here.

Wonderful experience! I had a number of requests in terms of our stay and Leighwood exceeded them. The lodge is beautiful, rooms very clean, staff friendly and available to help.

Perhaps an overflow parking area when its busy.

The minute we arrived we were welcomed by Vee who took our bags and showed us around. The guest house has a stunning garden with a beautiful pool. Leigh also welcomed us with a much needed g&t after the 7 hour journey back from Kruger! Our room was spacious and had tea, coffee, drinks and snacks. The staff really make this place. They really care about you having the best stay possible. Thank you so much Leigh and Vee!

Beautiful property with a lovely garden and pool. Our room was super, great size with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. Appreciated the fresh ground coffee and cafetière. Located close to many good restaurants and easy drive from the airport. Best part was the wonderful hospitality of Leigh, Tug, Sheila,Vee and of course the other staff who made our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back and thank you all.

The area was lovely, beautiful trees, spacious homes and a generally great area.

Lovely lodge with spacious rooms. Great breakfast served. Very friendly and helpful staff. We would happily stay here again. Arrangements for airport pickup worked out perfectly.
