We received a friendly welcome from the staff who were then very good throughout our stay. Both the evening meal and breakfast were super. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

The bar / restaurant area lacked some comfortable seating where our group could retire to after eating.

Shower in bathroom very wobbly controls and not very big area either. The sides of the shower seemed too close to the shower head, insufficient room inside really.

The Greyhound is an absolute gem in what seems the middle of nowhere but only a 15 minute drive from Taunton Food was excellent, portions massive. Our room was really spacious and serviced daily. Breakfast choice was really good using quality ingredients All the staff we came across were really friendly and helpful, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends.

The only downside for me was the bed was a little on the hard side but for someone else that might be perfect.

Last year friends recommended having a roast dinner at The Greyhound Inn in Taunton, Somerset. The roast was delicious and we decided to stay at the Inn this year. We booked for a week in the 'Diamond' room on the ground floor and it didn't disappoint! The room was spacious, very clean and had a lovely large comfortable bed. There was a fridge in the room which was replenished every day with two bottles of water and two wafer biscuits which was a great touch. It had a large shower room. We had breakfast, included in the room price, with a variety of cereals, juice, fruit and cooked foods. There were a variety of main meals which were tasty, well cooked and plentiful. The Inn had a large car park. This is truly a diamond in Somerset and well worth a visit.

Everything was as we wanted it to be. We couldn’t fault the location of the Greyhound, our en suite bedroom or the food were great. The lady who welcomed us on arrival very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was wrong

The staff were excellent and were particularly helpful in dealing with my wife's gluten free dietary requirements. The room was very comfortable and the evening meal and breakfast were really good.

A very minor point but it would have been good to have had a few more gluten free options for breakfast - especially bread. Not a major problem but maybe something to consider.

The hotel / pub was a lovely, the staff very friendly, the beer excellent. The room was very large and whilst we did eat there in the evening the menu looked great, the breakfast selection was extensive with the full English a joy to behold, kept me going for all. Would definitely go back there day.

We stayed and paid for a triple deluxe room. The room was small with no third bed or room for a third bed. There is no wardrobe, just three hangers on a small metal rail screwed to the wall. Room and bedding were clean but the carpets in room were dirty and stained. Hotel was fully booked and so I think we got the "last puppy in the shop"

Perfect location for our stop over from The Midlands to Cornwall. Plenty of parking, staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Good choice of beers and great food. Would definitely recommend.

All round excellent and the breakfast was 5 star!

The pub was very quaint with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The food was good in a very pleasant laid back dining area. The breakfast menu was good also.

The bedroom was rather warm at night even with the heating off and we both found the bed rather uncomfortable.

The Greyhound is a really lovely inn, set in the countryside, but fairly close to Taunton. There is ample parking. The rooms, we have stayed twice and stayed in two rooms, are really lovely, especially Room 1. It is lovely to have complimentary water and caramel bars in the fridge. Everywhere is beautifully clean and the rooms are serviced daily. Breakfast was beautiful, with a varied menu and cooked to order, we recommend the omelettes and Eggs Benedict. The evening meals were great too. Staff were all lovely and went the extra mile.

The stairs up to the room were a bit steep, do ask for help with luggage.

The room was superb, clean, large, very comfortable. The Inn itself is charming with lots of lovely character. The evening food was lovely as was the breakfast, staff incredibly friendly, nothing negative to say at all.

This is our third visit to the Greyhound and we really enjoy staying there, it is situated in a lovely village and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. We also had an evening meal which was delicious.

My daughter and i were looking for a short stay around Taunton area. We were collecting her Wedding dress from from a beautiful hall in wellington. The Greyhound Inn looked Perfect for what we were looking for. It was in a Quiet and a beautiful location. We were not disappointed at all when we araved. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The bar staff and food was brilliant 👏 We felt our weekend was too short, because of the area and the fabulous hospitality that was given. Lovely sized bathroom, and amazing high beems in the bedroom. So many places to visit and experience. The Pig, being one you must visit. Thank you to all the staff at the Greyhound inn.

Superb country pub with great rooms. We had a room in the main building. It was large comfortable and perfect for an overnight stay. Staff were friendly and Breakfast was fantastic as was the roast dinner.

The location was great, room was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good, could ave had more of a continental selection. I had the omelette form the hot options which was nice.

The room was clean and tidy and the space was well used, In the shower the grout had mould which is easily fixed with bleach spray and a sonic scrubber.

We were on our first trip to Taunton for the 30th December Raceday. The Greyhound is perfectly placed for the course and was a really comfortable, homely country pub with a Dinner and Breakfast (included) Menu for all tastes and superbly cooked. I was able to thank the chef when we booked out. Our Room (No 2) was brilliant and so so comfortable once we had sorted out the windows and the heating. The lack of traffic noise was such a bonus to us. Any time we are back at Taunton the Greyhound is a great value for Money No Brainer!

OK! Everything is top rated so these are observations. When shown the room guests could probably do with a quick instruction how to seal the windows from the cold air. The staff were brilliant but there needed to be more staff working especially post racedays as everyone piled in after the racing. Notably on the morning of the 31st December as we were booking out, the one staff member was distracted by taking down the Christmas decorations and preparing for New Year's Eve as well as serving breakfast. There was a big rush to give us our bill and get it paid before we had time to even look at and check it!

The breakfast was great and the service was very attentive. The room itself was very clean and comfortable.

Great location, fantastic parking, wonderful staff and good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was swift to the table and good.

The room needed redecorating, the carpet was not fitted properly and made it feel shabby, there was too much noise between the rooms.

Lovely spotless accommodation. Great food and wine! Karen at breakfast was amazing!! Went above and beyond. So wonderful, friendly and happy - made our stay!

The location was a fair way from anywhere else, about 5-6 miles from Taunton. It was quite wet when we were there and the car park is not surfaced making it quite messy getting into vehicles.

Like so many hotel rooms it seems to have been designed by a man (and i'm a man lol). Needs good lighting near a mirror and socket so my wife can do her makeup & hair, plus more hooks in the bathroom for towels wash bags etc
