Location was great.

The young staff were so helpful & very polite. The room was spotless & the white towels were so white & fluffy. I wasn't expecting much for the money but would definitely stay there again before my cruise

I knew when I booked I was going to be staying on the 2nd floor & wouldn't get my large case up the stairs. However, I was a bit nervous leaving my case downstairs in a passage way where other residents & had access to.

In a really good location within the Old Town. Very good value, clean and comfortable.

It was a great location and staff were friendly and amenities as expected.

Bed wasn't massively comfy and I got woken up by a washing machine banging at 6am. It also wasn't to my cleanliness standards, needed a good hoover and spritz.

Treated dreadfully by the manager who didn't believe the room was paid for and refused to look at the evidence shown to him - the receipt produced by booking.com. In the end it was left to the general assistant to deal with as the manager walked off in a strop.

We liked being above the pub and next door to several restaurants on a pedestrian-only street. Also a short walk to the ferry to the Isle of Wight.

The room was very warm (no air conditioning) and the toilet was tricky to operate. Also there were two flights of steep, narrow stairs up to the room, which we were aware of but didn’t like. The pub staff was extremely helpful with helping us carry our baggage up the stairs, though.

It was a lovely little room for a one night stay. It was a bit warm for my liking but I liked the fan in the ceiling , which helped , incorporated with the ceiling light. Being a bar/restaurant I expected it to be noisy but any noise was not intrusive. I help out in a cat rescue centre near home so was delighted to meet ' Bongo ' next morning ( at least I thought it was him! ) whilst I was waiting for my taxi ! I thought he was the Landlord surveying the scene , bless him ! Thankyou for a lovely stay. Stuart.

Room was a bit warm for me but heat rises of course and unless it is air conditioned is hard to prevent. The fan was nice tho' !

Very good location, easy to find on the right of the Oxford Street, close to many restaurants, pubs. I had a wonderful stay. Say hi please from my part to Bongo (the cat). The staff is very helpful and kind.

The location is great, its a quite popular area. People were quite kind. Room was clean.

As its a crowded area, it was a bit noisy. Isolation was good but I cant say perfect. So if you have problem with some noise / loud music etc, it may not be great. It wasnt a problem for me.

Lovely central location in a lively part of town. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very comfy bed. Staff happily arranged a taxi for the following morning for me.

This is an old historic property. Lots of very steep stairs. Fans were provided, but in the heatwave it was still very warm. The pub does not serve food (but there are several other places to eat in the same area or you can order in.)

Stairs!!! And no fan in our room - unseasonably hot and despite having the window open, there was simply no breeze, making the room very uncomfortable. Additionally, our room faced out over Oxford Street and be a Friday night. The noise from the crowd downstairs was horrendous plus lots of doors, banging and marching up and down the staircase, but for one night we put up with it, but I doubt I would stay here again unfortunately it’s just too noisy..

A comfortable, spotless and pleasant room conveniently located near cruise terminal. It's on a charming block with nice restaurants and pubs. A friendly welcome, and handy to have a pub downstairs!

Consistent cleaning and assistance, which surpasses my expectations as in some cases when there is accomodation above a pub it can be more of a lazy service.

The bathroom was a good size but it smelt musty & damp.

We loved the large room and bathroom, tea and coffee facilities and the fan to combat what was a hot spell of weather. The location was perfect for us as we were attending a gig nearby, and the nearby public car park very handy. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful, and we also appreciated the discount for guests at the bar of The Grapes and also XOXO across the road, The neighbourhood had a few bars and restuarants, and felt safe to walk around in after dark. We would recommend The Grapes to anyone, and stay again should we find ourselves in Southampton in future. Thanks for a great stay!

Direkt auf der Oxford Street - zu Fuß alles sehr gut zu erreichen. Vom Flughafen 15 min und zum Cruise Terminal 10 min mit dem Taxi - Cruise Terminal geht allerdings auch gut zu Fuß. Das Zimmer Sauber und ich hatte ein Zimmer nach hinten raus ruhig - von der Bar ist nix zu hören. Wichtig es geht eine schmale Treppe zu den Zimmern - Team vor Ort findet allerdings für alles sehr schnell und freundlich Lösung. Ich freue mich jetzt schon in 14 Tagen hier nochmals Übernachten zu dürfen.

Expect nothing fancy. It feels like a pub that just happens to have some rooms available. Everything is outdated.

A nice room in a great location only a 20 minute walk from the Southampton cruise terminal. As an added bonus hotel guests enjoy a 10% discount on all beer, wine, and spirits in the pub.

Our only complaint was the lack of air conditioning. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but in the middle of a heatwave (like the one we experienced in late June) our room was like an oven.

This was my second stay at The Grapes. It is a perfect location for where I needed to be and surrounded by lots of options to get something to eat. 10% discount on bar prices was a nice touch too.

It was a little noisy outside late at night so I didn’t get to sleep until the early hours but that’s only to be expected during the summer when there is outside dining nearby. I wouldn’t put me off returning.

Leider gab es in dem kooperierenden Café gegenüber sowohl Montag als auch Dienstag kein Frühstück, im Hotel selbst auch nicht. Schade.

Having no air conditioning during a heatwave like the one Southampton experienced during our stay was a nightmare. Our room was like an oven.

The vibe of its location in Oxford Street, it’s close proximity to the centre of Southampton, Westquay, Ocean Terminal and of course the customer service level provided by staff.

It was in a lively location but quietened down at midnight so it was not noisy come bed-time. The value was good and the staff were friendly.

The room was a little warm and there was no air-conditioning, but fans were provided to help. There was no food available but was plenty of eateries in the area

Никогда не видела отеля при пабе. Дверь рядом с пабом, приходилось открывать своим ключом, который мне выдали. Крутейшие пролеиы лестницы, по которым надо взбираться со своими чемоданами. Обратиться практически не к кому. Единственный челрвек, который готов помочь, Анни. Она великолепна. Я ей бесконечно благодарна. Без нее я бы в этом "номере" задохнулась. Окно не открывается, вверху есть вентиллятор, который работает вместе с электричеством. Есть пульт от него. Но молодой человек, который меня заселял, понятия о нем (пульте) не имел. И я всю ночь и почтми весь следующий день ьыла без воздуха. Пока Анни не показала, как этим пультом управлять. К нему еще приспособиться надо. Холодильника нет, лифта нет. Ну что - отрицательный опыт - тоже опыт. Это из раздела - что не понравилось. Переписывать не буду

Having stayed in several other "rooms above the pub" it was exactly as expected. Just fine!

Situé au coeur de la vieille ville et son architecture, ainsi que des services. La chambre conforme aux attentes située à l'étage avec vue sur la rue.

Une vue sur rue avec de nombreux bars convient mieux à des couche-tard. Suite d'escaliers étroits permettant difficilement de monter une grosse valise, donc prévoir un petit bagage pour la nuit et de laisser la grosse valise dans le lobby.

The location for me was excellent, busy little street with restaurants and bars. Room was nice and clean. Bar staff were very helpful and friendly.

The room at the top of the stairs should have a blind. As soon as it gets light outside, the room lights up. Take your own black out eye shades and ear plugs. The sea gulls start around 5am. If you have a case and are travelling from the railway or coach station, get a taxi for around £7. It’s a longer walk than the 15mins advised time.

It’s a cosy pub. So convenient for a single fella staying, before a cruise. It’s clean, simple and friendly. Also, you get a nice % off on drinks in the bar.

Location ! location ! Went on a Celebrity Cruise. The port is only less than a mile. We walked from the port to the hotel. Friendly staffs and very helpful lady housekeeper.

Kein Abendessen und Frühstück. Das Zimmer liegt über der Gartenwirtschaft des Restaurants und kann darum sehr laut sein. Spilet ebei uns im Winter aber keine Rolle.

Unassuming small venue, but obviously run attentively. Clean and friendly. I had the single room at the top and there was no disturbance from the bar activities. Have booked again for May 26 and will use permanently for my cruise travels from Southampton.

De houding van het personeel bij ontvangst. Het geld stond nog niet op de rekening, dus we mochten niet naar onze kamer. We moesten maar een ander adres zoeken. En dat terwijl we ons nog eens keurig op de dag zelf vooraf hadden gemeld en men bovendien via booking.com aan onze gegevens kan komen. Contant betalen kon ook niet. Enorm gebrek aan mensenkennis kortom, want we zagen er niet bepaald als schooiers uit. Uiteindelijk met creditcard betaald. Normaal wordt het geld automatisch vooraf van de rekening gehaald; nu blijkbaar niet. Maar zo ga je niet met je klanten om.
