Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options available, including Full English. We love coming here as it is Dog Friendly and the staff always make a fuss of her ! The location is excellent too, as it is quite central to local attractions, including Beaulieu, Exbury Gardens, Bournemouth to name a few
Having to leave
Staff friendly , welcoming and very efficient. Room well appointed. Lovely bath and shower and all very clean. We had to leave early so did not have breakfast. I hadn't realised the hotel had its own restaurant but would definitely would eat there next time as the menu was good and the food smelled delicious.
Noise for the road was audible and I did not find the pillows comfortable but other then that it was a great stay
Breakfast was very good. staff very friendly. room was large and clean. parking was good location was good
The room was clean but needed having a bit of attention to it a freshen up
Staff on reception very polite
Room was lovely clean and tidy bed was comfortable.

Great location and All the staff were very professional and friendly.

Staff pleasant and helpful
Floors in room created incessantly, no hot water in sink in bathroom (shower ok though)
Staff were friendly
Excellent room, good breakfast, great location
Free parking
It was further from the town than expected. Only about 10 mins walk, but I thought is was in the town of Lyndhurst. The breakfast portions was relatively small compared to other hotels and the choice very limited. It was ok, but during our 20 day UK trip staying in various places (2 nights here), this was the worst breakfast.
Nice and quiet.
Nothing to dislike, apart from my room was very dark. I would check next time that I have an unobscured window.
Good location, friendly staff, good facilities
Nothing
Breakfast was just right however having to order the night before posed a dilemma as both nights we were out eating and the first night I ate quite a lot and couldn't manage my full English breakfast however if I had ordered on the day I would have just ordered toast. Our room was ok for what we needed.
Ordering breakfast the previous evening as we eat out when on holiday and I ate so much in the evenings that come breakfast time I wasn't able to eat all I had ordered and felt this was a waste of food.
Breakfast was served quickly, the full English was freshly cooked and plentiful. The room was good, apart from the dormer window which was difficult to open/close and a bit of a H&S issue for tall people. Dinner was delicious. The staff are great. Plenty of places to sit and relax, including underneath the pergola at the front of the hotel. Fabulous location for walking in the New Forest.
The garden furniture looks very tatty and needs cleaning - painting the wooden tables and chairs would improve the garden area enormously.
The room was very nice, but a bit more attention to detail would improve our stay, lamp shade old and torn, area around tea making facilities needed cleaning , tea splashes on wall and skirting board, enterance very old and worn not at all enviting, carpet in hall and stairs dirty and worn, paint work on stairs and door chipped and old. Generally the enterance was very old and most uninviting. The garden needs attention as looks unkept, with a tidy up could be a pleasant seating area. Eat on one night in ther restaurant ,I had fish cake was very greasy and over booked, breakfast was some what better.Dout if we would stay there again.
Location near to forest, but main rd traffic spoilt silence.
We would recommend the Ormonde to anyone. Staff so nice and polite, lovely clean room with nice decor. Will stay again. It beats other hotels in the forest and it made our holiday so enjoyable. Graham and Pixie
Large room with electric fan for the hot weather. Very close to village of Lyndhurst. Fabulous staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast
Nothing
Staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Hotel is pretty and tastefully decorated. And close to lots of places of interest to visit. Our room was lovely and comfortable. Will definitely return.
Nothing - no complaints from us.
Cleanliness
Congestion, especially getting in and out of Lyndhurst.
Second time staying here and no faults whatsoever. Staff friendly as ever and rooms clean and comfortable
Nothing not to like
Old style hotel rooms were good size room
The hotel is in a great position, on the edge of town and near access to the New Forest. I can’t drive, so was dependant on lots of walking and local busses. The staff were helpful and friendly, although I had to argue to get a decent room. As a woman travelling alone I often find myself allocated a not so good room, and that happened here. The room I was offered had no window, apart from one near the toilet, and that looked at a metal fire escape! Anyway, I argued for a better room, and was happy with it. I had dinner there on two evenings, and the food was excellent. I would stay there again.
Very good location, lovely staff and breakfast.
Good sized rooms
The breakfast was good and there is parking.
The bed was extremely short. My partner is 1.90 metres tall and was unable to fit in the bed. In addition, the room was very hot due to the lack of ventilation, which made it difficult to sleep. On top of this, the hotel was extremely noisy throughout the night (tv noises, screaming children) which made it impossible to fall sleep.
Another great weeks holiday here. The staff go above and beyond for you. My wife and I have been staying here for the last 4 years, sometimes twice a year and absolutely love it here, you almost feel like part of the family. The location is perfect and the rooms have always been spotless. We have just returned home and whilst there booked up again for next year and we're already counting the days.
We stay here for the Beaulieu Supercar weekend every year and we love it. The staff are so friendly, polite and helpful. The room we have is spacious, clean and comfortable. We have easy access to Lyndhurst Town.
Quite a plain breakfast but dinner was excellent - all home cooked. The toilet flush was barely working and there was a big leak in the shower pipe. Room on top floor -2 landings- with no lift and a narrow staircase with narrow steps.
An ideal location just 5 minutes from the town centre with parking. Perfect facilities for my husband who uses a mobility scooter - ground floor, walk in shower, space to charge scooter in the room. Delicious breakfasts and evening meal - Nepalese curries in particular. Warm friendly welcome and offers of any help from Raz, Susie, Karen, Bina.
Served drinks outside. Comfortable and clean. Parking was ok.
No credit facility
Location Easy parking Easy to find Clean Only a few minutes walk to the town centre
The heat, we were provided with a fan but it was still hot. It was exceptionally hot weather.
Smoked Haddock and poached egg breakfast as good/ better than many ‘posh’ hotels. All ok. Everything worked.
Owners very lovely and room was lovely. Good fantastic
Nothing
Very friendly family run. Great parking, 8 minutes into the heart of town. 5 minutes walk into the New Forest
fantastic holiday at ormonde house hotel great food and service as always spotlessly clean dog friendly family run always very helpful been staying here for over 20 years always a five star experience
Brilliant location
Disappointing room - broken fan (which was replaced the next day), light fittings not working in bathroom so main lights had to be used, which was disturbing when using in the night. It was reported but sadly not fixed during our stay and no explanation as to why was offered, neither was an alternative room offered. Also the shower holder kept collapsing, spraying water around the bathroom and so needed to be held, leaving only 1 hand to shower with. This seems to have been flagged as an issue from October but still hasn't been rectified. Along with watered down shower gel, didn't give a great impression or justify the price we paid. We didn't try the restaurant as orders were asked to be placed with 1hrs advance notice for evening meals which seemed an excessive amount of time for a professional kitchen. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before. Many other restaurants in walking distance all managed to cook food to order without needing so much notice.
It is well situated but on a busy main road. Double glazed windows so we slept well. Pretty garden and pergola to sit under. Room was very large very clean and comfortable and well provided as was the en-suite. It is a family run hotel and the staff were lovely kind and helpful. The food was delicious and well cooked and presented. Would definitely recommend and will return ourselves.
I personally would have just liked a less heavy dessert on the menu ie : perhaps a fruity one
The was room was too hot although the room had a fan there was no ventilation, If we were to book again we would only book a room with view. The Breakfast was really nice and plentiful. The staff were great and very helpful
Heat in the room, no ventilation, no window view
staff all friendly and very helpful
room was very hot even with fans so didnt sleep well bed was comfy
Our visit was lovely 😍 we felt very welcome. Everything was organised and went like clockwork. We had a ground floor room , because we both have mobility disabilities Beautiful shower with lovely handles . Staff were so helpful and friendly ☺️. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked. Bed very comfortable Will definitely stay there again
There was nothing.
Spacious room, lovely staff
Hard to get a taxi from location. Full English could be little bigger
Location to Lyndhurst, clean and nicely decorated, big rooms, friendly staff and breakfast was good. Very relaxing sitting on the patio.
No aircon, but that’s not the hotels fault that it was so hot the weekend we stayed.
Spent 2 nights here during heatwave. A welcoming hotel, family-run. Staff friendly, and very helpful at all times. Very comfortable rooms, lovely bathrooms, spotlessly clean. Food excellent, very freshly prepared, generous. Separate authentic curry menu! The hotel is not air-conditioned but fans are provided in all rooms. We did have a problem the first night as a neighbouring property had left their dogs outside at night and there was a lot of barking. A word with the manager and the neighbours were asked to keep dogs inside, which they did. Two small things which would improve the stay - some bottled water in the room would have been nice (although jugs of fresh water and glasses are freely provided at mealtimes so you could take some to your room) and a non-slip mat in the shower cubicle would be useful for older guests. Other than that, an excellent stay.
Loved staying here, excellent location, the room was super comfy, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was delicious.
No comment as we loved it all
Staff, food and location were very good, would definitely go back.
We had a budget room which was adequate for one person, but was a bit small for a couple, also there was no frosted glass (or blind) in the bathroom, I covered the window with a towel for some privacy . I will book a better room next time.
Friendly clean and convenient
Suffered a little due to the extreme heat but a fan was provided.
Such a lovely, friendly hotel. We have stayed a few times now and the service is always 1st class. We always enjoy a curry here, delicious. We will definitely book again.
Excellent breakfast. Just the right amount to start our day.
Very difficult to find any negagive feed back. Rush hour traffic noise with open windows.
Lovely spacious room with a very comfortable king size bed. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Had a very good evening meal and breakfast.
Nothing
We stayed at Ormonde House Hotel for one night. The host and staff were all lovely and hospitable. Our room was very nice and clean and very big, and the bed was very comfortable. The tea/coffee/milk etc in the room was fully stocked. We had a very tasty full english breakfast. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay here again, when we are next in the area.
Close to town, also queir location

Comfortable room and good location lovely friendly staff

Out experience of the Ormande Hotel was exceptional right from the booking till departure. The location was beautiful and the atmosphere was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and management. The room was clean, tidy and I couldn't fault it giving us value for money, we were offered room service but didn't need it as it met all our needs already. It was a pleasant experience with a tranquil stay the staff including the management constantly making us feel welcome and pampering to to our needs I'm disabled and they went above and beyond to accommodate me moving chairs in the dining room etc. The food is tasty and a good offering on the menu. Reasonably priced you get a fair deal here with a friendly family feel not always met by big establishment in fact we will be returning for more great experiences due to the welcome and our treatment throughout. You won't go wrong staying here. Kindest regards Ormande Hotel, see you again soon. Mr and Mrs Staddon.
Great central location right opposite the park and a short walk to the high street.
Room very clean, staff friendly, food good
only a small quibble - a bottle of water in the room would have been good
Clean well presented room Very yummy food in the restaurant
Great customer service
Loved it all
Excellent location and room. All food was very well presented and good value. Pre ordering/booking of meals ensured prompt service and freshly cooked food. Seating and patio area really valued in the hot weather.
Wi fi and tv signal poor, probably affected by the extremely hot weather.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location with plenty of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and evening meal cooked beautifully and excellent value for money compared to local restaurant prices
Nothing unfortunately we visited in the heatwave and the room was hot even with the supplied fan.
This is a beautiful family run hotel, family and staff are super friendly and helpful. Set in a great location with plenty of parking. The rooms are nicely laid out and bathroom of a high standard. Plenty of choice for breakfast cooked how you want it. Lovely choice of evening meal menu, cooked fresh ready for your requested dining time. Also cheaper than the restaurants in town. Unfortunately we came in the heatwave and the rooms on the top floor were hot, the hotel provided fans in the rooms, so did all they could to make us comfortable Highly recommended
think a dog may have been for a wee. The room smelt strange
Great location for the New Forest. Onsite parking and short walk to town. Comfy bed and good room size. Pleasant staff at reception and in restaurant at breakfast time. Lovely flower garden surrounding the property.. Dog friendly.
Bathroom maintenance could be better. Loo flush was broken. Room #10 layout was bizarre and not well thought out from a guests perspective. Nicely cooked breakfast was let down by very low quality food items. Also, preordering breakfast the night before seems excessive. Buffet style might be better if its a food waste issue.
The location was great, the room was spacious and well equipped. The food was delicious and fresh as it is all made to order
The property is a little dated
Nice large room, very helpful and friendly staff
Nothing really, very cost friendly hotel
Not a good breakfast but adequate
Pre order system was not to my liking
Great staff, all very friendly and helpful
Some road noise if the windows were open
Freundliches Haus

The people were lovely and the bathroom was lovely.
I'm not sure what was wrong with the breakfast, maybe better quality bread would have gone a long way and serving orange squash instead or orange juice was a let down. Our bedroom, although adequate was very depressing in the grey decor and it needed two comfy seats.
Staff were nice and pleasant. Cleanliness easy walk to Lyndhurst
Traffic noise. When trying to sleep
Pleasant room, clean with lots of coffee/milk/tea.
The room was very warm, and the traffic noise was constant throughout night, so you couldn’t open a window - therefore unfortunately it wasn’t a restful night. The noise maybe different at the back of the property.
Very welcoming place. Would book agsin.
Breakfast was freshly made as was dinner and both were very well presented and very tasty. My room was exceptional, very roomy and had an electric flame fire which was lovely. the room was large and had a door to a little patio which was good as it gave access to the garden and car park.
The only thing that was a bit of a bore was on repeat music at dinner! It was the same every night which is fine for those staying one night but longer was a bit annoying. I could have eaten elsewhere but the food, service and prices were so good I didn't bother, plus I had been out on my nike all day so I was tired!
Very nice hotel if a little old fashioned (no telephone in room and having to pre order dinner and breakfast). Excellent location in the heart of the New Forest and a few minutes from Lyndhurst town centre. Room very comfortable and nice having a bath rather than just a shower. Also free parking as a bonus. Lastly first class staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning. Recommended.
Its a wonderful hotel the room was very airy , bright and clean . Its only a short walk to the lovely town of Lyndhurst . The staff were wonderful they could not have been any more helpful . We enjoyed our stay and we will be returning sometime so this is a big thank you to all of the wonderful staff .
There was not anything I did not like.
Lovely location, friendly staff, very comfortable.
The location just outside Lyndhurst is excellent. There is plenty of parking. The room was very good. The staff were friendly.
Breakfast needed to be ordered the night before and evening meals at least an hour. Breakfast was disappointing due to small portions on some menu items and none of the normal extras eg fruit, yogurt, cereal etc. A few minor tweaks would make a big improvement.
Friendly staff. The location was perfect. Outside seating under the wisteria was perfect for a coffee. Overall a good stay.
WiFi was poor. The room was rather basic.
Lovely big room. Comfortable bed. Excellent, spacious bathroom and loads of space in the room. Very easy to find and conveniently located for the job I was doing in the area.
The only issue for me was that breakfast was served too late for my needs. I had to be onsite at work before the kitchen opened. Shame, because the food in the evenings was excellent!
A very pleasant hotel. Staff were charming. We were very pleased with our room on the ground floor
There was nothing to dislike.
Location. Free parking. Friendly staff. Comfy beds.
I would have liked breakfast to be available earlier. Having to settle for 7.45am as the earliest time is not ideal.
This hotel is a hidden gem. The staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We had a curry one night and was one of the best so well worth trying. Our room was a deluxe and plenty of space with a spa bath with shower over but be aware of the steep and narrow stairs to the top floor. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. There is a gate opposite the hotel which leads to a lovely long walk. Lyndhurst village is literally a 5 min walk with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. I would also recommend Forage restaurant up on the right hand side serving amazing Italian etc and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back to this particular hotel.
All staff absolutely wonderful, always smiling and extremely helpful, accommodation very clean ,food and drink lovely and very well priced, 5 minute walk to village centre
