Very close to Paddington station (5 mins walk) meaning you can easily get anywhere in London. Quiet neighborhood which is good as the windows are old and do let the noise in. Be aware this is a budget/basic "hotel". It is just rooms with no other facilities at all. Which is fine if you are out enjoying London all day. We enjoyed our stay and thought the price was fair for what you get
Very friendly staff, always avalible and eager to help! Definetly good value for the money and the location is great! I'll book my next stay in London here for sure!
This place is nice. They are so nice . It’s close to the underground so will be able to visit London easily . The area os quite and nice too
Very good stay and very good location ! The hotel was clean and people were very nice ! I recommand if you want a good value for money.
It was clean and silent! We like speaking with people and they were very nice. We spent 3 good days. Very good value for money. I recommand.
The location was amazing and the staff were really nice! There are supermarkets and lots of restaurants near by as well so it is very convenient!
The location of the hotel is amazing the underground is close by and hyde park is just 3min Walk. The room was clean and the service was Great. It’s a Great place if you go to Londen with Some friends and need a place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Europa House Hotel in February 2026 as a couple visiting London. The location is fantastic—quiet, charming, and perfectly connected to public transport, making it easy to explore the city while still feeling relaxed at the end of the day. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, exactly what we needed during the winter season. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile, which made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and the great value for money. Europa House Hotel was the perfect base for our romantic trip to London, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for couples looking for comfort, convenience, and a pleasant experience.
Europa House Hotel is a welcoming, family-run hotel located in the Paddington area of London, valued mainly for its excellent central location. Situated just a few minutes’ walk from Paddington Station and close to Hyde Park, it offers easy access to public transport, major attractions, and airport connections. Guests often highlight the friendly and helpful attitude of the staff, which contributes to a pleasant stay. The rooms are simple, clean, and functional, providing essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, and private bathrooms, although they are relatively small, as is common in central London hotels. The building is traditional and does not have a lift, which may be inconvenient for some travelers. Overall, it is a practical and affordable option for short stays.
The staff at the Europa House Hotel are friendly and so helpful. I have a knee problem so emailed a couple of days before check in to ask if it would be possible to avoid too many stairs and was allocated a ground floor room. This was especially appreciated on the Saturday late evening when I was in a lot of pain having been out and about for much of the day. When I checked in and on each occasion I entered and left the hotel I was greeted with a smile. I wanted to rest my leg on the Saturday morning and asked about the time housekeeping was done. I was told I could cancel the housekeeping if I wished and should I require anything to be replaced, I just had to ask at Reception. This was perfect. My room was clean and comfortable, and a reasonable size for a single. The tea/coffee tray was very well stocked. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. There was no noise at all to disturb me. The location is close to Paddington Station and there are plenty of eateries around so the hotel not doing breakfast was no problem at all. In fact it was nice not having to worry about getting showered and dressed in time for breakfast, I could eat at my leisure just a few minutes from the hotel. All in all I could find nothing to fault at this hotel and would be happy to book again if in the area. Thanks to all the staff for contributing to a lovely weekend.
Brilliant b&b lovely room great location will stay again great staff very clean .lots of restaurant s and shops around there .
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had a great time. The atmosphere was family-friendly and the staff were incredibly friendly! Good value for money. The bed was a little too soft, I almost sank into it, but it was fine for a few nights.
Clean, bit on the small, alright for one night, and for a solo traveller. My favourite bit of Europa are the staff, friendly, polite, can't do enough for you. Just great people.
Great location. Parking space available and pre-bookable outside the front door. Staff welcoming. Rooms are fairly small (particularly single rooms) and somewhat tired, and there is no lift. But clean and functional and one of the best options for a relatively inexpensive short term stay in this area.
Great little hotel, good location. Reception staff really friendly.
I've stayed at this lovely little family owned hotel a few times! Everything in my title is correct: it's certainly no frills, but it's conveniently located, clean, safe, quiet, and friendly! Then entire staff is delightful (I particularly enjoyed my interactions with Abubakar and Usman, but everyone is kind and helpful). Also, though it's great to be near the station, and there are all sorts of convenience stores and chain restaurants, be sure to explore the areas that are the *opposite* direction from Paddington, on the way to Hyde Park, etc! Charming and eclectic shops and eateries away from the beaten path.
Room ok size but washroom a bit small. Shower stall by my measurement maybe 30x30 and need to be careful not to bump the faucet controller when turning. If you are a multi-tasker you can do your business and washing at the same time.
It is in a great location. The room Offered was very up in the attic on 4the floor. Carrying luggage could be challenging.
As always, the caveat that I’m reviewing this in comparison with other 2-3 star hotels. For a budget hotel, and in particular a budget room, this was fine and did not disappoint. Yes the room is very small but it’s as advertised, it’s a budget room. The bed is comfortable enough. The bathroom is tiny, the shower is particularly narrow so is not the easiest for a tall person, but it’s workable for one or two nights. However, the most important factor is that the room and bathroom were clean. The window opens enough to allow a lot of air in and there’s a fan attached to the wall above the bed. The room is very quiet. Finally, a mention for the friendly, welcoming staff whom it was a pleasure to meet. Overall, a decent 4 stars.
Typical London budget accommodation near public transport. Fine for a night or two given the proximity to Paddington and generally good value for London. But strictly no early check in, small basic rooms, creaky floorboards, banging doors and unfriendly staff.
Good location
Good beds, tiny bathroom, room was uncomfortably warm and the windows didn’t open enough to let fresh air in though fans were supplied
Paddington Station and Hyde Park Nearby
Tiny bathroom in urgent need of a new shower head, okay-ish size twin bedroom (okay for the price). Comfy beds. Very helpful staff who arranged parking when I hadn't booked any and who lended us his personal phone charger. Great location, few minutes walk to Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Good breakfast options closeby.
Staff are superb
I travelled by myself and this property worked well for my needs (very convenient to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express). The price was right too. On the downside, my bathroom was extremely small and tight, but private so thankful for that. The rooms are small with lumpy beds and dated furniture/decor, but overall not bad. That said, I enjoyed it and plan on staying there again. One cautionary note: I came-in late at night and my room was on the top floor. The staircase is very narrow and there were NO lights (almost twisted my ankle). Be careful !
I stayed at this hotel during my trip to London and had a great experience. The room was clean, cozy, and just right after long days of exploring the city. The location was super convenient—everything from cafés and shops to public transport was just a short walk away. What stood out the most was how genuinely kind and helpful the staff were. They were always ready to assist, whether it was directions, local tips, or just a friendly chat. I’d definitely stay here again!
View was of a wall and walls paper thin.
Perfect central location. Room was very small but for the price for central London very convenient, did not mind for couple of nights. Very clean and tidy. Great WiFi. Thank you. Will be back
We stayed for the weekend & everyone was really helpful & friendly. Our room was clean & fans had been provided as it was very hot weather. The hotel was also convenient & easy to get to Hyde Park, close to Paddington tube station, shops , restaurants & pubs. Would recommend
Typical budget accommodation for the area. Single room on small side but not unusual for the area. Room was clean and functional. Pleased to see a fan as it was very hot on day of my stay
Very friendly welcome. Clean and well equipped.
Excellent value for money. Was able to sleep well here.
Helpful staff
A well located hotel for Paddington station. The check-in and service were friendly and helpful. The room was fine but a very small bathroom with little space to maneuver.
Good for a budget stay. Small rooms in an old building with lots of character but could definitely do with a refurbish. Carpets and linens have seen better days. Staff are lovely. Location is excellent if you’re comfortable with the London Underground. Bit if a walk if you’re not though. They charge you for luggage storage if you need to store your bags. £5 if after 2 pm. Only major recommendation is to invest in some quiet latches for the doors. You can hear every single door slam at all hours. Would stay again for price.
Excellent location for key tube lines , nice area, good limited off road parking. Staff pleasant and helpful. Competitively priced. Room furniture would benefit from a refresh but at this price perfectly adequate.
Our room was being renovated so there were issues there. The door to the room was very loose & banged through the night , it was finally fixed a few days later. Lack of linen- hand towels & nothing to wash or dry the coffee cups. We did extend our stay from the originally booked one night, staff were helpful with this. Overall the hotel was badly in need of renovations & brightening but a very good location would I stay there again? Probably not
Affordable price for sharing, walkable from paddington station, stay for short trip here, daily change of towel, even though no AC provided, Fan provided, staff excellent
Fine but small
It is close to public transport and in a good area. However, the room was very outdated and there was one fan in the room that could not battle the heat of that day.
Rooms a bit out dated
Excellent
On the + side this hotel is close to Paddington station, the room, bedding and bathroom were clean and there was a good selection of tea and coffee and staff were nice and on the - side hotel is dated and needs a refresh some of the furniture was dated, marked or in poor condition….. the mattress was not very comfortable but I did sleep okay and the room has a plug in fan that helped
Old building with extremely small bathrooms…closet size. Impossible to change clothes in. Probably standard for this area. Close to Paddington train and tube station. Walking distance to Little Venice, the canal and all the restaurants on the canal. Beautiful tree lined streets. Norfolk park close by.
Very close to Paddington station. Tiny bathroom, awful shower
Dated room and bedding. Bathroom was tiny and awkward. Pleased to have tea and coffee making facilities.
Europa House Hotel is a clean and comfortable place to stay in a safe neighbourhood, less than five minutes’ walk from Paddington station. My room was small and offered the bare basics but it was freshly decorated and well maintained and excellent value for money if you’re on a budget. The hotel does not serve breakfast but there’s all you need to make a morning cuppa in your room before heading out to get something to eat at a nearby cafe. There’s a small flat screen TV, a fan for use during hot weather, a tiny shower room with liquid handwash, body wash and towels provided. Ideal for a one-night stopover.
I've booked a budget single room on booking.com, last minute deal, No19 it was, now I can see it on the hotel website as a single extra small. I would be very optimistic to say it is a room , is more like a little loft adapted as a kind of a place to sleep. The space between the entrance door and the bed is giving you un option to rotate at 180 degrees and is about 50sm over 2m, the shower tray is about 50/50 and the water is going all over the floor. The most frustrating for me was the bedding , there was a pillow cover and duvet cover from some grey decorative material what clearly hasn't been washed after previous customers and I've ended up sleeping with jacket and cover myself with the single bed sheet available. Is easy to catch a skin disease when there is no proper hygiene where you sleep. Just wonder where are the inspection authorities allowing such places to run.
Clean and efficient
AVOID. AVOID Awful staff and manangement. Weird, musty, foul odour everywhere. Glad I didn't stay in the end. Better places to give your money to which have higher standards and more professionalism
Everything is fine except that the furniture and renovations in the room were a bit old, although the room was clean. Thank you.
I knew I would be staying in a smaller than average room but it was not much larger than a cupboard. There was hardly any room to move and it felt claustrophobic.
Comfortable
Reasonable budget option, don't expect frills because there aren't any.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Only issue was there’s no lift and we stayed on the third floor! We had to carry our luggage! Hotel was near everything though. Best area to stay but the stairs are not easy.
Great location to the underground and bus. Walking distance to all the major attractions if you are ok with walking 10 km a day (it was fine for us).
Can’t complain much considering the price for when I stayed but here are some negatives which weren’t good: - Tiny bathroom and hardly any legroom with the toilet so close to the sink - Tap’s running water was very hit and miss, sometimes ok sometimes barely trickling - Shower water was terrible. Not powerful and barely warm let alone hot - only a split second of being far too hot when turned up again but then goes back to warm - The two bottles of liquids provided in the bathroom were not labelled so had no idea what they were or their ingredients. This is surely against the law as could have been anything so I didn’t use them (see picture) - Cup and spoon provided looked like they hadn’t been washed properly in years (see picture) - The stairs to get up are very steep and creaky - The rooms aren’t very soundproof - could hear peoples conversations in other rooms and even snoring!
The hotel is central for Paddington and for Edgware Road and is one of the best London hotels that I have stayed in
It was clean, well priced for basic amenities and very close to paddington. We slept 2 adults and 3 young kids.
I appreciated the room and the rate, the continental breakfast was not sufficient for the price person.
Really helpful staff at reception. You will be paying a premium for the location, conveniently located within steps of paddington station in central London. Beds are comfortable but the shower and bathroom are very cramped. condition of the furniture, closet, and the room overall is rather poor and dated. Not a bad choice if all you are only looking for a place to sleep and shower after exploring London.
The room was clean but not soundproof so can be noisy during busy days. The bathroom was a bit small. The check-in and check-out was fast and easy. The price was affordable.
Upon arrival, was told my reservation was not at this hotel, but a 'sister hotel' two doors down. There was no notification of this before my arrival. Room was in need of some refurbishment. Damp patches coming through ceiling, unclean curtains, creaking beds etc. Bathroom was clean with a good shower, however.
Tiny, cramped and dirty, but for the cheap price so close to Paddington Station, I can deal with it. What was NOT OKAY was the fact that the desk clerk thought it was acceptable to put us in a room on the top floor with 7 flights of twisty stairs when my mom USES A CANE!!! He could clearly see she has some mobility issues and not only assigned us this room with all the stairs and no elevator, but didn’t even bother to offer to help with the luggage. My mom severely injured her bad hip and knee even worse going up and down that many stairs and it negatively impacted our entire trip. So don’t expect them to care if you ask to switch rooms, or care if you’re disabled. And don’t expect a clean room or fresh towel.
Stayed for a couple of nights during Easter holidays. Hotel and room clean and beds comfy. All the essentials you need during a stay in a hotel. It’s not the Ritz but you get what you pay for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location fantastic and underground literally a 2 minute walk away. Would definitely stay again
The guest room and bath room are very small.
Great value for money, great location, very friendly reception staff.
Very easy to find only a couple of minutes from Paddington station.
Great hotel for it's price range in a very accessible part of the city - staff were really welcoming. The hotel was quiet and tidy. Rooms were old style but comfy and clean. Would definitely stay again without hesitation.
The staff went all out to ensure any needs were met. Always friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and had everything we needed. Certainly recommend Europa Hotel
Close to many things and transportation, staff was friendly and helpful
Hotel is located about 7mins walk from Paddington station which is useful for taking the Elizabeth line to airport. Room is minimally equipped but has what you need for simple nights stay. It's suitable if you're not planning to stay in the room much. Do note that, as with budget hotels, there's no lift, so you might want to think about leaving your large suitcase at the reception and bring only your essentials up. Service is exceptional with Usman at the front desk, who is always polite, cheerful and willing to help. Keep it up Usman!
I seeked out the cheapest stay in paddington for four nights. I had what can be described as a box room. However, it was clean with a comfortable bed and heater. Also came with its own small shower and sink. The staff were nice and friendly. If your on a budget and just looking for a place to sleep i would highly recommend.
Stayed one night, two twin bed rooms. Would definitely stay again. Couple of minor issues, toilet flush not working in one room, but was fixed straight away. Toilet roll holder not fixed to the wall properly in the other room. Bathroom quite small, & shower might be an issue for tall or a larger size person, but it was ok for us. If your looking for an inexpensive stay in London, a couple of minutes from Paddington & Hyde park this hotel definitely fits the bill. We will definitely stay here again
reasonable , normal feeling
We only use our room to sleep in and maximise time doing stuff. Had a great nights sleep even looking out onto the busy road.
I had made a reservation in advance and paid the full amount of $3,738.38 for two rooms at the Europa House Hotel. Upon arrival, this bed & breakfast had no record of my reservation, and I was unable to obtain a refund or receive an apology. Although the staff were courteous and expressed regret over the situation, they attributed the issue to the unprofessional conduct of the owner who only spoke to me by telephone. I gathered my belongings and checked into the Paddington Hilton, located just four minutes nearby. The difference in quality and service was remarkable in comparison to the Europa House Hotel. Unlike Europa, the Hilton offered spacious, air-conditioned rooms, modern elevators, and a far more comfortable environment with large bathrooms. This hotel's convenient location at Paddington Station provides easy access to trains, the Underground, and nearby amenities, ensuring a hassle-free and enjoyable stay. I hope this review will inform fellow travelers and highlight the importance of reliable and professional hotel services.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. Both beds were poor with holes in the middle that you sink into and bare down to the springs. The shower didn't work in one of the rooms, but the team member was very helpful in helping to sort that out. The other shower was very difficult to get to a decent temperature. Some guidance on how to work the showers would be helpful. The bathroom drains were very smelly and unpleasant. One of the rooms was very cold with no access to the radiator. Spare blankets were provided.
Europa House hotel is an affordable stopover destination, convenient for Paddington, Hyde Park, Edgware Road and beyond. Reception staff are helpful.
I’m a solo business traveller and this was a very convenient stay for me. The room was excellent and good value. I’d recommend.
Suited my trip just fine
It was really close to the station, the house was very neat and tidy, the space for one person was very cosy and there was a hairdryer and heater which I really needed. The bathroom is also very clean and soundproofed. All in all a great experience!
I have the single room booked but the hotel administration changed it for a double one, which was very kind and helpful. The hotel has a excellent location in Paddington, too near to Paddington Station (Underground and Trains) and for Central Line (Lancester station), which makes you easy to move to all London! The personal was so kind and the room was so confortable and big. I would return next time!
It was a small room but for one person it was very nice! It was also very clean! And lovely and kind employees! Had a great experience! It was very easy to find and the hotel is placed very closely to the underground which makes travelling very doable.
Very friendly, great value
Amazing Place. Shaz was an amazing host and provided us with the most comfortable stay everytime we needed help thy were always there for us. Extremely clean and relaxed stay would recommend to everyone and very central location Also close to paddington shops
Best stay. Gulfam bhai (Shaz) was extremly helpful. Even Hassan was very helpful. We will come again soon. They gave us extra milk and changed blanket the moment we needed it.Thankyou for the most pleasant and welcoming stay Great time spent here
Stay Away!! I notified them from day time that I would be checking in late, they said "yeah, whenever you like". When I got there around 11pm, the door was locked. I was knocking the door for 15 minutes outside at freezing cold. If I knew what to do I would leave earlier. The guy opens the door after 15 minutes and tells me off. He was very rude. I asked him why are you so late and he says he wasn't late. I was exagerrating. He said he could prove from the cameras that I did not wait 15 minutes. What's WORSE is that such attention to precision was not there about the room they reserved for me. They gave me EXTRA SMALL ROOM, instead of single room as I paid. The room was so small that I could not take my jacket off. And I am no giant, I am a regular size person. Half of the bed was inside the wall. I made my booking agent call them and they refused to do anything about it. They make it look like it's somebody else's fault. Nobody booked for an extra small room but probably because that was the only one they had, they went ahead and made the booking to look like a single room. Little thief tactics to rob people. Never Again!!
The room, advertised on Hotels.com as an "Economy Single Room," was described in the hotel's system as "extra small size room." Hotels.com provided no information about the room's size, which was barely large enough for a mouse. When we complained that the room was not as advertised—arguing that "economy" does not equate to "extra small," and that even if it did, this information should have been clearly stated on the Hotels.com website—the hotel staff were unhelpful. They refused a refund, an upgrade, or even to acknowledge our complaint. Consequently, thanks to Hotels.com's intervention due to the apparent miscommunication between the hotel and their system, we left the hotel after only one night. Hotels.com agreed to provide credits to book another hotel. Fortunately, there are many other budget hotels in the Paddington area with better accommodations and larger rooms.
Stayed here fo 3 nights a week ago. The Hotel is in an excellent location to Paddington. The room was very clean. The gentleman on reception was incredibly helpful, hospitable and couldn't of been more accommodating. Thank you so very much for such a lovely break. Would highly recommend.
Terrible stay at this hotel. Central heating doesn't work inside the room so the room was freezing. Shower works only with very water so cold water doesn't which means you can burn yourself under the shower. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone
Really liked staying here - staff were friendly and the room was big and very tidy. Not luxurious but very good value if you're on a budget
The location is great for the price, but thats about all that is great. The room was dated, the tv small but by far the biggest issue was how tiny the bathroom was. It was like being in a wardrobe. Could barely close the door, cpuld barely turn around on the spot. Literally couldnt sit on the toilet without your leg banging on the pipe under the sink, and the sink you could only just fit a mug into it to get water. House keeping were helfpul and pleasant, the reception staff some were nice and pleasant and helpful, others looked at us as if we were trespassing when we entered the building even though we needed the room key to open the main entrance door.
Have stayed at Europe Hotel for a few years now. Have stayed in thier small single, single, double and family rooms. Single rooms are hot and miss, depending on the floor. The ensuites are rather small. Double and family rooms are great value, spacious, warm, clean with comfortable beds. Would highly recommend as budget hotel near Paddington.
Very pleasant.
Good location with easy access to everything you need. I had an issue with a mouse in my room, but staff resolved this and assured me they have a plan in place to deal with this - it is a common issue in the area.
