A beautiful hotel and a wonderful base for a stay in Venice. Ca’ Bonfadini is elegant, luxurious and full of character, with beautifully designed interiors and a lovely sense of place. Our room was extremely comfortable and the overall atmosphere of the hotel made our stay feel very special. The staff were without exception polite, warm and willing to help, and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would very happily return. Ca’ Bonfadini combines Venetian character, beautiful surroundings and genuine hospitality, and was a lovely part of our time in Venice.

The only area that could benefit from some refinement is consistency in service and training. At times, particularly with housekeeping, service felt a little task-focused rather than guest-focused — for example, there was occasionally a sense that the priority was to complete the room servicing at a particular moment, even when it wasn’t especially convenient for us. This was a relatively minor point in what was otherwise an excellent experience, but greater attention to this would bring the service fully in line with the very high standard of the hotel itself.

Beni nezaman görseler nasıl olduğumu ve bir ihtiyacım olup olmadığını sordular. Odalar çok büyük ve temiz, sabah ve akşam temizleniyorve havlular değişiyor. Kahvaltısı çokiyi ve lezzetli. Dama restaurantta akşamüstü kanal manzarasına karşı aperativo içmek çok keyifliydi. Venedik’e tekrar gelirsem kesinlikle burayı tercih ederim. Herkese , her şey için teşekkür ederim.

We loved our stay at Ca' Bonfadini! We've got a pleasant surprise - an upgrade to a historic room, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Spent so much time enjoying the frescos, and it added so much to our experience of Venice! Also it was really great that the personnel at the hotel took great care of our luggage storage and shipping.

Empfang, Lage, Zimmer (wir haben ein Upgrade bekommen) waren grossartig. Nur 2, 3 Gassen neben dem Touristen-Hauptstrom bedeutete wunderbar ruhige Dinner direkt am Kanal vor dem Hotel.

Die Taxibootfahrt vom Tronchetto direkt zum Hotel war sehr kurz und dafür zu teuer (100 Euro); dasselbe wieder vom Hotel rüber aufs Lido (Insel) für 150 Euro.

Beautiful building with great attention to detail. Lovely staff. Great breakfast. Liked the bathroom products too! Convenient to take water taxi to airport, as well as do some shopping. Free welcome drink for each of us - nice touch!

The hotel is a beautiful restored building and the rooms were fine. Getting there was a nightmare, and the hotel gave me NO advice before hand, although I was in contact with the concierge for months. At the airport I called an Uber and only when he arrived did I learn the hotel is only accessible by boat. Then the boat operator did not know where the hotel was or where I needed to get off, and even if he did it was a very long (2 km plus) walk carrying my suitcases. I felt the hotel needed to help guests with this difficult navigation. Ironically, I chose this hotel after a search for “Best Concierge Service in Venice:. I was not told there would be no concierge there (in the middle of high season?). Allegedly he was on holiday and the receptionist was supposed to substitute. And this is not the hotel’s fault, but taxi service is incredibly expensive. To get from the hotel to St. Mark’s was 80 Euros each way, so I spent about $300 AUD just to get back and forth. I would recommend staying at one of the hotels that has its own taxi

This hotel is perfection. We visited for our honeymoon and they upgraded our room. They left personalised notes and gave us drinks and snacks for free in our room. Great location. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, they were so kind and helpful. It couldn’t have been any more wonderful, we loved it and it was a perfect honeymoon. Thank you do much.

Venice is a city that is spoken in the mouths of all for its beautiful canals and vibrant architecture. Me and my wife had the pleasure to visit the floating city and this beautiful hotel for our very first anniversary. This hotel is equally as stunning as the pictures we saw online. The modern yet royalty feel of the hotel makes you feel luxurious and pampered. We had a beautiful upgraded view of the canal, which was a breathtaking sight to wake up to. We appreciated the classic touches in the room that makes the room feel put together and well furnished. We would have appreciated an early check in to make the most of our day however given this was not possible, we made the most of our time. The location of the hotel is top-tier as it serves as a central base for the exquisite tourist sites in Venice as everything is in walking distance. The train station is also really close by, which gave us the opportunity to visit lake Garda for a day. The hotel was very accommodating and even packed us a breakfast for the day. Our daily breakfast at the hotel was magnificent with multiple options that were appetising, despite only being halal-food eaters, which we devoured daily. The quality and standard of food was divine and we loved the premium atmosphere at breakfast. In addition, house keeping was amazing and our rooms were always spotless when we entered. The only point I would add, which doesn’t deter us from this hotel but as a form of constructive feedback is that the hotel ran out of steamers during our stay making it difficult to iron our clothes- having multiple irons or steamers would be appreciated for guests to feel comfortable. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel in the heart of Venice and no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay!

My husband and I stayed at C’a Bonfadini in May 2026 for three nights. It was my husband’s first trip to Venice and I wanted it to be excellent from the beginning. The hotel is lovely. It is in a renovated, retrofitted, 16th century Palazzo in the Cannaregio District overlooking the Cannaregio Canal. Historically this District was called The Jewish Ghetto and we saw where the Temple was (it was not open when we were there). It is a sweet neighborhood, fairly quiet, and very lovely with restaurants and cafes along the canal. Everything not in the neighborhood was a very short and scenic walk away! The hotel staff were all welcoming and took our bags up to our beautiful room - which did not overlook the canal - and they helped us get our bearings and made excellent recommendations. At first I was a bit disappointed by not having a Canal view room (I knew when I reserved it that I we did not have that view) but honestly, we were in our room so little that it totally did not matter even for a second. The canal is right outside the front door for when you want to see it! The Biennale was going on when we were there and so many of the exhibits were very close to us which was perfect - in old Palazzos and churches and museums. We took a water taxi from close by the hotel to the Biennale Giardini Pavilion - one of the two main Pavilions which houses 29 country ‘pavilions’ - totally an excellent experience in everyway from the ease of taking a water taxi from the Hotel to wandering the Pavilions. We also water taxied back to the Hotel. We did not get to Arsenale due to time constraints and we opted to check out the exhibits close by instead and honestly from what I have read - we made the right choice. The hotel is beautiful inside and our room was perfect. The breakfast was excellent. It was a buffet that had everything you could dream of - even for a gluten free vegetarian like me - and you can also order additional items off of a menu. The coffee also was excellent. They made a perfect cappuccino with Oat milk! I cannot recommend C’a Bonfadini highly enough. I would go back in a blink of an eye! My only caution is that the information we received about where to get off the Water Taxi from the Airport was incorrect and we ended up dragging our suitcases for about 15 minutes to the hotel. There is actually a water taxi stop directly in front of the hotel called Guglie and that is where you should get off and nowhere else!! The streets are bumpy (cobblestone) and lots of little bridges over side canals - be forewarned! Probably the best way to get into the City from the Airport is a private water taxi. It costs a lot more but it will be considerably quicker. We did not understand our options in advance and thought we were doing that. It took over an hour to get to the hotel from the airport using the public water taxi from waiting in line for the water taxi to all the stops before ours and then walking 15 minutes to the hotel - whereas a private taxi would probably take 20 minutes or so and drop you right in front of the hotel. Enjoy Venice!!

We stayed at Ca’ Bonfadini from 11th–15th May 2026, and without question it is the best hotel we have ever stayed in during our visits to Venice. Over the years we've been fortunate enough to stay at some excellent Venetian hotels, including the Bauer when it was open and, more recently, Hotel Palazzo Keller. Both were very good, but Ca’ Bonfadini was on another level entirely. The location in Cannaregio is exceptionally practical. It's only around a five-minute walk from Venice Santa Lucia railway station and sits directly opposite the Guglie vaporetto stop, making arrivals and departures incredibly easy, whether travelling by train or from the airport. Despite its convenience, the hotel enjoys a wonderfully peaceful setting on a quiet canal, with several lovely restaurants just steps away. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The restoration of this historic Venetian building has been carried out to an exceptionally high standard, with beautiful traditional Venetian antiques and elegant décor throughout. Everywhere you look there is another detail to admire, and the combination of history, luxury and authenticity creates a truly special atmosphere. We stayed in a top-floor canal view room, which was incredibly spacious. There was plenty of storage and hanging space for clothes, something that is often lacking in hotel rooms. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring double sinks, a huge walk-in shower and beautiful finishes throughout. The canal views were wonderful, and the room was such a comfortable and relaxing place to return to after a day exploring Venice. I slept exceptionally well throughout our stay. Breakfast was another highlight. The quality was outstanding, with beautifully presented displays of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and freshly squeezed juices. There was an excellent variety of options every morning, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Last, but certainly not least, the staff were exceptional. Every member of the team was friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and they consistently went above and beyond to ensure guests had the best possible experience. Their professionalism, warmth and attention to detail made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. They were truly the cherry on top of an already outstanding stay. Ca’ Bonfadini ticked every box for us. From the location and beautiful accommodation to the excellent breakfast and exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations. We would return without hesitation and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in Venice.

Myself and my Wife had an exceptional stay at Ca Bonfadini. The hotel is simply stunning, the staff exceptional and the food is excellent. From arrival to departure we could not have hoped for more from our stay and should we return to Venice, then I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Everything is very well designed and aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast was outstanding — fresh, varied, and of excellent quality. Overall, a truly memorable experience.”

The hotel and our room overlooking a canal were beautiful, the room was very comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent, in a quiet area on a canal a short and easy walk from Venezia Santa Lucia station. Complimentary drinks were provided and enjoyed outside the hotel next to the canal.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel but a couple of small areas for suggested improvement: At upwards of 500 euros a night for a room including breakfast although the cold buffet breakfast was fine, it was let down by, and I do not think it is reasonable in a 5* hotel to offer clients, a menu for hot items in which for other than the most basic hot items there is an an additional charge, this practice is annoying lacks elegance and detracts from the breakfast experience. No iron or ironing board available in the room or on request and in addition no express laundry service is provided. A steamer is provided on request but with no stand for you to place your clothes on whilst steaming them. Could do better for a luxury hotel.

Enchanting flower arrangements, room with view to the canal… Our room was a bit too cool upon arrival, but that was fixed in no time. You really feel like a guest here, and every wish is fulfilled. At dinner, you’re not only pampered by the waiter; the head chef comes to the table personally to explain his delicious creations—worthy of a Michelin star! Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired—delicious fruits! Lots of tasty extras, nice,very attentive service). Even the ladies from the housekeeping were exceptionally considerate. We stayed 3 nights at Ca' Bondafini - we just loved it, everything! It was a wonderful base from which to experience Venice. The hotel and staff are absolute class. The room was clean, modern and luxurious. The AC worked extremely well, we were super comfortable. The room staff were absolutely on it for towel changes, tidying, setting up the room when we were out, etc. The restaurant and bar were elegant and beautiful. The place has Murano glass on display everywhere. The Secret Garden was also an evening gem to get some quiet and peace. But the best part was the helpfulness and kindness of the staff - every last one. Giuseppe and Costi took care of our every need with such polish and class - loved these guys. The menu in the restaurant was out of this world - absolutely gourmet. This hotel is really what made our visit to Venice to wonderful - I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN - and can't wait to return! It's not cheap, but its a great value for such an elegant place.

The location of the hotel is perfect to be able to sit beside the canal and watch the world go by without the the hustle and bustle of the main square and surrounding areas. The staff could not have done more to make us feel looked after and to maximise our 5 day stay with them. They continuously went above and beyond other make our stay perfect and us feel special - Costi was a particular star! The food is 5 star quality throughout the day, form Breakfast; which always had a large selection of top quality food and drink, through to the main restaurant menu and food which is simply exceptional, in presentation and taste! The hotel is historically opulent, but mixed with modern luxuries and fittings. Truly stunning - If we come back to Venice, we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!

Location is good, a little away from the center and the too crowded streets but still in walking distance from all of the main site. Hotel is located by a nice canal where you can take public transport. Staff was very efficient. Breakfast superb. inside of the hotel is well maintained, and beautiful Venice style.

Room temperature control was not always working. Not the best view from the room. Quite expansive at over 800 euros per night... But still a wonderful place to spend some time in Venice

Tout ! De l’accueil à la chambre au dîner tout était PARFAIT ! La chambre est une œuvre d’art. On se croirait dormir dans un musée. La conciergerie a suivi à la lettre toutes nos demandes malgré les changements de plan de dernière minute. Des petites attentions personnalisées ont été laissées dans la chambre. Le dîner était succulent, avec un service irréprochable, aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner était exquis et bien varié, tout est servis à la demande.

We stayed for my wifes 50th birthday in Venice and the hotel made every effort to make sure our stay was welcoming. I highly reccomend this hotel if you are coming to Venice. On a canal just off the main tourist thoroughfares, it was well placed, but also peaceful. We had a large, elegant room with balcony. The room was quiet - we not disturb by any other residents. Everything was spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet held a very wide variety of all manner of food - fruit, salad, fish, breads, meats, cheeses. The food was if a high standard.

We had a little difficulty communicating in English with many of the staff - perhaps we should have spoken more succinctly. The retro shower mixing taps look good, but take some getting used to. Some of the modern lighting tech was a little irritating for older people like ourselves. A printed room and terrace menu would have been nice, rather than having to access over the tv screen

Was für ein außergewöhnlich schönes und elegantes Hotel. Zudem liegt es in einem Stadteil, welches etwas ruhiger ist und in direkter Nachbarschaft finden sich entzückende kleine Bars mit Plätzen am Kanal. Eine perfekte Heimat, um Venedig zu erkunden.

I love Venice. This hotel is fantastic. Run to an exceptionally high standard. I highly recommend a room with a canal view. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Absolutely top notch. We will be back.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das äußerst freundliche und professionelle Personal. Ich habe mich jederzeit herzlich willkommen und sehr gut betreut gefühlt. Die Mitarbeiter waren aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und haben mit ihrer Gastfreundschaft einen durchweg positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und stilvoll, passend zum venezianischen Ambiente eingerichtet. Sie waren stets sauber, und Wasser, Tee sowie Kaffee standen jederzeit zur Verfügung. Auch das großzügige Badezimmer war sehr gepflegt. Das Bett war äußerst bequem, sodass ich sehr gut schlafen konnte.

Das Frühstück war für mich leider eine große Enttäuschung. Gerade in einem 5-Sterne-Hotel hätte ich ein deutlich höheres Niveau erwartet. Dass Eierspeisen lediglich einzeln aus der Karte bestellt werden können und darüber hinaus extra berechnet werden, empfand ich bereits als unangemessen. Umso enttäuschender war es, dass diese dann auch noch kalt serviert wurden. Auch das Buffet konnte den Anspruch in keiner Weise erfüllen – die Auswahl war äußerst begrenzt, wenig kreativ und wirkte insgesamt lieblos zusammengestellt. Es entstand der Eindruck, dass hier lediglich ein Mindeststandard erfüllt werden sollte, anstatt den Gästen ein wirklich hochwertiges Frühstückserlebnis zu bieten. Für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel in Venedig blieb das Frühstück somit deutlich hinter meinen Erwartungen zurück. Es tut mir leid, dies so deutlich formulieren zu müssen, aber meine Enttäuschung ist entsprechend groß.

The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience!

We had a wonderful stay at Ca’ Bonfadini during our first visit to Venice. The location is ideal — within walking distance of the train station and only about 5 minutes from the main attractions, yet peacefully situated away from the crowds and noise. This balance made a big difference in our overall experience. The hotel itself is truly special. Staying in a beautifully restored historic palace while enjoying all modern comforts made our visit feel unique and memorable. Breakfast was excellent, with high-quality options and a lovely atmosphere. The highlight of our stay, however, was the staff — especially the reception team. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and offered great recommendations. Overall, a beautiful and memorable experience. We would definitely come back.

Just an absolutely beautiful property right on the canal. The hostess was exceptional. She made us feel welcome and set up a trip to murano island for us. The breakfast was a full buffet with a hot menu.

-Impressive and decorative historial touch throughout -Large, spacious room with well designed interior -Staff is very professional, corteous and helpful even for a 5 star hotel -Breakfast selction and quality outstanding -The restaurant DAMA in the hotel has an very talented and ambitions chef. Highly recommend it for their local tradition and extremely high quality of raw ingredients. A true pleasure -We got a free room upgrade to a suite which was more than expected (it does not affect the other points here) I travel a lot and eat in many michelin restaurants- if you want to take your partner to an wonderful weekend there nothing will dissapoint you- go here.

-Location is maybe the one thing I can mention. It is not far but not super close to the main attractions. You have not far to boat stations though (commercial way of travelling) -It´s an historical building so the floor can be a bit hard (beautiful) if you have joint issues
