Great location. Lots of character, lovely spacious rooms, easy parking, excellent views. Brendan was very helpful. Breakfast had everything we needed. Lots of fresh fruit available.

Excellent base for exploring places in Galloway such as the beautiful and nearby Portpatrick. Lovely relaxing start to our holiday.

It was a great pleasure to stay in this B&B. Excellent location on the shore. Very nice authentic retro house with amazing interior where every detail serves to the ambience. Brandon was an exceptional host who looked after us and considered our preferences. Breakfast was great – especially with a classical music on the background. We had a very peaceful stay.

An old property that we’re told has been in the family for 100+ years, now in the possession of a young family, who were extremely friendly and accommodating. The views from the (sea-view) rooms are exceptional. I particularly liked the bistro table and chairs (and the massive bed) in the huge bedroom, the former being positioned right by the window so you could enjoy the complimentary Yorkshire Tea with a stunning view of the Loch. Breakfast was first class too, full Scottish preceded by fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals; properly set us up for our day ahead. An easy 15 minute drive to the ferry to Ireland. I’m very precious about where I park my car (a target for vandals - and seagulls too - but neither were a problem here with great off street parking.

Best guesthouse ever! Great room, even better breakfast! Brendan is a star and as good a hotelier as you will find. They think of everything here, to games in the room to classical music playing quietly in the background in the breakfast room. Great view of the harbour from our room. Truly one of the best stays ever!

Friendly welcome from Brendan. Offered to make us a tea or coffee, even though there are facilities in the room. Comfortable king size bed. Bathroom was quite small but perfectly adequate. Lovely view over Loch Ryan. Very nice freshly cooked breakfast with several choices, as well as a good selection of fruit, yoghurt and cereal. All in all a perfect stay before our ferry journey from Cairnryan to Belfast. Also very good value for money.

This is a true gem of a bed and breakfast. Seriously. We both loved staying in it. Good off road parking. The room was very spacious and light. It included a patio sized table and chairs to sit and enjoy the view of Loch Ryan from the large windows. The en suite bathroom was big enough and provided an easy to use good shower. The decor of the whole establishment was aesthetic consistent with the age and style of the building. An absolute paradise for any book worm. With many varied and interesting books displayed. Brendan, our host was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and approachable. In addition to the usual fried, Brendan provides a good choice of healthy options for breakfasts.. Clearly much thought had gone into creating this breakfast menu. A lovely locatio. We can highly recommend this guest house. Extremely good value and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely home. Spotlessly clean. Made very welcome on arrival. Quiet location by the shore. Nice little walk before bed. We had an early start for the ferry for which the location was ideal. Although we were too early for breakfast, Brendan kindly made us sausage sandwiches to take with us.

The room was lovely and the views on the bay are marvellous. Breakfast was great as was our host. The birdsong in the morning was so lovely - we were lucky to have great weather. A special spot - perfect to explore Galloway!

Great location on the Loch front a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre. Massive room and bed with all the facilities required including an en-suite, good shower. Fantastic breakfast. Welcoming host.

The house is very well decorated. Well situated near the centre of Stranraer. The breakfast was very good. The room was large. What surprised me the most is how acomodating Brendan was for the time for breakfast. I asked from 7:30 and this was not problem despite the fact this was the day we changed the clock to the summer time.

Brendan was incredibly welcoming and accommodating and took the time to show me to my room and explain the facilities. The guest house is in a great location, with nothing between the house and the waterfront but a very quiet, small, dead-end road. There's a lovely walk along the coast in either direction directly from the house (one taking you into the town centre about 10 mins walk, the other direction heads away from the town). The guest house has excellent off street parking right on-site, which felt very safe and I had no concerns at all leaving my motorcycle parked there. My room was warm, spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (the fresh milk for tea/coffee was a lovely touch, as were the Biscoff cookies!!). Brendan's cooked breakfast was delicious and I could not fault it at all.

Just something to be aware of - there isn't a load of sound insulation between the rooms, so you do need to keep other guests in mind with noise levels. But apart from that small consideration, there's really nothing negative to report at all.

Brendan makes it a pleasure to return here and could not do enough for me. As a single traveller it’s nice to just feel relaxed and happy to find somewhere so welcoming.

The location and welcome was a lovely start to our stay.

You can hear other rooms ventilation fans going off and this sounded very loud when after midnight and before 6am. This disturbs our sleep. Had this not occurred, the stay and overall quality would be exceptional.

We were met with a lovely, warm welcome and offered tea/ coffee. This genuine welcome was perfect for the weary traveller. The very large room was very clean with everything we could need and more. Thoughtful touches like a book about Scottish history and dominoes were added too. The room was very tastefully decorated . The best thing for us was the wonderful sea view. Breakfast was served in a friendly, relaxed , professional manner. The food was plentiful and well cooked. The breakfast room too has a wonderful sea view. Would definitely recommend for travellers looking for great hospitality in a wonderful location.

The room was large with a fabulous view over Loch Ryan. Host Brendan was excellent and made us a brilliant breakfast. Parking at the premises was simple and it was just a 5 min walk to Stranraer town.

The room with en-suite bathroom was very large and comfortable with a big bed and great views over Loch Ryan. Brendan could not have been a more welcoming host and served an amazing breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Brendan and his family.

Absolutely amazing place. I was down in the area for a work interview and booked in for the night. First impressions - stunning house in a great location with amazing views. Amazing people who own this place and very accommodating. Easy to chat with and wealth of local knowledge. My room was fantastic and haven't stopped raving about this place to colleagues and family. Room was big, perfect temperature, very clean, had everything you need and bed was extremely comfortable. Had the best sleep I've had in months. Highly recommend.

The location is gorgeous. Our room looked over Loch Ryan where we could see many different birds. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. We had everything we needed in our room, even down to playing cards and a sewing kit.

This is not a complaint at all. I am sure if our stay had been longer, and if I had asked, Brendan would have provided plain yoghurt and a variety of nuts for breakfast. I didn't ask and this is just my personal preference.

A beautiful period house directly overlooking the water in Stranraer. The room was lovely. Attractively decorated but not (unlike many) over done. Large and very comfortable bed. Everything about the house was in keeping with it's period tradition except, thankfully, for the ensuite bathroom which was fully modern, but tastefully so. Brandon was welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was everything that could be expected.

The location is perfect to watch the sunrise and to take an early morning or evening stroll. Very safe.
