This is a great location for the ferry service between Cairnryan and Northern Ireland.Really clean and very quiet.Parking directly outside room.

Convenient location and price for a night before morning ferry. Small 2 bed room with bathroom - ok

Its ok for the money. Car park access tight. The Thistle itself doesn't look great. Town in general a bit run down.

The wheelchair accessibility was ideal.

The rooms are very central with very comfortable beds. There was plenty tea and coffee available and there was a supply of carry out leaflets on the notice board for use. Great value for money.

PRIVATE AREA, CLEAN ROOMS

Quiet location, no street noise. We were the only guests, so can't speaknon noise between rooms. Very private location with cars kept in a walled off carpark. Comfortable room

No food on site or abilty to heat up food. Have to go to a restaurant or take away in town.

It was the cutest little accommodation in Stranraer, the sleeping area was arranged thoughtfully and was the cutest.

More pressure in the shower would have been nice, but that’s it!

Rooms were run down, nothing matched, electric shower just dribbled .the actual pub was closed and derelict, only the 5 rooms located at back of pub were being used.

The room was functional and very clean with everything we needed, there were even ear plugs in case we had noisy neighbors.

The kerb appeal was a bit dreek, very much like most of Stranraer, the whole town could do with a Spring Clean.

The place was uninviting, and cold, and there was a awuful smell about the tiny room, cheap but definately NOT cheerful would not stay there again. I think even the homeless wouldnt stay

The whole set up 1 night was booked one night was enough, there was no extra blanket for warmth, you needed to phone to find out where the key was, on the windowsill door was open, never saw a soul

Great price and really helpful location. Also it was tucked away off of the road and so it felt very private and secure. Check in was super simple and the rooms are really close to local amenities.

Lovely room with lots of space and a comfortable bed. Bathroom facilities were decent too. Overall it was very good value for money. Also close to Cairnryan for the ferries, handy if you have an early one!

The walls between the room were very thin. Not overly distracting, but you could definitely hear everything in the next room (mostly their TV)

It had an American motel feel it was very nice we enjoyed the l 3 rooms we booked

Was a bit chilly in the moring the radiator in my room was off but storm Dave hit and it was freezing

The room was very cold. No heat from radiator. No hot water at sink. Too cold in bathroom to consider using the shower. The thistle inn was looking very rundown and obviously closed for anything other than accommodation in the rooms in small annex in the carpark. No staff on site.

Everything, Sandy was most helpful on checkin & provided safe & secure storage for bicycles.

Very basic accommodation, the place seem clean towels and sheets were clean, carpet not sure if was clean or very worn, the gentleman who handed over the keys was a really nice fellow

The entrance, looks super dodgy not sure if the rooms are behind an abandoned house, I was about to book elsewhere as I wasn’t sure as we weee the only people at the place

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is an ideal place to stay before a ferry crossing to Belfast. The room has everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay

The room is not quite warm enough on arrival but we are from the South so feel the cold!

Sandy the owner is absolutely lovely and friendly and incredibly helpful. All the facilities were exactly as we were expecting and Sandy went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. Sandy also gave us a good tip about there being a Morrisons with a cafe just up the road, where we could get breakfast on the way to the ferry the next morning - which we did, and service was quick too! There was parking directly outside our chalet, which was perfect as I have mobility issues. Our disabled wet room was spacious and equipped with a chair in the shower, which I couldn't have done without. The beds were warm and comfortable. There's a kettle, and tea making facilities provided - which was great as I need at least one cuppa to start the day! The Chalet is ideally located for those needing to travel the short distance from Stranraer to Cairnryan to catch the ferry - it's 10-15 minutes away. We made our ferry to NI on time, and adopted two beautiful Labradors - which was the whole purpose of our adventure 😊 I would definitely stay here again if I need to catch a ferry! There wasn't anything I didn't like - I wasn't expecting the Ritz!

We like the property it was nice and cosy and a great location

I’d prefer to have heating control in the room, as when we arrived it was raining and we were cold and the room was also freezing but as soon as I called the owner the heating was out straight on.

It’s was central to where we were going.

The only thing I didn’t like about the property is the heating was on for 20 mins when we arrived and not back on again. Myself and children were all freezing throughout the night.

I found everything had been provided with a clever use of the limited space. The facilities were clean, comfortable and very good value for money. Sandy was kindly on hand to answer my questions. The premises were well located for the town facilities

I found difficulty in locking the front door (chalet 3). The space for cars to park and turn was very tight.

Convenience to town

Could have been 2 bath size towels, as there was 2 people. Tv was difficult to operate, and that was my husbands description. Smell of dampness.

Very private. Large room and all facilities required were there. Only one staff member to deal with and he was very friendly. I was a late arrival and he still answered the phone for instructions. He came to meet me the next day to see if I was warm enough or if I needed another heater.

The car park was a bit awkward.

The room was as expected for a motel. It had what it needed for a one night stop over before catching an early ferry from Cairnryan. It was easy to find and only a 10 minute walk to morrisons

We could hear the people in the room next door and putting plugs in the wall would echo into neighbouring rooms. We were only supplied with one large towel for the two of us but other wise it was fine.
