My boyfriend and I stayed at 110 Water St. for 5 days. We love the east coast, but it was our first time in Newfoundland. From the very start, the host, Earl was great with communication and very responsive. He even sent lists of recommendations of things to do and places to eat! The space was perfect for 2 people, with lots of closet space, a full kitchen and great lighting throughout. There was laundry in the unit, and great water pressure in the shower! Wifi was also working fast, and you had a view of the water from the front of the apartment. So many great places were within walking distance, which was fantastic. We had a lovely time and were blessed to have experienced ALL of the weather. Sun, fog, rain, cool mornings, warm afternoons, light wind...it was such a treat from the horrible sticky weather we have in Toronto. I would recommend this place 100%.

Right in the heart of downtown...An updated, well equipped condo. Very clean. Had problem with TV but owner responded immediately and dealt with the problem.

When we first arrived it seemed sketchy. Stairs and entrance to the condo itself were tackier than I would have expected, but any concerns were dissipated on entering the condo itself...The pillow cases were too big for the pillows so were bunchy to sleep on...and pillows were too hard.

Only 2 frosted windows in the bedroom that looked out onto a rubbish and graffiti strewn back alley which was the source of a 4.30 am fight leading to a broken bedroom window.

Location was great!

Downtown was busy and we had a hard time to find a place near the condo to unload the car. There are no windows in the living area. Window in bedroom was dirty with bird droppings? Municipal parking near condo is unsafe and our car was broken into. There was feces that appear to be human outside the exterior door which remained there for a few days.

Beautiful spot, right in downtown, parking easy, lots of room. St johns is wonderful.

No water pressure in upstairs master bedroom, mold at bottom of shower all around tile, needs to be cleaned and caulked. A few spots with plaster not sanded or painted, and down stairs balcony inaccessible due to plaster. Host was a bit unreasonable, dried stains on sheets when we got there and charged me for a $130 cleaning fee. Also I mistaken check out time from 10 to 11 and he charged me $50 without a warning when i explained my situation. Ive stayed in plenty of vacation rentals and hosts have been very reasonable.

We had issues with AC that had just been installed Water pressure upstairs was horrible Owner took to long to contact AC company, showed up the second night. Owner is supposed to issue a credit for AC inconvenience When we got there a car was illegally parked in lane way about 20 inches from stairs making it really hard to bring our luggage in and out. At night a truck parked right beside it blocking lane way completely. Sent text to owner and nothing got done for all four days we were there. It was so sad as the unit was absolutely beautiful

Condo was on Water Street! Great location.

The internet and Tv did not work for 3 of the 4 days we were there. The owner was very helpful and had it fixed as soon as Bell could come. He gave a credit on our credit card and could not apologize enough. The only other issue is a car parked at bottom of stairs and difficult to bring luggage to condo.

You will have everything you need to live like you were in your own well equipped home. Attention to detail is a signature of this property. Location has its benefits (close to everything downtown). Property is beautifully appointed and decorated.

From the photos it had not occurred to me that the two windows of the apartment would open at the surface of the ground because the property is on a hill - giving it a feeling of being a basement apartment. This was very uncomfortable for us - used to throwing a window open and looking outside to see our surroundings, weather, etc. Other properties managed by this company may be a better choice. A second issue was the softness of the bed. As we are light sleepers, we kept waking each other up all night until my husband gave up and moved to the sofa for 2 nights. The property management has said they will replace the mattress so check with them if this is an issue for you. Overall, if either of the issues I've raised don't concern you, you will be a happy camper in this property!

The property manager gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and restaurant suggestions. He responded promptly and even changed our location so we wouldn't be bothered by the noise on Water St

It was a little noisy being on the street, the pillows were terrible and the apartment was looking a little tired. We had to move to a jelly bean house for the last night and while cute inside the bedrooms were way too small and there was only one bathroom which was problamatice. In all fairness the property manager did tell us that

We were excited to be in a downtown location but it was much noisier outside than we expected.

The location was great and the space was clean and practical.

It didn’t have any windows in the kitchen, living area, or bathroom, which made it feel very claustrophobic. The bedroom had two windows which were frosted glass and opened out onto an ugly courtyard/alleyway so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving them open. Otherwise, the place is very nice, but I never would have booked it had I understood that there weren’t windows in the main area. Some of the other units must have windows as the pictures in the listing show windows, but our unit did not have them.

Only difficult part was the stairs to the third floor apartment.

Great location for our 6 night stay. We had great communication with the property manager even before we arrived. Entry instructions were well explained and we had no issues. The unit was clean and well appointed.

We had no issues, but someone with mobility issues would struggle with the 2 floors of stairs. A very minor issue, the glass shower door in the en suite would not stay fully closed, but we did not have an issue with water in the floor.

Loved everything about the property, large, clean, well appointed. Fresh ground coffee in the morning, not pod based. Washer and dryer. Great location. Incredibly comfortable beds. Just everything came together. But best was Earl the owner. He answered all our questions, and made suggestions the took our trip from great, to incredible. We would love to stay here again when we next visit St. John’s.

The condo was large and bright. It was exceptionally clean. We arrived on an early flight and we're able to check in an hour early. I spoke with the host via phone and text and he was always very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again if we're in St. John's.

the window blinds in living room had they been able to pull up , would be much easier to open windows , as well to get inside the casings for the cleaning staff

It was spacious and clean and close to all the amenities.

The only minor inconvenience was the jets didn’t work in the jacuzzi tub. Not a big deal.

It was centrally located and very well appointed. Place was very clean and beds comfortable. Worked out great for my niece and I.

There were only two small windows in the bedroom that overlooked the garbage. Very noisy on Saturday night, other three nights were fine.

Have you considered adding a lock to the door at the first landing? We didn't have any issues, though anyone can access the stairs and hallway from the restaurant, which is mildly disconcerting.

The comfort of the apartment, location in the heart of the town, laundry facilities (for long journey travellers) -all the city stuff just outside the door. Host responsive in a couple of hours.

3 floors of stairs for carrying luggage, which made a little difficult due to street closed off. Host did supply helpful parking and directions and whilst we were aware it - it was hard work. Couldn't get TV working, as apparently temperamental!!

Beautifully renovated heritage condo. Clean as a whistle . Lots of space for organizing clothes with lots of hangars! Great location for walking to restaurants. Loved having functioning fireplace. Great kitchen that was well stocked with utensils.Also washer and dryer. Lovely and quiet at night. You couldn’t get better than this!

Hotels.com sent the wrong room and location of condo to the condo company. We were very upset by this miss communication. Disappointed we didn't get room that we booked

This place looks like it was renovated yesterday. Laminate wood floors, new appliances, spotless bathroom and elsewhere. My only caution to others is to make very sure you have the correct address. I booked through Expedia a precise address, but the owner has several places and he put me in another less convenient location. Make sure you know where you are staying!

The location was great, so many restaurants and pubs right outside the front door. The host was very easy to communicate with and very responsive with replies. Lots of amenities, the bed was comfortable, linens were comfortable, apartment was clean. The only downside was the lack of a view to the outside world. There were two windows but they were etched over which was good because the view wasn’t particularly great. Everything was wonderful but we enjoy being outside or at least being able to look outside. We compensated the lack of a view by spending way too much time on the outdoor restaurant/pub patios…. Maybe not so bad after all!

See above. There was no view to the outside world which unfortunately made the apartment dark. (I don’t like having to put lights on first thing in the morning.) Now, having said that, that was the only downside to this apartment. When we return, which we definitely will, we’ll look at renting the apartment in the front which has 2 bedrooms and looks out onto the street.

We thought from the name the unit would be on Water Street but is actually on Cochrane. Still a great location though.

Scrupulously clean and thoughtfully- appointed. Earl had left supplies for all appliances and everything worked. He was most attentive to any questions I had and helped us acquire a parking pass. The accommodation was well-situated up the hill from shops and bars so it was quiet, but we woke to the sound of seagulls so it was lovely. Considering the long journey we’d had from Australia, the room was a welcoming start to our trip. Highly recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed our six-day stay at the 110B Water Street condo. The unit provided a comfortable base for our time in St. John’s. The location is superb, close to the Water Street pedestrian mall and the many restaurants, shops and bars along Water Street and Duckworth Street. The parking, which cost a bit extra, was very convenient. The instructions for accessing the condo and parking were very clear, and the host provided useful information about things to do and places to go in St. John’s and the Avalon Peninsula. The unit was very clean on arrival, which was appreciated.

The place was bright and airy and very clean. The kitchen was well equiped and beds were comfortable.

We didn’t like hauling our luggage up the stairs. This space is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Also the mattress was very soft and loud if someone moved.

Location was prime. Unit was well furnished, well equiped and well decorated.

We stayed in the Cochrane St condo 2 bedroom ground floor. It’s a quiet road but just around the corner from Water St. The condo feels brand new! Everything so clean and comfortable with stylish decor and character. The kitchen is well equipped with great appliances and a pleasure to cook in. The beds and linen really comfy. It was just perfect for our family of four adults.

The only thing would be that the bed in the second bedroom is on the small size for two adults.

It’s close to a ton of restaurants and bars. It was central to all the the sights we wanted to see.

The place was perfect. Very clean and comfortable in every way. We were so central to everything and the communication as to where to go and what to do for entertainment and eating was excellent.

Earl was great about getting back to us quickly and with great recommendations for hikes and restaurants.

Very noisy street noise, especially on a nice day with all the motor bikes going by. Rainy days are better, ok, much less noise
