Excellent, tasty, good variety.
Could have been a wider selection of fresh fruit
The location near the lake is very enjoyable
It was all lovely
The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. The location of the hotel is ideal and great bus connections. The hotel is very quiet and the rooms are well maintained and clean.
I was hoping there would have a gym and the wifi wasn't great, but those are minor details.
Spa was very good
Bed was uncomfortable, on wheels and kept moving.
Location good. Car park excellent. Room spacious with plenty of storage.
Breakfast very ordinary. Milk in coffee machine (long life) vile made coffee undrinkable. Not much choice.
Excellent location, staff and restaurant facilities
Nothing
Room service felt very fancy, the whole place was clean and tidy, and it was quiet overnight so we slept very well
We were surprised that there was no toast with breakfast
Very nice hotel but also very expensive
Very poor breakfast buffet under cooked sausage scrambled egg was dripping in water hash browns under cooked. For the price they charge for the rooms they should do a lot better with the breakfast
Amazing hotel. From the amazing welcome we received all the way through, everything and everyone was fantastic. The room was lovely and the setting was sublime. Had that ‘Centre Parcs’ feeling about it where you feel that you have been transported to a different world for a few days and you feel when you leave the property that you are back in the hustle of bustle of normal life. Highly recommended staying here. Me and my wife discussed getting divorced just so we could have another wedding there! (It looks like an amazing wedding venue).
We enjoyed everything about it!
Location was excellent, plentiful free parking, on- site restaurant and spa.
Lakeside View Room was not cleaned thoroughly.. Decor was dated and shabby in places as were the other two booked rooms. Food was tasty but price to portion ratio expensive compared to other local establishments. Dress code on hotel site was irrelevant. Most 4* establishments we have visited have coffee machines not sachets. Also no shaving/make-up mirror in bathroom and nowhere to hang outdoor wear.
Lovely view from our windows, the beds were very clean with fresh linen. All the facilities in the room were very good. The Spa was fab and everything was available to use. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great.
The carpet could have done with an extra vacuum, the headboard fabric was dirty. The shower was very touchy on the dial, from boiling hot to cold.
the location very convenient for the ferry and the island attractions. the pool and spa was nice the view across the lake and grounds are very pleasant , the staff especially the receptionists were great
felt that the room servicing was a bit slow and the the room had a few issues with cleaning ie the cupboard doors had finger marks the toilet bowl had staining at the bottom underneath and some areas in the room were a bit faded
The room was comfortable, and my daughter enjoyed a very good facial in the spa. Staff were all extremely nice and helpful.
There was a space for a fridge in the room, but no actual fridge in it! This was unfortunate for me, as I needed to refrigerate medication. A fridge is a basic hotel room requirement these days! Bath waste was broken and we had to use something each time (eg tweezers) to get bath plug out! Poor selection of tea in the room - no green tea of any kind. Breakfast very average; no milk alternatives, dreadful coffee and very limited fruit selection. No nuts, seeds or anything of that kind.
Location
Food took time to be served. Supposed sirloin steak was tough as old boots. We decided to order different food, we were then charged for its preparation and service for it's replacement. Although we were offered complimentary drinks for the inconvenience, we opted not to take it as it would delay our dinner even more. It was meant to be a birthday celebration dinner that started 715pm but was served dinner after 2 hours.. We booked for the spa treatments. Due to being lost following our walk unfortunately we were 15 minutes late. They failed to tell us that they'll deduct it from the time of the treatments. So paid in full for 25 minutes treatment but actually only got 10 minutes of treatment. Also the tea making facilities were nowhere to be found. The fridge also missing. The lift was broken. The room was very outdated could do with a lick of paint. The bath water drain didn't work at all. The breakfast served was very minimal and bland in flavour. They had a lake , it would have been nice to walk around it but there was no sufficient light for it to make it possible during evenings and not being featured. Such a shame. The staff were very polite and helpful.
Staff and location
So a bit old fashioned in the rooms
Location and the spa facility
Spa facilities
Broken AC, no fridges in room. Broken lift with no notice
It was clean
The breakfast was horrible. No varieties and the exact same horrible food everyday
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert, sowohl an der Reception als im Restaurant/Bar. Auch das Putzpersonal arbeitete sorgfältig und die Zimmer wurden täglich gut gereinigt.
Very welcoming at Reception and evening staff very friendly. Good location and parking.
Breakfast very disappointing, sausages cooked on one side only, bacon fatty, other items passable. Toast machine looked old and did not toast properly so gave up. Even worse was that cutlery was not clean with food debris left on knife and spoon, very off putting. Left to get coffee elsewhere, self service coffee not good. Also some staff at breakfast need to be more pleasant. Room was good but dark so needs better lighting for make-up etc. Stayed here a few years back but hotel now feels ‘tired’ and in need of some refurbishment. Also bad that lift not working as spouse has knee issue.
The room was ok but not cleaned and lots of dust
The breakfast was not eatable at all. Not fresh, very poor quality. We did not have it at all.
Wonderful
Beautiful
Overall our stay was pleasant and wonderful. We enjoyed the views from the hotel and the grounds.
Spent a lovely weekend at the Lakeside to celebrate our anniversary. Spacious, comfortable room and a beautiful bar and dining room. Service was excellent and the lovely barman made a great cocktail! We both enjoyed our main course at dinner, especially the chicken dish. Sadly the lemon tiramisu was very disappointing but the chocolate fondant was delicious. Spa treatments were very good and we enjoyed relaxing on the loungers outside but some shade would be great.
The room was nice and big, the staff was lovely and the location was great
The food was horrible. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was very very bad. The scrambled eggs had no flavor, literally not a piece of veggie, and very little fruit. Lots of hash browns or bacon, though, but healthy options were non-existent or inedible. Also the hotel offered weak WiFi for free, or a good one for 5gbp a day... Honestly, I'd expect this at a cheap hostel but not at a 4-star hotel.

Breakfast sausages
The deluxe room has been renovated relatively recently and is very airy and light, which we loved. The restaurant staff and receptionists were friendly and helpful. The outdoor jacuzzi and essential oil saunas were lovely. The view of the lake from our room was brilliant, and we loved sitting outside to stare at it and watch the geese during the day and the stars at night. The massages we had were great and the therapists were friendly. Overall, it was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay for a couple of days.
Cleanliness was an issue throughout the hotel: our room wasn't hoovered during our stay and our bedding and robes had old stains on them. The pool area had visible dust and hair under the loungers, slime on the pool wall, and stains on some cushions. The spa staff came to test the water while we were in the jacuzzi, which was unsettling as this should be done first thing before anyone gets in. The restaurant (and everywhere else really) had cobwebs on the ceilings and dirty windows. The robes provided in the rooms are old and will only fit a size 12 (F) and below. Breakfast was disappointing with very little variety, and we avoided the restaurant for lunch/dinner because of previous reviews. The sun lounger cushions outside the rooms with patios (ours included) were not brought inside when it rained, which explained the mold already growing on them. Housekeeping didn't arrive until 3 pm, which in my experience is quite late in the day. No minibar/fridge in the room, which wasn't a problem for us but may be for others.
The food the surrounding the spa
Cleanliness could have been better could do with more milk in your room
The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking a lake and the hotel staff are exceptionally helpful and polite. The fee car park is huge and there was no difficulty in parking. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had not noticed the air conditioning control unit on the wall in the room and it was exceptionally hot in our room. At 1.30am, my wife went to reception to ask if we could have a fan for our room. Very quickly, the staff member who was on duty during the night came to our room and explained the air conditioning facility in our room. He could not have been more helpful and polite and we were grateful for the huge difference the air conditioning made. We used the swimming pool which is obviously well maintained and cared for and this together with the other facilities around the pool was a pleasure to use. The menu in the Brasserie has an excellent selection and the food was wonderful.
Nothing.
The Spa is a really nice facility, the twin room on the second floor was of a good size
The kitchen/chef seemed to be having problems getting food out quickly. The croissants at breakfast kept running out. One evening we had ordered dinner, and the steak was so tough it was inedible. But it had taken so long to come my mother decided to eat but vegetables but send the steak back. When the bill came the steak was still on there with the other (much cheaper) meal taken off. And because the manager had already left the waitress was unable to correct the bill satisfactorily. It was a poor end to a very unsatisfactory meal. Although the day manager did solve the issue satisfactorily the following wing morning.
Staff were exceptional, faultless. They elevated our stay.
At the price we expected, as a norm, the bed woould be super King. It wasnt. Hotel sits on a beautiful lake, but our room overlooked a car park. Expected a bit better view for the price.
Very clean, not crowded, great breakfast, great location for ferry.
The reception staff. There were two ladies on the desk during our stay and both were really helpful, friendly and enthusiastic The hotel setting is also really nice. Sitting by the lake in the sunshine could be a major selling point
The room was dated. The furniture was worn and it was clear some items had been removed and not replaced. The soft furnishings in the room were stained and worn. The aircon (whilst excellently cold) was insufferably loud with a strange loud grumble noise every 5 minutes. The bar was dated and the outside areas were dirty . The tables wobbled more than bowl of jelly and cost half your drink every time you moved. The seating area and steps felt like they were close to collapse , all of the tables needed to be cleaned at best but most likely replaced The bar staff didn’t seem to care too much about their job and the measures were short, but I couldn’t be fussed with the drama of calling it out and so we just went to bed The breakfast was really poor and not what I expected from a hotel at this price. A Hilton at half the price serves a better breakfast buffet. I don’t think Hilton breakfast is great but it is better and at half the price The eggs were swimming in yellow water. That put me off so I grabbed a yoghurt. There were no spoons, so the server (who was trying to be helpful) gave me a cocktail spoon The communal areas are poor too. It was evident the glass atrium has been patched and patched over years and broken windows were crudely covered by large plant pots. One major positive was the restaurant Cibo just beyond the hotel entrance. The food there was amazing. I’d be tempted to ask if they want to move in and take over the bar and restaurant
The location of the hotel is great, just on the side of the lake. The restaurant with the view of the lake is very nice. Located only a few minutes from the Ferry. Makes for very quick from and to the ferry. The hotel is well presented and has a nice charm. The spa is a little basic compared to some we have visited but a nice benefit with a 2 year old who loves being in the water. It's included in the price of the room which is nice.
The morning staff in the restaurant were a little unresponsive. The rooms were a little noisy with a constant buzzing from something near the rooms.
View from room
There were no mini freeze in room , slipper
We stayed for three nights and genuinely enjoyed the room and the spa facilities, which were both excellent. The pool area is lovely, although the 1.5‑hour limit for families felt quite restrictive, especially with so many children wanting to use it. With improvements to breakfast and more flexible pool access for families, this hotel has the potential to be a fantastic stay
Unfortunately, breakfast was the biggest disappointment. The selection was very limited, and the staff struggled to answer basic questions about the menu. My daughter didn’t enjoy anything, and we chose not to return after the first morning because the experience was that poor.
Location. Super helpful Staff. Decent Spa.
Cheap and scruffy gardening in some places. Could be vastly improved with a small investment. Also restaurant menu and food was ok but not great.
Was in a nice location Staff really friendly
Wasn’t keen on the food in the restaurant Staff took our feedback and tried to compensate
The location
There was no fridge in our room
It had lovely views and was very peaceful
It needs a little updating especially the outside areas
Breakfast was good. Everything organised. Staffs are friendly. Plenty of parking spaces
Excellent breakfast buffet and menu (albeit not obvious that you can also order aditional eggs, salmon etc! ) , Rooms old fashion style but nice, spacious and clean. Really friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful grounds . Ideal for people with physical walking-related disabilities as rooms and facilities are on ground floor. Good wifi.
Spa wasn't brilliant but good enough! Smallish pool, saunas/steam room not hot enough and occasionally not on time available at start of the day 8am. No minibar i.e. fridge (but this is a minor point!).
Room and breakfast were excellent. Staff were always friendly especially the restaurant and reception area.
The dinner menu was a little restrictive and limited for children. Th spa restriction to not allow children under 16 to use the jacuzzi was disappointing as most other hotels visited do not have this in place. My 9 year old daughter was upset as something she was looking forward to.
The only saving grace are the reception staff and a couple if others. Generally the staff are surely and act like you are an inconvience. Example. Try asking for a pot of tea at breakfast. 6 morning in,4 mornings pointed to a hot water dispenser and a tea bag before grudgingly served a pot os tea. Sometimes with milk and tea cups sometimes not There is a menu but it’s well hidden. The buffet is just cheap food service products that look stale and uninviting. Really poor effort The room is so tired I felt sorry for it. The curtains so old and frail that as you pull them they rip, literally. I don’t think it has been updated in 20 years. Even the room ridge has gone missing. Just a gap where it should be An expensive place that looks and feels like a premiere inn but at over £200+ a night very far from where it should be One more night then onward thank goodness
The receptionist Jessy was exceptionally polite and helpful. She went out of the way to print an itinerary for us.
Music in reception
The outdoor seating was dirty
Laura, the cleaning team, the restaurant team, the spa team. All were lovely.
The "king size" bed is only a small double. It was so small that we needed to ask for an extra room which increased our expenditure by a lot. There is not a "single occupancy" rate. The pricing is a bit steep in the restaurant and for a room (although granted, it is peak season).
Clean friendly and great location
Nothing
Am See war wirklich schön. Am Empfangen waren sie sehr freundlich. Die Grösse der Zimmer war gut.
Schmuddelig. Preis Leistung steht leider in keinem Verhältnis.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the spacious breakfast room with the variety of seating arrangements of inside and outside was particularly welcomed. The location was great and not too far from the Wightlink Ferry and our visit to Osborne House and the beautiful Bay.
I originally booked a twin room (separate beds) with a view of the full moon on the lake This request was not followed through, so we had to settle for a twin with no view. The staff did their best to help with the situation, however, I was disappointed.
Very nice and clean plenty of parking lovely place
View and location
Quality of furnishings for the price isn't worth it. Brasserie food very poorly cooked.
Plenty of parking, walking distance to a pub and very good restaurant, quiet location. AC worked, bed was on the harder side but comfortable for me, towels were big, WiFi worked well for basic searching Very friendly and helpful staff
It was showing its age Breakfast was limited and it was unknown that you could request poached eggs etc until we saw someone else do it
All staff encountered friendly, Location good, rooms clean, spa lovely.
Not so keen on the breakfast, although nice to have a buffet style and to help yourself. Also, I would prefer adults only in the spa, just my preference.
Great location and setting
Spa opening hours
The room, breakfast, the pool and tubs and the walk round the grounds overlooking the lake
There was nothing not to like
It was warm and welcoming and the staff could not do enough for us. Nothing was to much trouble
The spa area, sauna area/ floors could have been cleaner
Very helpful and polite staff.
N/A
Spa was nice, location is nice.
Generally Dated, air conditioning in rooms very poor. Breakfast not great. Some staff rude. Over priced.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food at breakfast was very good. We had a meal in the restaurant one evening and the food and service was excellent.
The condition of the room and some of the facilities wasn't great, the curtains in our room were worn and shabby, and the bathroom door was in need of a bit of TLC. The steam room and spa pools were much too hot.
Clean, quiet
Nothing
The spa facilities, Brasserie and all the staff through the whole hotel and spa were excellent: Nothing was too much trouble.
The only thing that could enhance the almost perfect stag would be access to laundry facilities. Otherwise it was perfect!
Location great, grounds lovely to walk. Bed comfortable and everything worked.
Place seems a bit stuck in a time warp, dated and in need of a facelift to be so much better, it could be fabulous. Restaurant and food ok but little imagination or quality. Breakfast not up to 4 star, minimal and boring.
Beautiful breakfast, superb room and very friendly staff.
The outside chairs need to be spruced up with new cuhions for extra comfort
Staff were all very friendly. Air con in room was great!
Location fantastic (we had a car), pool area, room very comfortable. Very relaxing, quiet. Lovely scenery.
Not enough fruit in the breakfast buffet. Was not replenished. Not many yoghurt flavours. There was a rat on the balcony outside the breakfast area- the door was closed.
View & grounds were beautiful. Perfect for the wedding venue.
No fridge in the room. We such hot weather water needed to be in the fridge. Bar to busy to serve drinks in correct glasses had to find a dirty glass. Which was run under tap given back to me wet.!!! 4*
Nice location and good area with lake and green to walk around at leisure. Good place for relaxing weekend.
We had a bit of electrical issue in our room. When we returned back from late night dinner, our room did not have any electricity. The night staff attended but could not resolve. He offered us alternative room. The initial rooms offered were not lake facing room but the he found one next door to our original room lake facing. Since we had booked lake facing room which is higher charge we should have been offered that one first. But it got sorted reasonably in good time.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable . The breakfast was very nice.
I wouldn’t say I didn’t like but the food was ok but not the best part of our stay.
Really poor wifi.. dropped all the time. Nice room. Tho a stretch to say lake view.. children running past window so no privacy. Tables not cleared outside.. really a bit tired outside, hard worn tables and chairs, when there were chairs on the outside jetty overlooking the lake!! Lovely position just needs attention to detail for 4 stars.
Our stay there was wonderful. Really luxurious, fantastic food and amenities and the staff were super.
Restaurant manager Great guy
Receptionist v abrupt
Location was great 👍
Soft bed no board to help.. No fridge in rooms.
ROOM - VIEW - LOCATION
NO HANDRAIL ON THE JACUZZI BREAKFAST POTS BEING EMPTY WHEN YOU GET TO THEM AT 9.30AM
Beautiful scenery, lovely spa , comfortable beds
Breakfast was good but only one type of eggs which was scrambled and not very nice , had a evening meal which was overpriced and not very nice , so we didn’t eat in hotel after that
Le spa , les chambres climatisées et le calme
La climatisation est un peu bruyante
Loved the spa. Particularly where you could relax and sun bath. The outside bar was a nice touch in this hot weather too.
A lot of it needs a bit of TLC / freshen up. Outdoor seating area off the restaurant was very shabby. Needs a new deck or repaint.
Location & setting Food was good both breakfast and the meal we had in the evening
It was a little tired - needs a little tlc especially the spa area Air conditioning was not great & there was none in the stairwell Water should be refreshed in the rooms everyday not just on arrival
Very friendly, pleasant setting very restful with the lake to look upon, Spa was lovely. Clean and great sized room. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, warm and fresh. A little more continental and pastries would have been nice
Didn't eat in the Brasserie due to dress-code stringency, I had no huge issue with this, but it was 30c and shorts were a no. It didn't spoil our stay though. Would recommend.
Location, rooms good restaurant excellent evening meal, SPA an advantage
Breakfast shocking for the standard of Hotel, SPA outside area too small and could nt use the spa before and after your departure cost you extra £18.50 which is outrageous considering cost of room
We loved the setting. The staff were fab. Emma in reception was really helpful in getting taxis to festival. Our daughter and son in law joined us for a roast on Sunday. It was so good. All in all we had a wonderful stay. Thank you
Just a couple of things. We were surprised there wasnt a fridge in the room. And we stayed for 3 nights and had to ask for more showergel. Wasnt a problem though.
This hotel is listed as four star but it’s definitely punching. Breakfast reminds me of premier inn, no thrills buffet. No options. Room service is a none existent. It’s nice but don’t claim to be something your not!
Beautiful location. Very lovely and friendly staff Clean and comfortable Great spa Great breakfast
Nothing to dislike
Wonderful location with excellent views and very comfy beds. All the staff went out of their way to accommodate our dietary needs
The menu doesn’t change for guests staying for a week or more.
Beautiful location and facilities
Organisation seemed to be oriented towards most cost efficient running of the hotel, at times at cost to guest experience, especially in relation to restaurant opening times and choice of offering
The staff were helpful and very friendly and the buffet breakfast was excellent quality. But the hotel was very tired and worn. When opening the windows I found dust and debris that had obviously been there a while the chairs had stains on them which did not portray a good picture. The biggest problem was the lighting in the bathroom. The wall lights had warm coloured bulbs and the small spotlights in the ceiling were not bright enough for my husband to shave or for me to put makeup on. An easy change to improve. We were there for a wedding. The seating area at the gazebo was on a slant very uncomfortable and precarious. If you had sat people graduating up the slant would be better and maybe offer those at the back a better view. With the space you have it could be set up better. The chairs were from outside the bar so no one could sit and have a drink before or right after the service. The chairs were rough and worn. In fact a large splinter was pulled from a young boys shorts in front of me. There was no proper audio. So we could not hear music or any of the service. We only knew the couple were married was when the front row cheered. Not one to write home about. But I will say the wedding food was of good great quality, well cooked and served hot.
The location was very good. Room was very clean and modern.
No fridge in the room.
The pool and spa was a nice bonus
Everything was good
Staff were polite and efficient. Kali in the spa took good care of us
Breakfast items ran out quickly and weren’t replenished but what was there was good quality
Great location and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good.
nothing, short enjoyable stay
Lovely airy rooms, good space and clean.
Nothing
Great location and clean. Staff were helpful and quickly answered any questions
The restaurant, shrimp cakes tasted like flour and fish and chips smelt off and was told the off smell was fine. Massage was abit overpriced for what it was.
Lovely location, very friendly helpful staff, Excellent Sunday roast , good pool area
Nothing
I really liked the stay
Beautiful setting,clean
Lovely location by a lake with plenty of seating to relax in the outdoors. Staff were very professional and welcoming so made the visit feel like we were valued. Spa area was small but as it was a lovely day not too busy. As we were walking the coastal Path it was great as we were also at the end of the walk
This is a hotel venue for weddings and events so feels a little soulless for the average guest.
Great spa and lovely massage.
Nothing we didn't like
Comfortable air conditioned rooms either excellent bathroom and storage.
Very little
