Rooms at that price point should have Air Conditioning, Toilet seat seemed low in height, Grab rails in shower sharp pointed corners and at elbow level, shower mat covered the bath plug so it doesn’t drain properly.

Swimming pool was out of action and there were room service issues. Evening restaurant food wasn’t great but breakfast was excellent.

River view rooms with balcony are outstanding and the walk in to Dartmouth is straightforward and short. Most of all though the staff are excellent. Attentive and thoughtful whilst also bring properly sociable is a great mix. Second visit and we will be back.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Lovely location. View over the Marina was beautiful. We celebrated our 40th wedding Anniversary there and the staff arranged Prosecco in our room when we arrived and a special surprise at dinner.
The room was hot. No air conditioning in our room. The fan did help a little.

Cramped tables and seating for two especially for breakfast. Poor tea and coffee no taste and weak. Poorly cooked dishes for dinner in the restaurant, the fish needs to be much much better presented and cooked because it was tasteless and not fresh. Please - you don't need frozen fries with everything they also have nothing to add to restaurant type dishes. Untidy, dirty decking on balcony with cigarette ends, probably needs renovating in the future? Great idea though to have a balcony and really appreciated!

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026Great location with parking. Lovely room which was extremely comfortable. Wonderful breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. We stayed for 2 nights as we were taking part in the Dart 10K - had the perfect weekend away from London.
Suggest booking in advance for evening meal either in the hotel restaurant or in town as that is a really short walk. Most places stop serving food by 9pm so remember to get out early. We were late as we over self after finishing the Dart 10K.

The hotel location is perfect for an easy stroll to the town centre and various ferries/river taxis. And it was a bonus to have parking outside! We will definitely stay here again!

The costs were generally higher than other hotels, though not outrageously so, but the high quality of facilities and food, and its presentation, as well as the standard/ attitudes and attention of the staff made this a sough- after venue. And the location is superb
Not a complaint, but we found the portions of dishes at Dinner were enormous - maybe our appetites are much smaller than younger guests these days!

We had dinner at the hotel on both nights of our stay and the food was perfect. The liver was so beautifully cooked that we asked the waitress how they cooked it - which she kindly checked with the chef for an answer. Couldn't faulty anything.
The weather!! There was nothing we didn't enjoy.
