Absolutely stunning location! The A-frame cabin exceeded our expectations - the bed was super comfy, the linen soft, the shower head was powerful (something we missed at other resorts), the private pool was a luxury and the hammocks a lovely extra touch. We noticed plenty wildlife around, which made it extra special. The staff was very friendly and their service was prompt & superb. We felt at peace and very relaxed, with full privacy. We wished we could’ve stayed another night.

* The apartment is accessed via some fairly steep steps, so this is just something to be aware of when booking. There can be some fairly loud scuttling noises on the roof at night, although this is understandable given the jungle location.

Beste accommodatie die we gehad hebben in Sri Lanka. Prachtig huisje met eigen zwembad en zeer goed onderhouden en proper. Ze bieden per dag gratis een retour Tuktuk rit aan naar het centrum van Ella. Het personeel is enorm vriendelijk en helpen je met alles!

Het restaurant is dicht door renovatie, je moet dus op je kamer eten. Er zijn niet echt tafel en stoelen voorzien om comfortabel te kunnen eten.

Abbiamo riservato il loro tuk tuk per il secondo e ultimo giorno ad Ella per andare ad Adam’s Peak alle 5:30 a.m., ma all’ orario concordato nessuno si è presentato nonostante i solleciti via whatsapp. Lo stesso giorno abbiamo concordato con loro l’auto per Sigirya, non lo avessimo mai fatto, ritardo assurdo, facendo saltare così le tappe successive del nostro viaggio. Il punteggio 7 è dato dalla location, servizi non adatti. Hanno comunque provato a rimediare su tutti gli errori con degli sconti sui pagamenti, ma questo non ci fa recuperare il tempo che potevamo sfruttare diversamente. Purtroppo non ritornerei.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely loved our stay at The Tea Cabins in Ella. This is a relatively new place, beautifully located right in the middle of a tea plantation, surrounded by lush nature and wildlife. It was wonderful to sit outside and watch birds, squirrels, ants and many other little creatures going about their day. The individual cabins are beautifully and lovingly designed, and the cleanliness is truly exceptional. Despite being surrounded by nature and animals, the cabins were spotless and extremely well maintained. Each cabin has its own private pool, which was also perfectly clean and made our stay even more special. There is also a large shared swimming pool, which is big enough to actually swim in and is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The service was excellent, and the whole team was incredibly warm, attentive and helpful. Although The Tea Cabins are a little outside Ella, the complimentary tuk-tuk service into town makes getting around very easy. For us, staying here was a much more special and authentic experience than choosing one of the many accommodations directly overlooking the Nine Arches Bridge. The peaceful setting, beautiful cabins, outstanding cleanliness, wonderful pools and fantastic service made our stay truly memorable. Thank you so much for everything! We would absolutely love to come back and wish The Tea Cabins every success for the future. We can wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful place! ❤️

My partner and I had a brilliant stay here. Despite being a tuk tuk ride away from the main Ella Centre, the staff were able to support us with regular complimentary rides as and when we needed. The service was impeccable, and I’m very grateful. We were able to use a WhatsApp chat and basically messaged anything we needed our the hotel manager was able to help us. The location is beautiful, so peaceful and quiet, surrounded by lots of greens and blues. The cabin itself was idyllic, we felt like king and queen. We cannot complain about any bugs as the cabin is well set up to keep them out! (Plus we used bug repellent spray being surrounded by jungle) I highly recommend this amazing place to stay.

Nous avons absolument tout apprécié dans ce logement et avons passé un merveilleux séjour ! L’hôtel nous a parfaitement aidés à organiser nos différents transferts, aussi bien pour notre arrivée depuis Trincomalee que pour notre départ vers Yala, ce qui a été très appréciable. Nous vous recommandons également d’utiliser leur service de tuk-tuk, avec des tarifs très avantageux. Nous avons eu quelques déconvenues avec certains tuk-tuks de la ville d’Ella, alors que le service de l’hôtel a toujours été fiable et très pratique. La chambre est très bien équipée, le cadre est magnifique et la nourriture était excellente. Le personnel est adorable, chaleureux et toujours aux petits soins pour nous. Nous avons passé un très beau moment ici et il est certain que nous n’oublierons pas notre séjour. Nous sommes même un peu tristes de partir ! Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour votre accueil et votre gentillesse. ❤️

Un soggiorno davvero speciale immersi nella natura di Ella. La Tea Cabin è accogliente, curata e con un’atmosfera super rilassante. Abbiamo adorato la tranquillità, il panorama e l’attenzione dei proprietari. Un piccolo angolo di paradiso che consigliamo assolutamente! Voto 10 e lode/10.

Una chicca da non perdersi a Ella! Un po’ fuori centro città ma comoda per raggiungere il famoso 9 arches bridge con una breve passeggiata in un percorso non battuto da turisti. La struttura è completamente immersa nelle piantagioni di the, la villetta indipendente è molto grande all’interno, bagno ampio e molto pulito, la parte forte è l’ambiente esterno dotato di rete su cui riposarsi sospesi nel verde, piccola piscina privata e sdraio per un relax tra le piantagioni di the assicurato al 100%. Staff disponibile, possibilità di ordinare la cena in camera, servizio tuk tuk incluso.

Unica cosa che aggiungerei è una zanzariera da letto, essendo la struttura nel verde.

Die Villa mit eigenem Pool war schon echt top!! Es hat bis auf paar Kleinigkeiten an nichts gefehlt. Super Personal, Kommunikation über WhatsApp sehr praktisch!

Frühstück auf der Terrasse ist ohne Tisch und auf den schweren Holzstühlen etwas unbequem. Kühlschrank hätte sich jeden Tag nachgefüllt gehört.

Everything was perfect; nothing to say! We should have taken at least two nights instead of just one.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ella Tea Cabins and would recommend it to anyone visiting Ella. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon, and it was the perfect place to relax. The cabins are beautiful, incredibly private, and each has its own pool, a gorgeous bathroom, and an upstairs lounge overlooking the jungle. It felt so peaceful being surrounded by nature, and having breakfast served on our private porch every morning with that view was such a highlight. The development is still being completed, so lunch and dinner are currently served in your room, but we actually really enjoyed this as it made our stay feel even more private. The service was exceptional from start to finish. You can simply WhatsApp the staff with anything you need, and they’re always quick to reply and happy to help. They also provide a complimentary tuk tuk between the main road and the cabins, which is such a thoughtful touch and makes arriving and leaving effortless. The location is fantastic too. You can easily walk to the famous Nine Arches Bridge, and Ella town is only a short tuk tuk ride away, so you get the best of both worlds: a peaceful escape while still being close to everything. A huge thank you to the whole team for making our honeymoon so special. We would happily stay here again!

The cabin was absolutely lovely, spacious and overlooking our own private bit of jungle, well equipped with everything you could need. As the dining room was being renovated we had food sent to our room - it was excellent.

The place is lovely, but not centrally located in Ella and is accessible by tuktuk. Be aware that they are currently renovating (July 2026), so there is a small reception area, but no lobby or dining room.

We stayed in the chalet and it was very special. We are celebrating our honeymoon and they made a real fuss of us. The location is beautiful, very serene, and the staff were really accommodating and with complimentary tuktuk rides into Ella city. We’d really recommend the tea cabins if you can book!

It was so beautiful, a little hide out on the side of a mountain! Although a bit further from the city but the complimentary Tuktuk ride added to the experience. Woke up to the birds. It was an amazing building and we were provided with everything we needed, mini bar, toiletries etc. staff were very polite, dinner and breakfast were delivered with such care and on top of that the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend!

There was some work going on but it was easy to ignore. The floor was a bit slippy around the pool and in the bathroom, perhaps consider real stone tiles. The restaurant was not open, but getting the food delivered was a fantastic option!

The best value for money accommodation we had stayed at in Sri Lanka. Nestled up in the Ella jungle hills, this beautifully thought out complex welcomes you. A beautiful place to sit in the pool and watch native wildlife around you and see the mist fall through the trees at dusk.

We had the chalet with one bedroom but this was vert poorly renovated. It was not to the same standard as the other villa. There were also wild cats in the roof making alot of noise at night and this was not very pleasant. The location is also 15mins with a tuktuk.

Prachtig verblijf met mooi uitzicht op de vallei. Het restaurant is onder verbouwing, maar hierdoor kan je genieten van lekker eten op jouw eigen terras. Ook leuk dat ze per nacht 2 tuktuk ritten voorzien naar Ella (1x heen & terug).

De ligbedden aan het privézwembad zijn relatief hard en aan vervanging toe.

A beautiful Villa with amazing views. It is a little bit out of Ella town but the staff will organise a Tuk Tuk for you to go in and out of town and pick you up from the station if you arrive by train. The Villa's are all very private and the pool is great. If you don't want to go into town for meals, the room service menu is lovely and you can enjoy it on your own deck.

There was a lot to like about our stay at the Tea Cabins. Upon arrival, they offer complimentary tuk tuks to help you climb the tea hills to your accommodation. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Our cabin was beautiful and overlooked the surrounding mountains. We truly felt secluded in our cabin barely being able to see the other accommodations. Food was amazing and we were able to organize Sri Lankan and Western options. They also offered tuk tuks with reasonable prices to go see sites and close activities. We really enjoyed our stay here and really felt like we were in Tea country

The location was absolutely perfect, not too far from the main centre, offering a quiet and peaceful stay. The cabins were beautiful and had everything you needed. The staff were so accommodating, offering a free tuk-tuk to and from the town centre, made for the perfect day trips. Breakfast delivered to your door daily, offering a wide selection of options. Communication was wonderful, send a message and everything you needed was ready to go. Food was amazing and once again delivered to your door. Such kindness and comfort was prevalent throughout our stay. The hard working each and everyone puts in to your stay to make it so welcoming, doesn’t go unnoticed. We will definitely be back one day and once the new build is complete I can only imagine how beautiful it will be.

- blijkbaar restaurant aan het renoveren dus eten op de kamer, op een klein salontafeltje - een gewone tuktuk geraakt niet boven met 2pers dus moet je uitstappen laatste stukje, ook nog wel wat trappen eer je aan je kamer bent. dit is niet erg maar met grote hitte valt dit tegen. - er zouden doeken of iets over de ligbedden op terras moeten zijn want je kan niet gaan zitten op die kussens (verbrand je)

We had a wonderful stay at Tea Cabins. This was actually our second stay with them, as we had stayed at another one of their cabins the day before, and both experiences were excellent. It really shows the consistency of their hospitality and service. The location is beautiful, with stunning views that we were able to enjoy even during the rainy weather. The staff were incredibly supportive and went above and beyond to help us, including assisting with carrying our luggage despite the rain. The food was fantastic and was conveniently served to our room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We also really appreciated the complimentary tuk-tuk service to Ella town, which was very helpful and made getting around easy. Unfortunately, we didn’t get enough time to enjoy the pool because of the rain, but everything else exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Tea Cabins to anyone visiting Ella and would definitely love to come back again. Thank you for another amazing stay!

Uitzicht was veel minder dan verwacht. Rare badkamer met aflopende stukken onder de wasbak ect. Water in de douche liep niet weg. ‘S ochtends nooit warm water uit de douche/kraan. Kakkerlak binnen bij aankomst. Van te voren bij het boeken niet vermeld dat de restaurant faciliteiten gesloten waren wegens verbouwing. Dit is erg slecht

Amazing location 15mins from Ella center, lovely cabin and incredibly kind and helpful staff. They made a WhatsApp group a week before arrival for all questions and communication. They helped us arrange taxis to and from Ella, lovely breakfasts and dinner, and all the tuktuks rides while we stayed. Really attentive!

The staff were absolutely helpful with every request we had. The view is incredible. I can only recommend this stunning location. The pool and facilities are in very good shape and is worth the money.

We stayed in the loft type cabins with the pool right in front of the vila and oh my gosh the views are amazing. This place was an absolute delight. The room was a great size comfy bed and air conditioned. The staff were also the sweetest people in the world, it was my birthday and they set up a super surprise for me and really made my day. It’s a great place to stay in Ella. It’s a bit away from the noise of the main town but that’s absolutely what makes it so great. Plus they have a tuk tuk to take you whenever you want. I highly recommend. Not to mention what great value it was.

Die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum. Sie liegt zwar etwas ausserhalb, was jedoch kein Problem darstellt, da das Hotel einen zuverlässigen Shuttle-Service in die Stadt anbietet. Dafür geniesst man eine herrliche Aussicht und viel Ruhe, ganz für sich allein. Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel und stilvoll eingerichtet, und die Dusche funktioniert einwandfrei. Das Personal ist jederzeit freundlich und bei Anliegen oder Essensbestellungen schnell zur Stelle. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Alles war super! Schöne Cabin mit privaten Pool! Super Zustand! 😀 Man konnte das Essen aufs Zimmer bestellen. Generell das Essen war super lecker (Curries, Fried Noodles, Kottu, ...). Das Team der Tea Cabins kümmert sich um alles und bietet kostenfreie Tuk Tuk Fahrten ins Zentrum an. 😀 Definitiv empfehlenswert!

Love the place, room was lovely and veryyyyy spacious, beautiful pool even though we couldn’t use it due to the rain and the outdoor area was very nice.

the lack of privacy in the private pools

We had a great stay here and the staff honestly couldn’t have been more helpful. Before we even arrived, they arranged our transport from Colombo and also helped organise our onward travel to Udawalawe, which made everything really easy and stress-free. The room was comfortable and the bed was very comfy, with a nice shower and beautiful scenic views from the property. We also really appreciated the free breakfast delivered directly to the room each morning — such a nice touch. Drinks and food were also available throughout the stay which was very convenient. The pool was lovely to relax in during the heat of the day, although it was absolutely freezing! Still very refreshing after being out exploring. The location was great for visiting the Nine Arches Bridge, only a short distance away. Just be prepared for a walk through a very dark tunnel filled with birds on the way there — definitely part of the experience! The upstairs rooms also had Netflix which was nice for relaxing in the evenings. Overall though, a really enjoyable stay with genuinely excellent service and hospitality.

The only downside for us was that the upstairs room didn’t have air conditioning, which made it quite warm at times.

Prachtige cabine op een heuvel met mooi uitzicht. De cabine heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, goed bed, schone badkamer, mini bar, TV, terrasje met je eigen ligbedden en zwembad. Het is er schoon en stil. De medewerkers super vriendelijk en service gericht. Ze zijn het restaurant aan het verbouwen en eigenlijk is dat niet zo erg want ze bezorgen ontbijt, lunch en diner in je cabine. Dit vonden wij erg knus. Eten was gevarieerd en erg lekker. Een eigen Tuktuk brengt je op verzoek naar Ella of naar een van de bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. We kunnen deze accommodatie van harte aanbevelen. Je krijgt er geen spijt van als je hier heerlijk komt ontspannen.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing as they tried too hard to provide full English and they do not have bacon , it would have been preferable to have more fruit and yoghurt . Be prepared for steep steps and a Tuk Tuk ride up a very steep narrow path! Not for anyone with mobility issues.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Tea Cabins. The accommodation was spotless and the staff were very attentive and helpful. It is in a very quiet area, around a 10 minute tuktuk drive from Ella centre, but they provide you with a tuktuk service to and from the cabins making this an easy commute for dinner etc. The breakfast is delivered to your room and is delicious. The views from the cabin are beautiful and the pool was great, we were sad to leave!!

We had a wonderful stay at Tea Cabins in Ella. The location is fantastic - peacefully tucked away from the busy town, yet still very easy to access everything. On our first night, we stayed in the round chalet, which had stunning views. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also took an early morning walk to Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak - both were easy to reach, and the staff kindly helped arrange a tuk-tuk for us. A day later, we stayed in their A-frame cabin, which was even more beautiful and made the experience extra special. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable stay. Highly recommend, and we would definitely come back!

An absolutely beautiful stay in Ella—I can’t recommend this place enough. The A-frame cabins are gorgeous, offering stunning multi-level views of the mountains. Having a private pool and lounge area felt like true luxury, and nothing beats waking up to those vistas and enjoying breakfast poolside. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly, keeping us cool throughout our stay. What really set this place apart was the service. The staff were fantastic, incredibly responsive, and organized complimentary tuk-tuks for us for everything from our initial pickup to trips into Ella town. The food was equally impressive—the Sri Lankan breakfast delivered to our room was a particular highlight. We truly hope to be back!

One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka! The private infinity pool overlooking the mountains was an absolute highlight and made the stay truly unforgettable. Both dinner and breakfast were served in the room and were delicious. There is also a lovely shared pool available, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. The free tuk-tuk pickup from Ella was very helpful and made arrival easy and stress-free. Our only regret was not staying longer than one night - we would definitely visit again!

we were very excited to stay here, and it more than exceeded our expectations. it is a little off the beaten track, but they organise tuk tuks for you to and from ella centre free of charge, and to other key locations for an excellent price. the tuk service was outstanding, they pick you up from anywhere in ella within 15 minutes, at any time. the room itself was incredibly designed and super clean, with lots of amenities. it felt very secluded and private, and they decorated the room beautifully for our anniversary. the staff went above and beyond constantly. i would not have wanted to stay anywhere else in ella. breakfast was also really nice, and very big considering it was included with the room.

I was kindly given a complimentary upgrade to an A-frame cabin, which made the stay even more special. Breakfast was lovely, and we really enjoyed walking to the nearby Nine Arch Bridge. The team couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The private pool was a real highlight, and the cabin had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing experience. The tuk-tuk service to Ella town was a great added touch and made getting around incredibly easy. We would definitely visit again!

Everything! The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. I needed help with some mosquito repellent and the staff went into the town to get it for me. The cabin was incredible and the location is out of this world- the views are amazing. The food was also incredible. The stay was 10/10 and was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.

The newly built a-frame cabin is luxuriously appointed and spacious inside with a comfy bed looking out to the view overlooking the valley. With a large patio and pool overhanging the hillside with tropical plantings surrounding, the Tea cabins are a unique place to stay. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Free tuk tuk service into town was a bonus and the complementary breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Location close to 9 arch bridge via a short walk along the nearby railway is a plus.

The location is farther from town than expected and food service at the property is limited at this time. This will improve as they are currently building a new restaurant and 3 more cabins on site.

We loved our stay at Tea Cabins. They are stunning buildings and incredibly spacious inside and out. Nicely appointed, a comfy bed, and storage space inside. Breakfast was served on our terrace overlooking nature - simply perfect. It was plentiful and tasty with a western and Sri Lankan option. The pool and private sun deck were such a tranquil treat between exploring the surrounding area. It was a joy to just sit - or lie out on the over-jungle netting - and watch the birds, monkeys, deer, and other wildlife do its thing. There’s a free and super-handy tuktuk service into Ella, which is a 10-15 minute ride away. It was always available and very prompt to arrive. Logement incroyable, au milieu de la nature. Seuls au monde. Un peu loin du centre animé mais ils mettent en place un service du tuktuk inclus et ca c’est vraiment chouette pour aller diner le soir.

Our stay at Tea Cabins was really amazing! Nice views, beautiful cabin, private pool and the staff was very friendly. It is a bit outside of the city (which we actually liked) but they offered us a free tuktuk ride to and from Ella city center so this was no problem. And as a bonus you can take a beautiful walk directly from the cabins along the train tracks to the Nine Arch Bridge.

A unique stay right in the middle of nature. You really feel like you’re in the jungle (without wildlife… hopefully 😂). It’s very peaceful, though nights are more for staying indoors as the little “nature guests” come alive around you 😂 The cabins are beautifully rustic, very clean, and you can feel the quality in the build. The views are amazing, and the private pool is a great touch, would be even better with heating for colder weather. They also offer a tuktuk service with two free rides per night stay, plus discounted rates for additional trips, which is very convenient. The food, including breakfast and other menu traditional dishes, was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious. Thank you for the honeymoon lovely room decoration and thebwarm welcome!

A heated pool would make it more enjoyable in colder weather. The bathroom door to the outdoors could use a lock from outside to lock the door after exiting. Also, placing the pool light/torch higher up could help attract flies away from the pool area

Sehr tolle Unterkunft mit wahnsinnig nettem Personal, sie fahren einem mehrmals gratis nach Ella und zurück mit dem Tuktuk (15 Minuten) und helfen bei allen Wünschen (bspw. Tipps für Umgebung) weiter. Sehr leckeres Essen wird serviert.

The cabins were in a fantastic location - quiet, peaceful and with beautiful views. The staff were so accomodating and friendly. The free daily return tuk tuk trip into the main street was great and they organised well priced transfers and day trips! The food was also delicious.

We had an incredible stay in Ella! The location in the middle of the jungle made the whole experience feel magical and peaceful. The Tea Cabins were absolutely perfect—beautifully designed, very comfortable, and surrounded by nature. The private pool was a highlight and made our stay even more special. Waking up to the jungle views was unforgettable. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella!

We loved the cabin! It is up lots of steps but that gives you a view! They provide tuk tuks free of changes to Ella which really helped! Very peaceful, clean and a treat to stay in something so unusual.

The sunken bath is very slippery and needs mats in the bottom and on the steps. I feel and hurt my back badly.

Es war perfekt. Wir hatten die Unterkunft mit dem langen Pool. Das Zimmer war super ausgestattet, toll eingerichtet, gute Lage und einfach traumhaft schön. Das Personal war super nett und immer verfügbar. Die Tea Cabins sind etwas außerhalb, aber man hat pro Nacht zwei Tuktuk Fahrten umsonst, in der Stadt ist man mit dem Tuktuk innerhalb von 5-10 Minuten. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Moskitonetze unbedingt mitbringen, es sind leider noch meine vorhanden.

Geweldig verblijf gehad. Het uitzicht, de service en de prijs- kwaliteit verhouding. Alles klopte! We hadden maar 1 nacht geboekt en hadden spijt dat we niet langer konden blijven. Echt een paradijs!

The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had x2 free Tuk Tuk trips into Ella town each day was very generous. We loved our stay at Tea Cabins, the pool, view and cabin was amazing! And it was nice to be only 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to town, but you have the quietness of being outside of town. We were on our honeymoon and the staff very kindly decorated the room for us which was such a lovely surprise. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately the main part with the restaurant and pool was being redone while we were there, so any food we ordered was delivered to our room instead of being able to sit somewhere. As lovely as it is having room service and eating on our own, it meant the food wasn't always hot when it had arrived. However the food was absolutely delicious!

Loved the place! Super friendly staff and the cottage clean and new. The pool amazing and breakfast and dinner would also recommend. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer

We stayed at the Tea Cabin on the recommendation of a friend who came the year before. We weren't disappointed! The cabin was really spacious with it's own little pool, and the main pool for swimming was just a few steps away. The cabin itself is designed well, and we appreciated the provision of a mosquito net over the bed. The shower was great - hot and powerful, probably the best one we had in Sri Lanka! The team at the Tea Cabins were always on hand and very helpful. The Tea Cabins are a short (approx 10 min) tuk tuk ride from Ella which was very easy to arrange through the management team. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone else going to Sri Lanka.

Lovely quiet location, with helpful staff to organise tuk tuk into Ella. Nothing was too much trouble.
