Breakfast was awesome and it was a beautiful morning so we got to eat outside! We were able to walk to dinner and have a walk in the morning to check out the old rail tunnel.
the neighbourhood around the B & B is very run down...we felt safe, but it's a shame others don't have the same pride in ownership or financial ability to keep up their properties...this is not a reflection of the owners of this property, just an observation
Our hosts were warm and welcoming. Ida showed us the facilities, including how to operate the television. She showed us on a map where we were in relation to what we wanted to see and do. She made recommendations for places to eat and gave us our breakfast times and menu options. I am eager to return.
Everything exceeded expectations.
The hosts Ida and David made my stay welcoming The location was great and convenient to restaurants and various sightseeing locations
Nothing
This was our favorite stay in our 10 day trip. Everything was perfect.
Excellent breakfast - generous portions!
Beautiful house! Cozy and luxurious at the same time! Warm welcome and lovely hosts! Fabulous breakfast that really spoiled us!
Not a single thing
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the beautiful home of Ida and David. They were such a friendly and lovely couple. Their historical home was absolutely gorgeous! We especially loved the antique furniture, artwork and stunning stained glass windows and lamps. We stayed in the spacious queen suite and enjoyed all the complimentary amenities (e.g. coffee, tea, water). The B & B is centrally located so we could walk everywhere to see the sites and visit the restaurants recommended by our gracious hosts. The generous made-to-order breakfast was delicious. You should definitely stay here if you’re visiting Brockville!
The house was beautiful and very elegant and kept and maintained to a very high standard Breakfasts were excellent
I like a quiet breakfast and hosts were very warm and friendly but a wee bit too chatty at that time of day!
Les propriétaires, la déco, le déjeuner ! Tout !
Our hosts, Ida and David, were very welcoming and friendly. Their home has kept its historical beauty mixed with all the modern amenities. Our suite was very comfortable and I appreciated the separate little sitting area. We did not need our car while we were there. Everything is within walking distance. In the morning, Ida served a substantial and delicious breakfast out on the deck. All in all, it was a perfect little getaway.
Ida and David were wonderful hosts! From the moment of our arrival, we were treated as special guests and with warmth. Parking was right next to the front entrance, the grounds were lovely, and the room spotless. Ida gave detailed mapping of the area, complete with information about restaurants that were opened on July 1. Breakfast was delicious, and we had a great time of chatting around the table, like eating with family that you like. 😊 Thank you, Ida and David, for a beautiful stay!
Nothing. 😁
From the moment we arrived we could not have been made more welcome. A tour of the premises showed two lounges for guests as well as an outside area. Ida gave us a map of Brockville, highlighted a lovely walking route for us and marked the restaurants we were considering for dinner. We then went up to our suite which was beautiful; a separate seating area, spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed, and a lovely bathroom. The lounges had some really interesting books about Brockville - unfortunately we were only staying one night so we only got to skim them. Breakfast was delicious. Ida is a great cook and very careful with my need for a gluten free diet. We also met David and had a lovely chat with both our hosts, learning more about the house and its history. The Sir Isaac Brock B&B was a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable and centrally located, but it’s the hospitality and care from its hosts that make it stand out.
Vriendelijke betrokken hosts - mooie kamer - prima locatie - heerlijk ontbijt
Niets
It was a pity we only stayed the one night, the facilities were great, an amazing house.A bottle of water waiting in the room, plenty of room to read, watch t.v. or just relax, walking distance to some excellent bars/restaurants and the waterfront. And a very comfortable lounge to relax and check out the many interesting antiques. The breakfast was both 10/10 for quantity and quality.
Very hard to think of anything, maybe a more accessible receptacle in the bedroom for phone/ earing aid chargers. ( not a big deal)we would definitely drop by again if the chance comes up again.
Super freundliche Gastgeber. Tolles, außergewöhnliches Frühstück.
This historic home, Sir Isaac Brock B&B, was the most beautiful B&B I have stayed in, in Ontario. Hosts Ida & David were lovely, friendly and interesting. Both the King and Queen bedrooms were beautifully appointed each with a sitting room and bathroom. My queen bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept like a rock (this is high praise from someone who does not sleep well). We also used the games room and 2 sitting rooms available for guests. Breakfast was delicious each morning - Ida is obviously an excellent cook. I highly recommend this beautiful historic home to anyone travelling in this area.
We loved it
Fabulous! Worthy of a king/Queen!
Nothing!
Very welcoming. Historic feel in building but not decor
The pillows looked great but were too thick and hard for my comfort. They made my neck sore Also thought the Christmas decor lacking creatively. A 200 year old building should not have $store ornaments on tree even if they were nicely hung.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a wonderful four-night stay and can’t say enough good things about this B&B. The innkeepers are incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfasts were delicious and something we genuinely looked forward to each morning, along with our daily chats — those personal touches truly set this place apart. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, creating a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. It’s clear how much care and pride go into every detail. We left already missing the breakfasts and conversations and are looking forward to returning next time we're in town. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming, personal B&B experience!
We had a fantastic stay here, at this beautiful historic house!
We just returned from an absolute wonderful stay at Sir Isaac Brock. Ida was cute as a button, warm and welcoming. Her husband David joined us for some chit chat while we had breakfast. Very cute couple. The B&B has vintage charm and very spacious. It is a 5 min walk to downtown. I would recommend and I hope to return as well! Thank you Ida!!!
Tolles B&B und super frisch gemachtes Frühstück. Ida und David sind sehr nette Gastgeber. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.
This is one of our favorite places to stay. Ida and David are gracious, friendly and accommodating. We stay in the King room, which is large, comfortable and has a separate sitting area. There is also a common area for guests on the second floor, between both rooms, with a beverage area. Everything in downtown Brockville is within walking distance, and 1000 Islands, Kingston and other towns are a short, easy drive. Ida’s breakfast is delicious, and a great way to start the day.
Wonderful rooms. Sitting room off the bedroom. 2 large living rooms on the main floor. Coffee/tea in room and also in the lounge on the second floor. Full breakfast cooked to order.
This is an absolutely delightful B&B, steeped in history, with wonderful hosts, in a lovely town. Ida and David made us very welcome. Our room was great and breakfast was outstanding. There are also two large, comfortable sitting areas for guests, with lots of interesting books to browse through. There are excellent restaurants and cafés within a few minutes walk, too. We very much enjoyed exploring Brockville and learning about its history. We would highly recommend this B&B and wished we had stayed more than one night. Thanks again, Ida and David. It was really good to meet you!
Nothing. It was all super.
Great location, quiet and good food. We would stay again if in the area.
A very nice surprise for a short stay, beautiful set up and lovely place for a relaxing evening and tasty breakfast. The restaurant recommendation was highly appreciated. Thanks Ida for her hospitality and kindness, all is well planned and in details. Highly recommended.
This property is the best B&B we have ever visited. The house is absolutely the most unique, well-kept and clean building. Each of the two-bedroom suits have its own full bath and sitting room/area as well as closets, tv and king size bed. There are also 2 living rooms that can be private or community rooms and there is a common dining room. All the rooms are very well appointed with comfortable leather chairs and sofas and many unique artifacts from earlier times. There is also a common game/tearoom on the same floor as the bedrooms. Whether in your bedroom or in one of the common rooms you don't have to look far to see a book, artifact, map, etc. that catches your attention. The owners, Ida and Dave Duc, have an amazing talent for furnishing and appointing each room. The included breakfasts are perfect to begin your day. Ida and Dave are very gracious hosts who are wonderful conversationalists. During our stay we felt like welcomed guests into their family. They are very knowledgeable in the Brockville area and local restaurants. Visiting this B&B was like visiting an old friend in their home. We can't wait to get back for a visit next year to become more familiar with the 1000 Islands area and catch up with our new old friends Dave and Ida. PS: If you have a favorite classic car that you need an excuse to drive, Dave and Ida would be more than happy to invite you into their home and give Dave a chance to show off his beautiful, red, Pontiac Solstice sports car.
What a wonderful B&B Inn, central location, beautiful period decor and excellent hosts. Breakfast with choices is excellent, highly recommended this Inn if you are coming to Brockville.
Very nice house with so nice owners who give you a warmth welcome! Perfect breakfast. We should have stayed longer to enjoy more of all.
The hosts were fabulous. The history and ambience of the B and B was wonderful. Short walks to the attractions downtown.
Nothing could detract from this lovely experience… if you can book it, then do it!!
Great location and amazing hosts. A special thank you to Ida and David. They made us feel very welcomed and shared some laughs together. Very clean and cozy with an amazing breakfast served. Would highly recommend this heritage home B&B.
Are stay at this heritage B&B was amazing. Special thank you to hosts Ida and David for making us welcome and comfortable. Stayed in the King suite and the room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was excellent. Walking distance to all attractions. Would highly recommend this heritage B&B.
Terrific stay. Would recommend 100%.
Thanks so much, Ida and David, for another enjoyable stay at your welcoming B&B! Our accommodation in your impeccable, roomy and beautifully-decorated King Suite was very comfortable. We were thankful for good weather, so we could enjoy our delicious breakfasts on your spacious back garden deck. It’s a treat for us to visit you each summer and to meet the interesting people who stay at your B&B. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Jim & Suzanne, Toronto Appreciated amenity not mentioned on website: magnifying mirror in bathroom
Arrived as guests and left as friends it felt like. Wonderful hosts and accommodations. Fantastic breakfast
Very interesting Sir Issac Brock decor. You couldn't as for a more welcoming and helpful couple, the best B&B ever. A wonderful visit. Highly recomended.
Beautiful suite, amazing breakfast and awesome host.
Wonderful, well run B&B. The hosts are magnificent. I have only two reservations: The air conditioning does not really make it upstairs and it is very expensive.
Magnificent house and awesome hosts. We highly recommend the Sir Brock b&b!
Very friendly, welcoming hosts. Spotless suite
great owners great food
The Sir Isaac Brock is a beautiful historic B&B. We stayed in the Queen Suite which was decorated tastefully and provided all the amenities we needed. The B&B has gorgeous common areas which include access to a lovely patio area where we were served a delicious, made-to-order breakfast. Ida and David are wonderful hosts who welcome you warmly into their beautiful home. We highly recommend this fabulous accommodation if you are staying in the Brockville area.
The owners Ida and Dave are the best. This is the third year in a row I have came and stayed in the King Suite. Clean spacious and super comfortable rooms. Ida makes the most amazing breakfast. Close to the down town core. Super quiet for its location. I highly recommend for a touch of elegance in keeping with the history of this city. Thanks for the amazing stay once again.
Brockville is a charming, eclectic town with charming architecture, beautiful water vistas. The b&b was outstanding. Full of historic artifacts and really nice people. Food was good, too!
The Queen Suite is the most opulent accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. Spacious, very cozy and comfortable. In addition to three sitting rooms their patio is the place for the scrumptious breakfast the affable owners provide. 2 thumbs up & 5Stars.
Ida and her husband are amazing hosts! Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! We stayed two nights and the breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend staying here whenever in the Brockville area! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful period home filled with history. Ida and David are wonderful hosts. We will be back.. highly recommend.
Ida and her husband are amazing hosts! Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! We stayed two nights and the breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend staying here whenever in the Brockville area! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful home away from home! Park your vehicle and walk to quaint shops, dining, waterfront parks and events. Ida and David are lovely hosts , highly recommend! Looking forward to our next visit.
Floor, unique but walk with some noizy, naybe cover with capet would be nicer! Otherwise perfact at all
Breakfast was made to order and excellent with many choices. The bed was very comfortable . The hosts were very friendly and informative about the area. The neighborhood was quiet with convenient parking
The breakfast time at 8:30 was a little early . Reminder there are many stairs ,not a problem for us but maybe for others.
Ida and David were perfect hosts. Breakfast was delicious
Very nice house with friendly owners. Breakfast was very tasty. Room is ample and very clean. Excellent choice to stay
Lots of history. Beautiful room and very clean washroom.
I have read previous reviews of the Sir Isaac Brock B&B and don't think there is anything new to add. Hosts Ida and Dave obviously enjoy their new lifestyle and certainly made us feel welcome into their lovely, historic home. Location was perfect, breakfast was delicious, rooms and furnishings very comfortable and private. I would highly recommend this B&B.
Warm and cosy, the perfect weekend getaway! Lots of character and charm, within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the arts centre. Delicious homemade breakfast by our lovely host Ida each morning.
The ambiance in this beautiful home is so welcoming which speaks volumes about the amazing hosts Ida & Dave, who so warmly welcome you into their home. The rooms are exquisite & the bed, oh so comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious & we felt so at home & enjoyed the great chats we had with Ida & Dave! What a great stay we had & the close proximity to everything was wonderful. We will definitely be returning & highly recommend this B & B.
Everything, great place to stay
Nothing,
Hosts were very friendly and full of great suggestions. Property is ideally located for exploring the area on foot. Would highly recommend!
Delightful stay ! Ida and David are the perfect hosts. They made us feel welcomed to their home and inn. The inn is walking distance to the theatre (5min) but still in a very quiet spot. The room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable The breakfast was made to our liking, delicious and plentiful. We hope to return to the Sir Isaac Brock B&B soon. Cheers ! Kristine & Glenn Orleans, On
This immaculate B&B is lovingly run and maintained by David and Ida, who will charm you as your sincerely caring hosts from the moment you step in (and remove your shoes. You are in a home, after all.). There are only two suites, but they have every comfort imaginable, with particular attention to luxurious bedding. The theme of the place's namesake is evident throughout, from his biography in one of the parlours to portraits and artifacts lining the walls. The history is a nice touch, but the elegant dining area and made-to-order breakfasts are even nicer! Book here. You won't regret it.
One of the absolute best B and B experiences Accommodation Fantastic Hospitality Fantastic Food Wow what a breakfast Highly recommended Very comfortable bed Historic 200+ year old house Great location walking distance to the historic downtown and the majestic st Lawrence river
The owners are very welcoming and the house is beautiful
Nicely kept, beautiful 200 year old home in the heart of Brockville. Very nice couple runs the B&B. Very informative and attentive to your needs. Breakfast was excellent. There are only two suites and are quite private. Parking is available in the driveway. Close to everything. You must see the train tunnel. Thank you, Ida and David, for providing the highlight to your getaway.
A little more vanity space in the bathroom would be nice.
Lovely beautifully maintained 200 year old inn. Hosts were warm and welcoming, very helpful in every way. Location convenient to all attractions. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We had a wonderful time at sir Isaac Brock B&B. Ida and David made us feel so welcome in their beautiful home. The room was comfortable and well equipped and our breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend this home and guarantee you will not be disappointed! It was a pleasure to meet you Ida and Dave. We’ll be back!
The owners were incredibly kind, accommodating and social. We got off later than expected just because we were having such a nice conversation over a delicious breakfast. The room was also spacious, and clean. It was a beautiful well kept vintage home.
A wonderful stay in a traditional French stone home that has been lovingly maintained and restored. The King Suite was comfortable, very clean, and well appointed. The side sitting room with comfortable wing back chairs was wonderful for reading or watching a TV program. Ida prepares delicious breakfasts - of which we got to choose our preference! David is welcoming and curious about each guest! We would stay here again.
As veterans travelers who frequent Bed and Breakfast Inns, we recognize a high quality venue when we experience one - and the Sir Isaac Brock B and B is one such location. Besides its central location to all of the historical and midtown attractions, the Inn itself conjures up an atmosphere quite in keeping with the prevailing architectural ethos of the neighbourhood. More importantly, of course, are the hosts. Dave and Ida are warm, engaging, knowledgeable and thorough in making our stay pleasant and memorable. The quality of the room, the related amenities and the food are all A+. Great value for the money. We will stay there again.
It is a lovely historical building close to the downtown in Brockville. Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, friendly hosts.
Very hospitable couple, great location to just walk to food & city interests. Breakfast is top notch & prepared fresh with choice of eating in or on nice deck, the history of the B&B is quite interesting, imagine staying in an 1824 Georgian Luxury suite, you won’t regret it.
Beautiful B&B in a renovated character home.Ina & Dave are wonderful hosts and were helpful with ideas for restaurants & sites in the area. The B&B is walkable to downtown. Breakfast was delicious. We will be back !
Ida and David are the perfect hosts. This bed and breakfast hit all the right spots, great location and lovely home filled with character. Our queen room and ensuite bathroom was spotless and very comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast on the deck. We will definately be back. Chrisine and Gino
We love staying with David and Ida! They are wonderful hosts and their bed and breakfast is beautiful !
While i would like to say that my stay at this B&B was great I didn't get the chance to stay. I had been looking for a spot to lay my head for one night with my wife while in Brockville (for the first time) and came across this place. Looked great, good reviews and so i decided to book it. I had checked the availability for my dates and booked a room but after 1-2 minutes (literally) i noticed i had selected the wrong week, totally my bad. I cancelled it immediately and looked at the correct dates i wanted but it appeared to be full so i just left it at that. To my surprise a few days later my credit card was charged the full rate of the room. I called to inquire and verify that my reservation had been cancelled (which they confirmed it had been) but that i refund would be issued a refund in up to two weeks less a $25 charge for cancelling the booking. I was quite shocked that a booking of literally 2 minutes got a charge of $25 for zero administration effort on the part of the B&B. The excuse i got was that the credit card company charges them, that may or may not be true but it's just bad customer service and relations in my opinion. In the end i paid the $25 and it was completely my fault for not verifying my dates before clicking but that just left a bad customer service taste in my mouth. In any event my wife and i found a much more reasonable B&B around the corner called "Widow's Peak" that was fantastic and were taken care of like royalty.
This was our second visit to Ida and Dave’s B&B, and it definitely did not disappoint. The location, their home, the room, the food and the hospitality were first rate. Be sure to read our previous review, as it captures our experience at Sir Isaac Brock B&B, well. Thank you for being such gracious hosts!
