Sandman Hotel Hamilton

There was no breakfast offered

Unfortunately, my stay at the Sandman Hotel in Hamilton was very disappointing. The room was dusty and did not feel properly cleaned. The biggest issue, however, was the lack of sound insulation. Since the hotel is right next to the highway, you can hear almost every vehicle passing by, including throughout the night. On top of that, noise from the room upstairs was very noticeable. we could clearly hear people walking and talking. It made it extremely difficult to sleep comfortably. Another frustrating part of the experience was having to follow up multiple times to get my invoice after checking out. I was told that because I booked through Booking.com, the invoice could simply be provided at checkout. In my opinion, this should have been handled much more smoothly, regardless of where the reservation was made since they were the host. Overall, between the cleanliness, excessive noise, and poor follow-up regarding the invoice, this was not the comfortable hotel stay I expected. Unfortunately, I would not choose this hotel again.

Great location and gave a more luxury feel for a much cheaper price.

The air conditioner was very noisy when it came on. This was especially a nuisance in the middle of the night.

No hot water in shower, no kettle and coffee maker was not clean (previous guest had put a coffee bag in the water reservoir) which I had to clean thoroughly to use for water.

Front desk staff was awesome. Nice lounge area. Beautiful shower / bathroom in the room.

Gym was a little small. Anymore than 2 people is a little crowded

We stayed in a queen with 2 beds room. Location is ideal near to the highway + food places within 5-10 mins drive. Check-in and check-out was easy. Room was spotless and quiet at night. Overall great value. Stayed for one night only and didn't use any other service like breakfast hence can't say anything about it.

When we reached we were told to wait as room was not ready (we reached after check-in time) and I understand sometimes it happens but we did a long travel and after hotel check-in there was more so it's kind of frustrating but after few minutes we were told room is ready and check-in was quick, my only point is that if you ask customers to wait then also let them know what compensation you're willing to provide. The shower in the bathroom was not good it was just okay, the water force was not enough for taking a good bath.

The hotel and room were very clean and nice in appearance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hot tub was nice.

The pool and pool room were not up to expectation. The pool and room were small. The pool was a little cloudy. The room had almost no seating. There were 2 small benches, which was of little to no use if there are more than 4 people in the pool. And with fabric cushions, someone sits on it after being in the pool, and now no one can sit there if they are only watching their kids (one father had to just stand around while his kids swam). There needs to be much more seating, even just for putting your own towels/clothing somewhere. If a pool is high on your list of amenities, as it is for us, probably not the place for you.

We requested higher floor but staff insisted that only 1floor available and the room was close to elevators and restaurant we couldn't sleep as it was too noisy outside our room middle of the night and early morning,

Location was good.

When we got into the room the window was opened. We were on the first floor. Also a man walked by the window on the grass area. Seemed a little strange. Shower door would not stay closed. Kept sliding back.

The room and bathroom was decent and clean

We didn’t get to use the pool. It was dirty. The Ac is not cold enough and it was already on 19

Big space rooms.

For Hamilton this is a great hotel. The staff weren’t extra friendly but they were providing the necessary customer service. The first room they put me in smelled like smoke and I asked them to move me and they did no problem. The moxies is amazing, great staff and great service, plus delicious food.

The building was clean and well maintained for being in Hamilton and I also loved that moxies and Denny’s were right in the property

We went down to use the hot tub and the whole room was filled with several Indian families who used it the whole night until it closed at 10 pm. I think there should be a time limit, like twice on the timer.

WE liked the little studio upgrade. Last time we stayed there, we had a problem with the shower being too hot. This time, it wasn't a problem. The shower is really nice! The room was nice, we liked having a table where we could play a card game, we appreciated the fridge and the kitchen is well stocked!

The hotel room door does NOT lock for room 310, and the latch above was broken.

Appreciate that the washroom had a full door that fully closes with no window. Extractor fan grille was very clean, which is not common. Comfortable bed.

Surprised there was no grab bar or handle in the tub/shower.

Prachtige hotelkamer met gratis upgrade en late uitcheck! Super vriendelijk personeel! Er waren een paar kleine dingetjes niet helemaal in orde in de kamer. We hebben dit aangegeven en kregen een ontbijtbon bij Deny’s hiervoor. Super service!

This was the second time we had issues with the water. The first stay…the water stayed boiling hot and it was impossible to shower. The second stay we had the same issue but eventually were able to get it lukewarm. We got upgraded to a suite…which felt dirty, dusty and the sofa had stains. I almost wish we hadn’t been upgraded. Not having a tv you can cast to from your phone or at least a tv with streaming options was also a letdown especially for the price

Modern look.

We stayed there for three nights. However, the rooms were not cleaned during our stay, neither the beds were made etc. or the towels were replaced. I had put the sign outside and also had called a night before! I had to call them again; I could only get the towels and some toiletries.

We arrived late and the front desk staff upgraded us from a room to a suite. The suite was large, well furnished, and very clean. If we are in the area again we would stay at the Sandman.

I love the location.

Room was exceptional 👌 Little kitchen was super cute and very functional Hot tub was a perfect size and pool was super cute and not too cold.

The shower wasnt bad just needs to have a few things fixed the water would randomly leak a bit and maintaining a temp was difficult.

Shower was fabulous but wasn’t working properly. Water was scalding hot even the cold faucet was only hot water so hard to take a shower without getting burned. Didn’t notify staff as it was 3 am so dealt with it. No one was at the desk so couldn’t relay message in the am either.

The area the motel was in was easy access from highway and all stores and restaurants around were great

Noticed in our room that there was pretzel pieces on the carpet behind the chair in the corner...not one of the four of us eat pretzels. Clearly it was "missed" during previous cleaning.

The location was amazing for what we needed !

We went in to do the paper work early so that we only had to grab our key late at night ! When I went to get my key later I had to do paperwork again ! I also paid for a room with a balcony and I did not get a room with a balcony !

Location was great, front desk staff were amazing, check in and check out was super easy. Loved that the restaurant is connected to the hotel, very convenient.

The furniture in the room was damaged and the bathroom was not clean. There was hair in the shower and sink. The hand towels were dingy looking and there was garbage on the floor behind the toilet.

Our room was very nice & spacious. The bed was comfortable.

We had a leak at the bathroom door frame from the room above. It was taken care of by staff. I didn't care for the shower design. It's made to accommodate a wheelchair, but because the shower curtain didn't reach the floor, the water ran out on the floor. That may have been what happened from the room above. The pool is quite small but the whirlpool was nice.

I like the peace and quiet and the friendliness of the staff.

Breakfast is not included (although Dennis was willing to provide it) and I would have liked to stay longer, perhaps the option of a late check-out.

This property was amazing and having Dennys so close was awesome.

I found it very dark and dirty looking. Looked old even though I heard it wasn’t that old. Staff wasn’t engaging and not very helpful.

On two occasions, there was no staff representatives at the Welcome Desk delaying my check-in time. I arrived around 8:30 pm.

Lage: Direkt an der Highway, im Bereich einer Shopping Gegend. Leckeres Steakhouse mit „Sports Bar“ und einem unseren „all American“ respective hier „all Canadian“ 24 h Breakfast Place „Denny‘s“ direkt abgeschlossen.

Der „Safe“ war kaputt. Funktionierte nicht, plus ständiges Summen . Wir haben das an der Reception gemeldet. Die Antworten waren: - haben wir „Safes“? - braucht Ihr den den Safe? - jetzt ist es schon zu spät (ca. 17:30) die Personen die für so Sachen Zuständig sind nicht mehr da. Dann müsst Ihr das Zimmer wechseln. Das wollte wir nicht. - es wurde versprochen dass sie sich am Folgetag darum kümmern… was NICHT geschehen ist. So musste mein Mann, damit wir in Ruhe schlafen konnten, selber die Kabel in dem Safe temporär heraus schrauben)
