Fabulous location walkable distance to racecourse shops canal/walls etc. Staff and food were outstanding,

Would not want to stay in room 4 again as it was very noisy at night, and early mornings, loud music until 3am, bin men and street cleaning 5/6am we had to have the window open because the room was very warm (early September) despite using the fan in the room, we just found our 3 night stay tiring due to lack of sleep.

Location and ease of nearby parking. Lively but relaxed atmosphere all evening at the location.

Staff were so welcoming with a great attitude. The lady who checked us in was a credit to the company. Location was perfect. Room was enormous.

All of the staff were so nice and friendly, the food we had was excellent and great value money they catered for my wheat intolerance with no issues at all so very grateful for that , the location was great and would definitely recommend and would go back if we went back to Chester again

The only slight glitch was the bed could of been a little bit more comfortable , but wasn't a major issue

The bed in room 4 was very uncomfortable the mattress was thin and very used, it was like sleeping on springs. The place could do with a refresh, whilst bedding was fresh, the bathroom had sealant broken, broken tiles and stains on carpet.

Friendly staff; great breakfast. Close to Cathedral. Generous room and bathroom size. Nice to have a big bath as well as an excellent shower. Given the heat in the room we appreciated the huge electric fan.

Not a lot - definitely not a 4 star hotel and barely a 3 star

Dated and shabby - hallways dingy and with odours - curtains hanging off hooks - no mini-fridge - duvet cover too big for duvet - grout coming out of tiles in bathroom- bath towels too small - no staff overnight - no servicing of room - had to ask for soap for sink - toiletries minimal.

It is nosy in the mornings from deliveries etc outside but not the hotels fault.

Perfect weekend stay with my friend. Tge staff were lovely, location fantastic. We had a key to the side door so we could come & go at our leisure. Breakfast was fabulous. We will definitely return.

Me and my husband have been this weekend for a weekend getaway to Chester city centre and stayed in this lovely bar/restaurant and inn which is a wonderful beautiful building right across from the stunning cathedral and next door to the town hall ,situated on Northgate which has lots of bars and restaurants, the city walls, the big indoor market with lots of street food and stalls and is Very close to the theatre as well You really all in the mix of it all and the place is run by brilliant friendly staff who can’t do enough for you , we stayed in a double deluxe room which was a stunning room and very spacious . Situated right at the top at the front of the building,so yes it is up some stairs,unfortunately no lift ,but they helped my husband with the cases as I do struggle with walking and use a walking stick and with it being up at the top it is warmer but the rooms are provided with fans ,which is a bonus as it does help and they are double glazed to block some of the noise ,staying on a weekend especially at peak times you expect from the bars and outside to be somewhat noisy and you should know that really when you book right in the heart of a city above a bar The bar and restaurant itself is wonderful and is very popular which I can definitely see why it’s reasonably priced so if you want to eat while you stay definitely book a table ,we had a very tasty meal on the Saturday with great cocktails as well ,the staff are very attentive,great service,wonderful atmosphere and I recommend having the breakfast as well with your stay for a extra £10 it is wonderful food it includes your drink as well and is great portions sizes We would definitely stay again

Very slight niggle of mine could do with bigger towels and the non slip and bottom of bath was bit worn so could do with a new no slip mat for showers in baths for showers

Location is spot on. Central to pubs, restaurants and all the tourist sights. Second time we’ve stayed here. Spacious rooms and incredibly clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are so helpful and polite. Superb breakfast for the money. Great food served throughout the day.

The room design was precious and there was so much space!! The room was so quiet for being right above the restaurant/bar. Also breakfast in the morning was no wait and delicious. The location of this hotel is right in the middle of the city so perfect distance to get to everything that you need!

This is a beautiful Old building full of character. The rooms have been decorated well with comfy beds and lots of space. We loved our view of the street as we love to people watch and it is a lovely old town. They even provided a powerful fan as it was a very hot weekend. This was perfect for us as there was no aircon as it’s an old building.

No one answered the side entrance doorbell so we had to walk through the pub to reception. Only a problem as I don’t walk too well but really only a few steps extra.

Friendly staff, lovely food and drink, amazing location with a great outside seating area. The room was large with a huge comfy bed. Visited during the heatwave, a large fan provided which helped. Air con would have been amazing.

The hotel was a beautiful old building, in a fantastic location in the centre of Chester. The room was a large and spacious corner room overlooking a main square. The bed was large and comfortable.

The bathroom was in need of renovating. The hot tap was loose and difficult to turn off completely, to stop it dripping. The non-slip bits on the bottom of the bath were worn, so not really non-slip any longer. I realise that the hotel is a listed building, and any work would be difficult, but air conditioning would definitely have been a bonus as it was exceptionally hot, even with the windows open and a large noisy fan on full blast.

Central location great and close to parking but some late night noise from city center. Weather warm so rooms hot - fan (slightly noisy) provided though. Room size variable across party but same price charged per room.

Breakfast staff very friendly and amenable however one breakfast served did not mirror menu - bacon and avocado on sour dough was served on standard white cut loaf bread. All edible and cooked well but would probably have chosen alternative menu option if this had been communicated in advance of being served.

The Coach House Inn is in a great location, right in the centre of town, opposite the Catherdral and the premium double room we stayed in was super spacious & clean. The staff were really friendly & the vegan breakfast was tasty & good value.

The room was in the 3rd floor & was uncomfortably warm overnight. There was a big fan in the room & 2 windows could open but the blackout curtains didnt allow the air to come in, so the fan just pushed hot air around. We did stay over a hot weather weekend, so it may be fine on a cooler weekend.

We stayed at a very hot time, so although a fan was provided the room was still too hot. This meant leaving windows open - hence we heard the late night noise from hen parties etc.

Room was clean and tidy. Reviews regarding the smell of the stairs leading to rooms was muggy smelling but as it constantly used it didn't bother us. Staff were very pleasant. Room was very stuffy during our stay even with the fan on but it was during a heatwave and it was 30 degrees outside so was to be expected. Overall very good weekend

Good location in Chester

Our bed was broken which we didn’t realise before it was too late at night to speak to anyone about this, room was so hot and as bed was broken we did not manage to sleep at all. When i spoke to someone about this in the morning they did apologise and offer us breakfast but we had already eaten. Did not feel worth £100 a night.

Noisy fans from the bar or kitchen ran throughout the night and disturbed my sleep. Very loud people leaving pubs and clubs until the early hours, but to be expected in a city centre location. Ill bring ear buds next time!

The hotel surpassed my expectations! The staff was welcoming and accommodating right from the moment I checked in. The room was clean and comfy and the view of the city from it was splendid. I will certainly return during my next visit!

The location, right in the heart of the city & a short walk to Storyhouse, where we had tickets for a show. The breakfast was fine, plenty of choices & the eggs benedict were especially great.

Our room wasn't serviced during our 2 night stay. Not usually a problem, if we know in advance, but we were told about it. Not making the bed isn't an issue, but getting clean towels & changing the tea cups would have been nice, especially as the cups got heavily stained. We ran out of milk by first morning & I got some more in the afternoon, but in a jug, not the milk sachets. With the room heating being on it was impossible to keep the milk cool & it had gone off by the second morning.

Breakfast was more than adequate. Central location so easy to walk to sites. Pleasant bar area.
