Nice welcome. Comfy bed. Nice shower. Nice bar next door with live singer.
Second floor bit of a climb. No milk for tea and coffee in the room. Only one toilet roll. Two fans both thick with dust so did not use.
Good location, good quality accommodation..very clean, parking provided.
Breakfast not included in price and would like to see a more traditional breakfast option.. Not a 'didn't like' issue, more of an observation to meet more needs..
Great location and a lovely room very Frome! The bistro downstairs did great food very much in the French style, we ate there twice, very relaxed atmosphere.
Bit noisy on the Saturday night but that stopped at 11pm after pubs closed.. Very quiet rest of the time.
Great location and good facility for parking
Very basic and tired but that’s reflected in the price. However light bulb missing from the bedside table lamp and no milk to go with the tea and coffee in the room.
It was central. The food at the bistro was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast there.
Simple, clean and comfortable with easy access.
Gemütliche, liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer. Im Bistro gibt es sehr leckeres Essen.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße raus. Morgens wurde es wegen des Durchgangsverkehrs recht laut.
The room was nice and clean. Beds comfortable. Room spacious for a family room.
The staff were unhelpful and not pleasant. My room was not cleaned at all or towels swapped, despite asking twice and despite their stated policy they do clean rooms. I asked and was rudely told they didn’t have a key and had left me a toilet roll outside my room door (they had, but hardly service is it?). Eventually I was given new towels but had to swap them myself, empty the bin etc myself. Again absolutely no service, no apology, no smiles or pleasantness. A kettle is provided but no drinking water on tap and only four tea bags (for a family room!) and tiny bottle of milk. The exit was often blocked by customers who objected to moving. Parking is really difficult there too. Generally difficult and defensively unpleasant staff throughout. I wouldn’t go back and didn’t eat there either.
Very comfortable beds, liked the layout of the suite ideal for a family of four. Bistro restaurant was excellent with lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Food was delicious. Great situation in the lovely town of Frome.
There was nothing to dislike.
Great location with excellent food and friendly efficient staff. The room was quiet and small but comfortable. Parking is near by.
Up 2 flights of steep stairs to our room. There was no housekeeping for our 3 nights. The pillows need replacing. There is no closet and minimal clothing storage.
Great location on route 24 cycle trail, and in the artisan quarter of Frome. The Bistro was welcoming with good food and a great change from pub grub. Comfortable room, furnished tastefully.
My room was above the bar which was fine, but might not have been if a band had been playing that evening. Worth checking if love music is happening, and to what hour of the evening. Breakfast options were satisfactory but not as good as the evening menu fo the Bistro.
The room was beautifully furnished, the beds were super comfortable and the facilities were ex excellent. The staff were very considerate as we arrived much later than planned due to road closures and they stayed there for us to check in. We had breakfast one day and supper another day and the food was amazing! Portions were excellent.
We had a room at the front of the property and although we were kindly given earplugs it was very noisy at night as it faces a main road and a pub and a takeaway. I would recommend asking for a room at the back of the building.
Great location at the top of Catherine Hill. Lovely room, nicely decorated and perfect for a family of 4. Love the Bramley toiletries that were provided. We stayed here to travel to Longleat the next morning, it was a short drive so ideal.
It was in the middle of another heat wave so being at the top of the building, it was very hot. We were warned about this when we arrived. Two large fans were provided and cold water.
Great location, very easy to walk into the older part of town for restaurants etc. The bar and restaurant below obviously VERY handy! Staff in Bistro Lotte very friendly and kept a smile even on probably one of the hottest summer nights.
Unfortunately there was a bit of late night music on one night but I guess you can’t have the benefit of a good bar on the doorstep without a little bit of give and take. I have dropped marks slightly on Value for Money as I feel maybe at least a coffee and croissant could be included in the room price and if you wanted to go further then that could be added to. This is because the Bistro is obviously part of the whole establishment.
It was our second visit back to bistro Lotte and just like the first time- everything was gateway- from the room to the wonderful staff.

Perfect location for exploring Frome and the beautiful Somerset countryside. The room was lovely (although it wasn't the one pictured in the listing - just something to be aware of). The super king bed was especially comfortable and we had a delicious meal at the bistro and cocktails in the bar downstairs during our stay.
The staff on the whole were great but it wasn't entirely clear who to go to with questions - the bistro staff or the bar staff - and a couple of staff members were a little brusque. A few extra tea bags would have been nice! The Wi-Fi details weren't clear on the information provided and the Wi-Fi generally can't be relied on - I wasn't able to connect at all. Parking is also limited but that's a small price to pay for the excellent location.
Friendly welcome
All was great
Very comfortable bed and great bathroom. Very clean. Conveniently located and free parking just over the way.

Comfy bed, good shower, free parking space nearby. Nice big bottle of chilled water given on arrival.
Booked twin but bed made up as double. Arrived 6ish, when restaurant was busy. A diner had to move to let us through adjoining door to go to rooms, my daughter and I both ended up apologising! (Could have been shown nearby alternative door). Restaurant looks nice, but limited breakfast choice so we went into Frome for more choice. Posh tea bag/ coffee choice in room, but only 2 'normal' tea bags, and some warm milk which did not last until morning. It's been a hot summer, maybe consider mini fridges in rooms.
No breakfast had to pay extra
Shower room very small no where to put any thing Let the room down. Room overlook the pub and traffic noise was awful
The room was very clean, well- appointed and the beds were all super comfortable. It was easy to find and check in was straightforward. You can walk to the centre of town in no time. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Bistro Lotte.
As it was summer we needed to have the windows open which meant noise from traffic and customers standing outside the bar below.
Lovely welcome from a very nice lady. Room very comfortable, a bit warm but there was a fan which worked well. Bed was amazing so comfy lovely pillows. Great shower. The Bistro was full in the evening, we booked ahead which I’d recommend, the food was amazing and again great staff.
It was all very nice. The bathroom needed a bit of TLC especially the sink, but not enough to stop us staying again.
Loved the French vibe, great live music on a Sunday night!
Not much atmosphere in the town, quiet for a bank holiday weekend!
Very helpful staff
Despite my email request I have been unable to obtain a tax invoice for my stay to present to my employer !
Great location to explore Frome and surrounding areas
Needed to stay in Frome so location accurate. Restaurant experience was lovely and really enjoyed the French style cuisine.
Asked for twin beds in rooms and not able to provide. Also wanted ground floor room for elderly mother but rooms provided were located on first floor and our mother struggled to get up the stairs. Sister and mother staying in Room 1 were not able to unlock the door / couldn't get out in morning and as we had an early start, this was problematic. Lucky able to push key through to outside and Room 2 people could let us out. Also had a cold shower so not a good experience to start the day.
Safe free parking was a bonus. The location, staff and food was all excellent. Clean and beautifully decorated with everything we needed
Top floor was a workout the first day bringing our cases up
Beautiful place to stay with such a warm atmosphere and very friendly staff.
The room was furnished with lovely "original" furniture and had a calm, uncluttered feel. It was easily big enough for the two of us and, being on the top floor, it had an open aspect. The shower room was lovely.
Nothing.
Zentrale schöne Lage. Park nicht weit. Restaurant, Cafe, Bistro… falls man ein Zimmer zur Strasse liegend hat, ab 23 Uhr ist es ruhig. 😎
Location was ideal for our weekend rallying at Longleat. Bed was comfy😊
The view at the back of the property
Lovely coffee/tea and breakfast we didnt eat much as it was such exceptionaly hot weather but the toast/croissant option was great and lovely
The hot room, but this wasnt anyones fault Air Con is an expensive option when it would only be used in british heatwaves but unfortunately these are becoming more frequent.
Nice location with access to the restaurant, bar downstairs was nice and upmarket
Tea and coffee facilities were poor, kettle was scolding hot and didn’t work properly (kept boiling until unplugged), hair dryer also overheated and tripped out while using.
Lovely, comfy, elegant
Family room lacked adequate hanging / wardrobe space for 3 adults, it was difficult connecting to wifi (extra extender needed on 2nd floor?), and window sash bars needed cleaning; stairwell light was not working on stairs from ground floor
Not much
Advertisement versus reality polar opposites. Dark and ugly, access to the room was via a narrow winding staircase. No luggage space for that! On street parking in a one way road.
I stayed for 1 night, but paid for 3. I asked the owner if the 3rd night in the least could be waived as I only stayed on the first night of the booking. She agreed. Then when booking.com reached out for the waiver, she did not reply and I ended up paying for the full 3 nights.
Very convenient location, good interesting shops and coffee shops nearby. Excellent restaurant and cute wine bar two doors away also owned by Lotte.
A beautiful place to stay, the staff were outstanding-polite , helpful and so lovely with our 2 young children. The room was spacious and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and the food was amazing. Cooked to perfection. We’ve already booked our next stay.
Everything was amazing- there’s nothing further I can say☺️
Beautiful location, staff were very friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable.
We had dinner. The choice of food was brilliant. The cooking perfect and the ambiance lovely.
Nothing not to like, I'll be returning.
Restaurant ambiance French Style.. Rooms small, bed big and comfortable Owner and ALL staff smiling, friendly and efficient. Meals well presented and a good menu
Top floor, narrow stairs on 2 spirals
First impressions are so important. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt welcomed. Our need for an early meal because we were going to a theatre was no problem. The room was comfortable, clean and had a lovely en-suite. There was a good supply of teas for a refreshing cuppa. The staff were friendly, efficient and kind.
Everything was great.
The meals were very different from the norm delivered with panache. Quiet room large bedroom and bathroom.
Very expensive for a3 night stay without breakfast for 1 person. Steep staircase to bedrooms. Location is right at the top of town after climbing 3 very steep cobbled hills. Confined to bedroom unless eating in the Bistro.
Breakfast was good also a good choice
We feel the bathroom room could be less see through.
Location homely feel, staff lovely
Room was good , but decor needed upgrading, few cracks in wall and sink in bathroom was cracked,
Lovely big bed ,excellent shower, spotlessly clean and nice soft towels.
Stairs were very steep , nowhere to put used teabags , I understand these are just little niggles.
Lovely comfy bed! Central location in a lovely area of Frome Friendly and helpful staff
NA
Definitely dine at the bistro! Fabulous food - both for dinner and breakfast. Great location just a few minutes walk from town. Staff were attentive and efficient.
The room smelt a little of damp when we arrived but it’s an old building!
We had the most wonderful stay here and loved everything about it: check-in was friendly and straightforward, the room was beautiful and quiet, the bed was ridiculously comfy. We ate at the bistro which was fantastic and also enjoyed some cocktails at the bar (friendly knowledgeable staff who created a delicious drink for me). The location is perfect for exploring Frome and the free parking is a great bonus. Highly recommend.

Location and parking
Windows did not open fully, no view
Perfect location. Lovely accommodation
Parking not great as no guarantee of space in allocated area. However we were lucky to find free parking on road
Comfortable room, very good shower, nice range of toiletries.. We really liked the bistro restaurant food. Very helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our meals and had a happy staff.
It would have been nice to have decaf coffee in the room.
Very comfy beds great location quite at night .good food very nice shower
Need bigger glasses in room and bathroom needed a little bit of tlc Breafast could be included in price
Great location as we were visiting longleat for the day. Staff were very accommodating and polite.
Had a few issues with the cleanliness of the room…. A lot of dust, and mould on the windows. Was next to a very busy road, so was loud through out the night. Would benefit with triple glazing windows. Also the heating system was on a timer so was cold during the night. Room would benefit with a fridge and microwave.
Great location with nice clean room
The food at the associated restaurant was good. Service was fair. Seating was poor - seated in the back corner with several interruption from kitchen staff.
Upon arrival, there was confusion as to what building and room we were to be assigned. Struggled up stairs with heavy bags only to be told, "Sorry, my mistake, this is not your room." Hiked to a different building, climbing 3 flights of narrow stairs to a small room. My impressions were: bed, though comfortable, was small; view from ur room was the lovely side of another building; sparce toiletries in the bathroom; challenging to negotiate access to the closet with a small bedstand blocking the door; suggest replacing radio/clock; recommend placing a collapsible luggage stand in the rooms, would be wonderful aid for guests accessing their items in a suitcase. Should advise potential guest that many of the rooms are only accessible on the 2nd and 3rd floors requiring a "healthy climb" up several flights of narrow stairs. Parking was limited to a location a block away from accommodations. This establishment was recommended by my daughter who residesin England; I need to review her impressions of this place with her more closely.
The location was good and the staff lovely.
It was clean, but quite tired. There were guest who arrived very late after midnight who were extremely loud and had dogs with them. Not only dod the guests chatter very loudly but one of the dogs howled and the other barked. This is not the fault of the accomadation but I'm not sure that I would book accomadation again that was pet friendly.
Lovely decor, great location, bright rooms, very clean
Loud high pitched pipe noise all night so we didn't sleep. Very bright light at night - needs blackout curtains. Rooms small.
Charming helpful staff, lovely breakfast and great evening meal. The bedroom was pleasantly fresh and simple, a small bathroom with a great shower.
Could have done with a bit more spacefor toiletries, cosmetics etc but appreciate it is only a small bathroom so difficult to fit it in. Similarly if we had been staying longer we might have liked more storage for clothing.
Lovely location. Close to all amenities and shops. Staff very welcoming.
Room quite small and bed too soft for us but that is always a personal choice.
The tasteful decor and the proximity to the bistro and cocktail bar
The room looked a bit tired in places - chipped paintwork and dirty windows
The food for our evening meal was excellent! My two teenagers had steak, I had moules marinières and my husband had pork. Desserts were also fab! We decided to have breakfast the next day and again it was fabulous and I love the way the breakfast was also presented. I loved the food at this place plus our bedroom was just upstairs so after our lovely evening meal we ambled back up to our room. Loved the chic French vibes. Our room was clean, it had comfy beds, shower products and a kettle.
We had a family room which was fine for one night stay but one bathroom is tricky with two teenagers. I didn’t like having to walk up two flights of stairs with my luggage but that’s it really. We were quite near the road, so I could hear the traffic in the early hours. Might be worth investing in double glazing at some point but the place was lovely.
Central location in Frome Comfy beds with squishy pillows 30 mins easy drive to Bath
No WiFi Loud road noise Tired decor, needs a refresh/paint Dirty windows No mini fridge
Close to the centre, lots of amenities nearby, also had parking available for free. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The room itself was so nice and spacious, well decorated. I actually have OCD and this was the first time that I felt fully comfortable in a hotel/bnb. The bed and bathroom were so clean, the en-suite is also so beautiful and looks recently renovated. Really enjoyed my time here.
The large bed we had (?king) had a little dip in the middle. Not major, the bed was still very comfy.
For us the location in relationship to where we wanted to be was excellent. Staff very friendly, room very comfortable. En suite excellent. We had a drink in the bar and dined in the Bistro next door which was excellent. Nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant.
Not knowing Frome we found locating the premises by car confusing. We were taken to our room accommodation two doors down the road. Accessing the room required a steep flight of stairs which are not ideal for an older couple.
Second visit to the Bistro Lotte. Breakfast was great. Location perfect. Bed comfy. Staff attentive and charming.
A last moment unfortunate and unavoidable issue with the water heating didn't even spoil our enjoyment of this lovely gem of a boutique hotel. Will hope to visit again soon.
Great location very close to the town. The room was clean, very comfortable bed with a very nice on suite.
The TV reception was poor and some drawer space would have been helpful there would definitely have been room
Reason for negative comment on wifi was because I could not get either my laptop or my mobile to connect.
Bathroom room was modern with a good shower. Room was large. People were welcoming on arrival at the bistro
Couldn’t see out of the windows because of the condensation on them. No housekeeping despite us being there 3 nights. Kettle was full of limescale and tea was kept in a box with coffee so tasted awful. Staff were nice but once we had checked in at the bistro we never saw them.
Very clean. Bed very comfortable.
The room was far too hot and a fan would have helped more than you know.
L’hotel è davvero curato. Lo staff è super disponibile. Al bistrot si mangia molto bene quindi colazione super consigliata. Frome è una cittadina bella e molto servita e tranquilla. Il parcheggio gratuito è molto vicino.
Everything
Nothing
Location was ok. Rooms were sufficient . Bathroom clean but rotting wood at corners.
Breakfast was pathetic - cold boiled egg and one slice of cold unimpressive most likely supermarket ham. Ironing board broken. Iron held together by masking tape. Owner refused us coffee service and made it obvious she did not want us there and only wanted our money. Extremely bad bad hospitality service. Go jump in a lake Lottie - stop pretending you are French. Awful awful woman. Only ever been treated like this by racists.
Breakfast was not included. The location was good, central
No smiles, no warm welcome from the owner. Unhelpful. Bordering on rude. The serving staff was lovely, and very friendly/helpful
Excellent location Lovely room with nice decor and comfy bed Bistro downstairs was very nice
The smell in the room was not nice. The room overlooked a roof with an extractor fan. This meant the smell of food comes in to the room even with the window closed. I would happily stay again but ask for a different room
Great position comfortable and well appointed
Lovely warm comfy bed and room
Mould and damp with a cracked ceiling in the bathroom also room was separate to the rest of the hotel
Clean and comfy, great location for shops and restaurants/bars but not noisy.
Bistro (on ground floor, used for breakfast) was a bit under-heated. Two quite steep flights of stairs to the room - might not suit more elderly guests or those with a lot of luggage.
Bistro Lotte is in the perfect place, with everything you need in walking distance. We stayed when visiting the theatre which was a 5 minute walk. There’s a lovely pub just across the road, and you can just walk down Catherine Street, which is so quant, to the town. Parking is a 2 minute walk and there’s a corner shop virtually next door. We had the family room which was gorgeous.
The signal for the TV was hit and miss, then it lost connection completely, but I managed to fix it in the settings. That’s something that just happens though.
Everything was very nice, have stayed at Lotte several times over the years, very comfortable and clean.
No where to hang over coats apart from wardrobe.no bin by tea making facilities.
Location was really good, beds were very comfortable
The bathroom needed updating as the damp was evident
Poor choice
Room and restaurant were cold
Absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous room in a lovely spot in Frome, and the bistro downstairs was outstanding. Greeted by Lotte as we arrived, and all staff we met were lovely. Real attention to detail with choice of teas and coffees in the room.
Nothing, it was perfect!
Very comfortable bed. Excellent sized room and en-suite. Very warm and welcoming.
Couldn't make the wi-fi work (tried it all ways). Breakfast was a little disappointing. Best not plan on doing any building work after breakfast here!
Very classy and homely
Breakfast is very late at 9am
