Friendliness of staff
Room was only assessible by stairs. Overlooked a very busy entrance at ground level
Positives: clean, good atmosphere, quiet well appointed rooms. Negatives: long walk to room, understaffed, rude staff, not a great value Poor experience with staff ruined our stay. For example, we had to wait for over a half hour to get our valeted car. When it finally came, the valet stood between me and my car door for a tip, when I only gave him a couple dollars he gave me a snarky comment. The front desk only had one person who spent about 15 minutes on the phone before she helped us. I hate to complain but I honestly can’t recommend the place.
Great location walkable to restaurants and shops. Nice decor. Lobby and bar area inviting.
The rooms were very nice and clean but found the one we had a little small. We had a hard time finding space to open our suitcases.
This place is so nice!
My family and I loved our stay here! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I wish I caught everyone's names, but every member of the Valet crew was awesome, even helping us locate our room! The front desk answered any questions I had and made switching my incidentals card a breeze. The rooms were unique between a 1K and 2Q, in that the 2Q had ceilings that had to be 12-18ft tall, granted it was also on the top (4th) floor, while the 1K was on the 3rd in a separate building. The beds were very comfortable with many pillows and the shower was fantastic! As someone that is 6'4", having enough space I can lay down in the shower is crazy! The location of the Hotel was close enough to downtown, but far enough from most traffic congestion. We hardly heard any commotion outside of our room.
Location good. Lovely courtyard area outside.
Poor check in and check out experience. Layout strange. Carpet and decor weird. Very expensive for what it was.
The location. The room was clean.
The price. The extra fee for parking. No microwave. Bed and pillow were uncomfortable.
Valet staff were great but front desk were not, location is good
Rooms were small and bathrooms lacked charm
Did not have breakfast at the location because the hotel is located in a great part of the city and there were numerous restaurants available, some recommended by very polite, friendly staff.
Me and my family had a great time at the bar. The drinks and live music were on point. Huge shout out to AJ from cast, he was very welcoming and made everything smooth. Definitely will be back
Lovely hotel, staff amazing, treating us like family especially AJ.
I’m extremely neurotic about cleanliness, especially at hotels. Every nook and cranny of our long weekend getaway was clean. In addition the hotel property is stunning. We had a wonderful time. The lobby bar had delicious cocktails and fun weekly specials. All around great stay. Valet was more $ compared to garage parking near by BUT it was cold and super worth it to have the car right out front when needed.
We loved this hotel. Gorgeous room. Delicious bed. Great restaurant. Perfect neighborhood.
Vegan options at the restaurant and the piano in the lounge in which a local musician spontaneously started playing and drew a crowd - so fun:)
The Foundry is a wonderful example of repurposing old spaces. The property retained a vintage vibe while creating a modern and classic feel to it. The restaurant on site was a nice option when we didn’t want to go out, and the lobby is a very comfortable spot for an evening nightcap. Was concerned the valet-only parking on-site would be a hassle but it was incredibly convenient. The location of the hotel was perfect for walking to the many downtown shops and galleries, with numerous notable restaurants a 5-10 minute walk away. And sights like the Biltmore were a short, easy drive. Highly recommend a stay here.
loved the historical blending with modern hotel facilities and convenience to downtown restaurants and shopping.
great hotel.. I generally do not prefer valet parking, but only option available.
Generally lazy staff and a lot of hidden costs. Breakfast was awful. Beds were comfortable and spacious, decor was really interesting.
Wilson the bartender was great and so were the waitstaff at the Refinery restaurant the next morning!
Beautiful hotel!! However!!!! My room assignment was horrible. Literally walked inside the room and looked out the enormous window only to see that it overlooked the valet parking lot. Literally if the window was not there, I would walk out 15 feet to the valet parking. The noise lever was unbearable. In addition to the noise, car alarm, car lock alarms, etc., the guests directly above my room were extremely loud and I think had a lot of kids. I could hear very, very loud footsteps and children yelling until 12:30 PM in addition to the cars pulling in and out of valet. Then, was awakened after a completely restless night at 5:30 AM to the loud footsteps, doors slamming, and various other loud noises. It was a completely unrestful night. The entire beauty of the hotel and my stay was ruined. I got up, did not shower and left before 10 AM as I was exhausted and over it. Horrible experience. Plus, the valet parking is $35 with no option to park yourself close by. Just an overall terrible experience. The hotel is beautiful and I am extremely disappointed.
We stayed Memorial Day weekend and could not have gotten luckier. The hotel was beautiful, with the nicest staff. Walking distance from everything you need downtown. Piano player at night to help us wind down from the day. Very comfortable room and bed.
The staff seemed ill trained for customer service. The rooms were blander than expected. We could not get the audio to work in the fitness center. A serviceable hotel but nothing to write home about.
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The property is in tip-top shape. The architect and interior designer did a wonderful job. Decorations are warm throughout the hotel and the bar area is stunning - great place to relax and chat. Our room was very well appointed and had all that you would expect at this price point. I was very pleased with the front desk; they were very helpful and courteous as was the valet. The gym was a good size and had all the equipment needed for a workout. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and our omelets were great, as was the service. The only thing that I didn't care for is the $35/night parking, which seemed pricey to me.
I loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms spacious and airy. The hotel is a converted factory and the design and decor are in keeping with that motif- with brick walls and black iron in the decor. A great deal of thought and attention went into the design both aesthetically and functionally. As a fun bonus there is a tarot card reader available on Friday afternoons compliments of the hotel.
We loved the decor and how aspects of the old foundry were integrated into the hotel. There are a few quirks because of how the five buildings were integrated into one, such as lots of stairs, but the one thing that we found strange—although it had no impact on a very good experience—was that our room had a fridge but no microwave. Every staff member with whom we interacted was pleasant and helpful, and special kudos to the valet parking men and women! The location is ideally close to restaurants, galleries, and museums.
Excellent food & service for breakfast. Beautiful renovated buildings connected with new compatible architecture make this hotel special in this historic part of Asheville.
We took our dog for a walkable trip in downtown. The property is very appealing and clean. The only option for parking is valet, which was easy and prompt. The food service staff and housekeeping staff were both friendly and professional. The room was quiet, our request about room location was honored, and we were provided everything we asked for from the staff. This is undoubtedly the best hotel in downtown Asheville.
A creative renovation of a former foundry has made for a great hotel. Our room was laid out nicely, it was quiet and within walking distance of tourist attractions. Interestingly, there are no ice machines on the hotel floors. You can get ice from the restaurant. The Foundry also has an outstanding bar. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Asheville.
We stopped in to eat lunch at The Refinery after seeing a recent article about brunch offerings at the new restaurant at this hotel. The restaurant was closed but Amanda at the bar showed us their bar menu and said she'd be happy to take care of us. She was so sweet and insistent we decided to take her up on it, and she made us amazing mimosas which we enjoyed immensely before our absolutely delicious burgers arrived - cooked to order with white cheddar, caramelized onions & bacon, along with amazing French fries. What could have been a failed experiment turned into a wonderful adventure thanks to Amanda - service with a smile, she went out on a limb and absolutely made our day. Oh - this was our first visit to this hotel property - we did not stay, but the lobby was beautiful. And if the rest of the staff is anywhere near as helpful and upbeat as amanda was, i cannot imagine how you could go wrong! Great location, walkable to everything downtown.
The whole staff were great. Valet person Lupe was very helpful. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. We can not wait to come back.
Lupe provided excellent prompt service! Our car was parked and stored safely. It was brought quickly when requested. Lupe was very courteous.
Lupe was great. The entire stay was a pleasure. Looking forward to coming back again. The hotel was also above our expectations
Lupe and Hunter were fantastic! Got us on our way immediately. Great location for Asheville, and the hotel is very comfortable with everything we need! Highly recommend!
management and rooms not up to par for a nicer hotel. wont bore you with details but be ready to carry your own luggage up and down stairs. Hopefully you wont have a room like we refused overlooking 3 large garbage dumpsters and a fire department where you stare at all the oversized garage doors. when we saw this was our room we asked the manager for another room. I told him im not staying in this room. he told me mumbled under his breathe ill stay in the f-cking room he gives me and the hotel was overbooked. they found me another crappy room and we took it. this room was much smaller and we should have been charged less... honestly - many hotels in the area around this one... after complaining to the hotel and Hilton we were given a case number and we never received any follow up. they could care less if you are happy or not.
Lupe was very helpful when checking out and retrieving our vehicle. The rest of the staff was very attentive while we were waiting.
Lupa and hunter went above and beyond making sure everyone was taken care of. They were fast and careful with each vehicle.
Lupe and the valet team were very courteous and professional. The hotel is beautiful and the bar/restaurant onsite was very convenient. Thanks for the visit, we’ll be back!
Beautiful property right in the heart of downtown. Very family friendly. Lupe and the staff were fantastic. Would absolutely return.
Friendly and helpful team with Lupe and Hunter! Very helpful and quick to support - definitely recommend, you will not be disappointed.
Lupe was excellent took really good care of us. Was very helpful with knowledge of the area and helping us find fun things to do
Quick but great stay — very cool setting! Bartender was an artist — we enjoyed watching a mixology master at work! Lupe with the valet service was fantastic!
Gabriel was awesome, attentive and speedy. Helped with our dogs water bottle too. Was super super polite and terrific, 5 stars.
Gabe was great! Helped me unload all my bags and get us on our way. Great service. Will be back. Everything was excellent.
Gabriel was very help with getting items for Our car, friendly and knowledgeable about restaurant and gallery suggestions
Gabriel was there for us and made our check out super easy thank you love the place and the staff we will be back and we look forward to getting the same room next time
Gabriel was great, super kind and helpful. Quick service with the car. Asheville downtown parking is not easy so I highly recommend just valeting at the hotel.
Great helpful service Gabriel was very informative and accommodating. One of the best valet experiences we have had. Will definitely visit this hotel again!
Was here on Monday and Gabe was amazing! Very fast and efficient valet service! Extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the history of the town! Gave amazing recommendations for local restaurants and bars!
Stayed over the weekend, happy with the amenities and cleanliness. Gabriel provided exceptional valet service and really made my wife and I feel at home with his humor and local history insight.
Hotel is lovely and staff was great! The industrial vibe was cool, hotel bar and restaurant were hip. We will be back. Special thanks to our valet Lupe who was super!
We love this hotel, first time in Asheville. The valet service with Lupe and Hunter was fantastic and even the people before him. They never make you feel like you’re imposing. And the location of the hotel you couldn’t be beat. It’s calm, quiet, and the history of the hotel is fantastic.
Great location, great staff. Everyone from valet (Lupe and one other who helped with a low tire pressure isssue) were great. Breakfasts are delicious!
Sehr gute Lage und schön eingerichtet
Laute Klimaanlage vor und im Zimmer
Great boutique hotel! Love the exposed brick walls surrounding the property. Service is excellent. Valet parking is a nice touch by offered by Lupe and his colleagues. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be returning soon!
Amazing service and Valet. Would highly recommend to anyone. Good value and expert advice on the city. Coming from London we expect good service and this was exceptional
The hotel is very well located close to everything and nice. The room was spacious with floor to ceiling windows. Bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice. The staff were nice but didn’t know how to work at a hotel really. There was no hospitality training. From the front desk, to the housekeeper, no idea how to make a guest feel at home. We asked for late checkout when we checked in, which was included in our rate and we were told “no problem” and we were set. The information was not put in the system I guess because we were called at noon asking why our things were still in our room. Breakfast at The Refinery took forevers. It took over 45 minutes to get our food; when it finally came, they didn’t bring any utensils and not everything was correct. I asked for butter and it never came… The valet was really good. Lupe and Gabriel were both great. Overall, it was OK, but they should work on training their staff better.
This hotel was booked as part of a last minute travel change. We chose it due to location and the look of the hotel. We absolutely loved the whole vibe, the staff and the valet. The hotel decor is beautiful and cozy. We were able to walk everywhere. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Asheville in the future.
Gabriel was so helpful in getting the car to us quickly and repacking the trunk. He was very friendly and provided great service.
Gabriel was incredibly helpful! Really made our day so much easier. We had a phenomenal stay at this gorgeous hotel. Everything was top notch and we can’t wait to stay here again! Beautiful rooms, great bar and really great staff!
Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, nice cold a/c
Gabriel and Lupe did an amazing job with getting our car back and forth with valet parking. Very polite and courteous with the job. We highly recommend coming to Foundry to stay and visit Asheville
We enjoyed the history and ambience. Gabriel at the valet was very knowledgeable and helpful. He should be commended for his attention to guests.
This is a beautifully renovated hotel of an historic building. The devil is in the details. Hidden fees everywhere, some of them quite substantial. And then there were a little annoyances, like no spoon for the coffee. Flickering light in the bathroom. Room freezing cold, but you can’t turn off the fan. Check in time isn’t until 4 o’clock and believe me you’re sitting in the lobby until then.
The staff were so helpful and kind. Lupe the valet was great! The breakfast was delicious. loved being right downtown in walking distance to all the shops.
Good experience at the foundry hotel. The staff was incredible and the valet workers did a great job of staying on top of getting my vehicle on time.
Great experience! Beautiful property nearby local attractions. We would stay here again when visiting Asheville. Lupe and Abe were good valet.
Moses and Lupe with the valet service were great bookends to the visit. They were great with our arrival and departure. Really welcoming and helpful!
Everyone at The Foundry was courteous, professional, and friendly. A great place to stay! Our valet, Lupe, was especially kind. We will definitely stay there again next time we’re in Asheville!
Valet was great, name was Lupe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was wonderful, and the ambience of the hotel and grounds was lovely. Walkable to everything desirable in downtown Asheville. Highly recommend, and will definitely be returning the next time we stay in Asheville.
The room and hotel was beautiful. Really enjoyed the bar.
All was good
Great room! Beautiful hotel. Walking distance to downtown. Abe the car attendant super nice. Coffee shop next door fantastic!
The hotel was clean, comfortable, spacious and charming. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We valeted our car and Abe and Lupe took great care of us. We will definitely be back!
Stayed one night and most definitely could have stayed longer! The Foundry was stunning and had tons of character! We will be back to explore more of this super cool, historical city
Abe was courteous and very helpful. The room was clean and very nice. Located in a great spot to walk to restaurants and shops. I would absolutely visit the Foundry again.
Stayed at The Foundry for a couple nights and really liked the vibe. James at the front desk was helpful and quick with check-in. Hunter and Lupe at valet made things super easy every time we came and went. Room was clean, location was solid, and the restaurant downstairs was better than expected. Would come back
Wonderful experience through and through. The check in was quick and easy, the valets were super helpful, and room was great. Would love to stay again!
Beautiful charming luxurious hotel nestled just off downtown Asheville. Rooms were comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated. Lovely staff from front desk/bartenders to bellman. Kind friendly & professional staff. Very helpful in guiding us with directions as well as recommendations for great dining spots nearby. Thank you Chad & Willis and can’t forget Lupe Will definitely stay here again when in town. Easy walk to most downtown shops & breweries
The rooms are everything you need to rest and have a good time. Gregory, valet assistant was so helpful and all his recommendations were accurate love his assistance
He knew so much about the history about the Foundry and the building I was blown away! He took me outside and showed me about the windows and the buildings and the history in detail! Was so kind and went out of his way to show us around. I truly appreciated his love for history. You don’t find people like this these days!
Great bar and bartender but no dinner available some nights of the week. More of a gussied up Super 8 than something special. Despite a hefty $35 per night parking fee, the annoying app they want you to use to get your car requires a tip and places a minimum at $3 every time you want your car. I'm fine with tipping valets and often do even when hotels gouge for parking. But I'm opposed to mandatory tipping, which isn't tipping at all. Just one factor that reflects the overall attitude of this place. Also, I'm diamond on Hilton, which seems to make no difference at all at this place.
The restoration and the decor were amazing
Bar was wonderful. Room was just right and loved the toiletries.
Quinn and Gabriel were super helpful in helping me load out, bring my stuff in and pack my car up when I had a booth there for an event. This made my job much easier and more enjoyable as a 1-woman show :)
Very beautiful building. The bar area and grassy area out front with the chairs were nice. The showers in the morning lacked full hot water. The linen on the bed was worn enough to have holes in them. The plugs in the lamps did not work. Overall, 4/10 stay for the price of the hotel.
Zach was an excellent valet. Beautiful grounds and public areas, very well situated. Quiet. Lots of safety instructions on the back of the door including instructions to use deposit boxes at the front desk DO NOT go down to the front desk with your valuables because there ARE NO deposit boxes waiting for you. After lots of running back & forth from my room to the front desk and front desk calling the manger (who wasn’t helpful), it turns out safes are located under the left bar sink. Despite the less than stellar first visit, planning to revisit upon my next trip to the area.
Everything was surprisingly perfect. Room was excellent and breakfast the next morning was scrumptious. Kudos to The Foundry.
This hotel has historical significance to the area. Many elements both exterior and interior are preserved at the Foundry. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The bartender, staff in the Refinery, and front desk were all engaging, professional, and super friendly. The public spaces within the hotel are well appointed and lovely. The interior 2 queen unit we stayed in was equally as beautiful. The units come with a Nespresso machine, a modern mini fridge, and upscale toiletries in dispensers. My ONLY complaint, and to me its a sizable one, is the mattresses are not comfortable. If you have any kind of back issues or nerve issues (even mild) -this may be a showstopper. I would expect a much higher grade bed maybe even with a plush topper with it being a Curio brand either Hilton. Everything else about this hotel is topnotch. :-D
We recently had a great stay at the Foundry with our kids (elementary age)! Clean rooms and lobby, drinks at the bar were tasty, offers good breakfast. Excellent location, responsive staff. Ced in valet and the other valet staff took good care of the cars and us!
Really great hotel, with the nicest staff. Many thanks to Cedric for making our stay even better. Rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel bar/restaurant were really good! The location was nice, we could walk to downtown but the hotel itself was peaceful and quiet. We’ll be back soon!
Excellent stay! The bar drinks were phenomenal and Cedrick the valet was extremely fast and professional. When you do valet here, the parking lot is about 2 blocks away. I think Ced runs the whole thing. He is very efficient! I will also compliment that the valet is affordable here. Definitely tip these great employees.
We really enjoyed our stay with the dogs. The restoration of the old factory buildings is beautiful. All of the staff was helpful and friendly from check-in to departure, when Ced brought around our car with a smile! The area is walkable with many restaurants and local shops.
Great location. A wonderful historic building. Cedric, the Bellman was an excellent help! We were able to walk nearly everywhere. We recommend Haile if you were going to be doing a lot in downtown Asheville. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We had a great stay.
Had a great stay at the foundry! Food and drinks are amazing. Valet staff Ced & Hunter are full of knowledge and fast! Would recommend to anyone! The rooms were clean and large. The views from the room and on the property are amazing as well. I would come back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Foundary. The hotel is stunning and our room was wonderful. We enjoyed the outdoor area to sit outside and have a drink before dinner. Ced and hunter at the valet were wonderful and got out car with fast and friendly service.
