Location perfect for overnight stay and staff really helpful from the time we arrived
Not too much. We’re not offered a parking permit.
Very noisy, lots of stains on carpet, windows in desperate need of painting, toilet often didn’t cut off
Lovey room.. Stylish hotel. Great breakfast
Nothing
breakfast was great and served by an enthusiastic team.
efficient check in - but no warmth in the greeting. pub area dark and uninviting. leaves in the entrance which were still there the folllowing day. Hairs on the shower wall, so probably not cleaned from previous occupant. Cobwebs inbetween the secondary double glazing - again been there a while! Expensive stay for what it was.
Central to Blenheim Palace
Load road noise. Dark room
Having stayed in a superior room we decided to upgrade on this occasion to a suite for a treat and it was even more wonderful. Bed and furnishings really comfortable, great to have a nespresso machine in the room, massive bath (and bubble bath provided!) and fans to keep us cool in the heatwave. Toiletries in the bathroom smell amazing and breakfast was as incredible as we remembered - such a treat and even better given its included! Staff really friendly and discount on food and drinks in the war a welcome addition. Parking was easy enough on a nearby street and not overly expensive.
Only tiny disappointment was our suite didn’t really have a view - I think we backed onto the kitchens or staff area. Would have preferred to be on the street side as looks nice but certainly didn’t spoil our stay but worth asking for a suite with a nicer outlook if you remember!

Nada
Friendly staff - great location and amazing food
Corridors were dirty
THE ROOM WAS LARGE AND WELL FURNISHED AND HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED,THE KINGS ARMS IS IN THE PERFECT POSITION FOR VISIT TO BLENHEIM PALACE AS ITS EASILY WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE AND THERES LOTS OF PUBS AND RESTUARANTS NEARBY BREAKFAST WAS PERFECT AND COOKED TO ORDER. THE STAFF WERE GREAT
ONLY ONE THING WE STAYED IN THE ROOM CALLED JAMES,THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE BUT THE WOODEN LEGS PROTRUDED PAST THE EDGE OF THE MATTRESS AND BOTH MY WIFE AND MYSELF PAINFULLY KNOCKED OUR FEET AND SHINS ON THEM SEVERAL TIMES WHEN WALKING AROUND THE EDGE OF THE BED.
The location was perfect for a visit to Blenheim Palace. Staff were helpful and relatively friendly. Bed was comfortable
A general lack of cleanliness. Felt like it needs a good scrub and hoover! Cobwebs everywhere
Exerllent, friendly staff,we had the Suite Room, very nice and clean lovely big bed to,only downside to the room it has no windows to look out of,it has windows but there blacked out and only open a small way, overall though no complaints here.
Great place to stay, close to Blenheim palace and very central location
The staff were very friendly and helpful we couldn't fault them , we asked questions and they were very helpful to us , we wanted more Coffee for the room and within five minutes it was with us , so overall the stay was very good.
The only problem is that there is no carpark, so we had to park on the street outside we were very lucky that we got very close, that was the only problem.
Breakfast very good plenty to choose from and location good for Blenheim place
Shower needed a much better clean very mouldy
Clean, good atmosphere, great food.
Nothing
Good location close to Blenheim
Only issue is parking but staff advised precisely what we needed to do
Good location in the centre of Woodstock, walkable distance from Blenheim Palace. Comfortable bed, the bathroom was a little small but the room itself was lovely. The breakfast was lovely.
It’s on a busy road so the room was noisy. The cleanliness of the room was not up to standard.
Things in general were fine. The choice of breakfasts very good, but the stair carpets were filthy and required hoovering- It was quite unnerving going up to our room as the filth on the carpets made me doubt the standard of the room.
Dirty carpets and paint on walls that needed touching up where it had been bashed in both the bedrooms and breakfast room.
Decent breakfast, nicely cooked, room in the roof which was unbelievably hot
Being put in the roof at my age😂😂🥵🥵
Check in was easy, the room was beautiful with a great view. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious! Can’t wait to visit again.
Nothing
Very friendly staff, excellent location
Enjoyed a 2 night stay, the room was very clean and comfortable. plenty of wall sockets including 4 USB points. Bedside lamp, cooling fan. Plenty of space for luggage, a decent size television, tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was exceptionally good. Plenty of choice and perfectly cooked. The staff were very helpful and polite.
Nothing
Good food. Both evening meal and breakfast. Particularly lovely breakfast room. Great location in the centre of the town and easily walkable to Blenheim Palace. We knew that there was no parking on site, which is the same for most accommodation in the town but clear explanation from the hotel about where to park.
All good
Staff very friendly and tried their best to make us welcome.
Hotel generally tired and in need of work doing to make it acceptable. Sockets not screwed in properly, leaking shower to highlight a couple of issues. It was also pretty dirty and unkempt . Our room had no air-conditioning on some of the hottest days of the year. It was unbearable. It may well have been an oversight on our part booking the room but still, it was dangerously hot, with a small fan our only respite. We didn't sleep.
This was a lovely hotel , the staff were friendly the room was clean and very big , the bathroom was a nice size too . They put a fan in the room as it was very warm when we were there . Breakfast was cooked to order so was nice and fresh with lots of options . Nice easy walk to shop and 10 mins walk and you were in the grounds of Blenheim palace lovely place .
Not really anything to dislike ,
Right in the centre of Woodstock, easy to find, quaint little place with friendly staff. We ate in the pub that evening and it was really good. Breakfast was good too.
It’s right on the main road so was very noisy. Our room had a window right onto the road which we had to keep open because the room was so hot. I think the room’s need some a/c in this weather. We’re a bit picky about comfy beds and found the bed really uncomfortable. Small thing but we left a phone charger behind, they found it, said they’d posted it but it never arrived so I guess they didn’t. Sometimes the small details make all the difference.
Incredible value for money. Gorgeous little pub and nice rooms. Fantastic breakfast! Really great value for money.
It was a bit hot in one of our three rooms where the fan was a bit rubbish compared to the others, however it was a very hot day and you do expect that in a pub sometimes.
Room, location
Road traffic during night but got use to it
Our room was lovely and comfortable, we really appreciated the efficient fan in the heat. Supper and breakfast were delicious. The manager was friendly and helpful.
Lovely town and very nice hotel. Friendly staff with a nice beer. The breakfast is also very good.
It’s next a very loud road so not good for light sleepers. Plus the rooms are very hot in the summer months. That’s something to be expected without air conditioning
Location perfect. Breakfast excellent. Staff nice.
Small room (John). Winter quilt on bed in height of very hot summer. Weak Dyson fan. Large clumps of dust next to bedside cabinet. Toilet dirty where seat meats lid. Shower screen rubber filthy. Corner of bench seat in dining room dusty/ dirty. Sunday roast wasn’t very good either.
Very nice pub
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Nice and clean room . Excellent shower and shower gels available. Breakfast was excellent. Large choice on menu . Great location for Blenheim palace. Lots of coffee shops and pubs . Definitely recommend and I would stay again.
Only downside, if I was to be critical, would be parking . You pay a £10 parking permit for 24 hrs . You park outside on the street. I read the reviews beforehand, so it wasn’t a problem for me .
Location, breakfast, comfort
No air conditioning or fridge
Lovely sized room, great location and lovely pub with good food
Lovely period hotel, great location with lots of history
No air conditioning, however the rooms do have fans and water is provided
Room was spacious and it had a fan that helped in the hot weather.
The history of the building
The room we stayed in was called Harold. It was dark & dingy, the bathroom light was so inadequate I had to shave by the light of my phone. The weather was fantastic but the the fans in the room were totally inadequate. The rooms need to be sympathetically updated to the 21st century with walk in showers & made more light & airy for me to stay there in the future.
The authenticity
Too many stairs
The hotel was convenient for visiting Blenheim palace
The room we stayed it was extremely hot (this was not the heatwave week). We had to request a suitable fan at least twice.
Very well located and very comfortable accommodation. The staff were wonderful and dinner and breakfast delicious, accommodated dietary requirements easily.
All exceptional
Room food was all good
Very noisy at 5.30 in morning traffic refuse collection etc
Great pub with good food
I’m n the main Woodstock Rd which is noisy
Lovely rooms, very hot! But due to the weather, really enjoyed it!
Everything great!
Location was perfect, staff were very friendly .Breakfast was nice.
The room was small ,in this hot weather it was unbearable, we were given 2 fans but they weren't any use .We were meant to stay 2 nights but we left early..which meant we lost out because id already paid .
Centre of town. Helpful and friendly staff. Bed comfortable. Breakfast very good. Fan in room.
We were in a room on the main road side so when we had the windows open it was noisy until midnight and woke us up at 5.30 am.There was double glazing but it was too hot at night to shut windows.
Brilliant location Great breakfast 😋
Parking could become a nightmare when busy!!
Beautiful hotel and everything was so clean
Nothing
Morning and evening food was good - decent choice and a few surprises. Is it a pub with rooms or a hotel? Decor quirky, bed comortable, but with dangerous step up and down from washroom
Unsure whether the lack of carpet cleaning was part of the 'groovy pub vibe' or just laziness. To my mind it wasn't generally clean enough - carpets, sticky tables - things easy to fix with a little care
Clean room nicely decorated. Evening meal was good and the evening staff likewise.
Scaffolding, noise, workmen walking passed our bedroom window after we had just got out of the shower, no cooked breakfast despite previously paying for two mornings' worth. Soggy packages disgruntlingly pushed at us. No hot water on our last day. Lacklustre stand-in receptionist. Dreadful. They should have closed. They should have done many things that courtesy suggests they should. No apology.
Clean and well maintained
Lovey breakfast and location
A superb place to stay in the quaint village of Woodstock. Within easy access of Oxford by bus, the King's Arms provided a relaxing, friendly and comfortable experience, aided by a well equipped room, professional and genuine staff, as well as superb food and drink. Regarding the lattermost, we dined at the King's Arms on the day we arrived and were very impressed at the quality, range and service of the food - plus the drinks selection, being a pub, was varied and satisfying. Though the kitchen was being worked on for some of the time we stayed, we were very happy with the alternative breakfast option provided. The bathroom came with nice soap, bodywash/shampoo and the complimentary coffee 'n' biscuits were excellent. A particular mention of Charlie who checked us in and out and was a thoroughly delightful person.
No fault of the place but being by a prominent road meant that with the windows open, it could get quite noisy - though with the dual window/screens down it was perfectly quiet. We did have the windows open a fair bit as the room did get quite warm, though a large fan was already in the room and worked well.
Staff were very helpful. Central to everything in town .
Room, location, characterful bar and breakfast all excellent
nothing
Good clean rooms, amenities and good breakfast
Very Hot room with couldn’t be helped by the extreme heat wave but a better fan or air conditioning would be great! Being in the top floor heat rises
Nice rooms nice bar area
Very comfortable, terrific staff service, superb location.
All good.
The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Very clean too. I didn’t have time for breakfast as I had an early appointment but they provided me with a very nice takeaway breakfast.
Good pub ,great location , good room
We were kept waiting to check in for at least ten minutes , when the manager eventually arrived there was no Greeting or apology for the wait ,just whats your booking no . no other information about our stay imparted .
Great location
Position in Woodstock
Bar and restaurant very quiet
Loved the location, attractive clean room, great breakfast
Unfortunately we struggled to sleep because the room was really hot and if you opened the windows it was too noisy. Otherwise would have been perfect.
The town of Woodstock
The very noisy road right outside and the lack of fresh air. The room was very hot.
Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and perfect location in Woodstock.
The property currently, has scaffolding surrounding the building (we know it cannot be helped) and workmen were outside our bedroom window at 8am, felt slightly uncomfortable. Refuse men, delivery and road traffic very noisy, at 5am.
The wifi is top, fast and always on.
The value for money, money paid is too much for the small rooms they are offering. Breakfast start late, around 8am. Sometimes the rooms are not cleaned 😕 The shower is small
A really well presented inn. The bedroom was absolutely delightful, though the bathroom door needs some attention so it will shut. Fairly quiet in the restaurant. The duty manager tried his best to find a replacement bulb for our room! A very attractive old town to visit.
We wondered what we might have done to upset the waiter at breakfast as he was decidedly offhand with us, which was not pleasant. This was not typical of the staff in general but affected my rating.
Great location within a beautiful village, friendly staff and great pub downstairs. Very nice and royal breakfast.
It’s location, image and value for money
Decoration in the bedroom and bathroom tired and could do with being re-done.
Stayed at the Kings Arms many times, always enjoyable, had lunch in the restaurant food always excellent quality. Then up to the room for a snooze after a big lunch. Stayed in most of the rooms in the past all nicely decorated. An early flight on the morning of departure meant we had to miss the breakfast but I remember it always been very good
Nothing to dislike
Great location, lovely breakfast
Could hear people in the next room
Nice hotel with popular bar are and restaurant. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet lacked fresh fruit, but the freshly cooked hot option was very nice. Our room was second floor and window was so high my wife couldn't see out of it. This only a minor issue for us but having no view maybe a consideration for others. On street parking could be limited during the summer.
Lack of fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet. Window too high to see out of. But very minor issue.
Very friendly staff, lovely room, great breakfast and nice location.
Nothing.
Location really good - lovely Blenheim walk in the morning. Comfy room, delicious dinner and nice breakfast.
Nothing
Comfortable bed
Food not the best and very expensive. Decor is tired and there is a lack of attention to detail when it comes to cleaning.
Great breakfast, comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
breakfast was good but cold
Lovely clean and well equipped room. Excellent breakfast. Great location for Blenheim Palace visit.
Nothing!
Evening meal very good.Room comfortable.Evening staff very good.
The breakfast on the first day was very good.We waited over half an hour and was finally told our order had been given to other residents. When it did arrive it was cold and overcooked. The coffee was cold.We were very disappointed having had a nice meal the night before. The second day breakfast was better but the morning shift staff are much poorer than the evening team.I suggest it's an issue the company needs to address.
Location, convenience and cost effective. Lovely rooms and comfortable beds.

Great room & facilities
Breakfast was disappointing
Staff was very friendly.
Room and bathroom weren't particularly clean.
room is cozy
my room was close to the kitchen staircase so it was a bit noisy at night.
Really cosy feel and great location
Room was very hot but probably our issue as couldn’t turn the radiator off
Great location in a lovely little town. Ideal for our day visiting Blenheim Palace after a good nights rest.
Excellent breakfast, lovely and helpful staff which also accommodated special requests for my toddler, very clean rooms, very comfortable bed (suite Henry)
Authentic period charm, central location in the town and walking distance to the Blenheim Palace entrance.
It was all good
Evening meal and breakfast good. Room comfortable
The toilet came away from the wall, the bathroom flooded. I put towels down, went to reception, rang the bell, ignored, rang again, ignored, walked around , found the manager. I was told this was the busy time, 7am, no maintenance staff available, no other room offered, nothing can be done. So I went back up , packed my stuff and left at 8am. The response from the hotel management came across as poor and dismissive, perhaps not intended.
Everything!!!👍😄❤️
