Lavender Homestay

Zeer rijkelijk ontbijt!

Nice quiet location. Comfortable bed. Good WiFi . No kettle however the host made me coffee when I requested. Also managed my laundry. Hot water okay

Shower Water pressure was not good and no where to put clothes .

Lovely, spacious, airy room. Comfortable bed with mosquito net. Helpful, friendly hosts who helped us with laundry and a ride to the station. Lovely breakfasts with a teapot of tea. Close enough to walk to town, but far enough away to be quiet.

the homestay is located in one of the many backalleys, so it was nice and quiet. the rooms were nice and clean and the porch nice to sit at. we orderet breakfast once and it was very big and a mix of local dishes, bread and fruit as well as coffee/ tea. perfect for people who eat alot in the morning. we used laundry service which was also perfectly done. the family was super nice and helpful with everything.

the only small thing was the very loud construction going on in the house. we booked this place specifically, because we had a lot of activities the week before and we were looking forward to wind down a bit, maybe spend siesta in the shade of the porch... that was not really possible without earplugs. but upon request they did start later everyday, so we could sleep in in the mornings. and i guess they have to do the construction at some point....

The location of the stay is very good. The room was beautiful and had all the facilities. Additionally the host was so good to me. They were very helpful.

All good

Gewoon goed, relaxed, vriendelijke man die je overal mee helpt

Ontbijt was niet top, koud geserveerd

The owner and his family are so nice! They helped us a lot and are really friendly. The rooms are extremely spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable and well equipped The breakfast was nice and perfectly on time we requested :) It is very calm in a side street, 10 mins walking to Ella main road

There is no air con or TV, which is totally fine for us but with 4 people in the room it could get a little warm at night ;) No shampoo or shower gel

Really enjoyed our stay here. Nice and clean room and bathroom with a comfortable bed and mosquito net. Lovely and friendly host who was always available if we needed something. Only a 10min walk from the main centre and bars and restaurants are only 2 minutes away. Good starting point for little adams peak and nine arches bridge, but in a quiet area.

The bathroom had a window which was constantly open, allowing many animals and insects to come into the room. A net in front of it would have been nice, but still it did not bother us, as we covered it at night with a towel and had a mosquito net around the bed:)

Accogliente, pulita

Letti comodissimi, camera spaziosa, gestori gentilissimi e disponibili

Czysto, pomocni właściciele.

Brak przejściówki do urządzeń, sporo jaszczurek.

Zeer aardige mensen. Erg behulpzaam. Prima ontbijt.

We booked this property very last minute due to a bad experience with another property and it was honestly a blessing in disguise. This place was everything we were looking for, cute and cosy, very central, lovely host! I would 100% recommend.

Bed was comfortable, proper sheets. Bathroom was very clean. Wifi worked well. Location is not at the center but it’s still walkable and good thing there is no noise at all. Ella is busy with a lot of music and loud restaurants so it’s very nice how peaceful it was at the room. They gave us tea when we checked in, that was a nice detail :) Also the owners were super friendly and willing to help all the time.

Apparently to have hot water you have to turn the handle to the right side, when that’s supposed to be the cold water side. We didn’t know so we showered with cold water. The owner said it happened before, maybe good to clarify at the checkin :) Everything else was awesome!

Good located close to the little Adam’s Peak and the nine brings and the bed was quite comfortable

The bathroom is very very humid, no hairdryer, only one soap, no extra towels for hands , mosquito net very dirty no mosquito net in the bathroom , and it was impossibile to find the owner after the check in so we couldn’t have any breakfast there

The room was very specious, fridge was in the second room as well, good size bathroom. The location is walking distance to the Main Street and Ella railway station but not too close, so you can easily relax without any noise or much of people. The owners are very sweet, welcoming you with huge pot of Tea/coffee and muffins - it was really needed for me after 4h drive.

Perfect for a stay in Ella. Comfortable beds, clean and modern room/bathroom. Hot shower! Great value for money. Location is perfect, just a short walk to the centre of Ella and close to Nine Arches. Also, the owners were very kind and made some tea when we arrived. Also they arranged a taxi for us. I would definitely recommend!

I can’t think of anything bad

The place is nice, clean, and well-located. The best part is the host—the owner is absolutely wonderful, incredibly kind, and always ready to help. We really enjoyed our stay at his place.

Pleasant experience in Sri Lanka. The room is clean and spacious. Lovely terrace. Short walk to town and sights, see also the negative comment on this. The owner is what makes this place so welcoming. He is friendly. Most importantly he does not try to push his services or his friends services, but leaves you to relax in peace in his house. The owner drove us to the station for free. Good man. The downside. The shower could have better pressure. No views. The location score goes down as the town itself isn't very pleasing. Walk is by a very busy road with no walkways. Train station is near, but too dangerous to walk.

We got two rooms here for me and my mom, just for one night. The location is perfect for exploring and close to Ella, however the rooms are not equally comfortable. There are only two rooms, and the cheaper one has a very very hard mattress. The bathrooms were also full of mosquitoes. The place also gets loud enough around 6am,but nothing crazy. The owner was a bit pushy trying to get us an expensive tuktuk(8000rupees for going to three spots near or in Ella, around 20km max)and a taxi ride. I managed to arrange both at half the price. This left a bitter taste.

Beautiful surroundings and far enough from the centre to be quiet but only a few minutes walk into town. The hosts were extremely friendly and very attentive. Breakfasts were amazing. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay

Nothing! At the moment there aren’t any tea and coffee facilities in your room, but they will always make it for you. So don’t let that put you off. He is planning to have an outdoor kitchen area and when it’s complete will be a brilliant addition

The rooms were clean and as shown in pictures, the location is also good. The hosts were super kind and attentive.

Wifi was so-so...but then again, everywhere in Sri Lanka is like that.

What a lovely family. They went the extra mile for us. Great setting away from the hustle and bustle of ella town. Lovely verandah. Good chats. Nothing was too much.

Water in shower could be slightly warmer but given the hospitality it didn't matter for us.

Great location. Friendly owners nothing was a problem.

Nothing

The Host was very nice and caring. I arrived beeing sick already and they prepared healthy herbal tee for me. Also when I had to leave at 2am in the night to catch a bus, the host woke up for me and drove me to the bus station. The room was comfy and clean. Great mosquito net above the bed to prevent you from the many mosquiotos. Cute balcony to relax.

The beds are hard and unfortunately the neighbours renovate their house, so it's loud during the day. But here is the host not to blame.

The owners are very hospitable, the internet is very fast (130 Mbs, we worked from there) and the position very good, with restaurants nearby, and close to the path to Little Adam's Peak.

The host are welcoming, they will ask time to time if you need something. just far enough but not too far from the center to avoid all the noise of the main Ella street ( 7-8 minutes walk) . The room was clean, every basics you need are provided. Good value for money .

Nothing major ! just personal feeling ; the mattress is pretty hard & I wouldn’t say no to a hamac.

The friendliness of the hosts. It’s a lovely family that welcomed us very warmly. They recommended nice places in the neighbourhood, very helpful. We also enjoyed the location. It’s walking distance to the city centre but far enough to let you enjoy the quietness. It’s also close to many trails and tourist attractions.

We had a few small bugs in our room during the stay but it didn’t spoil our overall very positive experience!

1. The location is very nice — needs 5 min walk to the center but also far from the noise. Our stay was very quiet. 2. The house has a nice big terrace with chairs so you can sit outside enjoy the fresh air (be careful of the mosquitos tho). 3. We had everything we need in the room. The host provided us hot water when we asked, they also told us they are in the process to put a shard area with water boilers and all. 4. The host is super nice! He picked us up upon arrival and dropped us at the train station. Always swimming and checking if we needed anything.

I think it was a random case but I found once ant in the bed and twice a lost cockroach — the room is clean so maybe the ant was brought by us from the hiking. Room is a bit small for 2 ppl I find, and towels can be improved. Finally, nothing on the room, but Ella is very humid and can rain a lot. So be prepared of getting wet, and bring warm clothes. I was not well prepared so it affected my experience on the stay in Ella.

Nice clean place with friendly people.

Nothing. Its important to now that you dont book bij Agoda!! Its a scan and you Will lose youre money and the people dont get there money… so sad. Booking.com works out well!

Really friendly family, the room was modern, spacious and clean. The bed was really comfortable with a nice (but not too warm) duvet. The location was very quiet and safe, yet really close to the centre. It was great value for money. We've really enjoyed our stay here!

Nothing

We were only here for a night but gladly would have stayed longer. The host was very friendly, and gave us advice on timing for our next days activities. The room was spotlessly clean, there was a good shower with hot water, and the bed was comfy.

My only complaint was that there was no top sheet on the bed, which would have been nice as it was a little warm to use the blanket provided.

Perfect location near restaurants and path to Ella Rock, 20 minutes on foot from railway station. Owner is super friendly and helpful, everyday he asked me about my plans for the day and offered me a ride with his tuktuk, which I used to go to the tea factory (for some $ of course). His wife made delicious Sri Lankan breakfast - that I could ask what I wanted or didn’t want the day before. I would definitely choose this accommodation in Ella again.

The bathroom wasn’t well aired and it took very long time the floor to dry after a shower.

What a nice place. The room was clean. Not even an 8-minute walk from the city center. And very friendly staff!”

I was hosted by a lovely Sri Lankan family -- very attentive and sweet. I'd stay here again.

no wi-fi connection (perfect for a nice weekend escape in nature without wi-fi)

Very kind staff, clean room and great location.

The room didn’t have a lot of ventilation but it wasn’t a big problem

Nice comfortable bed and the room was spacious enough. Bedroom was clean with nice blanket. Host was very kind.

Things to improve: - Making it easier to find, there was only a sign in the back of the garden with the name. - Shower was warm, not hot, and water pressure was low.
