Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Area was ok and close to where we wanted to be apart from the room faults it was nicely decorated.
There were a few thing bed springs had gone, bedside light would come on then about 1 minute later go off and not come back on, only one bath towel and bath mat in room, no hairdryer in room. Breakfast was ok apart from cold mushrroms and sourbread toast that was hard to cut and could only have orange juice or tea/coffee could not have both.
It was cosy and had everything that we needed for the night.
Comfortable and clean. Good location with pleasant staff and good value for money.
There was nothing wrong with it!
Check in / check out went well, and dinner was pleasantly nice and ample parking. The room was also a good size and the staff were very helpful when we had questions.
Unfortunately the mattress of the bed was just not comfortable, and was well past its prime (we checked out early and went to another accommodation). One of the fans didn't work and nor did it seem the tv. The spray from the shower also had the remarkable ability to get under the shower screen and collect on the bathroom floor and unfortunately there were no decent sized towels to use (the staff gave us extra hand towels) and unfortunately they weren't serving breakfast on the day we were there so we had to find another place which the staff recommended but it was extra expense. The steps up to the room were also quite slippery due to the rain.
I liked the room and it's facilities .
You can do better with breakfast. It starts late. You can do 8:30am at least.
Nice welcome from staff, quiet location, spacious room, clean and an amazingly powerful shower!
A little noisy from movement upstairs as we were on the ground floor. Also random beep occurred from somewhere outside every 5 seconds or so, not sure what that was - wife and myself got used to that and soon fell asleep. The exterior door to our room “ocean” didn’t seem to stop the draught very well, could see light from under the door, so blocked it with a spare pillow.
The owner was absolutley amazing, he was friendly and welcoming and went out of his way to recommend amazing food and also a brilliant day out, we followed his advice for a train ride and boat to the lake and had a brilliant day. The food was absolutley delicious (im still dreaming of the cajun chicken!!) and all staff were friendly, helpful. Just made the overall stay really enjoyable for us. Thanks you the crofters team we cant wait to come back!!
I dont want to be negatative but only friendly advice would be is the bathroom needs a good deep clean and the tiles could do with a good regrout however, for the price i dont want to complain but it would be an easy fix to make the stay more enjoyable.
Lovely coastal road journey, easy to find & park. Relaxed atmosphere. Rooms were separate from the main pub (which I didn’t use) so pretty quiet and self contained. Bed and bedding were clean and super comfy. Good shower. Room was excellent in all ways for my needs and I will use it again (I just really want them to give it a deep clean). Friendly staff.
The place was superficially clean (bedding/towels/cups/refreshed teabags etc) but was deeper grubby and/or scruffy in corners, skirtings, and surfaces were quietly sticky. There were light bulbs over the dresser missing and the back of the tv remote also. Give this a good clean, and some decorative update and it’s a lovely spacious en-suite private room with all you need.
The food and the staff made the stay extra special.
Nothing
Breakfast not available. The evening meal was excellent and so was the service. The building and its surroundings are very pleasant.
B’fast to be all week not just w/e.other than that I liked everything. My wife wasn’t with me but if she’d come, as a disabled person she couldn’t have managed the non-walk-in shower.
Loved the big comfy bed
The manager is very argumentative and now deciding that it's not pet friendly at all.
pub on site
nothing
Great room for the price, staff attentive and helpful, good eats available at the bar
Always stop here when over at office - room very nice for the price and food lovely
Nice quiet location Lovely dinner and breakfast Friendly staff
My room was generally tidy, with a comfortable bed and a reasonable en-suite. Staff were helpful and courteous.
The floor boards creaked in the room. It was very noisy out on the patio in front of the room until after midnight on the Friday night.
Very clean and a lovely looking room
Just one critisicm the bath could do with either a bath mat or change for a shower cubicle, as the bath is very slippy when taking a shower
A nice airy room with Crofter character. A comfortable bed and hot shower. Unfortunately there were no bath towels so the bath mat and hand towels had to be used.
No breakfast available and hotel doesnt open until midday. Television reception is terrible and poor lighting for reading on the right side of the bed.
The bed
The creaky floors
Lovely food had breakfast. Good quality home cooked food
Shower screen missing seal, no TV in bedroom
Staff were friendly Room was comfortable, clean, good size, Ideal location, quiet surroundings
Nothing to criticize
Good size room and ideal location
Mould in the shower needs addressing
The room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and very hospitable. A lovely atmosphere, good location and close to where a family member of mine lives.
There is nothing I dislike.
Location was beautiful and so very quiet you would never know it was next to a housing estate
Nothing it was perfect for our needs
Good food. Comfy bed
Room looked fairly good til you looked at ceiling - bedroom had paint peeing off and hanging down and didn't look clean , a few cobwebs around. Some paint work in bathroom shabby. Door was very hard to lock, lock and open. Staff member not too happy when asked for help.
Room was very quiet. Was able to take meal back to room.
Room was very hot & fan was useless. Remote didnt work for TV, would have preferred more pillows. Due to natural wood in room there were several spiders which I could have done without. No decaf options or glasses in the room.
Everything is good there nice and quiet and rooms are nice only thing is tvs could do with being a litter bigger but overall it’s a really good stay for the price
Good breakfast
Dirty rooms and the area outside the room and sitting areas where dirty broken furniture very scruffy looking
The food was really nice
Room was unclean with mold , shower pole was broke , could hear the next room walking round with creeking floors , toilet and shower glass hadnt been cleaned
Did not like room, the place was over run with ants, did not stay ,10 minutes to check room, not acceptable, young lady was polite ,and said they was having a problem with that room, and had been reported many times.
Ant infestation in room, which was out of control, will be claiming money back ,has did not stay.
Staff were very polite and helpful.
Convenient location, easy check in.
Room very hot given the weather however no fan provided, missing basics like iron/ironing board. The cleanliness was passable but could do with attention to detail as hairs in bath, dust on head of bed, cups stained.
Quiet clean and tidy
Lovely building in nice grounds
Room very comfortable. Had dinner in the pub, both dinner and staff good.
Sound insulation of rooms poor. The person in the room above had a tv on until 3am, so very difficult to sleep. No obvious way to contact staff about it.
Cosey room
Tv areal was rubbish but I sorted it!
Very clean and well looked after
Expensive

Nothing
Nowt to say it's was good me and my misses go all over and this place is good give it a go and see
Nothing to say
Location
Value for the room
Beautiful setting - that’s about it really
Very difficult to achieve basic goals - a teaspoon, a hairdryer , a straight answer. As the accommodation is set on top of a metal staircase we didn’t appreciate kids running up and down at 6.30am. No guest info or staff around
Lovely staff
Grotty, felt like a HMO
It was in a nice location and the staff member was polite
A lot of spiders and cobwebs in the room, ant trap in the shower room, white powder on carpet near door presumably for the ants too, the mattress protector was disgusting - really badly stained!
VFM and nice and quiet
Maybe a little tlc in places
Absolutely beautiful settting food was out of this world very friendly staff couldn’t do enough for you
The beds were not the comfiest the banging of doors in the night
The staff where nice ,clean room didn't eat at the crofters the grounds where nice
Not enough light in the room bath plug got stuck so couldn't empty bath ,no tea spoons for drink ,and was out of the way for going places 10 min taxi
Comfy bed
Room could have been in better repair. Curtain falling off rail. Some mildew in shower. Previous residents underwear behind bathroom door. Bedside lamps could improve the room.
We had a lovely stay at this place
Everything was perfect
Location. Staff super friendly and helpful and the locals were great
Only downside was no fridge in room
Only 1 pillow each on double bed, Not cleaned under bed. No large towels
Super comfy bed, linen spotless. Staff helpful and friendly,
Bathroom worn and could do with a refresh, shower lovely and hot.
Convenient clean
Tea and coffe not replenished and room not cleaned
The room was well designed, clean and roomy!
Nothing really
Great staff, lovely rooms
The location was lovely, food was amazing and the staff were welcoming and very polite
The only thing I didn't like was the fact we didn't stay longer,
Great room..local to where I needed to go...food good.. friendly staff..defo return...
A room refurb..update re painting etc wouldn't hurt...however still very good...
The accommodation was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable.
The accommodation needs a little TLC. The walls needed a paint refresh and the silicone in the bathroom around the shower was mouldy. The curtain across the door was hanging off. It’s also very noisy there. I was on the bottom floor and could hear everything the upstairs occupants were doing and saying.
Lovely decor and scenery. Brilliant size room & I liked the furnishings. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Pub serves lovely food and good drinks.
No control for the heating, was far too warm and fan was broken. Tv quite small and far away from the bed.
Lovely people and food excellent
Rooms need a lick of paint and cleaned up a bit and you have a excellent hotel
Stayed there on the bike for Dave Day. Safe parking outside your door.
Nice room, decent showers
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean
Knowing how to check out would have been useful as well as the info that the pub closes at 8pm even on a Saturday night. There was no information should I have needed support overnight. A towel to fit around an adult would also be appreciated as well as additional deadbolts on the door.
The location was good. Rooms were in a block at the side of a friendly pub within a housing estate. Plenty of parking and a nice, quiet area. Décor of the rooms was nice, which is what attracted me to book this accommodation.
On arrival, I got the keys to my room. I struggled to open the door, but once in, the door wouldn't lock. My room was on the ground floor of a two-storey block that opened directly onto a paved area, which looked like an extension of the beer garden at the pub. Not a problem during my stay, as nobody used this area; however, if pub customers were to sit there, they would be directly outside the room's door and windows. I asked the pub staff if I could change rooms and was told no because they were full. The gentleman came with me to my room to see what the problem was with the door, and he too couldn't lock it. After a lot of faffing around, we managed to get the door to lock. I was offered a free meal as compensation, but I declined it. The gentleman did say he would check if there was any availability to swap rooms for the following night, as I was scheduled to stay for 2 nights. I was disappointed with the bathroom; it wasn't clean at all. There were layers of dust on the skirting boards, and a lot of soap had built up in the bath and shower. The grouting in the tiles was black and dirty. The main room was pretty much the same, generally tidy with little to no evidence of a proper clean.
The room was a good size and bed very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bathroom needs updating however everything worked well.
The room was lovely with a stunning view. Breakfast was really good value served with a smile.
First contact didn't give tge best of impressions. But once in soon got organised.
Everything
No shampoo or shower gel in room Staff need to serve not talk to everyone , super friendly
Pleasant check in. Easy check out.
The decor is aging and needs freshening up. A reading lamp would be nice
The bed was comfy and the food was nice
The room only had a bit of toilet roll. When we ordered they could of brought mine and .y partners out together instead of mine and another customer. I ordered a dulex king room and only got a king
Initially, the King room looked clean and pleasant with a wide bed albeit two single beds pushed together. It's generally well appointed, relatively spacious, and money has been clearly spent on the property in the past. There's plenty of storage space with tea and coffee making facilities available. The staff were efficient, pleasant, took payment on arrival and showed us to the room.
Many basics were far from ideal: 1. The free Wifi access did not work - exact router name not found and the password failed for the one that was located 2. There was only one set of towels, not two 3. A mirror was missing above the vanity table/dressing room area 4. The missing mirror was found relocated to the bathroom, propped up on a broken shelf above the sink which looked like it was about to fall off at any moment! 5. The toilet seat was loose and attached at only one point 6. No staff were available at the 11am check-out so we had to leave the keys in the room 7. Poor sound insulation between rooms 8. The curtain over the front door window was broken, being attached at only one end meaning it could not be drawn across fully except for wedging it over the rail in the hope it stayed put overnight Whilst initially promising, Crofters comes up short in the essential areas on closer inspection. The surrounding buildings, and the Crofters itself, have seen better days and need maintenance - a new front gate and basic weeding would help lift the appearance a great deal. Whilst the Crofters was open for dinner when we arrived, we decided to drive the 10 minutes into town instead and take our chances there. Breakfast should be included for the money but isn't, likely due to Crofters reopening at midday...
