Food is excellent, staff and owners very welcoming and friendly and accommodating.
Some noise as it is a pub and accommodation I stayed in is above so mainly doors closing and a little noise from pub if busy.
Easy to find and park. Made very welcome by the owners. Very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent served by very polite young waitresses. Would definitely recommend.
Nothing to dislike.
The location was ideal for the local area, the staff and hosts were friendly and very helpful and the food was tasty and plentiful, many thanks.

What's not to like, the hosts absolutely brilliant nothing is too much trouble, food really good, excellent location for lots of different places. Really clean with showering facilities. Overall a brilliant 2 days wish we could have stayed longer.
Nothing
Lovely and welcoming couple that own the inn, it was a pleasure to stay there. Great location, nice atmosphere, delicious breakfast, cozy room. It was all we needed!
Very comfortable stay and friendly staff
Lovely old but welcoming pub with helpful and friendly staff. Owners were great and really wanted to ensure we were happy with everything and looked after us well. Food was great particularly the crab special and a fab curry night. We enjoyed our stay in the loft room which was spacious and quite quirky and very much was in keeping with the age of the pub. We had stayed at the pub before and look forward to staying again in the future.
Great food, great beer and very friendly owners. All in all great value for money, will definitely return when again in the West Country.
The position of the property was good, good bus service into Wells good bus service into Cheddar and Bath. Staff and locals really friendly.Really nice place
All good
Bonne situation par rapport à Wells avec le charme de la campagne. Accueil trés agréable personnel très attentif. Nous avons pris le repas du soir excellente cuisine. Pub agréable. Nous recommandons cet établissement.
Rien
The owners were friendly, the food was good and the place was clean
Quirky and reasonably spacious. Friendly staff , always attentive to any questions or requirements. Good food .
Parking can be a little precarious due to limited spaces ! In the room I stayed in , it would have been nice to have had somewhere to hang up some clothing! Can be noisy on occasion but then again it is a pub at the heart of its community.
Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly and welcoming
Nothing
Was made to feel welcome on arrival, and the room was just fine.

Really friendly and great food. Very nice room and a superb pub. We could walk through the lovely countryside to Wells.
Nothing and will definitely stay again.
Staff lovely staff and customer. Food v good
Dog kept coming around us at meal times. Not dog lovers but he was old and had a limp so just accepted him. We stayed in loft room so not so keen on low beams.
Very friendly , staff couldn't do enough for us would highly recommend the George inn
The food was delicious the staff were so friendly and the room was so clean
Breakfast was lovely and beautifully presented
Sehr nette Leute.
Very nice, helpful staff. The quality of the food was good. We had dinner, which was well cooked. Breakfast was freshly cooked. The room was a good size and well equipped. We appreciated the fan!
Parking was a little difficult. Service in the dining room in the evening was very slow.
Great location…great hosts !

It was close to where we needed to be.
The rooms were dirty. We changed rooms 3 times. Each had problems. One room the bathroom bin was full of used sanitary towels. Another room was full of cob webs and above the bed. Also on the wall above the head board. The first room you couldn't sit up in the bed. Plus it was full of hairs. The second room was ok apart from the dirty bin full of used sanitary towels. Also the TV didn't work. The 3rd room was ok apart from the cobwebs and very dirty bathroom door and skirting board. The fire alarm went off at 3am and there was nobody in the building apart from one other guest. It took over half an hour to find a phone number to call for help. The phone signal is very poor there and we couldn't find a land line. The back door to the pub was open so anyone could get in. We were told that someone was supposed to be there. But there wasn't anyone. The chef in the morning said he was there but didn't hear the alarm. That was a definite lie. There was a poor black Labrador dog shut in a room above ours. It was crying and barking and scratching to get out. The poor dog was shut away for 90% of our stay. We had a coffee and sandwich in the morning as an apology for everything. Not good enough. We left a day early. We couldn't go another night of pure hell again. It is very over priced especially as breakfast is extra. Needless to say the young lady member of staff in the evening was very helpful. But honestly it was bad.
Lovely location, wonderful pub, food excellent and the staff were beyond amazing
Nothing to dislike
Lovely room, great location, food and atmospheric bar. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful.
Lovely friendly place with bedroom windows which opened and shut easily!
Only parking could be tricky
Breakfast, so amazing, highly recommend.
The bed was a bit small for me, feet hanging off the end and the pillows were not amazing. A few other guests were very loud and I could hear stomping around. But not the hotels fault at all.
Nettes Pub, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter
Zimmer sind relativ klein, mit 2 großen Koffern auf Rundreise braucht man schon Phantasie, alles unterzubringen
The staff and people from the area were very friendly

Breakfast was Good.

Very characterful pub and no noise in the room upstairs even though the pub was busy. Great welcome from the landlords wife and the staff were really nice. Had dinner there and that was faultless. All in all a great place to stay.
Homely, welcoming, excellent value for money. High quality chouce of food.
Liked everything
Peter provided me the history of the tavern. He and his wife put in a lot of work over 25 years to make it what it is today. Very interesting!
Beds were slightly uncomfortable.
Convenient location, friendly and communicative hosts, fabulous food, and comfortable room
Very friendly staff and very good homemade food.
The bar and staff
Limited parking but to be expected in a village
The food here is excellent. The owners and bar/waiting staff are all friendly and chatty. A real village pub which also acted as a shop for the locals as the one in the village had closed down. Room was comfy.
Lovely atmosphere, great rooms and wonderful food. Staff were efficient and friendly
It was all great
Lovely pub, the owners are wonderful. Good location if you’re going diving in Vobster. Highly recommend!!
Great accommodation- lovely pub with great food and extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Great location for getting into Wells. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed.
Nothing
The breakfast was delicious, local bread, butter and eggs. Friendly family and dogs around. Felt at Home.
The weather was a bit cold so could have done with a little more heat in the room.
A lovely village pub which was obviously the heart of the community and had excellent food.
Nothing
Good choice of menu for breakfast and dinner. Nicely presented and good value for money. Staff exceptional very friendly and responsive to requests. Pub in good location, well stocked with good choices. Pub very much centre of community, locals friendly and good to see additional services being provided to the local community.
Nothing
Cosy pub with good atmosphere and very good food
Limited off street parking.
The owners and staff were friendly, helpful. The dinner was great and the breakfast too. Our room was large and comfortable. The George Inn is very important to their community from what we saw.
No dislikes
Very comfortable bed. Well-appointed room. Proprietors were very accommodating, friendly. Dinner was very good value, very professional staff.
We have stayed at The George on many occasions and it is always wonderful. Staff, room , food all excellent.

Old and charming
Only parking
Excellent, we were looked after very well, all the staff were superb and the food was great. Thank you Rundle and Paddy
Accueil du patron, pub très sympa avec super cuisinier. Breakfast royal
Literie manquant de fermeté
The rooms were good, all of my family were happy with them as well as the staff friendliness and having a pub in the building makes for a good connection time for the family with reduced driving or moving around. The dinner was more than up to scratch as well.
Unfortunately on the evening of our stay, there was an auction for a good cause, but the auction went on quite late and the party as well. This didnt make for a good sleep all round and perhaps a bit more consideration for the guests (we had ALL of the rooms) would have been appropriate.
The staff were amazing and the food was outstanding and excellent value
Parking is a little tight but still manageable
Traditional pub along with excellent bed and breakfast.
Excellent breakfast and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful
Lovely family run pub. Good food, good drink, good accommodation and excellent staff.
Owners were great..Welcoming and helpful..Lovely food but the menu was a bit limited. Loads of tables and open fires. Lovely oldy worldy pub.
Bathroom was a bit tired and the sloping roof in room 1 prevents a proper shower. Loads of hot water though.
The highlight was one of the dogs who shared my breakfast!
I have no reservations
Friendly owners, lovely food
Welcoming atmosphere in pub surroundings with decent food - obviously a hub of village life.
Chairs in dining area a little uncomfortable
Size of room, warmth and large bed
Parking, head height in bathroom
The hosts were fantastic, dinner was good, a comfortable bed and a powerful shower.
The bathroom was a bit tired and could do with a refresh.
A friendly welcome, excellent meals, so good we stayed an extra night
Car parking area very small, but extra provided along the road, so not really a problem
Location was perfect for exploring Wells and surrounding area. Although on the main road we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Very friendly pub with a lot of community spirit. Locals were very welcoming and we were lucky enough to be there for Curry night, very good food. Not the cheapest place to stay but cosy, comfortable and full of character.
It was all great
Breakfast was great and the staff very helpful and welcoming
Parking was very limited. Our bed was over firm and uncomfortable
No breakfast provided despite checking what time it started. Nobody to pay before first leaving. There were no staff at all by the time I had to leave at 0820. Returned key and paid later in the day and was given a free lunch.
Friendly staff- Friendly pub dog. Good breakfast. Free parking Free wifi. Easy checkin
No connection to mobile phone network.
Super comfy beds, delicious food, accommodating locals, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, lovely shower with good water pressure. Fantastic find.
Lack of parking, only 3 spaces. A local moved their car so I could park though, without me even having to ask, so even that wasn’t a negative! Further parking at a shop a few doors down is available too.
Free parking
Not once was the room attended to. The room was so cold and the heating did not work - this was mentioned twice to staff members and no action was taken. The breakfast was supposed to begin at 8am (included in price) however on one of the mornings there was no chef scheduled until after 8:30am so it was missed. Another morning pre 8am there was bread of toaster left out as promised. It felt like I was given a room and just left to it. I would not recommend or stay again….
A very lovely village pub, with exceptional friendly staff, there was nothing I could fault about my stay. The food was amazing, great selection of ales on the bar, nice clean room with tea and coffee facilities. Will definately be returning soon and can highly reccommend this hotel.
A pub with accommodation and a friendly environment with great hosts who made us feel welcome during our stay and going the extra mile to assist with queries and requests.
Nothing to dislike but stairs to accommodation could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Worth noting that parking for cars is limited.
The accommodation was excellent. Large comfortable bed, large bathroom with powerful shower. The evening meal was excellent, as was breakfast. However, the real stars of the show are the hosts, Peter and Verenay. Super interesting life histories but also interested in our life stories too. They are very welcoming and the most friendly hosts I’ve ever encountered. Locals are very entertaining, and it is clear that this small village pub provides more than just food and drink. It is the hub of the village, providing morning newspapers for locals and guests, plus vital provisions like bread milk and eggs (locally sourced). There is no village store. We will certainly be revisiting this hostelry, hopefully in the summer as the outdoors area is spectacular.
Nothing I did not like. It's a very small, quiet village, but that's not always a minus.
Meals at The George were delicious and breakfast was one of the best I've had.
Nothing
Location was central to what I wanted, food was great.
I understand it's an old pub and the owners have no option to increase, but the size of and access to the parking area was not ideal.
Cute place, yummy breakfast!

Such friendly staff and so welcoming. It’s a real community pub and everyone is greeted personally. Looks the part too and has a nice garden. The food was very good.
The room was a bit of a squeeze.
The friendliness of the people
The stairs …but that is about my partner’s knees !
Good menu including GF options. Friendly staff.
Bed was a little soft for our taste
