My first negative review in 15 years 1. Bedding / drapes very dirty. This place is for a very short term stay 2. We were charged £100 at check-out for allegedly smoking in the room (we had booked a family room with our child so yes, of course, we decided to smoke in the room).

The location and price were good. The air conditioning was great.

The apartment was a bit damaged, including some things that should have been easy to fix before we arrived (eg removing a broken lamp and replacing missing parts of the coffee machine). These were reported and addressed, but should have been checked before we got there. The shower also did not drain well (the drain seemed higher than the lowest point in the shower so the water pooled)

Appena arrivati la doccia era intasata, sistemata la sera stessa. Il lavandino anche quello intasato e senza acqua calda, essendo il weekend ci è stato detto essenzialmente di tenercelo così. La colazione scarsa per il prezzo pagato e senza parte salata.

The location, friendly personnel. Really comfortable mattress.

The hotel wasn't ready for us at check-in time and made us wait an hour in the lobby for our room to be finished (we were though offered coffee while we waited). We noticed this is a recurring issue, with other guests waiting in the lobby for their rooms every afternoon. We were assigned a basement apartment (level -1), but staff reassured us it was actually a great option because it would at least be quiet. In reality, both rooms had thin, sealed-off old street doors that let in all the noise and air from the street. On top of that, the whole apartment was rather dark and gloomy (at least the indoor lighting was ok). As for the cleanliness, the sofa and its cushions were stained, the dishwasher smelled musty, and the shower drained poorly. Above all, the listing photos are misleading: the "stovetop" in the kitchen area is a fake plastic replica, and the staged stock photos of breakfast falsely suggest a gourmet meal, whereas in reality, it was only defrosted croissants, milk and cereal, oatmeal, and dried fruit. Unfortunately, I feel scammed in this regard.

The size of the kitchen, the speed of the wifi, the comfort of the bed. The kitchen is very well equipped though some things (like meat and bread knives and chairs) are somewhat hidden in a narrow cupboard, which we only noticed before we had to leave. But they are there and that is the key thing.

There is no blackout blind in the kitchen and since there is no door between the (relatively small) bedroom and the kitchen, the light woke us up early. There is a rail for the blackout blind in the kitchen too (which is perfect in the bedroom) so it is only a question of putting it up :)

As in a wheelchair was a little difficult getting in and out with the help of a lovely man, staff member he sorted a ramp out side back made it easier but the lack of dropped curbs & cobbles made it very uncomfortable. Also no raised toilet frame or shower chair wasn't too great. Lack of tea, coffee, toilet roll not put into room each day, having to ask for it. Understand no daily room service or any room service for the week there. I

Hotel LaVue is set in beautiful scenery right in the mountains with an amazing rooftop pool and spa. The decor throughout the hotel is stunning and the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. This is a boutique luxury hotel in Tam Coc, and proper 5 stars!

Ground floor room… woken at 6am by the bin men each day. Housekeeping walked in twice on our last morning while we were naked. Before checked out! Breakfast was a dry joke. Car park - £94 for 1 day 19hrs, underground and awful

The overpriced understocked continental breakfast was unacceptable in an area with so many good coffee shops and cafes The general grubbiness of the common areas, the corridors were not cleaned for the duration of our stay

The size of the rooms was great for a family of 4 adults. The location superb to walk around Edinburgh center. It was clean but not spotless.

Availability of a kitchen table and a couple of chairs. Maybe there was an extra table under the desk, which we didn't try to move as a wheel was missing. Still, having 2 chairs would help. Not enough space for opening the luggages or clothes of 4 people. Breakfast too basic.

- The staff is really creepy .. all of them .. we were arriving after a long way by train and nobody even said hi or welcome or even smiled at our faces . - They just kept saying the room is not ready maybe 4 or 5 times ( we arrived after 3 pm , check-in time ) and the tried to give us a lower floor room ( underground ) and when i refused to take it , suddenly , our original room was ready !!!! - They dont clean the room at all . - The water pressure is very weak . - Internet is so bad and so slow . - They always showed their anger when we asked them to change the towels . - Breakfast is a complete joke , nothing to eat except croissant and bottled juice . Really nothing to eat . - If i am in charge , i would fire that HR Manager who hired such Poker Faced Staff like that . - Really hated their silly creepy attitude all days ( 4 nights ) . - The reception itself infront of the elevator was very dirty and unclean for 5 days and nobody even tried to clean it !!!!! - I Will Never Ever Come Back Again to this shitty hotel . - Save ur money and go anywhere else .

Well placed hotel in New Town. Comfortable rooms. Easy check in and out. I had a studio on lower floor so not a whole lot of natural light but otherwise fine. I didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

Room/apartment was lovely. So well fitted out with amenities. Plenty of space for us without being on top of each other. Loved the fact we had access to a washer and tumble dryer, fridge, coffee machine etc. Kindly stored our bags for us after check out too.

Pokój rodzinny w którym byliśmy to tak naprawdę dwa osobne pokoje przedzielone korytarzem. W jednym z pokoi znajdował się aneks kuchenny z lodówką, mikrofalówką, zmywarką i zlewem, a do tego były tam sztućce, noże i przyprawy więc można było spokojnie sobie przygotować jedzenie w razie potrzeby. Łóżka były wygodne. Łazienka z kabiną prysznicową była fajna. Dla czterech osób taki pokój był w sam raz.

Śniadania były na słodko (co traktuję jako minus - wolę tradycyjne śniadania), czyli croissanty z czekoladą, dżemem lub maślane. Do tego dżemy, owsianki instant i płatki z mlekiem. W barze można było dobrać sobie kawę czy herbatę. Wi-Fi wieczorami działało fatalnie (chyba wszyscy goście próbowali wtedy oglądać Netflixa), co wpływało na działanie niektórych kanałów w TV. W szczególności kanały dla dzieci wymagały stabilnego połączenia z Internetem.

Probabilmente non ho prestato sufficiente attenzione al momento della prenotazione, ma da un Apparthotel mi sarei aspettata la pulizia quotidiana e non solo l'ultizzo di prodotti per farmela... Camera posta nel sotteraneo e poco luminosa...

The room was comfortable and the reception/bar/seating area is nice. Staff were friendly and helped me with my late check in. The bed was comfortable enough and the kitchenette was incredibly useful. The location is also walking distance to most of Edinburgh.

There were a few small maintenance issues in the room like the blind pull that had been pulled out of the wall and some water damaged wall near the shower. The floor in the basement room was also very uneven with slopes - it would have been nice to know about for mobility issues as it could be a falls risk. I got an offer when booking the property but if I’d paid full price I’d have felt that it was overpriced. I also paid for late checkout until 1pm and a housekeeper barged into the room at 12 noon. They slammed the door open and rushed a few steps into the room. Not giving me time to answer the door. If I had been standing behind the door by the wardrobe I’d have been injured. This made me feel uncomfortable and when I brought it up on checkout I didn’t feel like it was taken seriously.

Location is great for me with work, apartment was downstairs and facing the road. Road noise and passers by could be quite loud, but didn't affect ability to sleep.

Decoration was a little tired, and corners of the room were a bit dusty.

Το πρωινό. Μονο κρουασάν και τυποποιημένα γιαουρτάκια. Ευτυχως είχε φρούτα και ξηρούς καρπούς. Επίσης καθαριότητα και αλλαγή σεντονιών δεν υπήρχε. Μείναμε για 3 βράδια. Μας το είπαν όταν φτάσαμε. Τα σκουπίδια στο μπάνιο τα αλλάζαμε κάθε μέρα μόνοι μας, ευτυχώς μας είχαν αφήσει σακουλάκια.. Ζητήσαμε καθαρές πετσέτες και χαρτί υγείας.

Booked an apartment with 2 full beds for 3 adults. On arrival our room was not available and only room left had 1 bed. 3rd adult spent very uncomfortable night on a put up bed that was not suitable for a adult

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht (2 Stunden vor dem Einchecken), da wir eine andere Unterkunft verlassen mussten. Wir haben daher aufgrund eines Rabattes nur die Hälfte des Originalpreises bezahlt. Obwohl wir das letzte freie und vermutlich schlechteste Zimmer (im Erdgeschoss, neben dem Lieferanteneingang) bekommen haben, waren wir überglücklich. Und hat das Zimmer sehr gut gefallen und die Mitarbeiter beim Einchecken waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage der Unterkunft fanden wir auch toll.

Neben dem Bett lag Trash und Sachen eines vorherigen Mieters - hier hätte bisschen genauer geputzt werden können.

The room smelled, the lights in bathrooms is hospital like, the water don’t drain, it wasn’t clean

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est très bien, dans l’une des grandes artères d’Édimbourg. La chambre était spacieuse, ainsi que la salle de bain. On peut laisser les bagages avant le check-in et après le Check-out ce qui est très pratique.

La propreté n’était pas optimale notamment les toilettes qui présentaient des traces d’urines … et l’évier de la salle de bain qui bouché… le personnel à l’accueil a été très expéditif et pas forcément agréable. La jeune femme qui s’en va en plein Check-in sans explication, et nous laisse en plan. Même son collègue qui a essayé de reprendre la main était mal à l’aise pour nous… pour un hôtel à ce prix, on attend un peu plus d’amabilité…

No breakfast included and misleading booking.com listing that says breakfast was very good, implied it was included! It wasn’t included and was only a continental breakfast! No cooked breakfast available! Below street level room had no view, bedroom was very small, second lounge room was bigger and had kitchen. Room was hard to find and directions to it given by staff were wrong! We were in Room L12, check in was ok but you had to self check in and out. Car parking cost an extra £27! On top of £200+ room charge for the night! Wouldn’t stay there again!

Das sogenannte Frühstück verdient den Namen nicht. Was da angeboten wurde, ist allenfalls für ein Mitternachtssnack brauchbar. Es gab lediglich Croisdant, Müsli, abgespackten Jogurz, Obst und Insant- Poridge. Die Krönung war dann der Kaffee, viel Wasser wenig Kaffee. Das viel umwogene Frühstück, mit Eiern, Speck, Bohnen und Brot haben wir in diesem Hotel nicht erlebt.

Great location

Room was not cleaned properly on arrival. There was trash left from previous guests, bathroom clearly not cleaned properly and there were crumbs on the carpet of the bedroom. When complained (Friday), a cleaner didn’t show up until Sunday (started banging on our door from 8:30 am on a Sunday morning), and still left all dishes dirty in the kitchen. The bathroom had a bad smell too. Overall property was just not clean at all.

The shower had very little pressure, we paid over £300 to be put in the basement with no view, the curtains were very dusty, we paid £10 each for breakfast and the had no hot food, only croissants and cereal, the coffee machine in the room didn't work, there were cracks in the ceiling in the room and it was overall dark and dingy

Decisamente la prima colazione. Non tanto per la qualità in sé, quanto per la sensazione che mi ha dato: sembrava quasi che fosse stata organizzata sul momento e, forse, per la prima volta. Ho avuto quindi l’impressione che non fossero ancora ben organizzati. Pur avendo spazio a disposizione, la sala risultava piuttosto stretta e la colazione era abbastanza scarna: mancavano sia il pane che le fette biscottate e, per quanto riguarda il salato, non c’era praticamente nulla. Inoltre, non c’era la possibilità di utilizzare piatti o posate; al loro posto si potevano utilizzare tovagliolini o scatole per il cibo. Nel complesso, ho avuto la sensazione che il servizio della colazione fosse ancora un po’ improvvisato e necessitasse di essere meglio organizzato.

Das Zimmer ging auf den Hinterhof raus, wo es bereits früh am Morgen laut war, weil sort gearbeitet wurde. Insgesamt verbreitet das Hotel eine anonyme Atmosphäre mit wenig Charm. Hotel ist ja eigentlich eine falsche Bezeichnung. Es sind ja eigentlich nur Zimmer und ein pseudo Empfang.

There was not much that I liked about this accommodation. I had a safety deposit box and the bed was comfortable. Day one, I had to remake the bed as all the cover was hanging only onto one side of the bed

The place was dirty, dull and dingy. Dirty carpets in common areas, one staff member mentioned, only vacuummed once a week, (but definitely not around the edges!) My shoes stuck to the floor with every step inside the unit. It was advertised with a kitchenette and washing machine, but only had a sink and dishwasher, for what reason I can't understand as there were no means or equipment for cooking, nor a knife for cutting. Cooktop had been removed and replaced with a sheet of plastic. Apparently some units had washing machines, but was told at reception they may not work. Breakfast was hit and miss, most things were pre-packaged and were running out quickly. The kitchen dishwasher was broken, staff were either hand washing plates and cups, and finally resorted to disposable plates and cutlery. Insufficient staff for breakfast shift.

Beau studio, propre, avec tout ce qu'il faut pour passer quelques jours en ville. Equipements de qualité dans la cuisine. Le staff est agréable.

Petit déjeuner désastreux pour un établissement de ce standing. Café servit dans un gobelet en carton, pas d'assiette ni bol à disposition pour les céréales, que du carton jetable...Il faut se contenter de céréales, même pas un morceau de pain.... Nous avons regretté d'avoir payé les petits déjeuners à l'avance.

Good location. Has AC, elevator, and washing machine which was what I needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Run down, not very clean, and missing some important elements for an Aparthotel. A lot of the bathroom had mold. The kitchen stove was removed (lucky I didn’t need it). There was no clothes rack for drying clothes in the entire hotel and my room did not come with a dryer. Not enough surfaces to put things. The only pull out table was stuck because missing wheel (see photos).

Decent apartment, a bit older but still functional

The staff are clueless, no communications or handover between staff / shifts. Threw away two things I left in the apartment. The things itself are not expensive, but the process to throw away anything left behind without first store in lost and found is not good practice. The gentleman in charge of cleaning is good person. But the front desk staff are either new or clueless or both. I want to like it because I stayed there for over a month in 2022 (was under a different name then) but it’s frustrating.

It was clean, quiet, and the staff were great.

There was a smell around the floor and the rooms. While we complained they just opened the windows and said it would go away which it didn't for 2 days

Booked the Superior Family Room for a family of six, two adults and four children, and was very disappointed. The photos are misleading; the room was extremely cramped and felt like an extra bed had simply been squeezed in. There is essentially no privacy, with all the beds lined up in one open room. Having six people share one small bathroom also felt well below what I would expect from a “Superior” family room at the given price. Our room was on the lower ground floor and felt very stuffy, with poor ventilation. Overall, the room was uncomfortable, far below expectations, and I would strongly recommend families avoid booking this room or hotel.

The Appartement ist comfortable and spacious, we had two separate bedrooms, bathroom and washing machine. You can walk to the center within 15 MInutes. A small breakfast (croissants and coffee etc.) was also included.

There is NO Parking-Area as promised in the description - a misunderstanding or trick. Parking only outside in the streets - maximum e hours fpr bloody 27 Pounds ...

Uitstekend hotel met eigen keukentje. Ideaal om zelf opwarmmaaltijd te bereiden. Locatie was uitstekend. Binnen halfuurtje lopen ben je midden in centrum Edinburgh. Personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Aanrader!

Er was geen kookplaatje wat wel in de beschrijving stond.
