Great property and we are regular visitors. Good food and most of the staff are warm and welcoming.

The service at breakfast was the one disappointing part of our stay and could definitely benefit from some additional hospitality training. The gentleman who served us on our final morning was excellent: attentive, polite and genuinely welcoming. Unfortunately, our experience with the woman who served us for the previous three days and also checked us out was very different. She was dismissive and inattentive, and we were left feeling as though we were an inconvenience rather than guests. On our final day with her, we chose the continental breakfast, but she neglected to mention that all the croissants had already gone. No alternative was offered and there was no apology, which was disappointing. It’s a shame because the difference in service between the two members of staff was striking. If we knew we were likely to receive the same level of service from her on a future visit, we would probably choose to stay elsewhere.

The Old Fourpenny is in a great location and has a great atmosphere. The garden room with en-suite was lovely with good facilities and a super breakfast. The staff were really helpful and friendly throughout.

Very clean, quiet, staff were polite and helpful. Food in the pub was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Probably 5-10 min walk into town and about the same to the castle.

TV was on sub titltes and staff could not alter it. I expect the tv to be set for normal use when new customers arrive.

Comfy bed & the the garden was brilliant. Like being in the Med. Staff went out of the way to help & provided evening sandwiches even though not on the menu. Good selection of beers.

More powerful fan

Rooms were excellent. Clean, well thought out with all amenities needed. The en-suite was excellent, even with slip mat for the children. Bed was super comfortable. Food in the pub we couldn’t fault and drinks choice suited everyone. Breakfast was lovely, couldn’t fault it.

Nothing. The bedroom (room 14) looked out onto the pub garden/terrace which some may not like but it suited us perfectly as we had young children so we could get them to bed yet still enjoying a quiet drink outside whilst sitting directly outside the room door.

Unusual lovely property..

It was more like staying over at a house than a hotel. However it was very nice, no stairs we were on the top 3rd floor.. . Stairs were steep and narrow.

No air conditioning. Curtains should have been closed to keep room cool. Parking was inconvenient.

Very comfortable bed in a good location. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast and we had a coffee outside in the sunshine, in the pub garden, after our breakfast before checking out.

Our own fault - it wasn’t what we thought. Lack of research. Felt more like a motel than a hotel or pub with rooms. Directly outside the room was the pub’s garden-outside space and it was a beautiful evening so people were drinking, chatting until late into the night. The room was boiling hot (not the hotel’s fault: the temperatures were very high that day and they did provide a fan); we had to shut the window to shut out the noise when we wanted to go to sleep. It was then too hot to sleep. We also thought the cost was overpriced.

Staff very flexible for late arrival at 11pm, very friendly. Room not luxury but good facilities (e.g floorstanding fan to combat the uk's 5th heatwave) and very clean, great breakfast.

We found on road parking directly outside the hotel which was OK for 1 night stay - we didn't test the parking pass scheme the hotel has for longer stays - so own on-site parking would have been an advantage.

Breakfast was very nice. Room meet expectations. Was very clean, just some beard stubble in the sink. Beds and pillows were above expectations. Staff and dogs were very friendly. Would stay there again, the only things that would make it perfect would be on site parking.

Parking the car is a small issue as space near the hotel is limited however arrangements have been made to enable parking t the very local racecourse. This involves a 5-10 minute walk.

Lovely room, well sized and bathroom amenities excellent. It was a bit warm in the room but an opening window and a tall fan allowed me to keep cool enough. Breakfast was superb and we even had a lovely dinner on the evening.

we have stayed here before and we were very pleased with the hotel and we now use this as a base for our sightseeing trips this time we went to stratford and kenilworth castle which we enjoyed very much we look forward to our next trip when ever that will be thanks sheila gowland

Reasonable size room for three people. Good location, parking provided on the race course. One of the only places in the heatwave that provided two strong fans that actually cooled the room (not to be underestimated!)

It’s situated in a residential area that I felt uneasy about leaving my car. Thankfully we were allocated parking in the cricket club which was a short walk away

From the moment we arrived, this hotel felt like a welcoming home away from home, providing the perfect calm and comfortable space to unwind after a busy day of castle sightseeing. It’s tucked away in a quiet and unassuming street close to the castle and the high street. The staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms were comfortable, food was delicious.

We enjoyed are stay with The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel we liked that we were very near Warwick Castle, we enjoyed are cooked breakfast, the staff were very friendly & helpful, we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed when the weather was very hot 🔥 So I think they could add a air conditioning unit somewhere in the room as it got really hot, there was a standing fan in the room but it didn't make much difference, my partner had trouble sleeping.

Lovely room, very clean had everything we needed. Only a little gripe the sugar sachets were rock hard in the room and outside. The food was exceptional as was the staff, location - nothing to do not the town centre I expected, but everything to do with the pub/restaurant and hotel rooms was really great.

When we arrived it just looks like an average pub from outside but once in we were pleasantly surprised, it was lovely inside and it is so big. The room we had was out through into the garden and it was lovely. It was clean, fresh and the bathroom was pristine. We had a meal in the evening which didn't disappoint. The breakfast was lovely too. We had booked just to get away for the weekend and to take a trip to Warwick Castle which was also brilliant. If we ever took a trip to Warwick again we would definitely return.

The coffee pod machine, didn't read until after we could of asked for a kettle - we would do this if we went again.

A lovely room in a charming inn. Exceptionally comfortable bed, spatious bathroom with both bath and shower. Great tea and coffee making facilities. We did not eat there in the evening, but the breakfast choice was excellent, and very good quality.

A great find wonderful weekend. Really friendly welcome. Exceptionally clean with a lovely choice of in room refreshments. We ate in the beautiful surprise rear beer garden, the food was really good value and very tasty. We were given a parking permit to park securely and locally which was appreciated. Great location close to town and the castle. Will definitely return.

Rooms was hot as the radiators was on. Needed more bar staff at the bar when races was on. Long wait for drinks. But these are minor issues and overall had a fantastic stay. Shower was great, bed comfy and great breakfast choice. Will return

Conveniently located. Nice stuff and rooms very clean. Good breakfast included and nice outside space.

Bed was not particularly comfortable. Shelf too small in the bathroom to put anything on. It was quite noisy. Seemed to have a humming sound a lot of the time and sounded like a washing machine on during the night.

The room had a large double bed which was very comfortable with quality bed linen. The bathroom was sparkling clean and well equipped. We liked the location of the room on the ground floor wirh easy access to the many outside seating areas. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of food, both Continental, full English and other hot items. Very well stocked bar and comfortable seating areas. Would thoroughly recommend staying at The four Pennies.
