Roadworks 3 mile diversion to get into. Also the price kept changing. They tried to charge me an extra £4:00

It was cheap and, if it hadn’t have been for the road works, right off the main road we were on.

The diversion that sent us a few miles out of the way and wasn’t very clear It smelled of weed because people were smoking it outside our window on the ground floor. Not the hotels fault I know but still.

Clean and easy to find.

Reception should of been open till 10pm we got there at 8pm and it was shut. The phone number they left nobody answered. The room hadn't been made up properly, no tea, milk only one glass and one towel.

The corridor outside our room had a problem with waste pipe leaking and carpets were being treated 24 hours a day. The smell was awful. But it did not permeate our room which was important to us. The room was fine although toilet is very low. The property benefited from having a restaurant and bar on site. The breakfast was very good. We had fish and chips both nights but it was over cooked.

Room was clean and tidy and good value for money. Breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from. Staff working during breakfast were brilliant. Not too far from Birmingham Airport where we were flying from the day after our stay.

We were in room 1 right next door to the main entrance door which slammed shut every time another hotel guest came through. Disturbed our two young children a couple of times later in the night.

We both bashed our heads where the tea making is .There is a sign but maybe added some soft padding too

I was aware of roadworks but could not find the road to access the hotel. Parked and phoned, went through to central number and was twice transferred to hotel and nobody answered. I also emailed but have had no reply. After an hour of trying booked into Premier Inn. However the hotel thought I had checked in and out so clearly do not have a record of who is actually staying at their property.

Countryside location Handy for Redditch and Cadbury's World Room was cool despite the hot weather and had a fan

Great value stay.

Be careful of the current roadworks. Nightmare to find and terribly sign posted by the local council. Not the venue’s fault. Taxi drivers had no clue how to get there at night either.

Went from the crematorium to the hotel ( 5minutes away) took half hour to get there due to all the roadworks. No fault of the hotel but maybe they could have sent a detailed map of how to approach the hotel

The room was filthy, grime and pubic hair in the shower. Toilet unclean. The food was terrible in the pub, just all stodgy. No healthy options. So bad i asked to cancel my 2nd night but the reception couldn't do it. Had to wait for Jane to get in. Jane never arrived or phoned me. Terrible. Avoid!

Main exit from the hotel was subject to a major road works so everywhere we drove we had to make a 15 min detour down little country roads to get anywhere.

SPECIAL MENTION FOR SAMANTHA (Houskeeping) Sorted our issue out and went the extra mile. Nice Lady.

Did not like finding condom wrapper by the side of the bed. Which then led us to wonder about the cleanliness of the sheets. So we spent the first night laying on top of the bed instead of in it.

Roadworks on main road. So unable to access the pub. 7 mile detour. Rude staff, when I rang up took 6 calls to get through to ask for directions. Staff hung up . Very poor.. Reception unmanned. You have to go to pub to collect key. No ironing board in room.

Food was really nice and well priced, breakfast was great, allergy questions easily answered by staff. Every staff member was kind and helpful. Tidy pub and rooms, smelled nice in rooms. Really enjoyed chatting with the manager and partner. Will be back when travelling, thanks.

A slightly rowdy family in the morning but that was dealt with quickly by staff. Sofa bed was a bit hard.

The staff seemed to be expected to deliver a lot of service with very few people on duty. Thus there were a lot of waits in the breakfast room and at dinner. The staff that WERE there were brilliant, but perhaps Marstons need to think about employing a few more people so that those who are there are not run off their feet.

The Hotel is quiet and well located (or would be if the road outside wasn't closed temporarily - meaning a long diversion along country lanes.

We've been visiting for several years now, and it's starting to feel just a little tired, especially the restaurant. The food is fine, but the decor needs some help, and the staff, especially at breakfast, are overworked.

This specific night there was a person in the room next door sounded like they were letting a child bounce laps of the bloody room most of the night they were in and out the door slamming banging and making it very unpleasant! at one point I did have to shout through the wall telling them to shut up but had zero effect .

Room didn’t look like it had been cleaned properly prior to my arrival, there were used contact lenses on the floor and some type of sellotape. Also there was no air con in the room just a fan which was insufficient in the stifling heat.

Quiet location. I booked a family room for myself as a solo traveller so that I had more space..The room was very comfortable.

Room and bathroom were clean. Plenty of free parking space close to the property. Staff friendly and helpful. Location close to M42 for easy access, and handy for Redditch town centre. Stayed on very hot day and fan in room was very welcome. No aircon, but few hotels in this country have this luxury. Didn't stay for breakfast on this occasion, but I know from past experience that it's usually ok, including cereals, cooked breakfast and toast etc., overall reasonably tasty. Have stayed here several times before and will continue to do so. Disliked · Nothing really.

This place is terrible. The carpet smells as if it has never been cleaned. I accidentally paid for an extra child, and the staff made no effort to help, simply saying that their system showed one child. The only redeeming features were the restaurant staff and the breakfast, both of which were excellent. Unless you're desperately trying to save every penny, I would not recommend staying here.

I've stayed before and it's comfortable, and close to where I needed to be for the next morning. It was extremely hot, but my room was ready with a fan switched on.

The room was very clean, and all the staff in the pub and the hotel were very friendly. The cooked breakfast was great.

The only disappointment was that there was no air con in the room; a desk fan was provided, which helped.

Room was decent, a little dated feeling but generally clean and tidy. Staff were very nice and the restaurant and bar area for food an drink was really nice too.

Breakfast time on the property info was wrong and missed out on hot food over the weekend. Staff still sorted me out with continental selection. Evening food and drink was a little pricey I thought - but not much else in the area I don't think (walking distance)

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean and tidy.. Breakfast was sufficient and the waiter helpful. Also the waitress who served us for dinner was friendly.

The lool of hotel and the grounds

Bed was extremely uncomfortable and my son's room was the same, so wouldn't visit again, just for that reason, hardly any sleep unfortunately but hotel lovely surroundings and staff.

Very comfy room , liked this one a lot !

Lovely place and even though it was the England match it was very quiet in my room. The only downside is a severe lack of plug sockets meaning you can really only charge one thing at once and there is none either side of the bed. Not tragic but if you were there on business it could be a headache. Staff though were fantastic

There was some idiot kept banging doors all hours of the night I know you can't judge who is going to stay there but you don't get at more expensive places this is a first but it spoiled the whole break

We didn’t feel safe. A young man was able to open our bedroom door in the middle of the night. We were able to stop him from entering our room.

We loved it!

Lady on reception was nice and the room was Ok. There is a pub on site but I didn’t like the staff attitude and some customers was not happy with their food so left and went elsewhere for food.

Room was Ok but the shower would spray literally everywhere from the shower head! It needs replacing but no one on reception after a certain time in the evening so if you get room 13 expect the hole room to get soaked! It’s that bad it sprays over the to of the shower curtain and hits the door,toilet and anything on the shelf above the sink.. This place is overpriced for what it is and the pub also misleading on bar prices, they had a sign on the bar stating beer prices but charge a different price. Bar staff unpleasant, unprofessional had one drink and left to go elsewhere.

Excellent friendly professional service, changed our room for us as we needed an accessible room when we’d only booked a standard room. I had a steak pie & chips & a pint from the pub which was lovely. Quiet spot. Would stay again
