Broom Lodge

B&B was very clean and tidy. Lovely dining room and the bedrooms where idea for what you needed. Bed comfortable and fresh and I was treated to a bathroom as a free upgrade which was very nice of the owner to do this for me without measking. The B&B is so near Largs town centre (Walking distance) and handy for accessing the ferry port for going to Millport Island. I didn't have breakfast.

The bed was one of the biggest we have ever slept in and the view was fantastic.

Very friendly and accommodating host, the room was very clean and perfectly sized for a single traveler , but for me the bed was far too soft. Plenty of choice for breakfast with cereal , fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast. Very close to ferry terminal and town centre, with a big Morrisons just round the corner. Street parking, which might get busy in peak season, but I didn't have a problem.

Quality of the cooked breakfast, cheap sausages and bacon let it down.

Comfy bed and good breakfast choice cooked seemingly to order by the owner/host. Owner gave assistance in getting luggage from the car and to the top floor suite assisting with my disability.

Stairs to the top floor were an issue but managed to make it work however I wouldn't want to use top floor at Broom Lodge again, only based on my disability.

The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean. My son is autistic and felt comfortable and happy so that's an extra bonus for me!

The pillows weren't the most comfortable for me but that is likely a personal opinion! That's the only issue!

Il check- in: quando prenotai immaginai che il viaggio dall'aeroporto di Edinburgo durasse al massimo 3 ore (la dogana pero' a durata 1 ora e poi ho preso l'autobus per Glasgow e poi quello per Largs e poi un taxi per il b&b. Dunque sono arrivata alle 6 p.m. e quando sono riuscita a chiamare la Signora, all'inizio mi ha trattata come una scolaretta: avevo scritto le 5 p.m. e fino a quell'ora mi aveva aspettato.L'info nel Website era insufficiente. BISOGNA SPECIFICARE CHE L'ORARIO Di ARRiVO E' TASSATIVO (non presunto). Per me e' stato orribile!

I didn’t have breakfast on this occasion I have had it on a previous stay and it was very good.Warm welcome from Shona who helped me with case,great location overlooking Largs Bay and over to Cumbrae,easy to get parked on street,walking distance to town which has a good selection of shops,bars and restaurants and handy for train or bus to/from Glasgow.Quiet street at night.Short walk to ferry to Cumbrae/Millport which is a lovely day out with great walks and pretty wee town.

Could not get freeview tv channels or other channels like Netflix which were on TV handset(mentioned this on checkout).There is a microwave in room(but no dishes/cutlery if you did want to use microwave),personally a small fridge wd be a more useful item in room.

The bedsheets were dirty , I paid for two nights for me and my son , stayed one night then went home , bedsheets were dirty and the breakfast was undercooked , the dirty bed ruined my weekend , won't be anywhere near the place again .

Everything excellent. Perfect location, lovely room with surprise microwave and fridge! Stunning views across the water (not all rooms are at the front but the ones that are are amazing). Owner very welcoming and friendly.

Nothing to complain about, but just a suggestion - perhaps provide a plate and cutlery so you can make use of the microwave. (I bought a microwaveable plate, and had cutlery with me.)

The location can't be beaten and the view out of my window was a picture postcard, additionally enhanced by the yacht racing cup so the harbour was filled with stunning classic schooners. The owner was warm and welcoming and it was great to be offered breakfast early - which exceeded all expectations. I NEVER eat a full breakfast but all the other guests were enjoying it (a lovely convivial environment) and it smelled so good I couldn't resist. It was cooked to perfection, hot and crisp and delicious. Lots of fresh fruit on offer too.

I have to say on arrival I was slightly apprehensive as the parking is just on the road outside and the facade and little entrance didn't look particularly inviting, but the owner greeted me warmly and my concerns dropped immediately. The entrance hallway floor is unique. I would have preferred my room to feel a bit more loved and it lacked any real style or personality, which surprised me as the owner does! But the redeeming decoration was the view out of my window...that was priceless! The room was completely functional and just perfect for what I needed.

No En-suite bathroom. I didn’t check when I booked because I didn’t think that was a thing anymore. I have traveled globally for over 50 years, and that was my first room with no en-suite

Location was 5 min walk to largs town and the beach was great to watch out to Milport in the breakfast room. Definitely felt like home.

Room was a good size. Host provided gift as a present for a birthday. Did not have to do. Nice gesture. Breakfast was good and sufficient.

The proximity to the town centre and the view of cumbrae and arran. The host Seona was excellent and we were able to share old memories of Largs. Breakfast was exceptional although neither of us had the cooked breakfast, there was plenty of fruit and yoghurts.

My only concern nowadays is about fire safety it is an older property and I am not sure about standards

Seona is a wonderful host, very welcoming and attentive. Broom Lodge has loads of character and is a proper seaside guest house that is still her family home. It's location is excellent, right on the promenade between the Pencil and town centre. Great sea views from the breakfast room and front rooms. It's unpretentious and feels homely and cosy. Breakfast was really good.

There was nothing to dislike. The only additional thing I would appreciate would be a guest fridge

The location was unexpectedly amazing, and the owner, Seona, allowed us to park on the private driveway. She was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. As it was out of season, it was very cold, so Seona provided us with additional electric heaters to warm the room before the heating came on. She runs the house singlehandedly, and cooked us a lovely breakfast in the morning.

The room felt cold and damp when we arrived, and we couldn't get any hot water out of the sink in the bathroom, until the heating came on at 4pm.
