From the moment we walked in the Villa felt so calm and serene. We were warmley welcomed by our Butler Imalka who showed us around. He was so accommodating and always checked on us to ensure everything was OK with our room and if we required anything. The Villa owner also checked on us both prior to our arrival and whilst we were staying there. We had the larger room upstairs which was very roomy with a balcony a ver large and comfortable 4 poster bed with a balcony you could sit outside on. On this floor was a media room as well as a reading room. Downstairs had a massive dining table with more setting and a lovely outdoor area where we had breakfast each morning. It is spectacular and I woukd thoroughy recommend this for a stay in the fort as it is also so close to all the action on Pedlar St.

Nothing, the only thing I missed was a kettle in my room for a late night or early morning cuppa. Having said this, the kitchen was at our disposal if we wanted to make anything down stairs at any time.

Wow, what an amazing stay right in the heart of Galle Fort. Beautifully restored and styled Dutch era villa with fantastic and caring staff. Our butler, Imalka went above and beyond cooking us a fabulous Sri Lankan dinner on our first evening. Breakfasts were great, and the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was a real treat. Close to everything but a wonderfully restful spot to return to after a day of exploring. Can't wait to return!

It was truely opulent. The architecture and charm was second to none. Imalka was a perfect host. Silver service was outstanding. Great location.

Beautiful old colonial building in great spot close to everything and in the main road into the Fort. Communication was really good and staff very attentive. Imalka looked after us very well and it was lovely coming home to this tranquil place. The bed was extremely comfortable and wifi was good. Breakfast was perfect amount. Was a little on the expensive side but then again everything is expensive in Galle Fort. I would recommend this stay

We enjoyed being the only guests in a lovely property in the centre of Galle. We were able to walk everywhere to explore the city. We were wonderfully looked after by our butler and cook which made our stay very pleasant.

Seven Pillars is a true oasis. Always lovely to retreat into the charming decor to take refuge from the heat and the bustling crowds. All of the staff are extremely helpful, kind and attentive to all your needs. I was lucky enough to be taken to the markets by Imalka, and watch him cook a scrumptious dinner later with the ingredients we bought. It goes without saying, the hospitality has been amazing and we can’t thank them enough for making our stay so enjoyable!!

Stunning traditional restored Dutch property in the heart of Galle Fort. A hidden gem behind the wooden shutters from the street. Immaculate presentation and attentive staff.

Our room was located on the street - a little bit noisy but effective wooden shutters.

The property was beautiful, an old Dutch colonial house updated in a sympathetic way. It has kept its history but still has all modern amenities. Having a small number of rooms we were the only ones having dinner on our first evening in a lovely courtyard. The service from Imalka and everyone working there was impeccable. The location in the heart of the Fort was ideal.

Seven Pillars ist ein wunderschönes Haus mit viel Geschichte, das geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist. Es ist ein Ruhepol in einem trubeligen Umfeld. Es ist sehr sauber und hat einen schönen Garten. Zusätzlich gab es ein Upgrade.

Wir schienen die einzigen Gäste zu sein, trotzdem konnten wir nicht früher einchecken. Einer der so genannten Butler war sehr unerfahren und unbeholfen und wusste auf viele Fragen keine Antwort. Ungewöhnlich war, dass wir das Zimmer vorher über einen gesonderten Link bezahlen mussten und das innerhalb von zwei Tagen. Anderenfalls wäre die Buchung storniert worden.

Our room was very beautiful. Large, spacious and airy as well as very stylish. The whole property felt peaceful and calm. Staff very attentive and helpful.

The hotel is beautiful, extremely clean and very quiet but in a central position. Breakfast was served in the garden and was very good. They were happy to let us leave our luggage with them before we could check in and also after checkout until we left.

We would have liked some outside chairs on our terrace as we had a garden room.

The staff are exceptional. The food was delicious. The villa is clean and comfortable. It’s also in a great location, central to Galle Fort.

A beautiful property which was perfect for our three night stay. Very clean, staff were brilliant! Breakfasts perfect for us.

This wouldn’t put us off staying again but it was a bit odd having staff walking past our doors to the garden. They were extremely respectful at all times.

Eine wundervolle Umgebung - stilvoll und paradiesisch ruhig bei gleichzeitig zentraler Lage! Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt!

Wir haben um die Organisation eines Flughafentransfers gebeten. Uns wurde ein Angebot unterbreitet, das aus unserer Sicht „Touristen-Preis“ hatte (35.000 LKR) - das hat sich nicht gut angefühlt. Wir habe es gecancelt und sind mit einem lokalen Anbieter für 13.000 LKR gefahren.

Location is right in the middle of Galle Fort, short walk to all activities, restaurants & shopping. Imalka, our butler/caretaker cooked a fabulous first night's dinner, true home style cooking, he also prepares a fabulous breakfast. We had the bungalow to ourselves, what a dream to stay in a 400yr old immaculately presented stylish home. Absolute value for money

Was like living in your own villa, with butler and cook! We had a lovely dinner on first night. Owner and staff were super responsive and generous. Location was perfect, right in middle of fort.

Owner insisting on $150 cash deposit. We didn’t have the cash. If owner wants a security deposit than the establishment should get a card machine instead of asking for cash.

Perfect central location, a serene oasis after a hot day out. The decor is simple and beautiful, in the Dutch style. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our hosts, Imalka, Anjali and Champa provided continental or Sri Lankan breakfast (the latter was delicious) and an evening meal if requested. They were charming, gentle and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to visit again

Wat een fantastische ervaring! Deze villa is werkelijk een pareltje. Vanaf het moment dat je binnenstapt, voel je de rust en gastvrijheid. Alles is tot in de puntjes verzorgd: de hygiëne is uitmuntend, werkelijk alles is brandschoon en fris. De kamers zijn ruim, smaakvol ingericht en de bedden en matrassen zijn zó comfortabel dat je meteen tot rust komt. Het ontbijt was elke ochtend vers, gevarieerd en met zorg bereid. Je merkt aan alles dat hier veel aandacht wordt besteed aan kwaliteit én gastbeleving. Imalka en Champa: dankjewel voor de afgelopen dagen, jullie zijn de 'true gems' van deze villa. De locatie is eveneens perfect: de villa ligt aan een winkelstraat, ideaal om even te gaan wandelen of shoppen, maar zodra je binnen bent, hoor je niets meer van het rumoer buiten. De rust binnen de villa is indrukwekkend – een echte oase midden in de stad. Wat deze plek echter écht bijzonder maakt, is het personeel. Er is altijd iemand aanwezig in de villa, wat niet alleen een gevoel van veiligheid geeft, maar ook zorgt voor een persoonlijke en warme service. Imalka en Champa verdienen een dikke pluim – ze zijn ontzettend vriendelijk, attent, behulpzaam en professioneel. Ze zorgen ervoor dat je je welkom voelt en werkelijk niets tekortkomt. De eigenares mag trots zijn op zo'n topteam! Ook de communicatie met Sharlini verliep vlekkeloos – snel, duidelijk en vriendelijk. Alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is uitstekend. Gezien de service, locatie en comfort, krijg je hier absoluut waar voor je geld. Deze villa is zonder twijfel een aanrader voor wie op zoek is naar ontspanning, luxe en persoonlijke aandacht in een prachtige setting. Kortom: twijfel niet en boek gewoon. Je zult er geen spijt van krijgen!

Beatiful building in a great location inside the fort. Imalki was a wonderful help. Lucky enough to be the only ones there so had the place to ourselves. Very much a place to stay.

We absolutely loved our recent stay at Seven Pillars in Galle Fort. Communication with the owner was excellent. The butler Imalka and his wife Anjali provided excellent care, and I loved my visit to the fish market and supermarket with Imalka to source the ingredients for a delicious dinner that he and his wife cooked for us. The house is stunning and its location is fabulous. Everything is literally on your doorstep, so it’s a perfect base for exploring Galle Fort. Once you’re inside the house it is very calm, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. We would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful property.

Seven pillars was for us the outstanding accommodations. Located in the Galle Fort in charming historic colonial villa which is beautifully decorated with old furniture, giving it a wonderful sense of history and character. Despite its age, it was very comfortable and very well equipped. (Books, games for entertainment, TV,…..). The inner courtyard is green and peaceful. Imalka was a great host – friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and perfectly served in style. Communication with owner Sharlini was great.

This is a beautiful mansion right in the middle of GALLE. A perfect retreat with white glove service. The staff was loving and kind and prepared exquisite meals served professionally. The house is spotless. The garden is peaceful. Every detail is considered. You will be so happy to stay here.

Absolutely outstanding property - beautifully decorated throughout and so spacious the 4 is us staying there could have avoided each other for the 3 days we stayed there. Marvellous staff - delicious breakfasts each day and a fantastic home cooked meal on our last night. Sharlini the owner was lovely to deal with throughout. The pictures - marvellous as though they are - don’t really do it justice and though the most expensive place we stayed in our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka, Seven Pillars was by the far the best. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Galle Fort and we would love to return on day

Absolutely beautiful property, spoke with the owner, who seemed friendly and really wanted us to enjoy Galle Fort, gave me lots of information. Imalka, her man at the house, was a marvel. One of only a few, still standing, houses in Galle Fort. I’m sorry I didn’t take any internal photos, the house is very beautiful, three bed, three bath, tv room, lounge, dining room. We loved it.

The most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing property I’ve ever stayed at. The location, the facilities, the service was all top notch. Imalka took such great care of us and was extremely gracious. Seven Pillars is a wonderfully proportioned villa with high ceilings, tasteful furnishings & a serene atmosphere. The inner courtyard is lush & restful, & the bedrooms & bathrooms spacious & comfortable. Imalka the butler & the other staff were highly professional & cooked absolutely delicious meals for us, served at the expansive dining table with ‘all the trimmings’. We truly felt like royalty. For a relaxing escape from the heat & bustle I can’t think of a better place.

What a beautiful exquisitely decorated property. Positioned in the very heart of the fascinating Galle Fort district we had access to everything by foot. Imalka was attentive, impeccably presented and gracious, made us lovely breakfasts and accommodated us however we needed. If we had stayed longer we would certainly have availed ourselves of his home cooked meals. Communication with the host and with Imalka was always prompt and addressed any question. I wish we could have stayed for a month! Rhank you so much for having us, the whole experience was a treat!
