We have stayed in a lot of places due to traveling for sports and i must say this stay was 1 of my favourite. First meet with a wonderful lady at check in, then getting to the room it was clean an quiet big it had everything we needed for our stay the beds were all super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Portable heaters took awhile to work and were in the way. The unit is very old, but well maintained and clean. Some road noise too. A little out of town.

Great stay! The room had everything we needed plus more, heater kept us cozy warm, portacot was pre-set up for us on arrival, the space was very clean and Steph (I hope I got her name right) was super friendly, overall was great value for money - thanks for making our stay so easy!

The heater is not big enough for the room. The studio has a high ceiling so needs a more powerful heater.

Stephanie, the owner/manager was delightful. So helpful and kind. She is the soul of the hotel.

I was surprised at the distance out of town but that was because I didn't read the details. Transport was non existent except for expensive taxis but the lovely owner offered to drive me to town.

Needs more lighting in rooms

The rooms were extremely comfortable , very quiet and clean. Plenty of space to leave luggage and the heating worked well

We could not find anything to complain about (apart from the rain)😊 The lady at reception was very helpful finding out about the closure of the road to Haast on account of all the rain.

Very big rooms with a complete kitchen and living room. Feels like home rather than a hotel. Nice stream outside the kitchen Windows. Friendly staff.

I loved the fact that when we had an issue with the room & notified the staff it was fixed immediately & then we were very happy with everything. The rooms were spotless.

that the fridge did not work when we arrived but did not notice this until the following evening when the food was not cold & the milk had curdled. However it was rectified & I would like to stress that if you have a problem you let the owners know so they can fix it.

There was a misunderstanding. We park n walk across the bridge. The staff must have thought we came another way. We did not know the other entrance at that time.Hence the instructions for our unit was to go the the main road and next right. It was very dark. So we head back to state highway. Got ourself stuck on the soft grass n realise the next right is not the motel. I felt uneade as we were stuck with part of car in state highway. Perhaps better lighting near motel. Manage to get our car out before needing to seek assistance.

Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. I saw the team going around doing their cleaning run and could tell they do a really thorough job, so the rooms are sparking clean. Rooms are good size and have everything you need. Great set up for a stop on our family road trip.

You do get a bit of road noise but that is to be expected with the location. The pricing reflects the fact you will get some road noise and they do provide ear plugs, so it's just something to be aware of more than anything.

It was. Rey clean and house keeping came in every day and tidied and made the bed

One of the windows was very badly damaged which didn’t really affect the stay but it would have been good to have been told about it. And one a personal level the bed was way to soft.

Shower stall too small even for smaller statute people.And no power point in the bathroom.

Noise noise noise.. 😞 100kmph within 20m of your door is hard to adjust too... Didn't realise until too late in the booking.

We had a really comfortable time here. Place was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed. It genuinely felt relaxing and taken care of.

High ceilings helped make the accommodation feel more spacious. Checked in by a lovely friendly lady. Could hear the kiwis outside.

Main bedroom was quite crowded. Not a lot of space to move around one side of the bed.

Um .... we had the closest unit to the highway and ... yes, traffic noise was very bad.\ But ... we had been up since 4:30am so we slept OK :-) Mainly just out to it.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, I had requested a late checkout time and the staff were more than happy to accommodate my request.

There is a bit of road transmission from the main road, but this cannot be helped. Perfectly fine once asleep.

The unit was really spacious. Separate bedrooms, bathroom and shower.

It was raining lightly when we arrived, I got quite damp, walking across the bridge to reception. The shower tap was unusual. The car space was small for two cars. The bed was uncomfortable.

We liked having access to some private space outside. It was also nice to be able to park right outside our door. There was a nice dining table and the kitchen was well-equipped.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of road noise all night long so we didn't have a restful sleep.

The location was nice for a stop on the way up the west coast. The rooms were perfect for 4 of us.

It's like a granny flat, with a separate bedroom and lounge. It also has a full stove, and cooking implements, so you can cook a full meal. The internet is also very good. Bonus: we heard kiwis during the night!

The only criticism is that the units are located next to the busy road, and there is no double glazing, so there was a bit of road noise. However, it got quiet after about 10pm, so it didn't interrupt my sleep.

We provided our own breakfast and dinner which was fine, we didn't expect it to be supplied for us.

Nothing was wrong at all

The kitchen and dining room was immaculately clean and had everything you need to cook and eat. The lounge looked comfortable but we didn’t spend time here. Out unit was clean and the beds were lovely. The ensuite had complimentary soap and shampoo. The property has plenty of options for rooms and shared facilities are spread around. Staff were very helpful regarding tours and times to visit the glacier, which can be seen from the property when conditions are right (we missed it, unless it was that glow…)

However, the room had no opening windows or source of ventilation, unless we left the door open. Maybe there was a hidden source?

We had a fantastic experience here. The check-in was incredibly efficient—the friendly staff had our keys ready immediately and even shared some great local dining and sightseeing tips. Parking is right at the front door, making unloading a breeze. Check-out was simple with a handy key drop box. The room itself felt huge thanks to the vaulted ceilings and amazing natural light from the large sliding glass door. It was pristine and had a great vibe. The bed was top-notch quality, and the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink) was perfect for our needs. We also really appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and the abundance of outlets for our devices. Great shower water pressure and a nice touch with the provided coffee, tea, and cream. Excellent value for the price. We would definitely stay again!

There is some road noise during the day if you have the doors/windows open, because there is no air conditioning, but it quieted down significantly at night. There are even provided earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch but I did not need to use. The town, beach, and local sights are all very close, but you’ll likely want a car as they aren't quite within walking distance.

Good location. The owner Steph was very welcoming and friendly. And we were very happy that our Border Collie could stay there with us.

It was very disappointing that the water pressure in the shower was inadequate. Virtually a mere trickle. The hot water pressure in the bathroom vanity too was inadequate too. There was no heat pump in the unit. There were x2 portable heaters that were inadequate. Had problems with the TV, owner said wiggle this connection etc. Then she came to sort it out. The outside of the box kitchen window was taped up with duck tape. And the couch was uncomfortable. The interior walls of the unit showed evidence of maintainance / painting that hadn't been completed. The owner Steph said this was the last unit they were going to refurbish. I believe it shouldn't have been available to the public. It was the worst motel unit we have ever stayed in.
