This little quaint BnB was truly exceptional. The attention to detail was just the icing on the cake. The rooms were spotless, bathroom fresh, a very warm and open welcome from Leanne . The original features, classical English antique vibes with the decor and very classy furniture. The price for a single room was very reasonable and this included a cooked breakfast, not to mention a huge selection of continental aswell. Again there was just so much choice I don't know how she does it. It's only a five minute walk from the town centre . I believe in supporting the small independent family run accomodation over a big hotel chain.

Absolutely nothing I didn't like, I will be going back to Carlisle and I will be booking this BnB again.

Ashleigh House is a charming guest house situated in Carlisle. Leanne is a warm, welcoming, and cheerful host. Breakfast was excellent, and on-street parking is available nearby. Carlisle is an engaging historic city, featuring an outstanding cathedral—noted for its striking blue ceiling adorned with gold stars—and a fine castle. The location was ideal for exploring Hadrian's Wall.

Very friendly and helpful hostess. Bed very comfortable. Everything clean. Cooked breakfast was lovely. There were other Breakfast meals available or as well as, but I didn't use them. I'd happily stay there again.

Just a one night stay at the end of the Cumbria Way and it was wonderful. Good little room, nice bed, excellent shower. The breakfast was large, tasty and produced at very short notice when I'd made a mistake about my bus time. Usefully, the bus station was less than 5 minutes walk away. Highly recommended.

The lady was very helpful, and welcoming

The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the start. Breakfast was fantastic - delicious English breakfast with great fresh coffee! The house and bedrooms are spotlessly clean, beautifully and thoughtfully furnished with high-quality details. To top it off, the location is ideal, just a quick 10-minute walk to the cathedral. Highly recommended!

Gemütliche Zimmer, sehr gutes Frühstück (neben kontinental konnte man sie die Teile aus dem english Breakfast aussuchen, die man wollte) und Parken konnte man mit einer Parkkarte vom B&B kostenlos direkt in der Seitenstrasse. Preis -Leistung war also richtig gut. Das B&B ist ein paar Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum.

Very nice old guesthouse, very welcoming. We were lucky to have a room at the back, which was very quiet. Excellent breakfast. Within easy walking distance of some nice restaurants and the train station. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely B&B on the edge of the city centre. A really convenient location for exploring the city. I stayed here for one night while walking the Hadrian's Wall Path, the property was close to the path route :-). The owner was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was superb!

Leanne was really welcoming and had kindly set up iron and uroning board for me to use. Room had ecerything I needed and ensuite was great wuth an efficient shower. Great furnishings to suit the house. Fab coffee in the morning. Price was excelent value.

The location is very convenient for parking using a permit for our stay and an easy walk to the railway station and the city centre. The property is well maintained and attractive. Leanne our hostess welcomed us and gave suggestions for nearby restaurants for dinner and gave time to her guests.. She cooked our breakfast and provided good choices. The bedroom was attractive, quiet and clean. Nice size shower.

This B&B is a short walk from the city centre and easy to find. A friendly welcome on arrival and throughout the stay.

The property is early Victorian and like many similiar properties you are aware of movement in the room above.

Wir wurden auch am späten Abend noch sehr nett empfangen. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Auch das Frühstück war sehr liebevoll gemacht und typisch für ein englisches BnB. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Allt ifrån den bekväma sängen, till den goda engelska frukosten och det fina bemötandet från värdinnan var toppen. Läget är också perfekt. Jag kan verkligen rekommendera Asleigh House.

Host couldn't have been more helpful. The room (3) was exceptionally clean as was the en-suite. Beds were very comfy. Efficient secondary glazing dealt with most of any room noise. Breakfast was ample and delicious with a great choice. Perfect location close to town and were able to park with no problem (disabled space) free with a permit provided by Leanne. Lots of little touches everywhere that just showed they were thinking of guest comfort.

Room decor was a bit dated

My single room fully met my requirements, and the en-suite was spotlessly clean, modern and efficient. Leanne was a terrific host, and the full English breakfast one of the very best I've had on my various travels. I would highly recommend Ashleigh House.

The breakfast was brilliant. A very wide range of things to have. Cooked breakfast was very good. The room was clean as was the shower room. Thank god there was a fan in the room, it would have been unbearable otherwise in this weather. And of course, hot air rises so not very good to be on the top floor.

We had to climb 2 sets of long, high stairs. This definitely wasn't expected. If we had been staying more than the 1 night I'd have asked for a different room. I'm 61, and climbing those stairs was very difficult. Sorry but the room was also very small. The shower room was also very small. Also the bed wasn't very big. I'm not sure why it says on this questionnaire that I requested a quiet room, I certainly do not recall making such a request.

This property is an absolute gem, Leanne is super friendly and offers a fantastic stay in luxury. I stayed in room 6 which was beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything you could need. I was visiting the Sands Centre for a show and the location was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic, such good quality ingredients and very tasty. Leanne really was a fabulous host and was super helpful. Highly recommended for an enjoyable stay.

This was a lovely BnB. I was greeted at the door and shown to my room, as well as given a permit for my car to allow me to park and not worry about timings. I was only there for one night but it fit the bill. Lovely room and en suite - all very clean and tidy. Breakfast was fantastic and she had gluten free options, as I had mentioned that I'm coeliac. Just a lovely place and the host was most welcoming. I'd recommend staying here.

The garden is stunning! We enjoyed our takeaway dinner out in the garden and sat out there with both our wine and tea. The breakfast was excellent.

The room needed a fan to move the air around. I opened the door and didn’t worry about it being open but many people might worry about that.

Woken at 4:30 am by thunderous traffic, motorbikes and loud music in cars. I stayed in ten different overnight accommodations on my trip and that was the worst night of all. The traffic was intense, none stop, and immediately outside of my room. It was also the most expensive being over £60

Very noisy

Location is convenient for the city centre, shops, restaurants etc. Breakfast was delicious - plump herby sausages, a cornucopia of cereals, waffles. This was my second year of staying here - the ambience is lovely.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Great attention to detail. Provided extremely nice vegan breakfast for me and even provided oatmilk for tea/coffee in room, plus vegan/cruelty-free toiletries without my asking. Very impressed!

Perfect place for a stop-off on the way to Scotland, but central enough for a longer visit to Carlisle. On-street parking to side of property for which owner can give a parking permit. Very comfortable room - I had a single room which was reasonably big and lots of light. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here again - great value for money.

Nothing to not like at Ashleigh House. However, if you are an EV driver, please note that Carlisle has many EV charging points, but many are not very good. I recommend to head straight to Arnold Clarke - short drive, but worth it for hassle free charging. Nice pub nearby 😉

駐車場所の設定が外国からの訪問では、最初理解できずしばらく周辺を徘徊していた。説明を聞いて理解できたし、新しい発見でもあった。

Only 10 minutes walk from the train station and close to the park and river for walks. Single bedroom perfect for a nights stay. More boutique than modern minimalist style of other b&bs. Bed comfortable and cosy for a good night's sleep G. Breakfast was great plenty of choices. Host Leanne could not have been more helpful. Would definitely go again.

Very convenient and so incredibly beautiful. I was a solo visitor so my room was exactly what I needed. I would have never expected such comfort and all the amenities provided was possible in my smaller room and it was.
