Beautiful room, loved the jacuzzi and pool. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location was great.

It would be great if breakfast had signs for allergies. I had to keep asking on each item if it had dairy and gluten in it. One staff member never came back to me, others were busy would help then run off. Eventually I gave up and just had the basics rather than ask for each item.

Everything you need in one place, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the Spa is divine and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, a short walk to the viaduct and many food and drink options close by.

From arrival, staff were not very attentive. Having to contact reception continuously took away the relaxation of our stay.

The housekeeping service was hit and miss. Whilst we were away for 5 hours on day 1, our room wasn’t serviced. On day 2 it was the same and we had to ring to get the room serviced. Apparently we weren’t a priority. Interesting comment.

I very much enjoyed our stay here. The hotel room was beautiful and they met our accommodation requests. The front desk people were kind and helpful. We especially liked the central location close to the train and water. Good job.

The hotel is quite stunning. The rooftop bar offers some nice views and drinks are reasonably priced. The room is lovely and very clean on arrival . A welcome pastry was brought to us by the concierge and was delicious. Location is right in the heart of Auckland, so a great place to be, but a little noisy late at night on the weekends. Very easy to get to and from the airport

From the moment we stepped into the hotel, our senses were heightened. The venue smelled divine throughout, everywhere I looked was visually pleasing, and our room was beautifully designed for elevated comfort. The hotel offerings and amenities were top-notch, such as the spa and wellness area; the rooftop bar and buffet breakfast (found on the floor just below the bar) had unbeatable views of the city with a relaxing, luxurious yet inviting atmosphere.

Dhruv and sudesh were amazing and very helpful, the rooms were amazing and had a huge tub! I will definitely be coming back to stay again

The reception/front desk staff were amazing to deal with. They went above on beyond, to make my daughters stay so special- giving her a card and special treat for her birthday. Any request, never seemed like an issue- the staff were just fantastic to deal with.

Minibar/snacks section, had half eaten chocolate bar left in it but this wasn’t a big deal-easy to miss and easier for me to throw away.

SO/ Auckland was a fantastic stay and the perfect finale to our New Zealand holiday. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's stylish, opulent décor and luxurious feel. Our room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and very well equipped, with an incredibly comfortable king-size bed that made for a great night's sleep. The bathroom was particularly impressive, featuring a large rainfall shower, a free-standing bath, and complimentary toiletries. The only minor disappointment was the hairdryer, which had clearly seen better days and felt quite sticky from previous hair product use. Thankfully, we had brought our own, so it wasn't a major issue. We also made use of the pool facilities. The pool itself is quite small, but it was more than adequate for a relaxing swim as it wasn't busy during our stay. Do be aware that the water temperature was on the cool side. There are no changing rooms by the pool, so it's best to make use of the complimentary dressing gowns provided in the room. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. There are also several lovely cafés nearby that are perfect for brunch. We'd particularly recommend exploring the local café scene if you're staying for a few days. Overall, a luxurious, comfortable, and well-located hotel that provided a wonderful end to our trip. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Auckland.

The scent in the hotel is way too strong. It over powers everything and gave me a headache.

I had another great stay at the So in Auckland. I love staying at this hotel for work and also with the family. The restaurant area is lovely with amazing views, the staff always professional and great and I’ve been lucky to get some nice upgrades on my recent trips. Highly recommend also with the great and central location to everything in the heart of Auckland.

Loved the swimming pool. The glass edge showed how clean it is. The sauna was great too. The rooms were spacious with lots of windows .

The property was very clean, tidy, cosy. Short walk from train. Bus stop right outside. Staff were very welcoming and polite. Loved the spa bath in the room. Nice and quiet. Definitely return.

Nice weekend getaway in the cbd for us. Very clean room and unique designs / decor throughout . Staying in the SO/ sort of “completes” the Sofitel experience for us, having previously stayed at a Sofitel Legend and a few other “normal” Sofitel properties . New Zealand is a country that does not have any world class hotel brands , and in general the hospitality service , attitudes and standards are not “world class”, so I wasn’t expecting much, but the team at the SO/ were all excellent, from reception to housekeeping, concierge, the security chaps at the front, to roof bar staff , to main restaurant staff, all awesome. The pool was excellent, so were the small sauna and gym. I note that another comment mentioned that the hotel is “run down” , the hotel is not new but it is classy, clean and well maintained, has good staff, and definitely NOT run down in my opinion. Overall, a nice short weekend break and will definitely return.

Room was not made up despite having marked the room for make up on all of the days we stayed. The soap dispensers were empty. The blankets were missing covers. The location and atmosphere were really good.

Parking a little difficult for drop off / pick up. Welcome Bar on ground floor and on higher level closed on Mondays. Stopped comp mini bar treats. Rooms a little tired. View not very nice with buildings and construction.

The food is so good, thanks to the server especially Mr. Paulo, very polite and helpful, we had a very nice dinner and enjoyed a lot
