Wembar Hotel

This was honestly the worst reservation experience of my life. I have stayed in multiple hotels across London, as well as various other types of accommodation, but I have never experienced anything like this. Calling this a hotel is, quite frankly, ridiculous. On arrival, I saw a gentleman sitting outside and genuinely thought, this cannot possibly be the hotel. Unfortunately, it was. To be fair, he was polite and friendly, and that was honestly the only positive part of the entire experience. He kindly showed me to my room and handed me the key. However, the moment I saw the room and the entrance door, I immediately felt unsafe. The door did not feel secure and did not provide the level of security I would reasonably expect from accommodation. As a solo female traveller, this was an immediate no for me. I should not have to question my personal safety when checking into a hotel. I then looked out of the window and was met with water bottles, beer bottles, rubbish and overgrown weeds. The window had apparently been left open, and there were flies coming in from the rubbish and overgrown area outside. This gave me the impression that there was little to no proper housekeeping or maintenance taking place. Initially, I told myself, Hilda, it’s just for one evening, you can manage. But the more I looked around, the more uncomfortable I became. I ultimately decided that I could not stay there. I collected my belongings and left. The bathroom was also far from acceptable. Although it appeared relatively clean at first glance, there was visible black grime around the shower area, which raised serious concerns about how thoroughly the bathroom had actually been cleaned. I appreciate that refunds may be subject to your policies, but I would much rather lose £100 than spend a night in accommodation where I do not feel safe or comfortable. I would appreciate a response addressing these concerns

Property need refurbished

The room was really lovely, fully equipped, clean, and great value for money. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Habitación limpia, ubicación excelente, personal increíble

The property is not far from an underground station (5min by foot) and you can reach the center easily for about 20min (or 1h20 by foot) and the international train station in 30mim. The staff is really welcoming and friendly, they give great advice during your trip!

The room is a little old and needs some improvement but it’s fine if you only stay in to sleep!

la chambre qui ne correspondait pas du tout au descriptif, une chambre simple pour la prix d'une chambre double, des escaliers 50 marches pour aller à la chambre, pas d'eau chaude, pas d'isolation aux fenetres, le bruit de la rue , le bruit des voisins, car les murs sont très fins, le papier peint en mauvais état, pas de lumière près du lit, etc......

struttura sporca a dir poco, una situazione così non l’ho mai trovata, partendo dalla porta con la maniglia precaria che rischiava di cadere, pavimento sporco e pieno di polvere e altre cose, (dietro il letto anche) le foto non confondono con la struttura in nessun modo, le tende erano sporche in una maniera mai vista e la finestra tutta rotta, di notte con la pioggia si sentiva un continuo gocciolare di acqua dentro la camera e nessuna insonorizzazione( con il traffico e le sirene della notte risulta molto difficile dormire) continuo con il bagno anch’esso sporco, sprovvisto di asciugamani e senza un phon. struttura sprovvista di reception, quindi difficile comunicare pessima esperienza, da non considerare soprattutto per il costo della struttura.

We absolutely loved how welcoming, accommodating, and helpful everyone at Wembar Hotel was. Adam was an especially gracious host and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. We arrived earlier than the usual check-in time and were kindly allowed to check in early as our room was ready, which we really appreciated. The room was spotless, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We also really appreciated the room service after three days, with fresh towels, a cleaner room, and everything refreshed. It was such a lovely touch, especially during a longer stay. Another huge plus was being able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checking out. This was such a luxury for us as it meant we could enjoy the rest of our day in London without having to carry our luggage around or worry about it. The communication throughout our stay was also excellent.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about our stay! The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so there are a few areas that are still being worked on, but this wasn’t an issue for us at all. Adam was very open and forthcoming about the renovations, and we’re genuinely looking forward to coming back in the future and seeing all the improvements once they’re complete!

Was this the most luxurious place I’ve ever stayed at? No. Did it serve it purpose? Yes. It was clean, well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the location is great. I think it’s worth the price. Also shoutout to Adam for the wonderful customer service at check-in.

Very untidy from entry of the property (rugs were very dirty and bad odour) The room was fixed well as in the bed and little table but floor was sticky and dirty. Bathroom tiles had plenty of soap or shower gel all over, toilet seats very loose and falling off. A/C unit not working and the small fan which was there could barely give any good air as I couldn’t leave the window open due to it being the ground area close to the sidewalk and no burglar bars(windows were also very untidy) Pillows very flat, bed extra hard (mattress) Television not working. Everything advertised and the pictures were false and a lie.

Clean and quiet hotel, comfy bed and nice bathroom

Good communication with the owner who was very helpful. Clean and comfortable room. Walking distance from underground station. restaurants and the Empress Museum to see a show. We saw "Come Alive!".

La limpieza es muy mejorable.

Very close to Earl's Court Tube station. Adam was a great help with our luggage on arrival and to store after check out. Very basic and seems to be in infancy of accommadation but plenty of faith that Adam will increase its stocks.

Basement room wasn't great for the amount of luggage we had and does require some cosmetic upgrades

We had a really lovely stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient for exploring London. A special thank you to Adam, who was incredibly kind, helpful and always available whenever we needed anything. His hospitality really made our stay even more enjoyable. We were very happy with our experience and would definitely stay here again!

The property was secured and not far from where we were planning to visit. Good for short stays with a good competitive price. The communication was excellent and very pleasant.

The location doesn’t have parking for its customers. The room toilet had no windows to allow fresh air to flow, just an air extractor. Our Room was a bit small.

The manager was very helpful and was able to help sort a better room!

You get what you pay for and that is a comfortable bed, a private bathroom, TV a kettel with coffee and tea. Nice welcoming messages from htl staff and a personal meeting upon arrival with Adam. A very nice and honest web-site - read it before you make a reservation.

Well the room is very small. AC without remote control (I didn't ask for one). A bit complicated checking system! But as I write on the positive side "You get what you pay for"

The location was great for what I needed. The bedsheets and bathroom were clean.

I was in a basement room with no window, this wasn’t what was advertised. There was no air con working in the room. The stairs were creaking all throughout the night and I didn’t get any sleep due to it. The bed was dipped in the middle so I also woke up with a bad back.

Manager Adam was the best, most friendly staff member I've ever encountered in any hotel. He took great care of us and was very upfront about the pros and cons of staying there but we had an amazing stay with clean rooms and the great shower and super nice sleeping beds. And a tea machine in our room, which is more than most hotels do nowadays. Would definitely stay again. The room could use some improvement but that's a minor thing compared to the rest which was that we were excellently treated and had a perfect stay for the four days.

Some of the walls in the room could use some repair but they are busy renovating as I understand. Yes the building could use some renovation but everything was clean and working.

I liked the photos on Booking.com. Unfortunately, they didn’t reflect the actual room and hotel.

I am extremely disappointed with this hotel and the way they treat their customers. The room was very small and much smaller than it appeared in the photos. The photos on Booking.com did not reflect the actual room or its condition. The walls were dirty, the wallpaper was torn, and the shower area was in very poor condition, with things that looked like they were barely holding together. I booked a Deluxe room but was given a Standard room instead. The hotel admitted this was their mistake, but offered no refund, compensation, or any real solution. Customer service simply apologised and asked me to understand, without doing anything to resolve the situation. The whole hotel felt neglected and poorly maintained. I understand that technical problems can happen, but the huge difference between the advertised photos and the actual conditions is very concerning.

Adam the hotel manager customer service was on point . Considering he has only taken over running this hotel 2 weeks prior. He moved us to another room which was quieter and always checked in to see if there was anything we needed. Any problems with the room and he would get it sorted promptly.

The noise coming from the room next door on the first night where they brought people back to their room and the noise coming from the main road.

Das Personal war extrem freundlich. Reinigung alle 3 Tage war sehr sorgfälltig, und das zimmer hatte alles was man braucht. Klein aber fein!

Everything! It was quite dirty,we got dirty feet walking around the room. It was very poorly maintained, curtain rail was broken (Adam "manager" told us about it on arrival, and asked permission to fix it the same day, but we didn't want to, for privacy reasons), wallpaper was breaking, blood stains on the wall, walls dirty in general, shower door wasn't closing properly and so on. The "reception" area was a "stuff" dumping ground. It was unbearably hot inside the room, even though a fan was provided, it was about 10°c hotter than outside-knowing that weekend it was about 38°c outside.. Doorknob screws were loose, and 1 fell on the ground

This hotel sold me room with no window. This was not what I had booked, there was no information online that this room had no window. When I complained and said I can not spend too ands and nights nights in a room with no window, and that I would not have ever have decided to stay in a basement with no window, I asked for another room. Unfortunately they were fully booked and as there were no other rooms available, I had to find alternative accommodation. I requested a refund, and the agents for the hotel have just spun me on for weeks and weeks and keep saying that someone will get back to me and they have not. I feel completely missed by this hotel, and I would never ever expect to stay in a basement with no window. I am still waiting for my refund.

Il manager della struttura è stato molto cordiale e disponibile. Ha risolto una serie di problemi che avrebbero reso il soggiorno un incubo.

Non era disponibile l'aria condizionata, ma non solo la notte mi sveglio con lo split del condizionatore che sgocciola acqua sul comodino nel quale dormivo. Inoltre le dimensioni della camera sono veramente piccole, nonostante avessimo prenotato la Deluxe. Il bagno incommentabile, lavandino in versione mini, il doccino.non era possibile fissarlo, segni di usura evidenti.

Location convenient

Window didn’t lock on ground floor. Toilet roll clearly not replaced as glittery brown stain (make up I think) clearly on some of the paper.

Location of property is central to all your needs while staying in London…. The rooms are equipped with all you need based on the price you couldn’t ask for more… and if there is anything you need Adam the manager is more then happy to accommodate The manager and staff are a credit to this hotel If your looking for central no frills accommodation a get what you pay for hotel then this is the one If your expecting 5 star the ritz this ain’t for you So don’t be coming and winging to the staff

It was a typical cheap London hotel. If you have high expectations, I wouldn’t recommend choosing this hotel. The towels were dirty, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the room was tiny. It was difficult to move around with two people and a large suitcase.

Although the facilities do need maintenance, the manager and his team go above and beyond to provide you with a clean and comfortable place to stay. Excellent location for both buses and the Underground. The hotel is situated in a very expensive area of London; I’ve stayed at other places nearby, and if you’re on a tight budget, I am a witness that for an affordable option, this hotel is the best in the area.

Everything went perfectly from start to finish, and we genuinely have nothing negative to say. All the staff were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They always made us feel welcome and were happy to help with anything we needed. A special mention to Adam, the hotel manager, who was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive, welcoming and helpful, and really made a difference to our stay. You can tell that he genuinely cares about the hotel and its guests. We felt very comfortable during our entire stay and everything was great. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Wembar Hotel to anyone visiting London! ❤️

J’ai passé un très agréable séjour dans cet hôtel à Londres. Il est très bien situé, ce qui permet de profiter facilement des principaux endroits de la ville.J’ai particulièrement apprécié la propreté de l’hôtel ainsi que son emplacement idéal. Le personnel était également très chaleureux, accueillant et toujours agréable.

Je n’ai pas vraiment de point négatif à signaler concernant mon séjour. Tout s’est bien passé et l’expérience a été très satisfaisante.

Greta location, basic but that’s what you pay for. The WhatsApp contact was useful. Made check in simple and happy to accommodate.

Some work to be done on maintenance, I.e walls, carpets, communal area and quality of rooms. Tv reception is poor and I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the sheets as minor stains on them in places.

I really loved the place. Keep the window open, my issue was that I could t breathe well when the window is closed even though the ac was working but I had to wake up and open the window m. Other than whatever thing is nice. For value it’s nice . Please keeping mins you will need to use the windows specially in summer times
