Higher Moor Farm

Never been in a pod before. It was nice and contained. Very tidy and clean. Staff were very helpful and made you feel welcomed. All the amenities met my needs. Would definitely go again and would recommend. Not too out of the way either. Close to petrol stations and shopping stores.

Lovely welcome on arrival. The site is very well maintained, clean and tidy. The ‘pod’ I had was perfect for 1 person, everything I needed including a bench outside to make the most of good weather and designated parking space. Range of supermarkets nearby, and farm shop on site. Great location to explore the Jurassic Coast and and other areas in Dorset.

Only a minor issue for me but no plug near headboard so extension cable needed for some equipment.

Our 6th time at HMF - love the pods, staff are so warm and friendly, pods are immaculately clean and have everything you need - we always have a great, relaxing stay. Thanks Daniel and Laura for a fab time, see you again soon!

How compact the property was and its location.

Poorly maintained. The noise when putting the bed up was horrible. Door above microwave loose. One dinner plate and three side plates of various sizes. Screws falling out of the table (this was replaced). As this was described as a deluxe unit, not sure why, we felt it fell short of expectations. We did enquire about the larger units on site for September 2027 and were given a price that we felt reasonable until we were told it had to be paid for in full on booking. We felt that booking 12 months in advance a deposit should have been acceptable.

Very welcoming on arrival at check in. Very clean and comfortable. Brilliant location for us as we were visiting the Jurassic Coast.

All good apart from not enough cutlery or glasses.

Coming home

We stayed 4years ago and enjoyed our stay so we decided to return when coming to the area with other family members. Safe for children, helpful staff, good facilities.

Not a dislike but I ended up defrosting the freezer so that I could use it, the shower didn’t have a holder so that you can be hands free and shower, and noticed bedside lights need new bulbs. All easily rectified and didn’t have a negative impact on our stay.

My experience with High Moor Farm had been really bad. I mistakenly left one of my bag in the room cupboard. That bag had all my chargers ( 2 iPhones, 1 ipad, 1 Apple Watch, 1 fitbit, 1 extension lead with 4 usb ports and 2 plugs and one extension cord for 4 plugs). I’ve been calling every single day since I’ve checked out I gave the exact location of the bag in the pod I stayed but their reply is they haven’t found it and ask me call again. I spoke to various members of staff and I’m amazed that they can’t locate the bag in single room Pod. The simple answer of the missing bag is one of the members (including cleaners) stole it. So beware when you stay there and stay extra vigilant for your stuff!

The campsite was a perfect base the people running the site and the facilities where exceptional and we intend to make this a regular place to stay whenever we come back to the area next. The food trucks that came in on a Saturday and Sunday evening where also very good value and a welcome addition to the campsite.

The car barrier didn't recognise my car number plate but it was still extremely easy for me to get in by inputting the code so it wasn't really an issue.

10/10 faultless.

Everyone were helpful and the lodge was very clean

The kitchen had more equipment than I was expecting. e.g. I wasn't sure if it would have a toaster. The little balcony outside was lovely for sitting out on. The staff were exceptionally friendly and it was great that they arranged caterers on Saturday and Sunday evenings that we could order and buy from if we wished.

We didn't experience anything negative.

Communication was very poor

I loved the family pod. I was going to book a hotel because my dad is 89 but this was so much better. We were independent, surrounded by lovely countryside and lots of happy neighbours camping or also in pods. It's better if you have a car but the local bike rental will drop off bikes at the site. Neither me or my dad had stayed in a pod before and we will definitely stay again.

The location is perfect. Lots to do within a 30 minute drive. Great park and the staff are friendly.

The bed cover and sofa had stains on them. There was cobwebs near the curtain rails and dust in the glasses.

Nice camping space , good facilities, accomodation was fine, had some issues with TV but the team sorted replacing it with a different one

I was expecting a hob or oven to be able to cook basic easy meals for our kids as eating 3 meals out it gets very expensive

Por las fotos y por la descripción entendí que el pod tenía una cama y un sofá cama, que es lo que yo buscaba, para dormir dos personas individualmente. Pero resultó que la cama y el sofá cama eran lo mismo, o sea que tuvimos que dormir mi hermana y yo juntas y no era lo que habíamos pensado.

Decking area covered with leaves so a brush available would have been good as the leaves on decking was a large amount and slippery when wet.

Thankyou so much. Such a lovely little gem of a place only a few miles away from the beach. The staff were so kind and even agreed we could return to shower our children in the public toilet block on our way home from the beach on our final day after already checking out at 10am that morning

It’s very cosy

I love this campsite. I am a young 60 year old and every year since birth have holidayed at Durdle Door park originally tent camping with my parents and then with my family but over the watched it go from a field with a few caravans, mostly tents to become huge and too comercialised. Higher Moor is like Durdle Door in the 70’s and 80’s with the same charm, completely pesceful and even a retro 80’s games room with all the games i played as a child. Perfect!

The planning of the positioning of the small eadt firld side should have been positioed 90 degrees anti clockwise with parking in from as in todays heatwaves the lodges becoume uninhabitable from 11.00am until 7.00pm as the sun makes them hotter than hell inside diring that period of day.

Location facilities

The pods were modern and cosy, perfect for a weekend getaway. I particularly enjoyed the amount of lights, so you could switch between bright when needed or ‘low lights’ for the evening. Perfect for couples, or even families as there was a playground onsite also. We made use of the curry van that came round on Sunday night also, which we really enjoyed eating out on the patio. A blissful trip, excited to be back!

We absolutely loved our stay. If I were to be a bit picky, I would’ve liked if there was dish soap and a sponge so we could clean up a few dishes before we left, and a bin in the bathroom. The WiFi isn’t great also, however I didn’t expect it to be amazing in a campsite.

The studio cabin maybe should of been abit more cleaner the bathroom window needs fixing and maybe an extra plug sockets for the bed. The lights on the bed and the led lighting on top of bed need changing there very dull. Other than that a fantastic stay. Next time we will get 1of the bigger lodges.

The site was easy to get to and located just outside Weymouth, making it nice and quiet (spotted a hare on site on our last morning). Checking in was easy, and we used the postbox for checking out as we left early. The pod was clean, tidy, and everything we needed in fact we even had a box containing tea, coffee, milk, a cleaning cloth, sponge, washing up liquid and tea towel. The double bed was easy to raise and lower, giving access to a fold-away table. There was also a sofa which, could be converted to a bed, which is what we did but we also lifted the bunk mattress down to go on top of it. The decking outside the front of our pod was nice to sit at for meal times. If I came down this way in the future, I would stay here again.

Not much of a qripe really and if this is all I could come up with then it isn't too bad. Shame the tea towel was one of those that pushed water around rather than taking it off the plate.

Quiet location. Excellent value for money. Good base for exploring region.

Everything was amazing. From the staff to the vibe of the campsite. The pods were very clean and comfortable. Would love to stay again!

Stayed here a couple of times and extended my stay a few times. Fantastic place clean and comfy, Daniel is the perfect guy to get you booked in and give you any info you need. I recommend this place to all who fancy a relaxing few days away and I will return in the future.

It is very nice and quiet place to stay! Excellent location. Pod was clean, main bed very comfy.

Really practical accommodation on an exceptionally peaceful and beautifully maintained site. My pod was perfect for me and would have been ok for a couple or someone with a small child, (possibly a bit of a squeeze if there were two children). Loved that the bed folded up out of the way with no fuss to give masses of room during the day. It was all made much better for the glorious weather so I could fully utilise the outdoor space for meals. Lovely shower with great pressure. I would not hesitate to return.

Stayed in 'luxury' glamping pod. Extremely small and the bed, which is a sofa bed, was uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out of. The shower, while functional, was very small, and the doors and spaces by the shower tray were grubby. Maybe this is considered luxury in the camping world, but it was far from what I would consider luxury. Our shower broke, it was fixed the same day we reported it, however, the curtains we had left closed in an attempt to keep the heat out on the hottest day of the year were left open all day by maintenance. When we got back at 7pm, we opened all windows and doors and then sat in our car for over an hour before we could get in. Came home a day early.

The site was quiet, the lodge was clean & comfortable with everything I needed for a few nights self catering. Kitchen adequate for food preparation and cooking. Bed settee was made up on arrival and was comfortable for sleeping. Shower room excellent.

There was no separation of waste available, all in one bin. There was no instructions in the lodge to tell you what to do with the key on departure. There was no timetable as to when the shop was open.

Was very happy with the whole experience. Clean, tidy, great water pressure in shower, location on point. Friendly staff and very helpful.

WiFi could have been a little better and the table on the decking needs to be slightly bigger for a family four as it’s the only place to sit and eat. Provide 1 tea towel for the dishes. Apart from that everything was great.

This was a lovely stay very comfortable and was very clean, the staff was very polite and friendly especially Harry that offered to put our BBQ together for us great location will definitely come back and stay again

A pretty place with good views.

No outdoor dining facilities as advertised. Nowhere to sit outside when enjoying the recent good weather. The lights inside were faulty and kept flashing intermittently and no blinds or curtains in the bathroom for privacy.

No complaints

The communication prior to my arrival was excellent, I booked for 4 days initially but needed to arrive a day early, I spoke with Daniel ( fantastic guy ) by phone and he arranged the extra day at a great rate for me! On arrival I had a good reception and everything was explained to me from shop opening hours to barrier code. This place is excellent value for money, great quiet location, and staff exceptional. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway. Thank you to everyone.

It was very clean with a comfortable bed and settee. Compact and cosy with a lovely veranda that got the sun all afternoon and evening. Staff were very happy and pleasant.

Everything while we staying is fabulous. Facilities and lodge itself are amazing. I will come back with my camping friends.

The last day we had electric cutout. The reason is electrical substation which is not under their control, I understand. But, considering the level of services and the lodge numbers in camp site I think it’s better them to have electric generators on site to cover at least a couple of hours. The weather is not hot and if you stay with your child and have electrical cutout the weather conditions has changed very quickly. It was getting cold for a couple hours. There might be scenarios for the worst cases.
