Mehr als ausreichend an Obst und Gebäck Mehlspeisen und Capucchino im Kreise von Aldo und Rosa, die sehr herzlich unseren Aufenthalt begleiteten. eingenommen wurde das Frühstück in einer ehemaligen Höhlenwohnung gleich angrenzend vom Quartier.

We had a wonderful stay at this bed and breakfast within the old city! Perfect location. Our hosts Aldo, Rosa, and Gabriel were welcoming and available should we need anything. Aldo was kind and generous to pick us up at the bus station. The apartment is clean, and has everything you need. It’s spacious for 2-3 people and the beds were comfortable. Keep in mind the other bed is upstairs (narrow staircase). Not an issue for me but it would not have worked for my parent. We would definitely stay here again!

Aldo and Rosa were incredibly warm and hospitable. Aldo kindly picked us up and also drove us when we needed it, which we really appreciated. Rosa prepared an amazing homemade breakfast that was absolutely delicious. Matera is beautiful, and we also loved seeing so many little cats around. We had a lovely stay and felt very well looked after.

Our stay was a wonderful experience and a highlight of our trip! The warm hospitality of Aldo and Rosa and their grandson Gabriel was exceptional, and they made us feel like family! The location in the Sassi district is perfect. Aldo advised us regarding parking ahead of our arrival, and he met us at the parking garage and transported our family of four - and all of our luggage - to the property with ease! It made our arrival so simple and pleasant. The room was very spacious and comfortable for our family. The terrace was lovely and the perfect place to take in the views of the Sassi, especially in the evening when the lights made for a magical atmosphere. Breakfast was very generous and exceeded our expectations as well. Rosa and Aldo served a wide variety of fresh local cheeses and meats, homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, all finished with an excellent espresso or cappuccino as you wish. We particularly enjoyed the friendly conversations with our hosts, and we were treated like family throughout our stay. Matera itself is beautiful, and our visit was all the more special because of our stay here - both for the wonderful location and, even more so, the kindness and warmth of our hosts, Aldo and Rosa.

Sax Barisano is located perfectly in the middle of the Sassi. Breakfast is very good. Aldo and Rosa are very nice and helpful hosts.

We just got back from our trip to Italy to celebrate our anniversary. While we were there, we stayed in 5 different places, of which 4 were B&Bs. Just FYI, we spent weeks researching B&Bs in preparation for anniversary and birthday celebrations. It was the location and most of all the kind reviews that we read that convinced us to stay at Sassi Lucana Matera B&B. What we say is from our own experience, and our experience is based on owning our own B&B and traveling throughout Europe and Asia a number of times. I can say, "Aldo…he is the man." The service he provided us is without doubt top-tier, even far better than what our B&B provides. The accommodations were well thought out, and the fresh foods we had for breakfast were even superior to Whole Foods. Also, he and his grandson Gabriel even picked us up from the bus station. We later met his wife, who shares the same name as my wife. We're not sure if we'll ever make it back to Matera, but the hospitality Aldo showed us was as if we were related. And we now feel the same and hope to keep in touch from time to time.

Tutto .La stanza è spaziosa con tutti i confort necessari. L arredamento è curato e in stile tradizionale della terra . La posizione è ideale per raggiungere a piede la maggior parte delle attrazioni in pochi minuti. La struttura è perfetta , ma il cuore pulsante che rende l esperienza unica è la cordialità e disponibilità dei gestori. Il signor Aldo si è preso cura di noi come se fossimo di famiglia, suggerendoci oltre alle solite attrazioni un museo dello spazio (grande passione di nostro figlio)e offrendosi addirittura di accompagnarci!(piuttosto fuori dai sassi) La signora Rosa ti accoglie offrendoti una colazione ricca ,sia dolce che salata , facendoti sentire davvero a casa . Che dire?Non è facile trovare persone così cordiali e disponibili verso gli altri. Lo suggerisco vivamente! Grazie di tutto ❣️

Tutto!!! Partiamo dagli host: Sig. Aldo ci ha indicato dove parcheggiare fuori dai Sassi ed è venuto a prenderci con la sua auto. Ci ha raccontato di lui, della sua famiglia, ci ha parlato dei Sassi, ci ha portati in botteghe meravigliose e ci ha servito una colazione ricca di prodotti locali e caserecci, servita con sua moglie e il nipote con estrema gentilezza e cordialità. La Sig.ra Rosa è di una dolcezza commuovente, ha trattato i miei figli come fossero suoi nipoti. Ci hanno addirittura lasciato acqua e focacce per il viaggio. L'alloggio è nel cuore del sasso barisano, comodo per girare tra tutti i vicoletti. È fornito di tutto il necessario, anche il frigo era pieno di acqua, soft drinks e birre.

Un accueil aux petits oignons ! On espère revenir un jour ! La ville est magnifique, l’emplacement idéal et surtout Aldo et Rosa sont aux petits soins. Le petit-déjeuner est incroyable: straciatella, burrata, charcuterie, focaccia, gâteau maison… Un vrai coup de cœur de notre voyage !

They made us feel incredibly welcome and cared for, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, helping us with transportation, giving us thoughtful advice. Their hospitality felt so personal and sincere, it’s the kind of warmth and generosity that makes this trip truly memorable. The house itself has a cozy, homey feeling, the location is right in the heart of Sasso Barisano, with beautiful views and easy access to explore the Sassi. Being able to step outside and immediately immerse ourselves in the charm and history of Matera was wonderful. We would absolutely love to stay here again if we return to Matera, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay with hosts who truly care about their guests, this is the place.

La gentilezza e disponibilità degli host

Το κατάλυμα ήταν στο κέντρο της πόλης επομένως είχαμε πρόσβαση σε όλα εκτός από το αυτοκίνητο μας που έπρεπε να περπατήσουμε περίπου 10-15 λεπτά ανηφορικά για να φτάσουμε σε οποιοδήποτε σημείο μπορούσες να παρκάρεις. Αυτό όμως το περιμένεις όταν έχεις προτεραιότητα σου να μείνεις στο ιστορικό κέντρο και όχι αλλού. Μεγάλο υπέρ του καταλύματος ο κύριος Fabio, η σύζυγος του και ο εγκονος τους που μας περιποιούνταν στο πρωινό και κυρίως το παιδί μας και μας μετέφεραν κατά την άφιξη και αναχώρηση. Το σπίτι τους υπέροχο με έντονο προσωπικό χαρακτήρα που μας άρεσε επίσης πολύ!

Όλη την καλή εικόνα μέχρι την μέρα π θα φεύγαμε κατέστρεψε η κυρία που επιμελούνταν την καθαριότητα που 10:10πμ ενώ ηξερε ότι ετοιμαζόμασταν να φύγουμε άνοιξε τη πόρτα του δωματίου μας και έκανε κίνηση να μπει, δείχνοντας νευριασμένη το ρολόι και έπειτα καθόταν έξω από τη πόρτα μονολογώντας στα ιταλικά (μάλλον βρισιές)🤬. Τελικά από 10:00 φύγαμε 10:20 όπως έχει τύχει να κάνουμε αρκετές φορές κατά τις διακοπές μας χωρίς να μας δημιουργήσει κάποιος ένταση. Επίσης δυστυχώς δεν καθαρίζει καλά το κατάλυμακαι ελπίζω να το προσέξουν αυτό οι ιδιοκτήτες ωστε να πράξουν αναλόγως. Υπάρχουν πάρα πολλά σημεία του σπιτιού που δεν έχει επιμεληθεί καθόλου. Είναι κρίμα σε τόσο όμορφο σπίτι να γίνεται πρόχειρη δουλειά. Βάζω 9 με σεβασμό στους ιδιοκτήτες!

Appartamento molto molto bello e caratteristico, con tutto il necessario. I proprietari una disponibilità incredibile, sembrava di essere ospitati in casa loro. Gentili, dolci, ci ha spiegato tutto ciò che dovevamo sapere per girare almeno un minimo. Colazione fatta esclusivamente da loro, crostata, focacce, frutta km 0, davvero tanto buono qualsiasi cosa. Consiglio vivamente perché davvero il top di Matera!!

I felt the most welcome there. Everything was perfect, Aldo and Rose are the best hosts ever. Location is in the heart of Sassi, beautiful view through a balcony. Very clean and comfortable property. I would definitely stay there again.

Everything was excellent. The property was spotless and very comfortable. The location was perfect, close to all the main attractions while still being peaceful. There was so much we liked about this property. Firstly, the hosts Aldo and Rosa were among the loveliest people we have encountered on our trip. Aldo couldn't have done more to help us - he picked us up and dropped us off at the rental car office, he helped with our bags and told us everything we needed to know about the area. Aldo and Rosa were so lovely with our young daughter - the breakfasts we shared in their beautiful home were very special to us. The room itself has an amazing view from a wonderful terrace that looks straight up to the Duomo. There are lovely restaurants all around but it was very quiet and easy to walk into the centre. We loved exploring the streets of the sasso all around us.

Un’accoglienza straordinaria e calorosa! Sembrava di essere in famiglia. È stata la nostra prima volta a Matera e non avremmo potuto chiedere di meglio. Abbiamo trovato dei proprietari di una gentilezza e ospitalità uniche. Aldo è stato fantastico: prima ancora del nostro arrivo ci ha contattati per offrirci un passaggio dalla stazione alla struttura, e alla fine del soggiorno ci ha riaccompagnati in auto alla stazione dei treni. Un servizio davvero eccezionale! La posizione della struttura è perfetta, in pieno centro nei Sassi, circondata da bar, ristoranti e con una vista meravigliosa. Tutto è comodissimo. La camera era super accogliente e pulitissima, abbiamo riposato benissimo. Al mattino, la signora ci ha preparato una colazione ricchissima e deliziosa. È stata di una dolcezza e premura infinite, facendoci sentire coccolati proprio come da una nonna. Prima di partire abbiamo anche fatto una bellissima foto ricordo insieme. Consigliatissimo! Torneremo sicuramente. Grazie di cuore per aver reso il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile!

This is what Italian hospitality looks like. We were so well taken care of by the owner. He met us to show us where to park and drove us with all of our luggage to the sassi. He gave us all the tips about things to do. The accommodation was so sweet and in an amazing location walkable to everything. Breakfast was incredible- I just wish I didn't get full so I could have kept eating the amazing cheeses, salami, pastries, fruit, juice, cappuccino, you name it. I just wish I spoke better Italian to communicate a little better but we got by just fine. We really felt like part of the family.

Petit déjeuner hors du commun avec des produits régionaux et pâtisseries maison. il faut enfin souligner la gentillesse, la prévenance extrême d’Aldo et Rosa qui malgré un âge avancé se mettent en quatre pour vous assister jusqu’à vous trouver une place de parking gratuite dans la ville haute et vous assurer la navette à l’arrivée et au départ de la location. exceptionnel !

Ideaal gelegen in unieke historische Matera. Authentiek ingericht en comfortabel ingericht appartement, met super aardige verhuurders.

Ontbijt kon beter qua koffie, kaas en eieren (waren er niet).

De hele setting was gewoon geweldig en het appartement ligt op een toplocatie midden in de sassi. De eigenaars zijn ontzettend lieve mensen en zijn heel behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, zoveel keuze! Wij hebben de auto buiten de sassi geparkeerd en Aldo heeft ons opgehaald en teruggebracht. Super! Echt een aanrader als je naar Matera gaat! Naast het balkon vol mooie bloemen en planten zat een nestkast voor de torenvalk. Heel bijzonder om die van dichtbij te zien. Al met al een dikke 10 van ons.

The location was excellent - very near all things of interest. Had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts, although they spoke very little English, were very helpful and so kind.

We found it tricky coming downstairs during the night to reach the bathroom even though there was good lighting as that woke up the other partner.

Die Unterkunft im Herzen der Stadt Matera ist perfekt um von hier aus die Stadt und die nähere Umgebung mit den Felsenkirchen zu erkunden. Unser großzügiges Appartment war auf zwei Ebenen (Schlafbereich oben), das Bett war sehr bequem, Es gab eine kleine Küchenzeile und sogar eine Waschmaschine im großzügigen Badezimmer. Das Frühstück liess keine Wünsche offen. Von Italienischen Käsespezialitäten bis zu hausgemachtem Kuchen und Obst war alles geboten. Wir haben zwei Nächte in Matera verbracht und hatten eine unvergessliche Zeit bei Aldo und Rosa. Ihr Freundlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft haben unser Herz berührt. Nicht zu vergessen natürlich, daß Aldo uns von einem gut erreichbaren Parkhaus abgeholt und zur Unterkunft gefahren hat.

Wenn man in der Sassi von Matera eine Unterkunft sucht und kein Vermögen ausgeben möchte, ist man bei Sax Barisano genau richtig. Der Gastgeber Aldo bewirtschaftet eine mit original Sassi-Möbeln ausgestattete Unterkunft mitten in der Sassi. Über Kleinigkeiten schaut man bei dieser authentischer Unterkunft gern hinweg. Das Frühstück würde ich als betreutes Frühstück bezeichnen, bei dem so ungefähr alle Spezialitäten der Region, darunter 3 verschieden frische Fior di Latte (Mozarellas in verschiedenen Reifestufen) sehr liebevoll und persönlich von Aldo's Familie aufgefahren wurden. Das Bad war sehr modern und gehörte eindeutig zu den besseren Bädern auf unserer Italienreise.

Wenn jemand mal eine gute Tat vollbringen möchte, sollte er einen 10er Pack LED-Leuchtmittel mit gleicher Lichtfarbe mitbringen, um den Wildwuchs verschiedenster Beleuchtungen in der Wohnung zu beseitigen.

La cosa piu' bella del mio soggiorno a Matera sono stati i racconti del proprietario Aldo. Ogni oggetto dell'accogliente stanza con soppalco aveva una storia da raccontare, la sua gentilezza ha fatto il resto. Letto comodissimo, bagno impeccabile. Frigoriferino gia' ben fornito.

Tout était parfait. Aldo est venu à notre rencontre pour stationner et donner un lift! Emplacement central et petit déjeuner raffiné avec de bons produits du terroir! Merci

Es war ein toller Aufenthalt! Die Lage ist sehr gut im Matera. Unser Frühstück war super, Vielfalt und Qualität der Speisen, das Ambiente und die Atmosphäre der sehr liebenswürdigen Gastgeber. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und hochwertig ausgestattet, z.B. mit Einbauschränken. Die Krönung ist der große, üppig bepflanzte Balkon mit Blick auf die Kathedrale. Neben dem Transfer vom Parkplatz zur Unterkunft haben wir viele Tipps und Informationen sowie Informationsmaterial bekommen.

Alles war hervorragend

Vse kar so opisali drugi je bilo res. Bili smo navdušeni. Že v začetku nas je prišel iskat prijazen gospod in nas odpeljal do hotela, kjer smo prejeli prečudovit, čist apartma. Apartma je bil zares izjemen. Imel je vse od štedilnika, hladilnika, mikrovalovne pečice, kavomata, štirih postelj pa do prečudovite kopalnice z velikim tušom. Zajtrk je bil izjemen. Dobili smo foccacho, svež kruh, domačo pecivo, meso, sire ( mocarelo buffalo, ricotto, strachatelo), pestro izbiro marmelad in namazov ter melono. Zares bi pohvalili tudi odlično kavo in celotno izkušnjo. Zagotovo se še vračamo.

Nič vse je bilo odlično (10/10)

Tout d’abord les hôtes (Aldo et Rosa) sont des personnes incroyablement attentionnées, réactifs, prévenants, arrangeants et grâce à eux on passe un séjour comme si l’on faisait partie de la famille. Le logement correspondait parfaitement à nos attentes, localisation idéale au cœur du village historique avec une vue depuis la terrasse incroyable ! L’intérieur très confortable (tbien équipé) dans un appartement typique, on s’y sent à l’aise ! Le petit déjeuner… un vrai regal ! Fromages fruits / légumes frais charcuterie gâteau maison… très qualitatif et s’est l’occasion de tous se retrouver autour d’une grande table familiale avec nos hôtes et les autres clients.

Aldo és Rosa nagyon kedves házigazdák, Aldo még a buszmegállóba is kivitt minket az elutazásunk napján. Az apartman az óváros szívében található, tiszta, ízlésesen és igényesen berendezett. A finom, rusztikus olasz reggeli igazán autentikus élményt nyújtott. Nagyon ajánlom mindenkinek, ha Materában jár.

Mooie ligging, super vriendelijk onthaal door Aldo en Rose (soms iets té vriendelijk), heerlijk ontbijt, fijne breng-en haalservice! Kortom: ALLES

The hosts and location are absolutely fantastic, couldn’t ask for anymore from the hosts or the view ❤️ the breakfast was the best we had in Italy, so glad we booked here.

Nothing bad, it’s got so much character it’s fun to stay here.

Parece a casa da vovó, muuuuuito aconchegante. Confortável, agradável e próximo de tudo. Alan gentilíssimo e atencioso; Rosa é a nonna italiana simpaticíssima senpre com seu sorriso encantador.
