It was a wonderful stay. Sri Lankan hospitality at its best!

A beautiful villa hotel with a great location overlooking the ocean. The staff were exceptional and the food was delicious.

The pool was lovely but did get warm

Très belle villa privée à Tangalle, avec de très belles prestations. L’endroit est très propre, bien entretenu et vraiment agréable. Le personnel est aux petits soins, toujours attentif et très accueillant. La villa est bien située, proche de la ville tout en restant calme et à l’écart, et également à proximité de la plage. La piscine est très belle et la chambre spacieuse et confortable. Nous y avons très bien mangé et le petit-déjeuner était excellent. Ils ont également eu la gentillesse de nous laisser profiter de la piscine après le check-out, ce qui est une attention toujours très appréciable lorsqu’on voyage. Une très belle adresse à Tangalle, que nous recommandons sans hésiter.

Das Zimmer und die gesamte Anlage waren wunderschön. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen hat uns sehr geschmeckt. Der kleine Strand vor der Anlage sieht atemberaubend aus, auch wenn er nicht zum baden geeignet ist.

Uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen.

Just an incredibly comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The service was exceptional and the food out of this world. You can hear the ocean all the time and there are 2 swimming beaches 5 minutes away

Outstanding breakfast, beyond expectations. Ask for the pancakes and Sri Lankan omelette. The staff is amazing, catering to every guest and always available.

We stayed at Coco Tangalle for 3 nights and really loved our time here. We were in the King Coco room which had a wonderful terrace over the pool, the room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding, with many options to pick from and be made to order. The fruit platter was excellent and they made fresh juice as requested. We also had drinks and lunch here throughout our stay which was also of high quality. The service here was so friendly and attentive but also laid back. They cleaned the room twice a day which was handy.

Only two small points of feedback. A fridge in the room would be helpful and the shower didn't have much hot water pressure but that isn't unusual for an island holiday.

Das Frühstück war aus unserer Sicht sehr schlecht (so schlecht, das wir am zweiten Tag darauf verzichteten aber trotzdem bezahlen mussten - obwohl offen kommuniziert wieso verzichtet) und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut unpassend.

Alt. Ekstraordinær service fra veldig vennlig personell. Alle var hyggelige, hjelpsomme uansett forespørsel og veldig tilstede. Vi følte virkelig vi ble tatt godt vare på. Lokasjonen var nydelig. Eneste bittelille minus var at man ikke kan bade på stranda rett ved. Lite hotell med få rom, så veldig rolig og behagelig stemning. God mat.

Ingenting. Eneste relativt ubetydelige kommentar er at det med fordel kunne ha vært noen knagger på bad og rom så man kan henge ifra seg f.eks. badetøy til tørk, en skjorte ma har brukt, vesken sin etc. Dette er ikke en unik mangel - typisk er det for få knagger.

Coco's got magic, alright! Beyond the awesome location and stunning design, it's the staff that truly make it special. I stayed at their other property, The Last House, over a decade ago, and the team – Ananda and Dinuka – remembered us like we were family! Fast forward to now, and the service is even more impressive with Suresh who really took care of my family the enitre stay. They anticipate your needs, pay attention to the tiniest details, and make you feel like you've known them forever. We did not want to leave! 😊

Ein wunderbarer Ort! Wir wollten nur 1 Nacht bleiben und blieben am Ende 4 Nächte, weil wir uns so wohl gefühlt haben. Denuka und sein Team sind super nett und unterstützen in perönlicher Art bei allen Angelegenheiten, wie zB mit Ausflugstips. Der abendliche Zimmerservice ist toll; es riecht dann so schön im Zimmer. Der Koch ist so gut, dass wir jeden Abend dort gegessen haben und das bisher beste Essen unserer 1 Monatsreise durch Sri Lanka genossen haben. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Von dort kommt man per Tuktuk schnell zu tollen Stränden. Sollten wir je wieder nach Tangalle kommen, würden wir dort in jedem Fall wieder übernachten, essen und einfach den tollen Ort geniessen!

Beautiful unique hotel. We loved the collection of furniture and artwork. We had a look at some of the other rooms which were all different. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. Nice pool. Would happily stay here again.

Staff were incredible!

Das Personal ist absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Das Frühstück und Dinner (wenn man wollte) sind sehr gut. Wir wurden sogar gefragt, was wir gerne haben möchten. Als wir im Regen vom Ausflug zurückgekommen sind, haben sie mit Schirmen empfangen. Wenn man Ruhe sucht, können wir das Coco Tangalla nur empfehlen. Der Pool ist schön, der Strand unmittelbar vor dem Boutique-Hotel ist zum Schwimmen nicht geeignet. Am Abend wurde eine Duftlampe gegen die Mosquitos ins Zimmer gestellt und das Bett schön hergerichtet.

Es gab nichts. Das Essen ist für die Insel teurer, aber sehr gut und der Service ausgezeichnet.

I loved Coco because it was a small boutique hotel, once a family home that is now an intimate yet very private place to stay on the coast near Tangalle.. each room individually styled and exquisite. We had the Seaview room with balcony where we could sit and have tea or our gnt😉 the bathroom had a tree growing through the ceiling which we loved.. it’s certainly a place we’d come back to. The service is impeccable and the manager could not do anymore to help us with whatever we wanted.. all the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you want relaxed, peaceful stay in Tangalle. Of btw, the pool area was perfect with loungers and shade.

A fantastic hotel. Beautiful villa and rooms with a lovely garden and pool by the sea. Excellent breakfast and dinner, also for vegetarians. Staff is amazing - so attentive yet discreet. Thanks to Dinuka and the rest of the team! We spent four nights here and would love to come back.

Honestly one of the best places we have ever stayed. The property is stunning, extremely clean, very comfortable and a great location, but what really makes the experience is the staff. The people here are truly some of the kindest and most genuine we have come across, and the care and service is second to none. The food was absolutely delicious, and it felt good whilst traveling to have home cooked, nourishing, high quality meals. We can honestly not speak any higher of this place, and it is our mission to make it back here!

Ein kleines, wunderschönes Hotel mit direktem Strandzugang und tollem Poolblick – absolute Wohlfühlatmosphäre! Das Essen war sehr lecker, und auch auf individuelle Wünsche und Bedürfnisse wurde jederzeit eingegangen. Das Personal ist herausragend: unfassbar freundlich, aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und immer hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns so wohlgefühlt, dass wir unseren Aufenthalt sogar verlängert haben. Wir können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wish I had stayed longer here. I took so many pics of the interior and it will be how I style my future. I loved it here. The staff were friendly and the grilled prawns were the nicest I’ve had in a very long time. Absolutely beautiful food. The pool is great for a didn’t staring out at the ocean. My favourite place I stayed in Sri Lanka and I’m coming to the end of my trip. The town has such charm too when you walk along the beach. It’s very much worth the visit here!! Thank you for a great stay.

Expert and attentive service. Gorgeous private space on a wild beach. Fantastic food; poached egg was a dream.

We had an amazing time at Coco Tangalle - the staff is super friendly, food was amazing and the private balcony and outdoor bathroom in our room made this place truly special. When we had to leave very early for our transfer to Ella / Safari they prepared a little breakfast to go bag for us which we really appreciated. Definitely would come back here!

We loved our stay at coco tangalla. The staff was welcoming and kind and the location was amazing. The property is beautiful with a great pool and beautiful view of the beach (although you can’t swim there because of the rocks, but it’s great to watch crabs in the rock pools!) - food was very tasty (egg hoppers were especially good) and the room was comfortable and practical (not huge in itself but the bed was comfy and there was storage for our bags under the bed, and the bathroom was big). There was turndown service too which is always a nice touch. We’ll be back for sure!

It was amazing! The pool was clean, the whole place is lovely and a really nice aesthetic. It’s right on the beach, but unfortunately the waves are too big to swim there. However it’s still beautiful to watch the sunrise and take pictures.

If you are scared of bugs I wouldn’t recommend choosing the twin room as the bathroom was open. I think they also have rooms with closed bathrooms though!

This superb hotel is in a beautiful setting. You can walk through the gate straight onto the beach. The sea was quite rough during our stay so we couldn't swim but the pool is heavenly so there's no need to. The rooms were perfect, and ours had a large bath with tons of piping hot water available. The food was amazing. We ate here 2 of our 3 nights, and they amended the set menu to suit us. During our stay I had to spend a night in hospital and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They arranged transport and completely looked after us. I can't fault this hotel and if I ever return to Sri Lanka would definitely re visit. Thankyou

Gorgeous property with a private beach . The house is beautifully decorated- you feel as if you are staying in your own private villa . The staff are exceptionally good - discreet, friendly and very good at their jobs . The food is excellent and while the bedrooms are small , there are many communal areas so it doesn’t matter at all . Come here if you are looking for an authentic experience.

Dinner is offered at the hotel , but unlike lunch is a three course meal which didn’t suit us . The option to have one or two courses would be good .

Great hospitality, fab food - the prawns were especially delicious! Twice daily turn down service was really nice to have. We also used their laundry service which worked smoothly. My partner has a couple of food allergies and these were dealt with extremely well, and remembered throughout the stay. Fantastic colonial property which has been very tastefully renovated and decorated. Direct access to an untouched beach (not suitable for sunbathing but we really liked how natural it was). Room was also great. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

Nothing of note. Only very slight thing would be the lack of a kettle in the room (which with my cynical hat on may suggest that this is to generate more revenue from drink sales), however the quality of the drinks being provided was excellent with very good coffees, teas and juices - so wouldn’t mark it down for this

The quality of the offering was excellent from the facilities, staff through to the food was beyond my expectations. On site add-ons such as massage and laundry service was provided too, for a small 6 bedroomed hotel that was excellent. Super place for a total chill to savour Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. Thanks to Dinuka and team for an amazing stay, even the unexpected downpours could not dampen my spirits at Coco Tangalle. I travel to Sri Lanka often, this one is going to be a repeat.

Hard to find anything, maybe a chair in my bedroom would have been nice, however, there were so many other areas to sit and relax, including beautiful large day, it wasn't a problem. You can't swim just at the edge of the property, but you can walk along to where it is safe (without rocks).

The staff were very attentive and helpful, when told that we would be leaving early the following day, they ensured that staff were awake and present to help with our bags and also provided us with a pack lunch! All the food consumed was delicious (we stayed for the 3 course meal at the actual hotel and it was incredible value for money!) and we wish we had stayed longer then 1 night, the rooms were comfy and clean. The hotel is small (6 rooms) however it provides a more personal experience with staff and the facilities were amazing.

The staff are all amazing, keeping the place clean, beautiful and always attentive to help. Dinuka, the manager is absolutely professional, he really can make your stay easy… and all of them with a great smile. The pool by night is a must.

The colonial architecture was lovely and the pool by the sea was large and very nice. You could order food or a drink by the pool easily. Breakfast was good too.

Our bedroom looked onto a small corridor with the entrance to another room so we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. We also had two separate beds, which was not what we wanted as a couple. One can not swim at the beach in front of the hotel but there are many beautiful beaches nearby.

Everything about this place was great but it just felt a bit soulless. Can’t really fault anything - the staff and setting were fab, but it just felt as though we had happened upon a beautiful abandoned villa.

The hotel is amazing. I had one of my best nights of sleep in Sri Lanka, the room was huge and features a really comfortable bed. There are great amenities, such as the pool overlooking the ocean, which is perfect for chilling after a long day at the beach. Special mention to the friendly staff, always willing to help.

I ordered some food from the restaurant. The food was tasty, but sizes were small and slightly overpriced. That being said, breakfast was amazing.

the staff - they are all fantastic and look after you so well. the room was large and with a great covered terrace with views out to the pool and through the trees to the ocean. location was fantastic - right on the beach and within walking distance of the town. the food was absolutely amazing.

You can’t swim from the beach outside the Villa. My wife had a stomach upset when staying.

The service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering a level of comfort that far exceeded our expectations. The room and the hotel were outstanding, blending a charming colonial vibe with beautifully designed interiors. The lush garden, infinite pool, and direct access to the ocean added an extra layer of luxury to the experience. Everything was spotless, with our room cleaned twice daily, and the addition of aroma candles not only kept insects away but also enhanced the atmosphere. The location was fantastic—just a short walk to the city and the main beach, with other beaches and activities easily accessible by a quick Tuk Tuk ride. The breakfast was delicious, but what stood out most were the refreshing drinks, including fresh juices and smoothies, which we thoroughly enjoyed during our stay.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi occasionally dropped off and wasn’t the fastest, though this seemed to be a common issue everywhere we stayed in Sri Lanka.

The hotel is located behind a road so it's a bit noisy , in addition the common are of the hotel is very small and there is not a lot of space ti hange out.

Absolutely everything. The staff are great, property is just beautiful and I loved the location. Beach is rocky so unfortunately you can’t swim directly off the hotel beach and the rooms to the side aren’t large, but this doesn’t detract from the experience. Breakfast was great. We didn’t dine in for dinner as we wanted to try the local fish restaurant at the next beach.

We loved the peace and tranquility that Coco Tangalla made us feel. It is situated in a great location, with a beautiful pool area and beach access. The staff were wonderful and very generous, they made sure we were having the best time at all times. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tangalle and will definitely be back!

The location and place itself are really beautiful. We got a free upgrade on the room which was great and the room and bathroom itself were really nice. The staff was also really polite and helpful.

The furniture and equipment could have been kept in better condition (sun lounges, umbrellas, etc.). We also had a problem with cockroaches living in the curtains, which unfortunately was not so pleasant. For the price we paid, we definitely expected a little bit more than what we got.

Pool facilities were good. Welcoming staff and flexible checkout.

Location was great, short tuktuk to the main town or approx a 15 minute walk. 10 minute walk in the other direction to a beach where you could swim and a lovely seafood restaurant.

Our room was on the smaller side but perfect for a few nights.

This is a faboulous small hotel for anyone that appreciate beauty, quality and hostality. The villa is so Very nice and the staff is simply the best. The setting with the sea and a private beach is very calming. Food is fantastic! Breakfast the best we had! Highly recommend! You do not want to leave!

The building is renovated so the rooms are smallish but that’s okay as you don’t spend a lot of time in the room. The building backs out onto the beach so that was nice for a walk. The food was delicious, albeit dinner was absolutely overpriced for Sri Lanka.

From the moment we arrived at Coco we were treated as if we were living in a private residence. The staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish - never on top of you but always there if you wanted anything. The hotel is absolutely brilliant, room is great, the pool is great, the setting is so nice and peaceful - and you’re located so close to the town that you can walk to many places (although you would never feel like it when at Coco. On the day of our arrival it was my girlfriends birthday and to our surprise they had arranged for a birthday cake to be made from scratch for when we arrived back after our dinner. They also set the table for us with flowers and made this really special. We only booked 1 week before arrival and given there are only 4/5 rooms, I can’t believe we were lucky enough for there to have been room available. Perfect stay.

I read comments about the rooms being a little small depending on how long you were staying for. I can understand this, however it was no problem for us. We spent a very small amount of time in our room. Bathroom was also very spacious.

Great location by the beautiful very private but rocky beach. Delicious breakfast. Great service ! Very helpful and professional staff. Morning and evening room service. Very healing and relaxing sound of the ocean. Next time i will book it for more days !!
