Si respira l’aria di un luogo che sta andando verso la fine della sua storia. Molti servizi non sono disponibili o lo sono parzialmente . La palestra ad esempio è molto sporca (escrementi di roditori all’interno) e alcuni attrezzi sono inutilizzabili.

Great location on the laguna

Property lacks maintenance and is outdated, trash and construction materials laying everywhere on the sides of the property.

Fuyez cet établissement, c’est sale de partout sauf dans la chambre! Je suis chef d’entreprise je ne mets jamais de mauvais commentaire mais là c’est obligé, personnel horrible, mais surtout tout est sale! Le pire rapport qualité / prix de ma vie! C’est une honte! Seul point positif le lit et confortable et la chambre est bien!

Tout, sale de partout, regardez les photos, rapport qualité / prix catastrophique, le personnel est nul, aussi bien à l’accueil que les personnes du bar / restaurant, 15min pour avoir un verre d’eau, on est resté 45min au petit déjeuner aucune table n’a été débarrassé pendant ce temps, les coussins des transat sont sales, pas changer depuis de nombreuses années, la piscine soit disant privative, ok elle l’est mais tu lèves la tête ton voisin est avec toi! Après m’être plaint que tout était sale avec des photos, la personne a l’accueil me dit que j’aurais une compensation, je l’attends encore, jamais eu de retour, et ils savent très bien que leur hôtel est nul, à la fin la personne ne nous a même pas demandé comment ça s’est passé le séjour comme font absolument tous les hôtels!! Fuyez, louez dans le sud du lagoon, pas au nord la où y’a les bateaux et jet ski!

Non mi sono piaciute la colazione ne il servizio della colazione, e per essere un hotel luxury che si paga 500 euro a notte la colazione non era alla altezza , in pratica te portano un piatto con della frutta con un po di yogurt, puoi tu chiedono come ti fanno le uova , se volete più di due uova c’è un supplemento, per il acqua in bottiglie c’è un suplemento ,da bere café americano que si pides un expreso te traen el mismo café americano come si uno fossi cretino , para el pan se tenía que pedir varias veces

De vele (gratis) activiteiten, zoals kayak, padel, zwembad,… De mogelijkheid tot jetski. Het 24/24 gebruik van de gym. De rust aan de lagoon.

Geen vast patroon in de ontbijtformule. Aanbod op de menukaart kwam niet overeen met de werkelijkheid.

Staff was excellent. Especially the restaurant and concierge / check in staff. Food at restaurant was very tasty and restaurant facial g lagoon is beautiful.

Condition of landscaping and buildings were very poor. Needs a alot of maintenance of the pool and outdoor spaces need a lot of updating! Room is very musty and poorly lit . I expected a higher quality hotel at the price we paid!

Very relaxing, mostly a couples retreat but we came with kids and it was nice. Perfect place for swimming in the wonderful lagoon. Breakfast was good, eggs any style. We went for lunch and dinner outside of the hotel as the town is about 10 minutes away. Can recommend the hotel, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere very nice. Isak, the lifeguard was awesome with the kids. And Adrianna the yoga instructor was great.

L’emplacement et le côté nature est très sympathique ! L’hôtel propose des activités nautiques à faire sur la lagune.

L’entretien des extérieures, piscine laisse à désirer. Les matelas de piscine ne sont pas propre et cela ne donne pas envie de s’y poser.

Struttura molto particolare e curata, su una laguna meravigliosa. Camere splendide, pulite e molto moderne. Ristorante piacevole, forse troppo caro ma di buona qualità. Nel complesso davvero un soggiorno gradevole.

This was our second stay at MIA Bacalar, and it won’t be our last—our family is already planning a return visit for the Christmas holidays. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, consistently going above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast, which could be more varied and satisfying.

Muy lindo y con la laguna súper

El hotel es muy lindo com acceso privada a la Laguna, sin embargo, ya se nota un poco descuidado, donde hace falta mantenimiento, el servicio es lento aunque no haya gente y el personal es amable pero hay que estar pidiendo apoyo todo el tiempo, no se acercan ni ofrecen nada proactivamente. Tomamos un masaje en el spa y el baño olía horrible, no hay aromaterapia, medio sucias las regaderas. En fin, el lugar es muy bonito pero si no inyectan dinero mejor inyectarle también en servicio

We stayed at Mia hotel last week on a family trip. We choose Mia Bacalar over a house rental due to the location. It was very well situated and convenient. We had three suites for our family. Two of them with their own rooftop pool and the other one with a jacuzzi in the interior; right behind the pool with an amazing view to the lagoon. All of our suites were spotless. They have a huge and beautiful palapa that nest the resturant and bar. We had great cocktails during happy hour at a very reasonable price. We went out to town for dinner- 5 min from the hotel many options. The next morning our included American breakfast was outstanding and very sufficient - along with fresh fruit, eggs any style you choose. Staff was very attentive and kind- from everyone at reception to all the restaurant staff. Always with a smile. Thank you Mia Bacalar for providing such an amazing experience! Hasta la próxima :)

We loved this place. The natural surroundings are beautiful. The connection with nature makes it a wonderful quiet vacation place. The staff were always kind and helpful. Very friendly and efficient at their jobs. All in all it was a wonderful experience for us and would totally come back.

Rente habitación con alberca privada, la encontramos muy sucia y la reportamos, nunca fueron a darle mantenimiento, no la pudimos usar. No tenía caja fuerte, solicité una, quedaron de llevarla al día siguiente, nunca sucedió. El mini bar de la habitación no enfría, lo cambiaron por uno más grande. Se fue la señal de internet y TV, pregunté al recepcionista que empresa les daba el servicio de Internet y video y no supo responderme, afortunadamente apareció en ese momento la Gerente, le hice la misma pregunta y no sabía que empresa les daba el servicio de Internet. La alberca principal sucia y sumamente descuidada, la propiedad se ve triste, desatendida, urge darle mucho mantenimiento y cariño. El personal muy atento y con ganas de ayudar pero sin las herramientas necesarias

The location is great. The views, layout and design are beautiful. But the lunch & dinner staff service has suffered compared to just 2 years ago when we last visited.

There was sewer gas smell throughout the property; it smells like poop. Plumbing in units did not seem to be vented properly, every time we used the sink sewer odor would come into the room unit. The lunch & dinner staff service was rude, neglectful and unprofessional.

The property is nice, but many improvements need to been done for the price they charge to stay, expensive. Our room was very nice and clean, but AC gave a unpleasant smell, they offer aroma therapy fragrance but that lasted a little. Restaurant had great food, and servers are extremely nice, but very unorganized. I will not return.

El mantenimiento y servicio es pésimo, tuvimos un par de accidente uno de consecuencias graves. Uno en la zona de alberca donde las tablas qué la rodean están sueltas y mi hijo se cayó y la más grave una desatencion por parte de la Gerente y el servicio de mantenimiento qué permitió que entrará el agua a la habitación ocasionando un accidente el cual tendrá implicaciones jurídicas.

À la première arrivée à l’hôtel, on voit une hacienda traditionnelle, et bien entretenue. Nous avons séjourné deux jours dans cet établissement loin de tout en pensant trouver tranquillité et service de qualité. Malheureusement c’est avec une grande déception que nous avons vécu une mauvaise expérience malgré le prix de 500€/ nuit! - piscine non chauffée. - il faut appeler plusieurs fois pour avoir le nettoyage de chambre qui n’a pas été fait de la journée. - coup de fusil de chasse à tout heure de jour comme de nuit, c’est très surprenant. - aucun service à la piscine, les plats ne sont pas débarrassés, nous avons passé plus de deux heures au bord de la piscine sans que personne ne viennent pour nous prendre une commande. - l’hôtel refuse d’appliquer l’avantage membre silver de 20% sur les consommations - le petit déjeuner est une arnaque, j’ai pris l’option petit déjeuner pour 45€/ personnes, et l’hôtel impose un petit déjeuner de 410 pesos soit 20€, si on veut d’autres plats il faut payer!! - les prix pratiqués de repas sont vraiment très cher pour ce que c’est sans doute car il n’y a rien un alentours. J’ai demandé à parler au manager à la réception, ce n’était pas possible car il n’était pas disponible. Après avoir insisté, la personne à l’accueil m’a indiqué qu’il serait disponible l’après-midi de notre départ. Et donc comme nous sommes partis le matin je n’ai pas pu échanger avec lui. Enfin, je vous conseille de passer votre chemin, ça n’en vaut pas la peine.

Service and rooms were great! The problem was the restaurant….2 of 3 days okay for breakfast, last day everything was salty; awful for dinner, made 2 tries and regretted it. Angelica gave us a massage to my wife and I….very relaxing. Also great attention from Paco (lifeguard), he provided kayaks and paddle boards to use at the lake.

i dont like the hotel

It was the worst hotel we have ever did and certainly the worst in our tour in Mexico. First of all, the food at the restaurant was outrageous and the service so slow with barely waiters who speak English. We ended ordering food from the kids menu with simple cheese quesadillas. The tuna so called sashimi was disguting and thick as steak, the beef carpaccio was cooked and the soft shell crab tacos were actual crabs when we asked if it was crab meat. Our bad experience continues with jet ski that we waited for more than one hour. Then the swimming pool was dirty and there were many broken glasses all around it in the grass which could end up very badly for the guests. I complained and nothing was done. The worst was when we actually tried to have a conversation with the manager even on the phone and he was not reachable for more than two days. When we had some messages, his tone was so rude and even threatening. We never spoke face to face as he didn’t call back or arrive on time at the hotel before our departure. This is not a five stars hotel at all, and there are many nicer hotels at Bacalar. Don’t go there!

Terrible experience, we were food poisoned at the hotel restaurant the 1st night. We could not get in touch with a manager for 48h. When he finally got in touch he told us that we would get 30% off the food and beverage bill (50€….) and was very unpleasant. This is not a 5 stars. Food terrible, pool disgusting, service slow, rooms average. We also found a lot of glass around the pool.

The rooms and showers were the best part of the hotel. Lagoon view was also lovely.

The general upkeep and maintenance of the hotel is not acceptable when they are selling themselves as a luxury 5* hotel. The pool area and pontoon is scruffy with rotten decking and the pool not even filled up properly. The restaurant prices are expensive and the music was dire! For the price we paid we were disappointed.

Very private resort right on the lagoon. Beautiful and peaceful place, very relaxing. Clear Kayaks highlight of the experience. Jose Manual gave excellent service with a smile. very caring people work here. Excellent and fresh food. We will definitely be back soon.

Mia Hotels was a very good resort not the high end luxury property as they called themself but if I have a thing to return will be because the food!! The only one restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is absolutely delicious, very well presented and with elegance and variety. Rooms are good very comfortable and with some luxury details, the property in general definitely needs some attention, we did not use the pool but was not welcoming to swim there, the hotel was pretty empty, the area of the lagoon to swim is nice and pretty, but make sure you have repellent as there are lot of mosquitoes but A LOT! In general we spend a nice time there.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Overpriced. Terrible breakfasts. The hot water NEVER works and the staff pretend it's the first time it has happened. Poor service generally- with the restaurant staff almost fighting over your tips in front of you. Staff at The Reception are worst ever, including leaving you waiting to get in the gates for 5 minutes every time you return from a daytrip. This is my FIRST and ONLY bad review I've ever written on Tripadvisor - having travelled throughout Europe, Asia, Africa & America. If you read this, and book this hotel - I did my best for you!

The staff was very nice and did their best to make things work. Breakfast started at 8 and we managed to get an early breakfast ready at reception when we had to leave early for an activity.

This property is light ages away from a 5 stars. The structure is old and badly entertained. After five minutes of walking in our room our kids’ feet were black. We requested cleaning at 7am and the cleaner came at 3pm, while our kids were napping, so we had to turn him away. The swimming pool was half empty and extremely dirty. The breakfast included in the price of the room is not buffet, only a couple options available, we ended up having to pay extra every day. Service was rushing to get rid of everything on the table after our breakfasts, we felt to be kicked out while the restaurant was completlely empty. The pier to the lagoon was very nice but rickety with rusty nails and broken rails - very dangerous.

We didn’t like that the rooms are upstairs on a spiral staircase that is very narrow and slippery. We didn’t like the one the rooms had a key light in the bathroom not working and never replaced. We didn’t like that one of the rooms had issue accessing and had to go to the lobby several times to complain and we like that they offered free breakfast for one night as compensation ; we liked the spa facilities and the staff there. We also like tombs quality of the food at the restaurant.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Mía Bacalar. The staff were very kind and did their best to ensure we had a comfortable stay. I loved the clear kayaks that we were able to take out as early as we wished. The property was quiet and the food was delicious. Though we found it expensive, we still had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

La chica de la Recepción Teresa no atendió mal, solicitamos un taxi con ella, cuando anteriormente habíamos estado saliendo y siempre nos cantaban 80 pesos y cuando le pedimos el favor a ella, el taxi cobró 180 pesos, por órdenes de esta chica Teresa

The serivice throughout our stay was amazing. Manuel was very friendly and helpful to us. We had an amazing time at Mia Bacalar. The restaurant was excellent. I had the short rib, which was delicious. Moreover, the space was gorgeous. I love it

El hotel dice que es Luxury, sin embargo en el restaurant son amables pero tardan demasiado, en atenderte, en llevarte las bebidas, entiendo en que tarden en la preparación de alimentos. Pedí wave runner, me la querian dar el servicio mucho mas caro, de lo publicado en sus servicio, dijeron que lo revisarían y Ya nunca respondieron. Nos quedamos sin agua otro día. Pedimos room service y que volvieran por el servicio, solo dijeron que lo dejaramos afuera. Es un buen hotel pero muy caro para lo que es.

The hotel charged me twice, once before checking in and when checking in for almost double the actual amount. I have called, emailed and messaged them multiple times and they still haven’t fixed nor have they communicated with me.

Suites are nice and spacious Staff you can find different treatment, at the lobby Tania is very nice. Food at the restaurant is ok 3 out of 5, service can be better took longer than it should to get a drink or even for them to take the order, not lack of staff there was only two tables with 2 guests each and maybe 5 staff members, not the usual good service you expect in Mexico. Get your tours at the town, 1/2 price Wave runners not working Anyways, a great place to relax, we ended up dining in town where you have great options The hotel is 10 mins from town, you may find another option closer or in town for similar or better price

The room, the lagoon

Staff would leave dirty dishes outside room doors for more than 24 hrs. This attracted ants that would give nasty bites. It made it look filthy. The pool on our room was literally falling apart. The tiles are falling off. Kayaks and standup paddle boards are in serious need of maintenance or replacement. Some of you equipped could cause harm to visitors o be dangerous to use (I’m a certified kayaker, and I’m also certified for safety) Staff at the restaurant was very kind. Staff at reception was NOT. We were there during the solar eclipse weekend and the lady at the front desk decided to call me non stop at my room during the ring of fire of the eclipse. This was the hole point of our visit. And they didn’t seem to understand the importance of this.

The room was beautiful, and was well located on the like.

We were moved from our room after the first night due to planned works. The water stopped working for 4 hours one day. The staff were fairly abrasive. There were animal droppings left on the floor for a full day.

Muy bonito el hotel, pero les falta personal que atienda, su camino para ir a las habitaciones es empedrado y las maletas son difícil de llevar , no tuvimos ayuda para que nos llevaran las maletas al cuarto , tanto en la entrada como en la salida. Malas señalizaciones les falta un mapa para dirigirse

Staying here felt like a dream. Seamless blend of nature, seclusion and luxury. Very accommodating staff (Esp: Alex, Manuel and Carlos), and excellent food (Club Sandwich FTW). The lagoon was pristine and it is absolutely worthwhile to rent the jet-ski for an hour. Overall, I would highly recommend

We had booked here because it’s the only hotel with a pool, but in person the pool appeared unkept, was cold, and wasn’t inviting.

El lugar tiene un acceso muy bueno a la Laguna, las habitaciones espectaculares, el servicio de primera. Podrían mejorar los jardines

El lugar es muy lindo, sòlo que está abandonado, no tienen personal suficiente. Soplan las hojas sin levantarlas, se acumulan en la tierra y un viento y se llena todo de hojas mojadas. Les falta mucho personal. El check in una persona sola, llega etenia un problema un pasajero y ahi esperando hasta que lo resuelva.. Le tuve que pedir si me dejaba registrar, ridìculo. La alberca llena de hojas. El spa nadie atiende una sola persona. El gym sucio y feo. En mi habitaciòn no funcionaba el wifi, nada lo siento no pudieron hacer nada porque no tienen personal calificado. El precio es altísimo para lo que dan. Comí ahi por el chef que decían. Un pescado repleto de espinas casi sin carne y carìsimo. Fui al centro comì mil veces mejor por la mitad. Ademàs que tardaron 20 mins en venir a preguntar. Y 45 en traer la comida.

The property was very well maintained. Employees were continuously cleaning all throughout the day. The room was very clean as well and had a great air conditioner. The restaurant/bar was large and open with a great view of the lagoon. You have options of renting kayaks, paddleboards, or jetskis from there too. They have a couple of hammocks that sit on a dock overlooking the lagoon. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, a book, or just to take in the view. They did offer a complimentary yoga session that my wife and I both enjoyed.

Our hotel rooms balcony was rotted and unsafe in some spaces. I pushed on the wood softly with my finger and could feel that a little more pressure would have likely gone through the board. So we didn't really use the balcony for that reason. Would be nicer if the paddleboards & kayaks were available a little earlier in the morning for a sunrise outing.
