I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience I feel obligated to warn others. This was our first visit to both the resort and San Miguel, and what should have been a relaxing time with family turned into a frightening experience because of what appears to have been a serious safety issue. On a clear, sunny morning (with no wind or rain whatsoever, pictures are from two days after incident) the cable supporting one of the resorts massive overhead light fixtures suddenly snapped without warning. The fixture, which contained heavy metal star-shaped lights, fell directly onto our table. By pure luck, we had gotten up just minutes earlier to get breakfast. Had we still been sitting there, someone could have been seriously injured or worse. The falling fixture broke our phones. While we're grateful that no one was physically hurt, it's unsettling to think how close this came to becoming a tragedy on our first morning. What made the situation even more concerning was the resorts response. The broken light fixture remained on the ground in the exact same location for the rest of our stay. Even more alarming, there were numerous identical fixtures (hanging at least 20 to 30 feet overhead) still in place, and we never saw any effort to inspect, remove, or secure them to prevent another incident. It gave us little confidence that guest safety was being treated as a priority. We attempted to resolve the matter directly with the resort before leaving this review. The only compensation they offered was a complimentary night on a future stay. I declined and explained that I would never return to a resort that fails to take customer safety seriously after such a dangerous incident. Accidents can happen, but how a business responds speaks volumes. In this case, the lack of urgency, the failure to address an obvious ongoing hazard, and the dismissive resolution left us extremely disappointed. We were incredibly fortunate to walk away unharmed, but future guests may not be as lucky. I hope the resort takes immediate steps to inspect every overhead fixture and make guest safety its highest priority before someone is seriously injured.

Facilities, location. Beautiful hotel. Food at the restaurant was great. Excellent brunch.

A bit noisy is you are in the first floor next to the main corridor. You ca. hear the staff and other guests walking and talking.

Super noisy room, instead of rested we left tired, we reported the noise after the first night, nothing was done. My last afternoon there the pool was full of screaming kids not giving adults without kids a chance to relax. The gentleman completing our hotel check out seemed inconvenience by my presence, never smiled, never asked how my stay was, just gave me my total and that was it.

Like the town it’s in, this hotel is simply MAGICAL. The decor is eclectic and gorgeous — no corner is unadorned. The spa will change your life—I had a massage with Amelia at Feel Urban and I’ve never had such a relaxing ViP level experience. I had the best cocktail of my life at Barkam. But the best part is the SERVICE. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and warm! Daniel the concierge gave us so many wonderful tips that made our trip outstanding and made us feel at home. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

I reserved three rooms through my Amex platinum card for myself and three others. One room was shared with two double beds, one was the viento suite and the other was one with a private hot tub and access to the cabanas that are only available to some rooms. I liked how the room with double beds had a curtain to the glass bathroom, you could have privacy from the other person staying in the room. The other two did not. I personally had the viento suite. Very spacious, I like having a sitting area. I was traveling with my cousins and the other cousin who wanted their own room as well had the private hot tub room. This was great as you could adjust the temp of the jacuzzi to make it more cool on a warm day. The tub can only accommodate two just FYI. We also loved that this provided us access to the designated cabana areas as the other ones were taken by the afternoon when we would visit the pool. We loved the breakfast options including the buffet. We only ate at one other restaurant on property, I believe it’s called spice market, it was good and staff at both restaurants were very nice and accommodating. We also ordered food and drinks by the pool, the rib eye tacos were amazing. The other food was nice too but those were hands down the best ribeye tacos I’ve had. The pool wait staff was very kind too. The reasons I took one star off… While I loved my room, I happened to be there an evening of a wedding one of the nights. I did not feel comfortable having my awesome large window curtains open with guests being able to see me move about my room. I did not know they hosted weddings (my fault for not checking) but disappointed that my room was right next to it. The pool music is too much. I just want to relax, not a techno fan. I would prefer no music or very minimal, not blasting like I’m at a beach club on spring break in my teens or twenties. Also the pool closes at 8pm, which I think is very early. In the morning of my final day I went to the lobby to let them know I would like the 4pm checkout (this is guaranteed when booking through Amex platinum). I sat down and the woman asked how she could assist and I said I would like to check out of my rooms at 4 and before I could finish my sentence she said that she could not accommodate. I waited until she was done telling me that they were full, etc then explained I had 4pm guarantee and she said yes of course then. Not a huge deal but in the past the hotel will usually reach out and ask if I would like to utilize that or ask for room number if I request and see that it is guaranteed. Just a little service thing that could be improved. I did not park on property or use the spa there, so no info on that. If I was to go again, I would look into if they had a suite with the private hot tub/cabana access. Some rooms looked like they were lower like they did not have a view besides if their own private pool area, not sure how I would feel about that without full natural lighting being able to get into the room though.

Por mejorar, los desayunos son un poco demorados, y la ubicación es un poco alejada del centro a comparación de otros hoteles muy lindos de la zona. Queda a aproximadamente 15 minutos caminando. Que no está mal. Pero prefiero hoteles mas cercanos.

Definitivamente, lo mejor de la propiedad es el spa: es espectacular y el servicio es absolutamente magnífico. También quiero destacar como un gran acierto la presencia del restaurante Zibu, donde la cocina fue extraordinaria y el servicio, excelente.

Fue muy difícil contactar a la propiedad para coordinar servicios con el concierge previo a mi estancia lo que complicó bastante hacer planes con anticipación. Además, el baño (WC) tenía un olor persistente y muy desagradable, tipo migitorio, que no se solucionó pese a haberlo reportado y a la supuesta intervención de mantenimiento. Este tipo de situaciones resultan inaceptables. Por último, el servicio en general podría mejorar.

The entire hotel compound was huge and very beautiful. Our room was very comfortable. The staff was mostly friendly.

Hosting weddings and events seems a major business for this hotel. This is very unfortunate for the guests who want peace and rest at night like us. During our four-night stay, there was a wedding party on the 1st night and another event on the fourth. The wedding party was right underneath our window and lasted till 1 am. It was too loud to rest let alone sleeping so we had to move to a different room late at night. The room was quiet, but dark, cold and with horrible faucets which splashing water all over us, one of the faucets didn't have hot water. It was worse than our room but we didn't have a choice since we wanted to rest and sleep. We were able to move back to our original room on the 2nd day and had enjoyed two peaceful nights in our comfortable room without any party noise. Then there was another party on 4th night and its loudspeaker didn't end until 11:30pm，then the cleanup noise continued well after midnight. The noise of the event speaker started again the next morning around 7am. After spending 550+ USD per night, we are very unhappy with the whole experience.

Incredible properties. So clean, and gorgeous. The employees from checking in to turn down service take great care of you. The pool and gym are to notch. The restaruants and bars and great. The quality of the food, drinks and servive was incedible. The property is in a great location to walk and enjoy the beautiful city.

My husband could not navigate the stairs. We had to book another hotel and could not get a refund for any days and they had no rooms of the quality and size I had booked that did not involve several flights of stairs. No elevator.

Al llegar hubo una persona que nos recibio el auto y se preocupo por que estuviera todo bien, era la persona que desde que te bajas al hotel te recibe y es muy amable y atento. Las instalaciones son bonitas y nuevas. Fueron atentos al resolvernos un olvido

La persona que nos recibio en el check in a eso de las 11:30 pm fue poco amable y parecia fastidiada quiza es comun que si no eres gringo la cara le cambia, inclusive nos asigno una habitacion que no parecia la mejor pues estaba muy sofocante entre calor y humedad. Nos habian comentado que el horario del restaurante era hasta las 12:30 pm, acudimos a las 12:15 pm pero ya no quisieron ofrecernos el servicio El aire acondicionado de la habitacion parece no funcionar de forma adecuada pero decidimos quedarnos ahi por que ya era muy tarde y solo llegamos a dormir. Empiezan a tocar desde las 9 am para preguntar por servicio de limpieza.

El hotel y la ubicación son maravillosos. El desayuno pese al alto costo de la habitación no estaba incluido, por lo que no puedo valorarlo.

El costo de la habitación es considerablemente alto. Entonces uno espera más de la relación precio producto. La caja de seguridad no tenía batería cuando llegamos a la habitación.  No dejaron secador de pelo, lo comentamos en recepción, nos dijeron que nos fijáramos bien y efectivamente no había.   Tuvimos que llamar y pedirlo. Tuvimos que solicitar que nos reabastezcan las cápsulas de café porque no lo habían hecho. En un hotel como estos uno espera que haya servicio de apertura de cama. Y por último había una boda que se escuchaba mucho en la habitación.   Teníamos que levantarnos 5:30 a.m. porque nos teníamos que ir.   A las 22:58 llamamos para consultar cuando terminaría y nos dijeron que a las 23:00, pasadas las 24:00 seguía sonando la música. Por la boda algunos de los lugares de comida no funcionaban y cuando quisimos reservar (on line porque estábamos fuera) en un par no nos dejó, sin embargo al llegar al hotel había mesas disponibles.

Room cleaning could do a better job (eg forgot to bring new towels, refill water, etc). The view from my room was straight to a dixi toilet on an abandoned construction site, despite the fact that there were enough rooms available. Bath tub without hot water. Considering the high standard you would expect from a hotel like this one, it unfortunately did not do too well.

Mal funcionamiento del aire acondicionado. El destello del detector de humo no deja dormir, no debieron colocarlo frente a las camas. Faltan canchas deportivas.

Clean and organized

They use it for events and close restaurants to the guest without previous notice. Everything is too expensive m, not a good value for money. There was accident in our room were it was beating cleaned and the black out curtains were ripped out and instead of telling us and change ig rooms that said nothing.

Por ejemplo, tomamos un camastro que tenía las cortinas atadas y, al desatarlas, había polvo, telarañas y hasta una araña. Se ve que no es algo que hagan de rutina ni a lo que le pongan mucha antención. Esos detalles son importantes, aunque parezcan menores.

Great place

We recently stayed at your hotel and overall had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, and your staff was welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. It was truly a pleasure being there, and we would recommend your hotel to others. One of the main reasons we chose our particular room was for the private outdoor jacuzzi, as we were looking forward to relaxing in a private and peaceful setting. Unfortunately, on our second day, we had an unexpected and unsettling incident that affected how we felt about the room. A raccoon entered our room through the back door connected to the outdoor area. It startled both of us, and when I tried to scare it off, it stood on its hind legs and growled aggressively. After about five minutes, it finally exited, but not before knocking over several items and creating a great deal of stress. After this incident, we no longer felt comfortable using the outdoor jacuzzi or the patio area, which was one of the main features we were excited about. While we still had an overall positive experience at your hotel, this incident unfortunately impacted our comfort and enjoyment of the room we had specifically selected.

Excellent experience!

We were recently at the Live Aqua Hotel for a friend's wedding. We enjoyed our time immensely at this property. The layout of the hotel, and the food and dining options were superb! Only a couple issues with housekeeping (coffee cups - so, not a big deal) and the room (Bluetooth speaker wasn't working - again, not a big deal) but other than that, our stay was PERFECT! Thank you to the Live Aqua team for your attention and service. The whole wedding party mentioned a lot how much they loved the hotel. Will definitely come back again to relax and enjoy the rest of the hotel and the rest of the LOVELY CITY! Highly recommend!

Excellent staff, great service, spacious comfortable rooms and beds! The pool is fantastic and a great breakfast service. This hotel is just a fantastic place to stay in San Miguel. Easy walk to town and perfect place to relax and enjoy food and drink by the pool!!!

Gorgeous place. Staff were nice and try to be accommodating even tough mostly of the time either the forgot or didn't solve the issue. Buffet breakfast is great and convenient. Our room was located in a zone of the hotel that smells like sewer 24/7, also they were having some type of conference and they did a couple of parties above and near to our bedroom which was annoying. Our Jacuzzi was malfunctioning and they came to "fixed", but they did not do a thing, so that was also annoying since we got this type of room because the Jacuzzi. Bed was comfy, shower a big plus. Gym a little small and basic for such huge complex. Pool was cold.

Beautiful hotel with modern amenities. The residences are spacious with the most comfortable beds. Every member of the staff were so welcoming, kind and eager to help in any way. This place is great! Everything you could want or need. Very relaxing. Good food. Good service (but a little slow for many Americans...get used to it in Mexico). The bathroom design is a little weird...offers limited privacy. The lighting in the rooms could be more functional. Beds very comfy! Staff very professional. Location is walking distance from almost anything in Centro area including Fabrica Aurora. Would definitely stay here again.

Extraordinary

Excellent stay for my birthday. The staff is very nice and the property is gorgeous. Lots of amenities and they are very accommodating with my schedule. I ordered room service breakfast and my coffee came pipping hot. Thats how i know they know what they're doing. I would stay here again.
