Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Absolutely beautiful resort. So much to do for the whole family. Food options were great. Staff was amazing. We were truly sad to leave.
No bad review from us.
Breakfast buffet was subpar. Pancakes where hard around the edges from sitting out, the pastries were a little stale too. Not much selection for eggs, eggs benedict was awful.
The indoor pool was not as clean as it should be for a high end resort. The bottom of the zero walk in area had slimy, slick spots the kids kept slipping on and you could see grime on the tiles around the edge of the pool just above the water line. Expected cleaner pools.
It’s a beautiful place and huge, room was nice and spacious. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
It’s very busy, like almost too crowded. We had dinner at the spots bar and it was terrible where we almost thought we would be sick with food poisoning. Drove to get food, don’t eat the overpriced awful food.
Great location , room was very nice with 2 large windows . Close to the airport.
Amazing facility! Great places to eat and extremely clean!

I wanted to highlight the valet and porter services. At check out , these men and women were moving in a systematic, organized, and most importantly expeditious manner. The gentleman, Brandon and Jalen as well as the Valet, Michael David And Paulo, were helpful at securing my luggage, protecting my vehicle throughout my stay and helping me greatly in my departure. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is wanting a total experience and great location. Thank you staff of the Gaylord Rockies.
Be ware of substandard customer for what is proclaimed to be a 5 Star experience. Front desk was overwhelmed. Communications were via phone (reservation), while checking in, and after checkout was horrible. Staff’s guidance about my stay and billing was inconsistent with final billing. Billing inquiries appear to be a 3rd Party vs Marriott. My inquiry is going on 11 days without any clarification to my last round of questions. Not a 5 star customer service.
We enjoyed the hotel, and the pools. We had lunch at the grain something restaurant. The pizza was very good. The service was good.
We had dinner at the cooper table it was horrible. We spent over $100 with tip and ate very little of our dinner. The breakfast croissant from the market was not good. The parking fee is ridiculous, we paid over $550 to stay at the hotel and ended up paying $51 for parking. When we got to the hotel we were told that the outside pool areas would be closed for a private event starting at 3.That was extremely disappointing since we were not informed of this when making the reservation.
Pool and restaurants are a major bonus.
Staff was rude and uninterested in helping guests.
The pool was nice
I was very disappointed with my experience. It felt like none of the staff were on the same page. I asked multiple employees—including the front desk, pool staff, and restaurant staff—about the local resident card, and I kept getting sent back and forth between departments. No one seemed to know anything, and I never received one. It was frustrating having to run around without getting any answers. Later that evening, we went to Rockies Bar & Grill to order dessert to take back to our room, and we experienced the same issue. The hostess told us to order at the bar, but when we went there, the bartender told my husband he couldn't order from that spot and had to go somewhere else. It was confusing, disappointing, and honestly embarrassing. We ended up leaving without ordering anything. When we asked the pool hostess about the local resident discount card, he gave us a strange look and said it didn't exist, which only added to the confusion since other staff had told us something different. The restaurants throughout the resort were extremely expensive, and unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the price. We were hoping to find a casual place with reasonably priced finger foods or snacks, but there really weren't many affordable options. Parking was another disappointment. Charging $33 per day for self-parking is excessive, especially when you're already paying resort rates. We also expected to see the DC Super Hero experiences as advertised, but we didn't see any characters during our stay. Nearly every activity required an additional fee, and the prices were much higher than expected. Aside from the pool, there wasn't much else to do. We were also surprised there weren't more indoor shops or attractions to explore. Overall, the resort itself is beautiful, and the pool was the highlight of our stay.
We had a great week at the Gaylord of The Rockies. Room was very nice and spacious. Hotel staff were excellent. So much to do here and so much to see. Close to the airport as well. Nice to sit out by the multiple fire pits they have going and relax with the view of the Rocky Mountains.
I had a very disappointing experience with the Gaylord Rockies Resort. After my stay, I discovered that I had been charged twice. I immediately submitted a refund inquiry, but despite waiting for a response, I have never heard back from anyone. Every time I call customer service, I'm transferred to the accounting department, where no one answers the phone or returns my calls. The lack of communication and customer service has been extremely frustrating. Mistakes can happen, but ignoring customers who are trying to resolve a billing issue is unacceptable—especially for a resort of this caliber. I expected much better service from a hotel with Gaylord's reputation. If you're staying here, I recommend carefully reviewing your bill and keeping a close eye on your credit card charges. I hope the management takes customer concerns more seriously and improves its response to billing disputes.
I was at this location for an event held here. The charges seem pretty straightforward: room, room tax, city fees & taxes, state taxes...BUT...they charged me for both Valet and Self-Park when I only used the discounted self-park arranged my the event organizers. Wowza! These folks really want their money!!!
What a great property! Platinum Elite review. Check in was very easy, Ivana was super friendly and welcoming, answered all of our questions and even gave us some helpful tips! We were able to get early check in which was a nice bonus. The room was spacious and clean, housekeeping service was timely. The indoor pool was great for the kids, we went daily, they have life vests for little kids, it’s heated and 2 indoor water slides. The outdoor pool is also very nice, has a smaller slide and infinity spillover feature. The lazy river is quite long, and even at its busiest, we never had trouble finding tubes to get in. We dined at many of the restaurants on site, most were excellent, however unfortunately the Steak House Old Hickory fell short on both service and food expectations. Housekeeping was adequate, we would leave for daytime activities. By the time we came back the room was always cleaned. Some of the restaurants will give you a s’mores kit if you have dinner there so be sure to ask. There are many fire pits around the property always a place to sit by one and relax. Plenty of lawn games and space for kids to run around in the evenings outside. Sunset with the mountains in the backdrop is spectacular. I would definitely at least plan one evening to make sure you see it. Airport is very close maybe 20 minutes. We rented a car from the airport Hertz, parking at the hotel was easy and never had to spend too much time trying to find a spot. One suggestion if you plan to spend a lot of time outside in the evenings is it can get breezy and chilly so bring a light sweater for adults and kids even a blanket for the little ones if you plan to sit out by the fire pits.
This was my fourth time staying at the Gaylord, and unfortunately, this visit was by far my most disappointing. I had noticed some changes during my last stay, but this experience was on a completely different level. We booked the largest suite, paying approximately $900 per night, only to discover that it had just one window. The living room also had a sloped wall that made it feel more like an attic than a luxury suite. For a suite at that price point, it was not at all what I expected. I called the front desk and spoke with Alex, explaining that I am very claustrophobic and needed a room with more natural light and more than one window. I was told the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing she could do. I then went to the front desk and spoke with Rania (I may have her name misspelled), who called Alex. During their conversation, she turned away from me, and I was told Alex couldn't come out to speak with me but would call me instead. When she did, I was again told there were no available rooms. What bothered me most was that no one seemed interested in finding another solution. Even if another suite wasn't available, I was never offered the option of downgrading to a room with more windows so that I could at least be comfortable. It wasn't until the day before we were scheduled to leave that I spoke with Brent, who was wonderful. He listened, understood my concerns, and was able to find us another room. His professionalism and willingness to help made a huge difference, and I truly appreciated him. I want to be fair and acknowledge that some of the staff were amazing. The employees at the FedEx Office were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The pool wait staff were also wonderful—attentive, personable, and exactly the type of service I remembered from my previous stays. Brent also deserves recognition for actually listening and trying to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, that level of hospitality was not consistent throughout the property, and I simply did not feel welcome this time. We also had multiple issues with food service. At the sports bar, we waited approximately 30 minutes for our meal, only for the food to arrive cold. We sent it back and then waited another 30 minutes for it to be remade. We also ordered coffee and breakfast from the Starbucks inside the Gaylord. Our order was incorrect, and the food was overcooked, so we had to take it back and have it remade as well. I understand that mistakes happen, but when problem after problem occurs during the same stay, it becomes difficult to overlook. As a business owner, I believe the way you make your customers feel matters. When someone brings a concern to you, especially a returning customer, they should feel heard and valued—not dismissed. When I first stayed at the Gaylord, I loved it so much that I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else. Over the years, I've brought my family here, brought clients here, and recommended the property because I genuinely enjoyed the experience. That is why this stay was so disappointing. What made it even more disappointing was what happened after I submitted my hotel review. After taking the time to explain everything that occurred, I received what appeared to be an automated response essentially saying they were sorry I had that experience and hoped my next stay would be better. That response said a lot to me. After paying approximately $900 a night and experiencing this level of service, I expected more than a generic response and a hope that "next time will be better." At this price point, guests shouldn't have to hope their next experience will be better. The experience should reflect the level of service and hospitality that a luxury property promises. Unfortunately, after this stay and the response that followed, I can't simply assume there will be a "next time." I truly loved the Gaylord, which is why I continued returning and bringing other people with me. But loyalty has to go both ways. This experience has changed the way I feel about the property, and for the first time since I began staying here, I am actively looking at other options.
We had an excellent experience, but especially with our housekeeper SOPHIA LOPEZ. She was very professional, friendly, and really made guests feel at home.
Fun place to take the Family the kids can run around. The pool is fun with the waterslides, lazy river and hot tubs. Lots of restaurants to pick from don’t always need to make a reservation.
Need more places to get coffee and breakfast in the morning are fast. Checked in for cabana none of them seems like they were in a hurry to check us into it. Need a different option for getting drinks at the pool. I did not want to carry my drivers license around, but could not get a drink unless I had it with me. The rain came and had to leave the cabana. We were not able to go back to the pool, but still had to pay for the cabana.

The property throughout was clean and well maintained. I liked the Waterpark area.
Overpriced
Stayed here for a business conference. The conference center is great. A grand hotel with lots to do, places to eat, a great spa and workout room. The rooms are nice and clean. Several restaurants and a bar centrally located. The spa is amazing. The workout facilities is an actual workout room with lots of cardio equipment, free weights and machines. The pool is large with indoor and outdoor slides and a lazy river. We didn’t bring kids but the kids there seemed to enjoy all the pool time. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but there’s so much to do in the hotel you don’t really have to leave.
This was our first time visiting Gaylord Rockies Resort in Aurora, CO, where my family and I attended the Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat. The location is stunning, full of beautiful views, and the property is impeccably groomed and clean throughout. From the moment we arrived, the luggage staff were helpful, and the front desk team was incredibly accommodating — the manager even arranged connecting rooms for us on the spot. The rooms themselves were huge and comfortable. We stayed for the full 7-day retreat, and the food was absolute perfection. Even my dad, who usually won't eat out, thoroughly enjoyed every meal, and the variety was fantastic. The property is spacious, kept spotless, and well maintained at all times of day. Beyond the practical comforts, the whole atmosphere added so much to the retreat itself — peaceful, restorative, and exactly what we needed for a week of reflection and growth. We're already looking forward to coming back.
Excellent hotel. Clean, new, good restaurants, swimming pool, etc
The price is a little bit expensive
The amenities are nice however with the swimming, you only get one bracelet the entire stay, and if you lose it, it will not be replaced the bracelets for swimming with young kids and sensory issues. You need to take them off so very hard to keep that one bracelet your entire day just to be able to swim.
All of the extra charges after checkout taxes are insane and did not like the swim bracelets
I stayed here last year and the year before during the thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Now, last year when we got rooms for my parents for my dad's birthday (around thanksgiving), the experience was alright. I must say the rooms are pretty basic.. you can get the same looking rooms at Hyatt and Westin and whatnot. The only best part of this hotel is the indoor and outdoor pools and the many restaurants they have available to choose from. The problem though, was the year before. The year before, I had booked two rooms for my sisters and I to stay. I booked one room and the other I paid for upon arrival. The front desk lady that was helping me, ended up charging me $1000 for EACH room’s DEPOSIT. I had asked for a receipt which I was denied because I was told I'd receive it after checkout (I never did). I was so livid and so angry because I had called ahead of time and was told it would be up to $500 max for each room. Our rooms were so basic yet so expensive! No breakfast included or anything but I guess it was the price for the holidays. Since I had already gotten everyone there with me just waiting for rooms, I paid it anyways. Now mind you, I paid it in cash because the lady helping us claimed that she couldn't wait a few minutes for me to make a deposit and pay on card. I tried to ignore it and just enjoy our two days before Christmas here. We ended up extending our rooms for one more day because the girls were enjoying the restaurants and pool so much. Anyways, after extending my room and only paying about $500 extra for EACH room for another days DEPOSIT, I made sure I used a card. I had asked her why the night before, I had to pay $1000. She looked at me confused and kinda shocked. Mind you, the rooms are about $1000 a night already. She told me that when she looked up my reservation, it only showed that I paid $500. Remember, I only paid in cash. She had told me if I had proof of it on my card statement, I can dispute it. I then explain the situation to her in which she ended up taking me to her bosses office. She was much more kind and helpful compared to the lady that helped me the night before. I spoke to the boss who assured me he'd look into it and reach out to me once everything is completed. I go about my day again and tried not to be too disappointed and enjoy my last day before checkout. The next day was checkout day. I go downstairs and meet the same lady that was very kind and helpful and asked her if she'd be able to help me speak with her boss again. I go to speak with him and he had told me that because I paid with cash and had no proof, there was nothing that could be done. He just looked fed up and tired when speaking to me. He printed out the receipts they had on their end and showed me I only paid $500 deposit for each room per night. I was sooooo disappointed. I spend $3k in total for the deposits for 2 rooms for 2 nights. They have cameras at the front desk. They also have cameras BEHIND the front desk over the cashiers heads that can very well show what their workers are doing. I left upset at the entire situation and how it was handled. It was Christmas Day though and I wasn't trying to ruin my family's Christmas trying to start trouble at this hotel. I never got compensation, an apology AND MY DEPOSITS! We left the room clean and organized with nothing damaged or stained. This is why I still remain bothered. Anyways.. the year after, I only ended up getting rooms for thanksgiving to see if they'd charge me any different. They did. Deposit was NEVER $1k a night. And I actually got my deposit after the stay. Regardless, I will never be staying here again and encourage everyone else to spend their money somewhere better. If you'd like to enjoy the restaurants at this hotel, you do not need a room. Same with the pool! You can just get a day pass! Do not waste your money here and cheat yourself the way I did.
Felt very all-inclusive. Everything you needed to relax was at the Gaylord Resort.
The room coffee was horrible. At this level of resort it is important that the most important start of the day begins with a great coffee. The coffee experience was very one or two-star level. Replace the low grade, one cup, cheap coffee and maker. It was the worst part of the experience.
Terrible customer service and awful conference hotel. When I checked in, I was told I would have to move the next night, despite having a reservation. They needed my exact room (in a massive hotel) for another group. This meant I either had to move at 6 am or miss part of the conference I was working at. I talked to multiple front desk people who were rude and unwilling to help. It’s clear the problem starts at the top at this facility-every employee I encountered was rude except for a single bellhop whose name I should have gotten as the only kind person. I asked for a cart to make this room change they were requiring and the other two bellhops literally laughed. Is it not your job to have these available and at the very least let a guest you are requiring to move use one? Conference and hotel food is never good but this was next level nasty. Both at the conference faculty and in the restaurants. They let the water in the conference center get to 0 at multiple points. Conference organizers beware, this is a bad property.
First time staying here. We came into town for a lacrosse tournament and could only get 1 night due to it being sold out following night. It was so great for the kids. Lazy river, water slides, hot tub, pool, great pool food, basketball courts, putt course, etc. They got us into a room early, which was so nice. Had no issues with service. The A/C worked great, nice shower, etc. We could have stayed for a week. This is a MASSIVE property that caters to groups, but we had no issues with it feeling crowded. They also have a HUGE sports bar and we were able to watch the Spurs v Knicks game. Food was slow but it was very busy, and when we got it, it was very good. Pancakes at breakfast were also very good. They have a full market with a Starbucks where you can get treats and snacks. Overall, just a nice stay. Would stay again.
We recently stayed at Gaylord Rockies and had a mostly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the valet service was excellent, and our room was great. The highlight of our stay was the incredible service we received from several team members. The check-in attendant, I believe her name was Ivana? (I wish I had written it down!), was absolutely amazing. She was so sweet, welcoming, helpful, and made us feel valued right from the start. Her kindness set the tone for our stay. We also spent an entire day at the pool with our party and ordered quite a bit of food and drinks. Our pool server was friendly, patient, and attentive throughout the day. The food and service were fantastic, and we enjoyed the lazy river. Unfortunately, our experience at the Topgolf Swing Suite was extremely disappointing. We came at 4:00, the simulator wasn't working. Three different employees attempted to restart it, but it still would not function. Since there was another reservation scheduled after ours, we only had a one-hour window, and most of that time was spent trying to get the simulator working. Eventually, manager Bree came over and said, "Don't worry, we won't charge you." While I appreciate that we weren't charged for something we couldn't use, her approach felt dismissive and rude. It came across as though she was doing us a favor, when in reality the equipment wasn't functioning and we never got the experience we had paid for. When I expressed my frustration and asked why we would be expected to pay for a service we couldn't use, she seemed annoyed and responded by asking, "Well, what would make you happy?" The interaction left me feeling unheard and frustrated. Thankfully, our server, who I believe was named Becka, completely turned the situation around. She was kind, respectful, and genuinely apologetic about what had happened. She treated us with empathy and professionalism and even spoke to a general manager, who was able to remove my drink and appetizer from the bill.....the only items we had managed to order while dealing with the simulator issues. I had already spent several hundred dollars at the resort throughout the day. I did not appreciate the way Bree spoke to our party during that interaction. It left us feeling uncomfortable and frustrated. Afterward, we decided to leave the hotel and enjoy dinner elsewhere. We ended up having a great evening, but it took some time to shake off the negative atmosphere that the interaction had created during what had otherwise been a wonderful day. Thank you to Becka for speaking to us with kindness and respect and for providing the level of customer service we expected. While much of our stay was excellent, the handling of the Topgolf issue by management was disappointing and left a negative impression on an otherwise enjoyable visit.
Bed Bug PSA: I wanted to put this PSA out there for anyone staying at Gaylord Rockies. My family and I started our mini summer vacay there on Saturday May 30 and we woke up to bed bugs in our room Sunday morning. I have been a loyal Marriott member, so I scooped up the bug in a cup with water, brought it to the front desk and assumed since the rooms are over $500 a night that we would be taken care of and treated with dignity and respect. We were not. The manager (Alex) refused to speak to me twice and sent the security manager (Antwan) to deal with me instead. He essentially said I can't be sure it was a bed bug but that he was sure it was a tick from my dog. When I asked for the bug back to consult a pest control professional he lied and said it was sent to their engineer to give to their ecolab team. When I asked them to bring up the engineer and asked him for the bug he was honest and up front that management would not provide it to him. The security manager then had to admit that the disposed of the live bed bug I gave to them. So I brought up a dead one that was on the desk in our room and he crumpled it up in the paper I provided, turned it to dust, and then put the paper and dead bug remains in his pocket. We obviously cut our stay short and left the same day, but I know not everyone has that option. So for any of you staying, please do not make the same mistake I made in trusting the Marriott name. If you find a bed bug, follow these instructions and DO NOT SURRENDER YOUR PROOF BECAUSE THEY WILL DESTROY IT: You are legally entitled to a full refund if a hotel room has bed bugs. Because hotels are required to maintain basic hygiene, most properties will refund your stay rather than risk a bad review, a lawsuit, or a health department investigation. The most effective way to secure a refund and protect yourself involves taking a few critical steps: 1. Gather Immediate Evidence Before moving or unpacking, take clear, well-lit photos and videos of the bugs, your bites, and the mattress seams. If possible, trap a specimen in a sealed bag or container. Without clear proof, staff may mistakenly attribute your bites to mosquitoes or other insects. 2. Secure Your Luggage Bed bugs can easily travel home in your suitcases. Move your bags away from the bed and upholstered furniture, and seal anything that was exposed in plastic bags. 3. Demand a Refund and Relocation Notify management, present your evidence, and demand an immediate, full refund for your room. Request to be moved to a clean room, but do not assume a neighboring room is entirely safe, as infestations often spread. 4. Escalate to Corporate or Dispute the Charge If the local hotel management refuses to issue a refund, contact the corporate customer service line.
This place is absolutely amazing! The staff are so nice and check in process is a bit long if you get here at the right time, but it still was great. The pool is great but can be crowded sometimes. The outdoor pool is also amazing. I will say prices are expensive but it's kinda worth it. The rooms are extremely nice. I came down here for my birthday and the even gave us birthday cards signed by the staff and candy!
Everything! Beautiful and many activities available
I stayed at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center for two days, and at first glance, this property is large, beautiful, and elegant. The resort has an upscale atmosphere and is located very close to the airport, which was very convenient. My Uber ride from the airport was about $25. When I arrived, the registration process went smoothly, and I was offered a good room in the North Tower. The room itself was nice, featuring a king bed, couch, good storage options, a mini fridge, and a coffee pot. One thing I appreciated was how convenient the walk was from my room to the convention center entrance. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor pools, and lazy river, along with a large lounging area in the back that resembles a ski resort chalet, complete with fireplaces and comfortable seating areas. There were several restaurants to choose from, including a sports bar, steakhouse, and other dining options. In the center of the hotel was a beautiful large bar with a waterfall flowing between the staircases, which added to the overall atmosphere and elegance of the property. Overall, the hotel itself was very nice. However, because there is really nothing nearby within walking distance, the food and drink prices throughout the resort can feel expensive. I had dinner at the sports bar, and it was great — large screens for watching games, a lively atmosphere, and prices that felt more reasonable compared to some of the other options. One downside was that several places inside the resort do not accept cash. I also found the market to be expensive, the self-service kiosks were not working properly during my stay, and the attendants there were not the most pleasant. In the end, I enjoyed my stay and would consider visiting again. That said, I would probably venture outside the property for additional dining options. At times, the experience felt a little like Disneyland — once you are there, you are somewhat dependent on purchasing everything from the resort because there is not much else around, which naturally leads to higher prices.
I was here for a few nights for a conference. The rooms are comfortable and clean. One of the lights flickers but otherwise the lighting is fine. You have full control over the temp. Shower is fine. It is easy to get to the conference space and you don’t have to go outside which is great when it’s 40 and raining.
Todo.
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel’s spa and front desk. My aunt purchased a $250 spa gift card for me. Unfortunately, I misplaced the physical card, but I still have the receipt and the credit card information used for the purchase. When I went to the spa, they directed me to the front desk to resolve the issue. At the front desk, I spoke with Jamir, who said he was the manager. I explained the situation and asked if there was any way to locate or reissue the gift card since the purchase can clearly be verified. He immediately told me there was nothing they could do and made no effort whatsoever to help or offer any alternative solution. What made the situation worse was his attitude. After we finished speaking and walked away, he was smiling and laughing, even after I expressed how upset I was and mentioned leaving a review. That level of unprofessional behavior from someone claiming to be a manager is unacceptable. My family and friends have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, but after this experience, we will no longer be returning. It’s disappointing because the property itself is beautiful, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for over 10 years, and this is by far one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. I hope upper management sees this and takes it seriously, because situations like this should be handled with care, not dismissed.
Price gouging! Unbelievably expensive and there's nothing else around so unless you want to get an Uber or something and go to a store, you're out of luck you gotta pay their inflated prices
The hotel decided to renovate the indoor pool and provided less than 24 hours notice before my cancellation window with no discount other than free parking. They said to use the outdoor pool even though it was like 50 degrees outside. The sheets on the top bunk of the family suite had pretzel crumbs and food stains when we checked in. The food at the restaurant wasn’t good. The mini golf course they threw down some turf in a flat dirt filled area and checked a box to say they have mini golf. It’s so sad. It is otherwise a beautiful facility. It’s just one that is poorly run.
We spent the weekend at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center to celebrate my daughter’s 7th birthday specifically because she was excited about the water park. When we arrived, we found out it was CLOSED. No notice ahead of time. Nothing on the website. No warning whatsoever. We had already brought cake, balloons, and presents, so leaving wasn’t an option. My daughter who had been looking forward to this for months ended up in tears on her birthday. What made it worse? No apology. No discount. No effort to make it right. Just a shrug and “you can come back later for a refund.” For a property at this price point and as a Gold Elite member, that level of service is unacceptable. This experience has me seriously considering switching to Hyatt
I had really been looking forward to this business stay. The property is beautiful. The staff are rude. "I'm sorry. That is our policy." The room service is 4 day old pre-packaged brown rotten salad with melted cheese. "I'm sorry. Can we send something else up that might be better?" The fridge froze everything. The replacement fridge did the same. You can't order from a restaurant to pick up without going to said restaurant and waiting for the food. "I'm sorry. That is our policy." There's so much noise that you can't sleep! Having the valet parking outside of the window did not help with the 4-way flashers all night long, either! If you decline housekeeping, they stick postcards in your door every day. I guess their policies and people, unapologetically enforcing them, without one ounce of thought to the guest experience are the reason I would NEVER stay at another Gaylord resort. Again, was really looking forward to this trip, but the staff and policies have made it a food desert with no sleep to be had.
Overall, a great place. The food in the restaurants had a lot to be desired.
The food in the restaurants, at least the three we visited, was subpar.
I was here for several days during a work meeting. I don’t have enough great things to say about this location! The resort is beautiful. The restaurants/bars are great. The staff are wonderful! Highly recommend!!
This is just a gorgeous hotel, at least the lobby and entry hall. It's majestic. The rooms are huge too, big bathrooms and king beds, super spacious. The staff is also excellent, helps with everything you might need.
There was too much venting on the room, but maintenance came immediately and fixed it. The thing that should be more carefully looked at is the food. It was just not good. The "nachos" at the central bar in the entrance hall were oily flaps of fried four, just about inedible. The Caesar salad at Copper Table was just lettuce drenched in ranch dressing. For the prices, you expect good food.
I have been to the Gaylord Rockies Resort twice in two years, the most recent being JAN 2026. I have been to all the Gaylord Resorts except the new California property. I can definitely say the staff in the Rockies is my favorite. One goes to the Gaylord for the breathtaking size and architecture not to get a personalized experience. The Rockies property always makes me feel appreciated as a Titanium member with suite upgrades. (Thank you) The front desk (Ria) was welcoming, the dining experience at the Copper Table was superb, and I even to a dip in the pools...impressively fun. The property was not busy, but everything was open. The steamy heated infinity pool overlooked the mountains and kept me surprisingly warm. I eventually hopped over to one of the giant hot tubs before checking out both indoor water slides. The larger slide is surprisingly thrilling for a hotel resort. Overall I would definitely return with my family. 2 for 2 on suite upgrades is my hotel love language and Marriott as a whole has struggled to keep up with my expectations...but not the Gaylord Rockies. Well done, team. See you again next time!
Stayed for 6 days for a sales conference (both for the hotel and the conference facilities) and had a simply fabulous time The staff were incredible especially Adam the concierge who was both professional and friendly The bars / restaurants are so good why would you go elsewhere? Very highly recommended
We absolutely loved every aspect of this hotel- it had everything we needed. Check in was a delight with Ivana, and everyone was more than happy to help us at any time. The staffing was wonderful. We especially had a great time with Israel at Music Trivia and Jerzey in Bingo:)
nothing!
**Gaylord Rockies Resort – Denver, Colorado** **Stay: January 2–5 | Occasion: My 60th Birthday** I’ve wanted to visit the Gaylord Rockies since it opened in 2019, and for my milestone 60th birthday my husband surprised me with a four‑day staycation. It was exactly what I needed: no driving, no stress, and only five miles from home after some very difficult days. Approaching the resort feels like riding up to a castle rising out of the plains. It’s dramatic and almost fairytale‑like. If it were adults‑only, it would be perfect — but dare to dream. The room itself was standard hotel quality: comfortable, not cramped, but nothing extraordinary. The full mountain view, however, was absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of the room. There were a few frustrations. There was no clock in the room, so if you rely on one at night, bring your own. The bathroom lighting was extremely dim, and at night the only option was turning on a blindingly bright light, which made nighttime trips a bit rough. A simple night‑light would make a world of difference. Another big negative for us was the lack of a microwave. Whether it’s reheating a snack in the middle of the night or warming up great food you couldn’t finish, not having that option was a real disappointment for both me and my husband. Room service also fell short. Drink options were limited to soda or juice, with no tea or Gatorade, and healthy food choices were almost nonexistent. The food arrived quickly but looked like grocery store heat‑and‑eat meals. For the price, you’re better off going out for breakfast. One of the absolute highlights of the entire stay was the **spa**. It is truly top‑class. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel wonderful — relaxed, soothed, and genuinely cared for. The massages deliver exactly what you hope for, and the relaxation room is so inviting you could stay there all afternoon. It would make an amazing girls’ day out, and the best part is that spa access comes with pool privileges even if you’re not staying overnight. That alone makes it worth the visit. The resort itself is beautiful, but the pricing feels high for what you get. Parking fees — even for locals who live minutes away — are frustrating, especially considering how much open land surrounds the property. Daily resort fees add up quickly as well. The gift shop is fun to browse but definitely overpriced and not very practical for the season, making it hard to pick up a souvenir without feeling like you’re overspending. Dining was a mixed experience. The Copper Table was the best place to eat on property. It worked well for all meals, had a warm atmosphere, and the buffet was absolutely worth it. My favorite seating area was the middle section, where you feel like you’re outside without dealing with the cold. My birthday dinner at the Hickory Steakhouse, unfortunately, was a disappointment. It started off promising but went downhill quickly. For a meal costing over $300, it simply didn’t deliver. My husband, who always finishes his plate, couldn’t even get through it. On the bright side, the sports bar was a total win — fun, inviting, and full of energy with plenty of seating options and TVs everywhere. The pools and amenities were fantastic. The water was warm, around 85 degrees, and there were separate areas for kids and adults. Food and cocktails were readily available, and the fire pits were perfect for groups of any size. There were giant chess boards, bikes, games, and even a rubber ducky slide race start at 1 PM daily I think— which I actually won never thought I would be rutting on a rubber ducky with a bunch of kids, goes to say there is a little kid in all of us. It honestly felt like the best parts of a cruise, except we were not on a cruise and you can leave whenever you want. The Lazy River was the best, in the middle of winter my husband manage to get a sun burn, so fun. The most frustrating part of the entire stay was trying to reach a real person on the phone. Everything routes through automated systems, and for a resort this large and expensive, that’s disappointing. Sometimes you just need a human being to answer the phone. Overall, the Gaylord Rockies is visually stunning and full of things to do. It’s a great local getaway, especially in winter. The spa is exceptional and absolutely worth experiencing. But the high prices, limited room service options, dim bathroom lighting, lack of a microwave, and difficulty reaching human customer service keep it from being perfect. Still, for my 60th birthday, it gave me a beautiful view, warm pools, a top‑notch spa day, and moments of joy — and that counts for a lot.
A disappointing stay at a Gaylord Rockies hotel. Most of the hotel was nice, until we went to bed. The bed was soft and I would compare it to a foam mattress. The mattress was soft and their were buttons to hold it together that dug into my back the entire night. I pulled up the sheets and found that it was a Sealy "Posturepedic" for Marriott as an ARTESIA HD. I have always regarded Marriott as a high class hotel chain, but my $ 300 a night changed my mind. Very disappointed.
The location, the amenities and the amount of stuff to do
Nothing
Had a suite while attending a conference. The suite lacked windows in the living/dining room, so it was very dark. The bedroom had plenty of natural light. Isolated location with limited food options on site, went to the sports bar and grab-and-go cafe, and both were very mediocre and overpriced. The hotel is beautiful, and the conference space was nice. Catered food at the convention was fine for breakfast, but one night, cornbread muffins at an evening reception were still frozen.
It’s beautiful
Cher competition going on same time as holiday ice event. Could not get into any of the restaurants 1-2 hours. Noise level in the halls horrible with screaming girls up and down the hallways late at night. Horrible stay
Clean, nice staff, lots of stuff to do in the resort.
Sometimes the cable signal would go off.
We booked a king bedroom and they didn’t have a king bedroom upon check-in. They gave us a room with two queen beds.
Very nice looking property, lots of space to walk around. The gym was very big and clean.
Everything was way overpriced, from the coffee bars to the z bars. Shouldn’t be up charging things just because you’re in the middle of nowhere.
It was beautiful so much to do!
There was nothing not to like!
All of it. Copper table is delicious. Rooms were clean. Staff was great. Pool was 👍
There is nothing negative to say
Pool was gross, looked like someone vomited in the pool. No one cleaned it up or evacuated the pool.
The water park was amazing! And the ICE experience was really awesome!
I paid for our family to go through the ICE, and in the email it stated we could take a stroller through the experience. When we got there we were told we had to leave the stroller behind and that the hotel was not responsible if it got stolen. I think they should have send out an email clearly stating the changes.
Wonderful resort with fun holiday activities for the family. The pool and water park are excellent. 4 stars because the parking situation is a mess. Parking is $33 a night and less hourly otherwise, if coming just for events. You must have your room key to get in and out of self parking and not have to pay additional fee. There is valet which is additional charge of course. Other than the parking situation this is a great resort. You must remember it is a luxury resort with prices and situations like a resorts (think Disney). Food and restaurants are more expensive than outside the resort and it can be crowded. Recommend reservations for dinner at most restaurants. The sports bar has the most extensive menu but they don’t take reservations that we could see. The Copper Table was more fine dining but was delicious and generous portions. If you have mobility issues in your party events in the convention center are a LONG walk (think airport terminal length). Bring your own wheelchair or they have a limited number to lend to guests.
Booked a room for five a couple months ago for a Christmas trip. We were given a room that slept 2! When we asked hotel staff to fix it, they offered us air mattresses for the floor or we could PAY for another room. Excuse me, I already paid for a room to sleep five, why should I pay for another room??? The staff was totally unwilling to help us and even asked me at one point “what do you want me to do about it??” Ummm, you work here, fix it. Then when we ordered room service which is “prepared fresh” (according to their own advertising) they couldn’t modify the food for an allergy. We were told everything is prepackaged and pre prepared and could not be modified. If we needed modifications we would have to go down to the restaurants, which were fully booked and even had signs up that they were full! The “customer service” was appalling. Rude, rude, rude. All I wanted was what I paid for and my kid to not have to sleep on the floor on a deflated air mattress. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever. Spend your money elsewhere where they care about customers.
accommodation requests were graciously accepted and the Hotel receptionist was continually gracious anf helpful
The mattress was too hard; and the pillows didn't provide a diverse softness!
The Gaylord Rockies is a gorgeous hotel. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was very nice, and the staff treated us fine. The pool area is nice for children. The fitness center is very large and well equipped. You might ask: if all of the above is so good, why only a 4 out of 5? 1. They are obviously understaffed. Wait times for all of the restaurants were long even though there were numerous empty tables. The checkin line was long as well. 2. Marriott Titanium elites get one $10 food credit per stay. No upgrade, no breakfast, no discounts on anything. Overall we were pleased with the stay, but there is room for improvement.
All the amenities
Very clean and and friendly staff
Great room. Nice people watching. Clean and new facilities. A large convenience store place named Marketplace was a huge plus, you can get coffee and many kinds of food. There are 6 restaurants that ring the central bar, 2 were pretty bad experiences. The organic one gave us our money back on a skirt steak meal, if they knew it was crummy why serve it? A pizza wasn’t bad. Oh, they sent my salmon burger to the wrong table, it took forever and the server never checked on our drinks, needs. Then the Colorado restaurant served me a grilled sandwich that had been grilled in oil that was almost rancid, it was old. Then six of us ate in the 2 story, huge sports bar. The food was good, all 6 options. Not great mac and cheese, but okay chicken on there as an option. Large plates, consider splitting one.
The employees were great and the hotel is nice. The reason I am only giving it two stars is because of the other visitors. I’ve been to a lot of different places both nationally and internationally, but have never been somewhere that the guests were so rude, snobby, and uptight. They leave trash everywhere and basically treat the hotel employees like they are slaves that deserve nothing more than to pick up after other grown people. For this reason, I won’t be returning. I’m ashamed to be associated with the other uptight, rude as hell guests who are no better than the garbage and other items they leave everywhere.
I’m really disappointed with our experience at the Gaylord Rockies Grinch ICE! exhibit this year. What was supposed to be a fun holiday outing for my toddler turned into a stressful, chaotic mess. We waited in line after line for over an hour, which completely ruined the excitement for my little one before we even got inside. Once we finally entered the exhibit, it was so overcrowded that we could barely move, let alone enjoy the displays. It honestly felt oversold. People were crammed together, and we missed most of the experience because we were constantly pushed along or blocked by the crowd. To make things worse, we were told to leave our stroller behind, even though the website clearly says they are allowed. We followed the rules, planned accordingly, and still ended up carrying everything (and a tired toddler) through the crowd. And just to top it off, parking was $15 with no alternative options. After paying premium ticket prices, being hit with an unavoidable parking fee felt like another unnecessary frustration. For the price and the hype, this event fell far short. I expected a magical experience for my child, but instead it was overwhelming, poorly managed, and disappointing. I hope they take crowd control, accurate information, and guest experience more seriously in the future.
