Earl's Regent Negombo "Golden Shore at Your Door - Find Your Dream Stay"

What a gem. Beautiful clean beachfront, nice pool with a clear view of the sunset, beautifully setup and decorate suite, and a nice spread on the breakfast buffet. But what made the stay extra wonderful was all the lovely people (especially the guys handling the poolside beers). Will definitely come again.

Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel direkt am Strand das Zimmer war ein Traum wir konnten direkt aus unserem Zimmer auf die Wellen schauen. Das Frühstück war super der Pool sauber und alle Personen waren sehr sehr freundlich und nett zu uns wir haben den Zimmerservice oft genutzt er war sehr nett zuvorkommend und ist all unseren Wünschen nachgekommen . wir können uns nur für die Gastfreundschaft bedanken und werden bald wieder bei ihnen buchen.

Es gibt über dieses Hotel überhaupt nichts negatives zu berichten es ist wirklich höchster Standard Sauberkeit Freundlichkeit alles perfekt

Mooie, gerenoveerde kamers. Prima bedden. Heerlijk Sri Lankaans ontbijt (ook continentaal maar dat was niet bijzonder). Zwembad niet groot maar voldoet prima. Gelegen aan het strand!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Staff were so attentive and even upgraded us to the presidential suite as there was availability which was very special! Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Staff all absolutely lovely. Breakfast also delicious! Would definitely come back :)

Only thing we found was that the toilet had a bit of funny smell the whole time but nothing major!

The hotel has old and new buildings we booked the room just for 1 night and we only use it for few hours before heading to airport The old building not lovely while the new one is very modern clean The room furniture where we stayed was wet and has stin on it It has the nicest view point at the 8th fllor

Restaurant manager strugled with English and we went as 5 friends ordered food and the food was server to each of us individually with the last friend who received the food had to wait 1 hr for a burger.

Staff: The staff were polite and very helpful. However, customer oriented communication skills could be further improved, especially within the reception team. Room (Executive Room): The room layout was comfortable and relaxing, with a magnificent sea and beach view. A few minor paint touch ups and more thorough bathroom floor cleaning could further enhance the overall quality. The three steps at the entrance to the room may be challenging for elderly or differently abled guests. Food: Overall, the food was tasty and of good quality. The breakfast buffet selection varies depending on the guest profile. when there are more local guests, the menu includes a nice mix of Sri Lankan-style dishes along with continental options.

Ich musste aufgrund einer kurzfristigen Erkrankung spontan ein Hotel in Negombo finden und habe mit dem Earl’s Regent einen Glücksgriff gemacht. Auch wenn ich nur wenige der Annehmlichkeiten des Hotels genießen konnte da ich die meiste Zeit im äußerst bequemen Bett verbringen musste. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand und bietet einen traumhaften Blick aufs Meer. Besonders der Poolbereich mit den Sonnenliegen und dem direkten Meerblick ist ein echtes Highlight. Mein Zimmer mit Meerblick war modern, sehr sauber und komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Personal war jederzeit freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank an Shehani, Anne, Viranya und Thushara die mir bei allen Anliegen immer mit einem Lächeln geholfen haben. Nach meinem Check-Out war es kein Problem mein Gepäck bis zu meiner Abholung am Abend aufzubewahren.

Wet floor constantly and wife slipped on it a couple of times ! Which is not very safe, spoke to manager who understood they have a problem ? But doesn't seem to know what to do

La camera era molto spaziosa e confortevole, e la colazione ricca e varia.

Il bagno aveva problemi di drenaggio, durante la doccia l’acqua si riversava ovunque, arrivando quasi fino alla camera.

El hotel estaba en obras, por lo que en los pasillos había material por el suelo (escalera, cubos...) y mucho polvo. En la piscina había una cinta para limitar una zona en la que no te podías bañar porque estaban trabajando en la fachada y podía caer algo. A ratos se oía mucho ruido. Consideramos que un hotel en esas condiciones no debería estar abierto al público. Llegamos al hotel sin reserva y cuando preguntamos si tenían habitación disponible no nos informaron de la situación del edificio. Tampoco hacían ninguna referencia a ello en Booking. Nos quejamos y no nos ofrecieron ni explicaciones ni una solución.

The staff is very friendly and helpful looked after us. We stayed two nights, especially Mr. Raj, the manager he always looked after us and everything was excellent.

The room was so perfect and very clean and we had a lovely time. The bed was really really good. After a long flight, we went to the hotel and we slept well. beautiful view with the ocean . Excellent stay overall — the hotel was clean and well-maintained, with a beautiful view that made each morning feel special. The food was consistently good, and the staff were truly excellent: friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my visit. Highly recommended.

We checked in late , there was no cleaned rooms , staff was sleeping at the office area and was annoyed been woken up, staff were rude and uninterested

Checking in was complicated. I couldn’t do it directly. Was standing at reception but got sent to booking.com. Had to wait fire it to go through.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at this hotel. Ill start with the good - comfy bed, right by beach, plenty of sunbeds. But the bad - we had a very loud sound coming from ceiling in our room which kept is awake all night. A deep rumble. Even when wearing air plugs it was unbearable. We went to reception and they advised us to turn off aircon. This didnt change anything and it was far to hot without aircon and no fan available. We were told the hotel was fully booked so unable to change us to a different room. We were told there was nothing they could do so we just had to deal with it. We got no sleep before a long haul flight. In the morning we asked the manager for a partial refund. He stated there were heaps of rooms available and we should have changed rooms. This was very frustrating to hear considering the man overnight said they wete fully booked. The manager offered us a free breakfast which we couldn't have due to having a flight to catch. All they could offer was a 700rupee off our bill. Absolutely piss take. Our room also was covered in hundreds of midges when we returned to our room after sunset. The doors were closed and no lights on so no idea how they got in. The staff used bug spray which worked but also resulted in dead midges everywhere and a strong smell of bug spray all night

Place was still under construction and old building connection to newish building was strange and confusing. Beach had rubbish in it and was def not for swimming.

Customer service was excellent. Felt really special. Especially by Raj the F&B Manager. Huge rooms. Amazing food especially breakfast.

January 2025 major construction work going on inside the hotel. Dust everywhere and workers working until midnight. Very noisy. Housekeeping didn’t come every day

This is a great little hotel and is well located with access to the beach. Hotel rooms are equipped with balconies and ocean views. The air-conditioning at this hotel is brilliant as it actually works and cools the room. All the linen and towels were clean. The hotel is a short walk or tub tub ride away from the main restaurant strip.

We did not make the hotel aware of this as we were only there for 2 nights at the start of our trip and 1 at the end. There was mold in 2 out of the 5 bedrooms allocated to us. It was more important for us to have rooms close to one another so this didn't bother us. Otherwise the hotel is well maintained and clean.

Staff was friendly

The room was not what i initially booked. And It was not clean at all with dirty bed sheets (even after we asked them to change, they got new other dirty ones) very old furniture and not clean washroom, the room floor was not clean when we entered looks like it wasn’t cleaned after someone used the beach and had sandy feet. The fridge in the room was rusty and both night stands were full of dust. And the room had mosquitos problem + had to kill some ants inside.
