Luckily we had the last parking space where we stayed for the 2 night break. Only 4 spaces at front of property. Nothing else a problem.

As I was on my own they arranged for me to have breakfast with another friendly woman, won't say her name, but you know who you are. Thank you to Gary and Shirley for making my stay wonderful. Had a great choice of breakfasts all very nicely cooked. The location was within walking distance of all the main attractions and eateries in the town so very handy. Very close to the beach as well.

The room was quite large, lovely, comfy bed, all the things that you expect, even had a fan which was needed. Breakfast was brilliant, full English but also had plenty of choice. E

ROOM was lovely and comfortable, no view out of OUR window but that was not an issue. Hosts were lovely, nothing an issue. Clean, tidy, comfortable and most important value for money. We paid £80 a night for B/B. I even noticed the owner giving a couple a lift to the train station - above and beyond. SUPERB

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026Nice big old property. The owners are working hard to refurbish the property. Lovely new carpet in the bedroom. Clean bedding and nice and warm. Gary cooked us a yummy breakfast. Shirley is very friendly and welcoming. Shirley was waiting for us when we got there to help with parking and a greet us. We sat outside in the afternoon as it was really sunny. You are close to the restaurants and bars on Lord Street. Nice where this is situated as off busy Lord Street. Shirley was very informative about different places you can visit in the town. I would recommend staying here with Shirley and Gary to support their business. Both lovely people.

There was no noise from inside or outside the building so had a brilliant night's sleep. Our breakfast was delicious with perfect poached eggs 😉. We also got free parking which was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and I had a brilliant nights sleep. I had a Full English breakfast and it was one of the best I’ve had absolutely delicious. Reviewed Oct 30, 2025Everything. Shirley was poorly and Gary was brilliant. I would give our stay 20/10. Shirley still did bits, she is a great host and didn't want to let the guests down. Never in a million years would that happen. Gary was chief Chef and bottle washer, and waiter too. Nothing was too much for him. The breakfast was amazing as usual and Gary went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect and the guests were happy. Gary is very knowledgeable about the area, even the weather, he knew if we were going to have a good day or it was going to rain. Lol. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable. Would we stop again? Try and stop us! We love Le Maitre, this is our go to hotel in Southport, if it isn't available,we don't go to Southport.
