Cleanness was bad. I stayed here many times but this time bathroom was full of hair and I found even a patient hand bond in the room which is not acceptable at all. When I informed the front desk they behaved like why you even tell us. And I was shocked

Very nice, clean downtown hotel with skyway access to the Mayo Clinic. Our room had a great view. Great bar and steakhouse attached. Valet staff was great!

The front desk staff seemed rushed and weren’t welcoming. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower was within a deep bathtub.

I am so disappointed with this hotel! I stayed here with my husband in March and everything was great. I returned in June for a two night stay and it was horrible! I am a Hilton Diamond member. At check-in I was told that there were no upgrades and I wasn’t offered access to the Concierge Lounge or breakfast. I asked about the lounge etc and was told that I didn’t qualify for those amenities. I called Hilton Honors and had them check with the hotel. They were told the same thing and the lady at the desk was extremely rude to them as well as me. I got to my room to discover that the A/C would not cool the room below 73 degrees and went up to 75 degrees during the day.. I was worn out after multiple dr visits the next day but finally asked for someone to fix the issue. After two visits the repairman stated that he couldn’t fix it. The front desk then offered me a different room (an upgrade none the less). It was 9 pm by now and I didn’t feel like packing my things to move. I’m very disappointed. After over 20 years as a Diamond member who has travelled all over the world, I have never been treated so badly.

Vallet team was especially friendly all weekend long.

When going to Rochester for the Mayo Clinic the last thing we expected was to go to our room and find it dirty( hair all over the bathroom floor and dirty shower). After traveling all day and wanting to settle in before going to Mayo for 2 days the last thing we wanted was to have to change rooms. But that’s what happened, we’ve stayed at this hotel for years and have decided after this experience we are not only done with this hotel but the Hilton brand. We have been loyalty members for a long time and feel that the Hilton hotels are not been kept up and the staff seems complacent. This opinion is based off this Rochester experience and the MSP location too.

It has been over two years since a Hilton property has agreed to provide me with a 4 pm checkout based upon my Diamond status. In addition, while this property has an Executive Lounge, breakfast is not offered in the Lounge and there was no offer for breakfast or a breakfast discount in the restaurant.

Beautiful hotel. People are great. I will stay there again. But will bring a portable heater. Despite the heat being on, and thermostat being set at 80 degrees or more, the temperature dropped from 69 degrees to 68 degrees overnight. This is the second time I have had this experience at this hotel. I have stayed here multiple times and know how to work the thermostat. They really need to fix their climate control.

This is a Hilton in name only. It’s actually a Hampton Inn with the Hilton name on it. The place totally lacks warmth. The lobby is sterile, the front desk staff cold, and there’s a cheap looking snack kiosk near the elevators. The rooms are worn, bed sheets cheap, mattress hard (not a typical Hilton one) and bathroom too small for two people. The room was dimly lit at best. The hotel did have a decent gym and the room service was lightening quick thanks to the hustling women who staff it. This said, you don’t have many options in Rochester. It’s almost as if the hotels know they have you since there’s few options and almost everyone goes to the city to attend the Mayo Clinic. So this may be the best hotel in town. Which isn’t saying much.

The Hilton Garden Inn, Mayo in Rochester delivered an exceptional guest experience. The property is immaculately maintained, the staff demonstrate genuine hospitality, and the accommodations are comfortable and modern. There is a complimentary breakfast in the a.m. that has exceptionally hospitable staff. The complimentary Thanksgiving dinner, featuring a complete holiday menu, was an outstanding and thoughtful gesture. This level of care sets a high standard for guest service. Kudos to the staff that shared their holiday with all of us travelers to prepare a wide variety of food, the bartenders as well as the servers.

I booked a room with my points and cash, and all was going well until a couple of Doctors scheduled us for an office appointment at 2:00 and a video appointment at 3:15 pm. I knew the checkout time was noon, so I stopped at the front desk to ask how much extra a late checkout would cost, and was quoted $64.00. Imagine my surprise to find my closing bill in my email, and being charged $169.50 and all the taxes for a total of $195.14. I called and was told there was nothing they could do because I used my points for the room, they can't charge just the late checkout fee. I doubt that and I think I am 100% done with Hilton and my AMX Hilton card. They say one thing and do another.

As Hilton Diamond Members, we’ve been frequent guests at this hotel for over two years now—sometimes every 90 days, sometimes monthly, sometimes for three weeks at a time, sometimes just for a night. No matter the length of stay, this hotel continues to be our “home base” whenever we travel for medical needs. It truly feels like a place of luxury where we can exhale and “disconnect” our minds after long, stressful days. That’s why we keep coming back, and why I want so much to give this place a full 5 stars. The People Make This Hotel Exceptional The concierge staff is unlike anything I’ve experienced anywhere else, and they are 99.9% of the reason we keep returning. If their level of care ever changed, honestly, I would have to look elsewhere. They are beyond outstanding—professional, kind, attentive, and willing to make anything happen without ever making you feel rushed, even when they are swamped. Their warmth, genuine conversation, and ability to anticipate needs make this hotel what it is. They deserve recognition every single time. Housekeeping and Engineering are also phenomenal. Every day the rooms feel fresh and spotless. Engineering always goes above and beyond to meet special requests—whether it’s a fan, a Roku, or a small adjustment to make the room more comfortable, they handle it with grace and kindness. Truly, the behind-the-scenes staff are the heartbeat of this hotel. Several front desk staff are also wonderful and leave you feeling welcomed and cared for. I do have to echo other reviews that occasionally there are one or two team members who make guests feel like they are a “bother,” which is a hard feeling in such a welcoming environment. That said, I’ve noticed recently that one particular staff member who gave that impression no longer seems to be there, which has been a positive shift. Where Improvements Are Needed Because this hotel is otherwise outstanding, I share the following with hope and encouragement for change: Beds: Please, invest in them. For a hotel where many guests are here for medical reasons—and often staying for a week or more—the beds feel far too hard, with little give. The result is additional aches and stiffness instead of rest and comfort. I know from many conversations with other guests that I’m not alone in this experience. Better mattresses would elevate the stay to the level of luxury the rest of the hotel embodies. Executive Lounge Breakfast: I cannot emphasize this enough—the food needs an overhaul. For over two years, the breakfast rotation has never changed. It feels bulk-ordered and predictable, which stands in stark contrast to the incredible service in the lounge itself. Guests staying here—many heading out to long days of medical appointments at Mayo—deserve fresh, nourishing, and varied options to start the day. A Holiday Inn Express can provide fresh omelets or made-to-order waffles, so why not here, in a luxury property with a VIP lounge? Please consider adding more grab-and-go fresh items, greater protein variety, and a true sense of care in the food that matches the excellence everywhere else in this hotel. This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about health, energy, and showing the same level of love in the lounge menu that the staff shows in their service. Final Thoughts This hotel is extraordinary because of its people, and that’s why we remain loyal. But I sincerely hope leadership will invest in these two areas—beds and the VIP lounge breakfast—because they are the missing pieces that keep this from being a true 5-star experience in every sense. With those improvements, I would not hesitate to say this is one of the finest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

Facilities were nice.

The shower was very wide to step in and was dangerous for older folks like us.

The hotel was lovely. The room was comfortable, but could use a little updating. It wasn't worn out, but getting tired. They were flexible with check-out time, which was great because we had a meeting that went until noon. If we'd had to check out by 11am, we would have had a problem.

Not much, except I think the hotel needs to do some updating overall in decor and room furnishings.

I HIGHLY recommend staying at this hotel! We will definitely return for another stay! Their staff and valet attendees were soooo friendly, polite, and professional. The hotel itself and the room was clean and lovely. The restaurant Pittsburgh Blue inside the restaurant had wonderful food and service, along with the other restaurant that is also in the hotel. We ate breakfast there and it's fantastic! Stay at this hotel, you will love it!

absolutely awesome experience

This is my third time staying at this hotel. I come every year for a conference and one time I stayed at a different hotel and was disappointed. From now on, I will only stay at the Hilton in Rochester when I am here. It is extremely clean and feels luxurious with the reasonable price.

Excellent amenities. Only issue related to taxi service, at the last minute there were too many people wanting to go to the airport and I had to call Uber, luckily we made the plane. Prior notice to all persons wanting to go to airport would help….also I called hotel taxi from restaurant near hospital and tipped generously, then told there was a $15 charge in addition. Handout on taxi service would help.

100/100 would recommend. Clean, great staff, and all around felt recharged afterwards. I will always stay here when in town!

Our stay was 2 weeks while husband received new liver at Mayo. Great place to stay, always book ahead of time, they do sell out. Driver takes you to Mayo buildings, however you can get to Mayo from inside skyway. Food is delicious from room service.
