Die Sun Nicolas Appartements liegen direkt an der Hauptstraße der Ortschaft Kato Daratso. Neben der Eingangstür, die mit einem Zahlencode zu öffnen ist, befindet sich ein Eiscafe. Bis Chania sind es etwa 4 km. Die regelmäßig zwischen Kalamaki und Chania pendelnden öffentlichen Busse (Linien 21 und 15) halten quasi direkt vor der Tür. Die einfache Fahrt nach Chania kostet 1,30 Euro. 4 Strände, alle feinsandig, seicht abfallend und mit glasklarem Wasser, sind zu Fuß in 8 bis 20 Minuten zu erreichen. In Kato Daratso finden sich im Umkreis von 300 m ein gutes Dutzend sehr guter, Familien-geführter, Restaurants. Wir bewohnten im Sun Nicolas eines der großen, von der Straße zurückliegenden, Appartements, was sich als sehr gute Wahl herausstellte. Dort "oben" bekommt man vom Lärm der Straße nichts mit und hat zudem einen tollen Meerblick. Die blitzsaubere, schlicht und zweckmäßig eingerichtete, Wohneinheit verfügte über eine kleine Küchenzeile, einen Wohnbereich mit einer zusätzlichen Schlafoption und ein separates Schlafzimmer mit 2 zusammengestellten Einzelbetten. Das relativ kleine Bad ist mit einer Duschzeile ausgestattet. Das Highlight des Appartements ist die riesige Terrasse, von der aus man einen herrlichen Meerblick genießen kann. Die Anlage verfügt über einen zentral gelegenen kleinen Pool mit Liegemöglichkeiten. Die Appartements werden auf Wunsch täglich gereinigt. Was diese Unterkunft indes für uns so besonders machte, war die liebevolle Betreuung durch die junge Inhaberin Jenny. Sie ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes das "Mädchen für alles". Sie ist immer erreichbar, 12 Stunden an der Rezeption und hält die gesamte Anlage in Schuss und macht auch noch die Zimmer selber. Respekt! Ihre Freundlichkeit wirkt nicht künstlich aufgesetzt, sondern aufrichtig und authentisch. Wir sind sehr dankbar, dass wir diese Seele von einem Menschen, die unseren Urlaub so bereichert hat, kennenlernen durften!. Liebe Jenny: Efcharisto poly kai gaia sas!

Hotel is close to the beach and all other things you need for a stay - markets, cafes, bakeries, restaurants and public transportation. It is quiet and very spacious. Communication with Jessica was amazing, and she is so helpful, and the hotel is super clean!

Our room was quite dark, with almost no daily light, it looked better on photos than live, furniture is very old, but nicely resaturated. Everything is positive, but for the quality of furniture, price should be lower.

Sophia and Julia were so very lovely during our stay. Assisted with everything from settling us into the property, being at reception when we needed assistance, recommending great restaurants and local information and even taking photos for us! Thank you for everything, we loved everything ❣️.

Jennifer è una host gentile e attenta, è il secondo anno consecutivo che torniamo. La stanza è comoda e pulita. La posizione è perfetta sia per chi vuole il mare vicino e anche per spostarsi verso le spiaggie piu famose o per andare a chania in centro la sera.

Le séjour s'est très bien passé, l'hôte est accomodante et très aimable. La piscine est top.

Es war ein perfekter Urlaub auf Kreta. Der Ort ist nicht weit weg vom Flughafen entfernt. Die Gastgeberinen sind super nett und hilfreich. Das Appartament ist gut geeignet für 3 Personen, die Betten sind bequem. Der Balkon ist schattig, so dass man die Hitze im Sommer gut aushalten kann. Alles was man braucht ist vorhanden, der Pool ist gepflegt und macht Spaß. Die Strände in der Nähe sind fantastisch, das Essen in den benachbarten Restaurants ist toll, eine leckere Eisdiele direkt vor der Tür. Eine Wäscherei ist gleich in der Nähe. Für 14 Euro bekommt man saubere und trockene Wäsche zurück. Es lohnt sich den botanischen Garten zu besuchen, man braucht kein Auto. Der Bus fährt um 9:30 los und zurück um 14:30. Der botanische Garten ist wunderschön und das Restaurant am Ende ein Highlight. Wir werden ganz bestimmt wieder kommen. Nächstes Mal nehmen wir nicht so viele Sachen mit. Danke für die tolle Zeit, wir hatten schon lange nicht mehr so viel Spaß und Ruhe gehabt!!!

Ottima struttura, curata e in una posizione davvero comoda. Jenny è stata molto accogliente e disponibile, e ci siamo trovati benissimo durante il nostro soggiorno. La posizione è ideale: ci sono molti ristoranti nelle vicinanze ed è molto comoda per raggiungere Chania e uscire la sera. Consigliatissima!

Staff super cordiale e disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. Camera pulita e dotata di tutti i comfort di cui si può avere bisogno in un appartamento. Il balcone spazioso regala un ambiente vivibile in più, molto piacevole. Il letto matrimoniale è comodo, un po’ meno i letti singoli presenti in salotto. A disposizione ci sono: aria condizionata, phon, stendino con mollette, biancheria da letto (cambiata giornalmente), biancheria da bagno (cambiata giornalmente), bagnoschiuma, sapone e cucina completa di accessori. Lo spazio comune con piscina è ottimo per concedersi un po’ di relax dopo una giornata in spiaggia. Nel complesso, un soggiorno molto piacevole!

La piscine est très agréable. L'emplacement est top. La climatisation dans la chambre. Le late checkout. Jenny est vraiment très gentille et ultra disponible !!

La literie est vraiment en très piteux état. On dort en sentant les ressorts dans le dos !! La porte de la salle de bain et des toilettes ne pouvait pas se fermer ! Attention, je ne dis pas fermer à clé, je veux vraiment dire qu'elle ne pouvait pas tenir en position fermée !!! Donc, préparez vous à aller aux toilettes la porte ouverte. Le bac de douche est très petit et le rideau colle à la peau quand on se lave. Il n'y a aucun espace pour ranger les affaires de toilette hormis l'étagère sous le miroir.

We enjoyed our stay at Sun Nicolas for many reasons. The location of this apartment is great as there are many beaches nearby to choose from, there is also a bus stop just outside the apartment which allows you to access the main Chania town easily. There are also quite a few traditional Greek restaurants nearby which served delicious food! Jenny was also a great homeowner as we were able to communicate through English without any issues, and she was very caring always offering us help such as borrowing a beach umbrella or providing guidance on how to travel using the buses. The room we stayed in was spacious with a nice balcony, the beds and cushions were comfortable too which meant we had no issues with sleeping, and our room was very clean. The swimming pool was also kept in good condition along with the sun loungers which means you could spend a day there relaxing and cooling off using the pool. Overall, both myself and my friend enjoyed our visit to Chania and would pick this apartment again if we were to visit in the future.

This family hotel was the PERFECT choice for me and my adult daughter. We wanted to relax, and we really did. Jenny really made us feel welcome and at home. She was so kind to check us in at 2.20 am. As we had a late flight home, we checked out of our room and Jenny lend us a place which a bathroom and shower so we could enjoy our last day by the pool and take a shower before our departure. The hotel is located on the main road, with shops, cafes and restaurants, and only a few minuts walk to the beach ( although we didn't go, cause we just loved the pool ). We came right before the summer rush, which was perfect. The hotel is no luxury, but it has everything we needed. The room had a balcony overlooking the pool area. There is a small Tea kitchen with a small fridge. The shower is a little small, but in all honesty, I'm not exactly a " small girl "😉. There is aircondition and a very small tv ( no HDMI, only scartstik ) on the wall. There was two beds, that were a little hard on my bidy ( again, probably my weight ), and a lounge couch. Jenny cleans the rooms everyday with new towels and clean beds. ( Remember to bring your own towels for the pool. Really, its been a GREAT stay at Sun Nicolas.

Bed is a little hard ( could feel " metal " ), tv is very small and without HDMI. The fridge is very cold and I couldn't regulate it, so milk and drinks frose ( good for the water to bring down to the pool 😉) Other than that, I cannot say anything bad. This was a great budget friendly stay for us.

Our room was extremely tidy including all of our promised facilities, and the everyday cleaning was always done very well The host was exceptionally kind and helped us with anything that we asked for, whether it was a borrowed beach umbrella from them or with helping us with taxi reservations or for a different check-in time because of our flight schedule, a very big appreciation note for the host for their professionalism and amability The location itself is worth it thanks to its closeness to some local beaches, and there are plenty of shops, cafés ans restaurants to pick from, and it is also very easy to get to central Chania from here

Jenny (who is incredibly friendly) met us near midnight on a Friday for check-in. The place is in a excellent location – near beaches, stores, cafes, restaurants, etc – and quiet (especially if you want to relax in the pool are). It is also very easy to rent a car from places nearby and from there to get to amazing beaches like Balos, Falassarna or Elafonissi.

We had a very good stay at this house. It's not very far from the center, and facilities are easy to access nearby. The apartment was large. Most notably, the staff was absolutely exceptional - very kind, attentive, and helpful.

The entrance to the building is on the main street but the rooms are super quiet. I had a very good sleep. The owner is super nice and helpful. Cleaning is everyday.

The staff were super friendly. Someone was there to greet us and show us to our rooms and the receptionist gave us some suggestions for what we could do in the area. They also allowed us to keep our car in the parking lot for a few extra hours while we went into town. Overall, it was a great stay!
