Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Peaceful and Quiet..Nature surrounding river very close by just love it here. Our lodge No.10 was perfect for a family of three. Clean, had everything you need..so close to shops, petrol etc. My extended family came and visit and they all loved your place and the lodge, even considered staying here next time they come to Turangi. Had a fabulous stay here. Thank you Creel Lodge.
My son didn't like the bed. He said was too hard for him, he ended up sleeping on the sofa. But I said don't be like that. Rest of us had a good sleep.

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026As soon as you drive into the lodge you feel like you are driving into a grotto. So many bushes and trees lots of places to explore. Own private walkway down to the river. Quite charming. And the onsite cafe is fantastic great food and coffee.

Loved the old fashioned furniture in the bedroom. Private outside area ( would be great in the summer). We've been before and walked through lovely grounds. Too wintery this visit! Thanks for the history in the folder. Great place to stay.

The living area and toilet had a terrible smell, not just a damp odor. The toilet in particular smelled the worst, and leaving the window open did not help at all. There were no fly screens on the room’s windows or doors, so we couldn’t leave them open to let fresh air in. The air conditioner was quite old, and when it was running, the smell became even worse. When we arrived, we asked if we could change to another room, but were told the lodge was fully booked. We then requested a fan to help circulate the air, but never received a response. We stayed for three nights, and no one followed up with us regarding either the fan or the possibility of changing rooms.

We didn't have any issues at all and would have liked to have stayed longer.
