The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly.

Some room amenities were worn down and not clean, like the sofas in the living room.

I really liked the spacious and clean rooms, the modern design, and the comfortable facilities. The property was well maintained and had a relaxing atmosphere. I also liked the convenient location and the friendly staff, which made our stay more enjoyable.

Not much food courts around the area, the amenities were that much to call the room “Executive Room”

It is an excellent hotel, the room was very nice, and breakfast was nice too. Most probably I will stay there again. But I had a strange and bad experience that showed lack of professionalism of the hotel staff. They did not take my credit card as a guarantee when I checked in, I offered it but they said it was not necessary. Then on the last day they panicked that I will leave without paying my room service (my room was already paid for). So I went to the lobby and paid everything. Still multiple staff came after that and asked me why I have not paid. They did not believe me even after I showed them my receipt. I have never had such an experience anywhere in the world. It was very upsetting and humiliating. They should train their staff better, and better ability for conversing in English will help too.

The room is like an apartment. Has a kitchen, washing machine and very generous with the sixe. Great service & even the assistant manager came to greet me.

Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room was large and very comfortable. Gym is very good. Breakfast is fantastic.

Room was very cold and I found it hard to control the temperature. Gym is good but the cable machine does not have the equipment for triceps push-downs etc, no ropes or V bar etc

Personnel accueillant et aidant, parle très bien anglais, communication fluide avec le personnel. Pas de soucis à déplorer, la vue depuis la chambre (étage 21) est fabuleuse. Le petit-déjeuner est copieux, je n'ai pas pu tester le restaurant malheureusement. Toutefois, j'ai pu voir qu'un service en chambre était possible et que les plats proposés sont variés et appétissants. Le check-out se fait à 12h en dernière horaire ce qui est très arrangeant pour ceux qu'ils veulent dormir un peu plus !

The room could have been cleaner

Everything! Spacious and great service! It was our second time we stayed here! We only had room only without breakfast. Happy with the facilities, as we used gym and it was quite good for hotel gym.

Could improve the staff with English ability in case they would bump into a foreigner. If they could add water dispenser and microwave would be a great. Protip: going in with the car to the lobby quite hassle as you have to drive around the block but if you just stop in front of the hotel and walk to the lobby would be fine.

Very spacious room, comfortable bed, ideal location near malls, a nice Nasi Padang restaurant nearby.

Spacious room, also the room amenities and kitchen equipment are complete and very well thought supplies. They even provide the laundry detergent. Loved the coffee pods every day! Also the bar open till late, near the smoking area. There’s a famous nasi padang and supermarket just across the hotel. Near Galaxy Mall. Most of all, the level of service and the staff, impressive! Thought Bali is the best, till I experience staying in Surabaya, particularly in Oakwood Hotel. Well done everyone!

Maybe a bit deep clean in the shower area on regular basis to maintain the color of the tiles. They should change the dining table, dangerous if we lean on one side, not stable.

Insects in the room symptom of lack of cleaning

Rooms are very large and quite high-spec, reflecting a major up-front investment when the hotel was built maybe around 10 years ago. Huge amount of drawer, cupboard and desk space. All staff, from the main entrance, to the car park, Front Desk and breakfast restaurant were very helpful and friendly (especially Pak Ary), and the breakfast selection was excellent.

Some minor maintenance issues in the room, such as very slow draining shower and wash basin traps. Also some confusion over the swimming pool(s): we found the the relatively small and crowded indoor pool, yes, but if there is an outdoor pool as advertised on Booking.com, we never found it.

Nothing in particular, but overall experience, quiet pleasant.

Cups with coffee stains, I'm expecting no stains for paying over $300. Hot features in the water dispenser not working and around the dispenser look dirty. I guess a lot of small things make the stay slightly annoying for paying premium price. Will I spend a similar amount of money to stay again? The answer is no. Simply because the apartment looks different to the picture advertised in booking.com

Great hotel with a cosy bar where Mr. Fahmi is displaying his bartending brilliance! His positive energy is contagious and his skills superb! Some interesting wine + food packages too. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay in Surabaya, look no further!

1. The room is clean and tidy, the bed is very comfortable to sleep. 2. Before we check out, we requested the laundry service, it was completed before the time we book to collect which is convenient for us. 3. The hotel is close to one shopping centre, within walking distance for 10mins. 4. Staff are friendly and willing to help.

1. One day the toilet was blocked. But the service was really quick to resolve the issue. 2. Every morning after the breakfast, it requests me to sign on the invoice, which confuses me if the breakfast will get charged twice from my deposit. But after the explanation from the reception desk, it helps me clarify.

The location of the hotel is great, particularly close to a big shopping mall / supermarket. The facilities are as described, and breakfast was really good! The staff was also very kind and always ready to help. I was able to rest well and prepare for my business trip.

The only comment I have is that perhaps there could be two teabags of each type of tea, instead of just one, as I was working late and found myself out of tea.

You should have a spa

Stayed in one of the premier rooms. What a beautiful stay! The staff was very helpful, polite and regularly cleaned my room.

Too pricey

I stayed here for two nights and it was amazing. I booked the twin bed room but got upgraded to the bigger one by surprise! Thank you so much Oakwood Hotel Surabaya. All staff were nice, food was good, room was so comfy. I really like the city view from my room. Totally worth every penny 👍🏻

Left an item or two in the room during check out. Staff was quick to call us to come back and recover the items. Appreciated the professionalism of the staff.

There was no spa as indicated by the hotel but instead it was a service that would be offered to your room. A bit of a false advertising there.

Excellent place to stay in Surabaya!

Booked one bedroom executive for 2 nights. Full equipped equipped and spacious room. However, we just found out the moldy wall inside the wardrobe after staying for 1 night which is harmful for the respiratory organ especially for the toddler. The room is not soundproof, so you can hear the noise from the traffic. Towels teared down and holes at floor mats which is surprising especially for the standard of Oakwood brand. My in law inquired about the charger for the AV car and the response from the the duty Manager was incredible Rude and unprofessional. He stated that none of the guest inquired such a strange question. After realizing that we are staying in the Hotel, he tried to justify his behaviors.

The room was spacious and clean.

There were few not working plugs such as in the kitchen. We didnt like the complimentary water glass bottle. There was no microwave.

Oakwood was my home for a month and the room, facilities, food, and hotel staff were all amazing. I must mention the breakfast which offered a mixture of freshly prepared Indonesian and continental foods - I ate far too much. A special thank you to Vilan for her care and attention during my stay.

The Oakwood Hotel was a home away from home for me during a month long stay in Surabaya. The kind and carrying staff and managers made my stay super comfortable. If you travel to Surabaya, I would highly recommend you stay at the Oakwood hotel!
