Breakfast was excellent. Table clean and laid with care and fresh linen tablecloth set a good standard

I would have liked to have met our host on arrival. It seemed odd just being left a key and rather impersonal.

Breakfast was lovely. The second day we were up at the ungodly hour of 5.15 and the lady who ran left us breakfast outside to take away. Rooms were clean and well cared for. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Great place, really friendly staff and just a lovely place to stay. Big thank you!

Our room was officially cancelled at around 1.30pm on the date of arrival. Owner adamant she had tried to communicate earlier but I never received contact. Eventually booking.com confirmed our booking had been cancelled. Despite speaking wuth the owner we were not offered any type of explanation or apology. Left us with a little dog with obviously limited options. Thank you Travelodge 😊

We had a little visit from Casper the Dalmatian and he was so friendly. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The family suite was great as the kids were in the other room!

I had a bath at about 2pm and there wasn't much hot water.

Lovely views, very peaceful and perfectly situated for the wedding we were attending. Even helped me trim tags out of my dress. Would stay again. Thank you.

After the first night, we changed rooms, and the second room was far bigger and far more comfortable.

We arrived in the evening and let ourselves into the building as per instructions. There was nobody to greet us, and a form had been left for us to complete regarding our stay and breakfast. The owner came through and was not particularly welcoming and appeared to wish to return to a TV programme. We were left in the hallway to find our own room, which was upstairs. It felt awkward to simply walk into a building we were unfamiliar with and to walk upstairs looking for the appropriate room. Over breakfast, there was similar treatment from another member of staff. They were minimally friendly but very business-like, and they did slightly improve as our stay went on. The rooms were not replenished, so items such as water and milk were not replenished. Dirty cups from previous nights were still left in the room. We witnessed another guest being spoken to quite abruptly as they had not completed a breakfast form. This was embarrassing for her and us as observers. The breakfast itself was very good, and the portions very generous. On one occasion, we had completed a breakfast form. However, on the following day, this had not been communicated to a new member of staff, which led to a little bit of awkwardness. This lady was lovely, and nothing was too much for her. On our last day, we were greeted by a member of staff and an elderly lady. She was wonderful and friendly, and everything that the other members of staff should have been. She explained that she only covers every now and again. However, this lady gave the best impression about the building and services offered. One evening, due to feeling unwell, I wanted a hot drink, and milk had not been provided in the room. I contacted the owner. However, due to poor signal, the messages were not getting through. We'll definitely start this properly again, but there seems to be a distinctly cold atmosphere. If we did ask for anything, the owner was forthcoming and obliging.

The room was lovely - spacious, comfortable, light and lovely views. The bed was comfortable. The food at breakfast was fresh and tasty.

There was no interaction from staff. On arrival, a sheet was left for us to complete for what we wanted for breakfast, this was left with our keys. We came down for breakfast at our chosen time slot and waited for about 15 minutes, again, no staff to greet us. After about 15 minutes a member of staff popped their head around the corner of the door and then went to get breakfast, put breakfast down and then went. Nobody came to ask if we would like any sauces or how the breakfast was. After breakfast we even had to ask a member of staff if we could pay.

Room size. The cooked breakfast. The big bed. The views from the window. Tray for hot drinks and biscuits. Cleanliness. Fan provided. Lots of pillows. For the discounted price we had we were very pleased. The smell of breakfast cooking! The garden to wander around. Would use again as a stopover definitely.

If we'd paid the full price I'd have a few niggles. I'm not a radio/music person so the radio on with it's background thud in the morning wasn't my thing but my daughter didn't notice it until I said. It was during the holidays so perhaps there was guests elsewhere or children at home and that's tricky to manage. However, the accompanying smell of breakfast cooking made up for it. Some of the towels looked a bit worn with little holes. Saying that, I'd go again for an overnight at a similar price if travelling but I'd recommend it with caveats if it was for a special occasion at the full price.

Large bright bedroom, with a very comfortable bed. Nice setting looking over fields, with a small but clean outside pool which was a delight on a hot day. Ample and excellent breakfast.

Pool had quite a few leaves in. Sun loungers provided, the hard plastic slatted type, but no cushions. When I asked about cushions I was provided with extra bath towels and a throw cushion for padding. It’s unusual to have to be ordering exactly what you want for breakfast the day before, but I understand that, as a small establishment, they don’t wish to waste food. On the ground floor, in the kitchen, there is a tv constantly on, and there was in the breakfast room also. This noise I found irritating and off putting. I am also nervous of dogs and didn’t like the loose Dalmatian being around. Although the bedroom was large and the bed comfortable, I’m glad I wasn’t sharing it - it seemed quite narrow. WiFi poor.

Love older properties that aren’t square boxes. Beautiful home with lots of lovely features, but also facilities that aren’t square boxes up to date. We were in the attic rooms which were accessed by quite steep stairs which may not suit everyone but were fine for us. Weather was very hot so we also enjoyed a quick dip in the outdoor pool to cool us down before bed.

Husband found headroom at edge of rooms a little low but this couldn’t be helped.

The room was lovely overlooking the outdoor pool. The breakfast was excellent.

We had one of the attic rooms, which was a bit difficult having a dog - would have been better on the 1st floor. Dining room windowsill had many dead insects, which is a bit off putting

We really enjoyed our stay here, the guest house is lovely with spacious rooms and lots of added extras such as nice toiletries and water. Staff were welcoming but also not overbearing, we knew we could ask if needed anything but aside from that left to our own devices, we made great use of the pool area and terrace and enjoyed watching the horses. Breakfast was fantastic and our additional requests were catered too. Great value for money, will be back.

There was no window to open in the twin room of the family room, we could have benefited from the window being able to be opened

Comfortable spacious room with fan provided due to the heatwave. Outdoor pool was great especially after a long trip on the bike. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Location was good as a nice pub 15 min walk away but mostly along a main road.

Attitude of the staff (pool boy) who had to remove the cleaning machine from the pool was basically rude, plus they have not sent and invoice even though they have been asked multiple time and they took my email address as I left ready to send it.

Very warm welcome from the owner room was very tidy and massive value for money bed was king sized very nice. Pool was kept very clean considering it's next to bushes and trees.

This is a lovely, authentic B&B. Setting is gorgeous. Outdoor pool. Alpacas in the farm across the road and a garden centre with cafe on the other side. Breakfast was amazing

Pleasant location in the country side. The place was cosy and breakfast was great. The owner was a pleasant lady who was helpful.

The ceiling was rather low. All 3 of us were tall and ended up bumping our head all over the place.

The location was superb, very quiet, yet easily accessible from the main road into Congleton and there was plenty of space for parking. Our room was well appointed and clean and breakfast was excellent.

The property was a lovely and clean. It’s situated next to fields. My daughter enjoyed looking out at the horses from the window. The pool was an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was a bit run down, hadn’t been hoovered. Had to ask for toilet paper. The toilet needed looked at after flushing it, leaving the accommodation for an hour, to return to the cistern still filling up. It just didn’t feel very clean or well maintained.
