When you book an Autograph Collection hotel, you never know what you’re going to get. the Bankside Hotel was wonderful. The check-in staff was excellent-warm, on top of things and helpful. The location was excellent for exploring London and for taking the tube to/from the various airports. The buffet breakfast (which is complimentary for Titanium members) was good. They have a nice happy hour on the terrace, with complimentary wine, a few evenings each week. My favorite thing about the Bankside was the curtains that were pieces of art by Dutch artist Claudy Jongstra.

This is a very good hotel. Not too big or lavish but well-appointed and stylish. We had a Deluxe King room which was very comfortable and spacious. The location is great - quiet but right on the Southbank and close enough to reach most attractions on foot if you do not mind walking for 30 minutes (the weather was great so we walked everywhere). But tube and national rail stations are also very close. Breakfast was good (but not excellent); there is one main room and one spillover room which is not very nice and seems to be used mainly for families with young children. Staff at reception were polite and helpful. Housekeeping was very good. Just three observations: 1. On our last day we (two adults) were given a table in the spillover room for breakfast. I suggest this be used exclusively for families with children. I understand that children can be lively but do not want them running around me at breakfast. 2. We were given a late check out and were asked to go to reception to have our room keys updated to the new checkout time. I did that and the key was reprogrammed but it stopped working the next morning and we could not get in after breakfast. Reception was nearby and I popped down again, but this should not happen in a hotel of this quality. 3. When I originally booked, the rate with breakfast was an extra £35 per day per person. As there are plenty of places to eat nearby I declined. I later (as a Bonvoy member) received an offer for £18 pp per day, which we took. I think that was a reasonable price for the good but not lavish buffet breakfast offered (but note that ordering from the menu is at extra cost). I prefer to have breakfast at the hotel and more reasonable initial pricing would ensure more people do so.

We have stayed here a few times now and have really enjoyed it each time. The location of the hotel (esp if arriving from Gatwick) is unbeatable. The service at the hotel is great, check-in is efficient while still very welcoming. At breakfast the staff were very attentive, special mention for Anastasia who remembered our breakfast orders from a previous stay and was very sweet with our children. These little touches mean a lot! This is the best Bonvoy hotel in London, at least for our family needs.

We stayed at the Bankside Hotel during our recent short stay in London. Even though this was not our first trip to London, it was BY FAR the BEST! The hotel is conveniently located within an easy walk of all the attractions, yet in a quiet area free from the touristy commotion. The best part of this hotel is its courteous, friendly staff, who welcome you with a warm smile and make sure you have a five-star stay. (Thank you, Leena, Kasha, and Ola, for your excellent hospitality!) The rooms are very comfortable with first-class amenities. This will be our go-to place for our future stays in London!

The staff were very welcoming, taking cases to the room. Offering a carton of water on arrival (it was a hot day). Phoning for a taxi. Nothing was too much trouble.

I couldn’t fault it. Although pretty expensive, it’s true that ‘you get what you pay for’ in this life.

We came back into London after a long cruise, and this hotel was the oasis we needed! We were instantly greeted by the wonderful Lena, brought right up to reception, and offered a welcome drink. After friendly discussion of our plans, she helped us book the tour we wanted and assigned us a spacious room. Our bags were delivered by a most delightful porter who showed us everything we needed to know about all the controls and amenities. I only wish I could remember his name! Curly hair, glasses, cheerful - but then, everyone was lovely! The shower was gloriously large, the bed so very comfortable, and the sitting area perfect for lounging. The accommodation is filled with art pieces and has many places to sit and relax - I wish we’d had more time to do just that! Perfectly located steps from the Thames Path, we had easy walks to the Tower Bridge, the Tower, Shakespeare’s Globe, the Tate Modern, Borough Market, and so much more. This is a must-stay location!

Just returned from a night at this hotel celebrating our wedding anniversary. Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Our room was perfect. And the whole hotel is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast is very good too. Returned to our room last night to find a lovely card a little cake and a bottle of chilled prosecco for our Anniversary, what a perfect touch, thank you so much . Would highly recommend this hotel,and it will definitely be our new favourite hotel when we visit London.

This was our second stay at The Bankside and we enjoyed it as much as last year. The hotel is maintained extremely well and housekeeping was terrific. All front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful.. .a special call-out to Ola and Manuel. The hotel is in a wonderful location for any activities on the South Bank and is conveniently located for nearby Tube and train stations. We look forward to returning next year.

Great hotel for location, quality and service. Perfect for both business and family trips due to everything it has to offer. cozy and artsy interior. Delicious breakfast with a variety of hot and cold options. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Incredibly welcoming staff, too many to mention all. Special mention for front desk Kasha (absolutely incredibly welcoming and helpful - she always had great tips and advice, going beyond expectations) and all the cleaning staff, especially their supervisor Cristina (on 3rd floor) who went out of the way to make sure we had anything we needed. All the front desk people and restaurant staff were very nice and courteous (hard to remember all names, I remember German who helped with smooth departure)…

I love this hotel so much, I almost don’t want to tell anyone about it and keep it all to myself. I stayed here for about a week with my family and it was a consistently great experience with top-notch attention to details. This was truly the best hotel because of the people. The STAFF was so exceptional. As soon as our taxi arrived at the front of the hotel, a man came to get our bags and give us a glass of wine while we checked in. The FRONT DESK persons were so thoughtful, kind and truly attentive. It took 2 seconds for them to call a taxi, they were very organized and on top of everything. The FOOD at the restaurant was divine. We ate at the hotel restaurant about 4 or 5 times. Best gnocchi, Caesar salad, chicken breast, and sea bass ever. The house organic white wine made me appreciate wine. The DECOR is truly beautiful. The art theme plays out in a way that is both playful and elegant. As a lover of fine art, it was a joy to stay here. The ROOMS were so lovely and spacious. The decor is modern and authentic and consistent. The art makes you feel joyful. The coffee and tea, the snacks and the letter-writing box were special details I loved. Lastly, a personal story- I misplaced my very expensive Louis Vuitton scarf in one of the rooms I had stayed in. It had been lost for nearly 3 days before I realized it was gone. I called the front desk and they had been keeping it safe and returned it to me immediately. Bravo to HOUSEKEEPING. This hotel genuinely made me love London! I cannot wait to come back!

We LOVED this hotel in London - our kids said staying here was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, comfortable beds and great location with close proximity to the promenade along the Thames in South Bank and other sights. Simply outstanding in every way - walkable to most points of interest, taxi rank in front, excellent breakfast service with eggs cooked to order, staff goes above and beyond (including landing us tickets for Paddington the day before the show!), and a nicely outfitted gym with a Hydrow rowing machine (one of about 50 hotels worldwide that have one and if you are a Hydrower fantasize about Henley will working your splits on floor -2). Sebastian, Leena, Anastasia and others made this a vacation to enjoy and remember

I cannot speak highly enough about this hotel! I have been privileged to travel around the world, stay in very nice hotels, but the staff at the Bankside took our experience to another level. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they took their time assisting us with directions and made wonderful recommendations, all which were 100% on point! The hotel itself is in a great location, across the road is the thames River, walking distance to the London eye, great restaurants and many attractions. The rooms at the hotel are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, they have a great restaurant and bar, they serve an incredible breakfast, have a coffee bar, complementary water stations on each floor and many other great features. There is no doubt that we will stay at the Bankside again when we’re next in London! The staff there are truly an asset to Marriott!!

Our stay at Bankside Hotel was truly special from start to finish. You can tell a lot of care has gone into choosing each piece, and it gives the whole place a creative, almost homely feel. It made simply walking around the hotel feel like part of the experience. What really made our stay, though, was the people. The staff were so friendly, kind, and attentive, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. This is my all time favourite hotel. Great location that enables me to get around London. I love to spend time in the Hotel as well. The library lounge (mezanine floor), is a great place to settle and think through your notes and get some reading done. Great selection of wines. Walking around the hotel and looking at the design and zany art is a pleasure. Going across to the Art room to meet with the Resident Artist and evaluate some of her work in progress. The rooms and the aesthetic is great. Your Front Desk team is absolutely awesome. We were welcomed with big smiles from Katerina Vilchek, Manuel, Richard, and the entire team, which set the tone right away. Despite arriving early, our rooms were ready, complete with special amenities—such a thoughtful touch. The warmth and hospitality we experienced are beyond words. A special thank you to Katerina for her professionalism and for going above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. She didn’t just do her job—she did it with heart, and that made her uniquely amazing. A big shout-out as well to the restaurant team—absolutely brilliant! The food was amazing. Thank you, Chef! I don’t often want to write a review but had to for this one. The hotel was brilliant. Check in was done with a lovely receptionist who was so friendly and complimentary arrival drinks was such a nice touch. Everything you could want was there including a cafe on site which we loved. The design of the hotel was great - despite being a really big central hotel it had boutique vibes. Plus all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again! Small considerations - you can hear everything in the hallways and from the rooms when in the hallway so some soundproofing would be good. Pillows were a bit soft. That’s it though everything else was perfect

If you’re looking for a chic, comfortable hotel in a fantastic location with exceptional service, Bankside Hotel is an excellent choice. We would absolutely stay here again!

One night stay at the Autograph Bankside and a nice stay. Love the ambience of the hotel, great location just next to Blackfriars Bridge, so a short walk to the London Eye, Tate and Borough Market. Great rooms, nicely equipped , friendly staff and filtered water available on tap. Only small negative was the lack of Netflix on the TV.

Bankside Hotel exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt refined, artistic, and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully designed, extremely clean, and incredibly comfortable. The hotel’s location makes exploring London effortless, and the staff provide outstanding service with attention to detail that truly sets this hotel apart. Breakfast and dining were also top-notch. A perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and culture, it's definitely a hotel I’d return to.

Amazing stay at Bankside Hotel, Autograph Collection. My family and I stayed for a week at this hotel, and truly enjoyed our experience!! Leading up to our stay the communication was excellent, and they were very prompt to responding to all requests. Following check in from all of the team, to the food, room size, location, everything exceeded expectations and would definitely recommend to all looking for a place to stay in London, look no further this is your place!! Many thanks to all the team and staff, special mention to the manager Philip who assisted me with a discrepancy at check out, and I was very happy with his efforts to rectify and resolve. The atmosphere was very elevated style, with a mixture of families and other travelers. Value for money was right on point in my opinion. The rooms were extremely clean with twice daily cleaning including a turn down service. Noise level was great, with no loud noise in the hotel. Many amentities including the gym service, and downstairs area includes ample seating areas for reading, or doing work etc.

This was an anniversary weekend so we treated ourselves to a suite. We felt we got more than we paid for. It was a delight to find beautifully dressed bed ( rose petals) and complimentary fizz and cake . We were on the top floor with picture windows that framed St Paul’s. Down a side street ( so quiet) and yet with beautiful views. Perfect Location for the Old Vic and the Tate Modern. Staff were unobtrusive but attentive. We will be back

Our most recent visit to Bankside has been a delight! We had a lovely room with everything just perfect. The staff, as always, in the restaurant, the bar and those we came in contact with from housekeeping were Friendly and only to happy to help. In particular, on reception, Kasha and Angela were so friendly and welcoming - they immediately made us feel comfortable on arrival and during our stay. We hope to return very soon.

Mention spéciale également pour l’atmosphère très family-friendly : nos deux enfants de moins de 10 ans s’y sont sentis parfaitement à l’aise… au point de ne plus vouloir repartir 😊 Le petit-déjeuner est excellent, varié et de grande qualité. Une adresse que nous recommandons sans hésitation.

Fantastic hotel. Super clean, amazing staff (especially Kesha!), no stuffiness with guests or staff, and great location. Food was very good, but being close to a couple grocery stores also helped for those last minute crisps and gin :) Anyways, would highly recommend and will be staying here again next time in town.

Our stay at Bankside Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. What truly sets this hotel apart is the people — every interaction felt genuine, thoughtful, and full of care. He even went out of his way to personally bring our welcome drinks to our room when the bar was busy — a small gesture that spoke volumes about the level of service here. Throughout our stay, the entire team was attentive and kind. Breakfast each morning was a highlight — beautifully organised, delicious, and relaxed. Yana and Anastasia made us feel completely at home, greeting us with warmth and genuine conversation that made our mornings feel special rather than routine. We were also so grateful to Katerina, who helped coordinate our stay in advance. Her thoughtful communication and attention to detail — including arranging a lovely birthday surprise — truly elevated the experience and made us feel incredibly well cared for. Between the exceptional service, the elegant and comfortable rooms, and the unbeatable location, Bankside Hotel has quickly become our favourite place to stay in London. We can’t wait to return.

The property is new, clean, fresh and cozy! Every corner of the hotel has an artistic element which elevates your stay! Right next to the hotel there is a Waitrose and a Gail’s in case you need to get something. The hotel’s food is also very good and you can spend a good amount of time in their lounge and enjoy the tranquility. The bed was very comfortable and towels and linen were changed almost daily! Most rooms are 25 m2 so they are quite comfortable if you have large luggage. The staff was so helpful and accommodating, we managed to get an early check in which was a fantastic add on to our stay! We will definitely come back.

I would have loved if the TV in the room was a smart tv so we could log into our streaming services as BBC channels can be limiting. Also, comparing to other central hotels you need to walk 10 mins to the tube stations but there are buses and the overground few mins away that can help you get anywhere you need!

Honestly, I didn’t expect to like this hotel so much, but the service changed my mind. From the moment we approached the front door, we were greeted by Phillip who offered to help with the luggage. Inside, Leena invited us to sit in comfortable chairs as we registered and we were offered drinks (in my case, champagne). Later, we got to meet Marina in the Mezzanine for evening wine. It was such a treat due to Marina’s warm and generous personality. In the morning, due to our status, we were offered a free breakfast and were very pleased at so many vegan options. Dimbu, Anastasiia (from Ukraine) & everyone in the restaurant went out of their way to serve us and make us incredible lattes. We also appreciated Dennis, Ivana, Kosta from the restaurant. Leena, from the front desk, continued to check in on us throughout our stay to make sure that everything was going well. Finally, the housekeeping staff was very attentive, offered to exchange our non-vegan snacks for vegan ones and gave us turn-down service. The room itself was not for us, but the staff made the stay a happy one.

Gorgeous hotel, wonderful service. Although the lighting system needs a brief tutorial. Excellent location as well.

The staff at the Bankside Hotel are among the most kind and helpful I have ever experienced in a hotel. They went out of their way to make my stay there a very positive one. Highly recommended!

As soon as we walked into the lobby of the hotel, we were greeted very professionally and happily by the hotel staff. German (pronounced "Herman") at the front desk was the main person that we interacted with there, and he was top notch. We were quickly offered a beverage and accepted the offer of a gin tonic while waiting on the room to be ready. The room was lovely, with very comfortable bedding and lush accommodations. Food service and food quality in the restaurant were also excellent. And the top notch service continued all of the way through check out. A hotel has not made this good of an impression on me in a long time. Great job Team Bankside!
