Cockroaches in our bedroom. Very unclean- dirt and dust and cobwebs all over the room and a horrific smell throughout the whole hotel day and night.

The room was tidy and clean but not for families as it is very small.

The hotel itself is a little old, like many of the hotels in this area, so I knew what I was walking into when I booked it. That said, I do wish the rooms and the hotel in general were taken care of a little better. The main ground-floor area, where breakfast is served, had a slightly funky smell during my stay. I didn’t have breakfast there, so I can’t comment on the food itself. The room was clean, and the linen and beds were clean, but the overall look and feel of the room didn’t feel quite as clean because of how old and worn some things were. You could especially tell that the headboard area of the bed had seen better days. The room itself was also very, very tight. However, I knew this before booking and chose it anyway because of the good value for money compared to the other options in the area. Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re looking for something affordable and understand that the hotel is older and the rooms are quite small. At the same time, you’re getting one of the best locations possible, right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where all the action is, and the value for money is hard to beat.

The main things I didn’t like were the smell throughout the hotel and the general lack of attention to detail. There was a slightly funky smell, particularly around the main ground-floor area. I also didn’t like that throughout my entire stay, there was a cleaning cart parked on my floor with all the cleaning supplies and equipment on it. It was always there and made the hallway look quite messy and untidy. The hotel is also quite old and some areas could definitely use a bit more care and maintenance. The room itself was clean, including the bed and linen, but the overall look and feel was quite dated and worn.

El personal muy amable. La habitación que habíamos reservado al principio no nos gustó y al comunicárselo al dueño, pagamos un poquito más y nos cambiaron a otra mucho mejor. El desayuno bastante bueno. Nos ayudaron con la excursión de la bahía de HaLong y nos hicieron un descuento. La ubicación es perfecta.

Nothing like the pictures - okay clean but some stains on the sheets and in general not as new and fresh. Rooftop was only used for storage..

Le personnel très gentil. Le petit déjeuner assez bon avec pas mal de choix. L’emplacement est parfait, en plein centre de Hanoi. Je recommande pour 1-2 nuits pas plus

La chambre est assez petite et le gros - c’est qu’il n’y a pas de fenêtre donc je me suis vite sentie à l’étroit et même moi qui ne suis pas claustrophobe ça m’a perturbé. Si vous allez dans la chambre seulement pour dormir et que vous n’y restez pas la journée alors ça convient.

The location was amazing, we walked pretty much everywhere. The rooms were big enough, clean and beds comfortable.

The pictures of the rooms don't quite reflect reality, they look somwat more ran down and some updates would be great. The offering of tours was quite pushy as they mentioned it multiple times prior to arrival and right before check in. We would have appreciated it more if it was offered after check in so we would have an option whether we would like to know more or not.

our stay in Hanoi in the Golden sail was very good. They gave us a room upgrade. The hotel is clean and very well located in the old quarter. The hotel staff was very friendly at all times. The breakfast is also very correct. The quality-price ratio is very good. Highly recommended.

Very central location and the staff were so helpful! My boyfriend left his phone on a sleeper bus and Kent from reception took a taxi 30 minutes away to pick it up for us. Could not recommend more!

Me obligaron a pagar en cash más de lo establecido en la app, me agobiaron para comprar tours en la recepción con ellos, me cobraron de más en el primer traslado del aeropuerto y el desayuno no es nada bueno. Habitacion sin ventilación y la ducha gotea durante toda la noche. Acabe dejando el hotel 3 noches antes porque no me trataron nada bien, me siento engañado.

De geboekte kamer was een superior room. Blijkt een hele kleine kamer met 2 ramen die tegen een muur geplakt zijn dus ook niet open kunnen. Pas na een flinke bijbetaling een grotere kamer gekregen met echte ramen. Manager ziet je als een wandelende ATM

The price was hard to pass up and the location seemed good online

Staff were atrocious, they were pushy on day tours and didn't do anything from a comfort management POV. The room was smaller than small. The toilet and shower looks to have been broken and repaired badly on multiple occasions, bed was crap, stained sheets and torn towels. I was woken my first night at 5 am by bell night porter watching videos on full volume waiting for the elevator. Next morning at 2 am I was woken by the same porter who phoned my room asking if my AC was broken. Morning of my leaving I asked the porter to reschedule my taxi to be earlier and was told that couldn't be changed. I then asked him to cancel it instead and he told me he couldn't. Use Grab if you're staying here and don't organise or book anything through the hotel. TV was a Free 5 min trial that then required a subscription. Fridge was on the same circuit as the rest of the room as was the AC so nothing was cold to drink. AC would take about 30-40 mins to cool the room after you got in, no natural light in the room. No power outlets or light switches around the bed. Door to the hall had gaps all around so you could hear everything outside and light from the hallway was constantly visible

Posizione davvero ottima, perfetta per girare la città a piedi. Tutto lo staff si è dimostrato estremamente gentile, accogliente e sempre disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza. Un ringraziamento speciale va a Jack, davvero amabile e professionale: ha gestito e risolto un piccolo inconveniente con la mia stanza in tempi record. L'edificio ha uno stile un po' datato e antico, ma la struttura è ben tenuta e il rapporto qualità-prezzo è davvero eccellente. Consigliato!

I was in town to start a bike tour. Jack and the team were very helpful in assisting find repair shops when things went wrong and we're very thoughtful as to what I might need for my stay.

The location was central.

The property is a scam. The ‘windows’ were facing a wall. There was no reasonable fire escape for this property. It’s dangerous. Electricity was flickering. The ‘terrace’ was two chairs and a table in the street, with motorbikes shoved next to it and cigarette butts on the flood (see photo). Hotel STAFF making a tonne of noise in the middle of the night, shouting on the phone to someone. Safety deposit box didn’t work. Black hairs in the bathroom from previous guests (my hair is ginger. It wasn’t mine.) Extremely overpriced, avoid at all costs. I have stayed in superior hostels to this and paid far less.

The staff was very friendly and nice. They helped me to arrange the transport to and from the airport. The location of the hotel is perfect and I liked also the breakfast, they have some things as buffet and other that you can order.

It was a bit noisy. Also my room was very close to the kitchen and breakfast area and I was waking up with the noise from there.
